Over Coffee® | Stories and Resources from the Intersection of Art and Science | Exploring How to Make STEAM Work For You

When Perception Founder/CEO Dr. Sirisilp Kongsilp first saw VR, he was fascinated. And it started him thinking of ways to create something new. Today Dr. Kongsilp, or Rabbit, as he prefers to be called (that's what his name means) has just entered into an exciting new partnership, that will benefit students worldwide. And he and his team will be creating new, free resources for educators! What Rabbit and his team came up with was desktop AR. This is a plugin to Unity Technologies' platform which allows users to view 3D objects from their computers, with just a pair of red-and-blue glasses! In addition, this is a very user-friendly technology that allows creatives to develop and share a 3D app--for free! Now, just in time for back-to-school, Bangkok-based holographic company Perception has an exciting new partnership that's going to benefit students worldwide. Again, it's free. Rabbit recently announced that Perception has entered into a partnership with the Imperial War Museums, and the Science Museum Group, in London. "Together, we will bring holographic exhibitions to more than 20,000 students worldwide" he emailed. A look at the museums' websites reveals some seriously cool stuff. Coming soon--in 3D Imperial War Museums' website lists five museums in their group. Among these are the Churchill War Rooms, which takes visitors inside life during WWII; HMS Belfast, the most significant surviving Second World War Royal Navy warship; and IWM London, which includes the "Extraordinary Heroes" exhibition among its permanent collections. Meanwhile, the Science Museum Group is the world's leading group of science museums. Their members include the National Railway Museum, National Science and Media Museum and the Science and Industry Museum. We can only imagine all the incredible artifacts which students will get to see, up close, in 3D in the future! Rabbit offered a look inside the process of creating museum-artifact holograms for student use, discussed a recent workshop which Perception hosted and shared a contact for educators, worldwide, to get their classrooms involved. On this edition of Over Coffee® we cover: How this new partnership came about for Perception; Perception's goals for reaching students; A look at the process of translating museum artifacts into 3D holograms; The next steps in the project; What to expect, virtually, when the exhibition goes live; How educators who aren't in the UK or Thailand can reach out and get access to the project when it releases; How you can create your own app through Perception; A sample "lesson" that educators might create, using one of the 3D artifacts; What Perception did, in a recent educational-technology workshop with students (who made their own holographic applications!); Rabbit's vision for the future of holographic artifact projects that reach "beyond the museum's wall" His vision for future applications; And, some of the lessons he's learned, as an entrepreneur/tech innovator working with desktop AR. A Powerful Replay: Soul Meditation – a Tribute to Dr. Amy Robbins' mentor and “Soul Mama”, Ariana Garrett       Dr. Amy Robbins says of Ariana Garrett, “I believe there is no one who could explain the Soul better than she could. There is no one who understood the soul better than she did. And there is no one who could help manifest sh*t faster than she could help manifest sh*t. She was magical where that is concerned.”       Episode Summary:   Today Dr. Amy Robbins shares very personal grief; her rocked faith, sadness, and vulnerability  – after losing her mentor, teacher and friend – after losing her “Soul Mama”.    Internationally renowned master energy therapist, spiritual life coach, and meditation teacher Ariana Garrett lost her earthly life to cancer in early August 2021.   From a place of raw grief, Dr. Amy Robbins is grateful to share this tribute to Ariana's wisdom, knowledge, soul and light. This timeless conversation originally aired in 2019. Enjoy.     Today We Experience a Powerful Soul Meditation Together! Enjoy one of Dr. Amy Robbins' favorite meditations. More than quieting the mind… The goal of this meditation is to connect with our soul to align and commune with the soul, to experience a conscious unity, and then and bring the energy of the soul back into our personalities. Prepare the personality to receive those soul energies. The soul is the actor, and the personality is the role the actor is playing. Sit upright with a straight spine.  Unwind with micromovements. Settle into stillness. Focus attention on the feet. Realize that right here, right now, all is well.  Rest in this. Feel the earth below you – and how beautiful and powerful that is. Rest in this. Focus attention at the base of your spine. Imagine a column of light running up your spine to your heart. Feel a sphere like a bead of light at your heart, a place of inspiration and compassion. Recognize that all is well right here, right now. Imagine expanding your heart, and invite energy from the awakened collective heart into our own heart. Rest in this. Slowly rise up that column of light in a counterclockwise direction, and imagine a beautiful sphere of light above your head. Rest here. Recognize you a part of a soul tribe, your spiritual family, in and out of bodies. Attune to your soul tribe. Recognize the vast resources available within your soul tribe - protection, guidance, etc. Call on your soul tribe for those resources, even if you don't know just what they are. Stand in openness in receiving. Expand your awareness, visualize bright spot high above you. Imagine the a cone of light from that high point coming down all around you. This divine light is shining down you at all times, and Earth supports you. Set an intention to live within these forces. Set an intention to share these subtle energies Let's express gratitude for this time together and this sacred space we have created.       Learn More about Ariana Garrett's Life and Contribution:   Facebook Instagram Website     Support Life, Death and the Space Between:   If you're enjoying the podcast and finding value in guest interviews, ghost stories, and the content I share, please consider supporting the show by becoming a Patreon member for as little as $5 a month at Patreon.com/DrAmyRobbins   As a member you'll get more say in the content we cover and exclusive access to behind-the-scenes goodness!     Stay Connected: Facebook Instagram YouTube Fireside

A Powerful Replay: Transitions of the Soul – a Tribute to Dr. Amy Robbins' mentor and "Soul Mama" Ariana Garrett     “There is definitely a connection between what is happening on the other side, and what is happening here in this physical reality. The more we are attuned to our own soul, the more our soul can bridge those worlds, and it becomes natural to know life on a deeper level, and to know a more multi-dimensional expression of life.” – Ariana Garrett     Dr. Amy Robbins says of Ariana Garrett, “I believe there is no one who could explain the Soul better than she could. There is no one who understood the soul better than she did. And there is no one who could help manifest sh*t faster than she could help manifest sh*t. This timeless conversation originally aired in 2019. Enjoy.     Topics We Discuss: The soul is the more transcendent aspect of yourself, your better self. Beautiful union of soul and personality on a spiritual path. Why Adriana uses “personality” (positive connotation) vs. ego (negative connotation) Consciousness as another word for soul, and subtle attunement to consciousness in everyday life. The souls purpose is always movement in the direction of love, creativity and presence. Death as a long, multi-step process, punctuated with choice points culminating with the last breath. Each individual's transition (death) is unique, depending on how aligned vs. resistant the individual personality is with the process. Most deaths are positive experiences, with feelings of peace and bliss, a sense of coming home. How you die is reflective of how you've lived.

Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men's Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there. In this segment, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee are joined by primary care physician Dr. Lamia Kadir of Family Medicine Austin. Today Dr. Mistry and Dr. Kadir are educating our listeners on what to expect from a Primary Care Physician, or PCP. While many people know they need to get an annual physical exam from the PCP, it can be more difficult to know what specifically should be tested and/or addressed by their provider. Dr. Kadir explains that not only should physicians gather all the standard data like weight, blood pressure, etc., but they should also ask detailed questions about family health history to assess your risk for major, life-threatening concerns like cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, an so on. In addition, your PCP should do a full body skin check to screen for potential melanomas. Finally, some PCPs will offer you additional testing options like the Health Grades Analytics preventative screening. This head-to-toe examination includes a fundoscopy (eye exam); ultrasound of your aorta, looking for an aneurysm; an echocardiogram, which is actually a test of your heart function; ultrasound of your arteries, thyroid, and kidneys; a pulmonary function test, which classically has done for asthma; and an EEG, which is a cursory test for seizure disorder. If you're really looking to capitalize on your health in 2021, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and you can take preventative measures to ensure long-term, holistic wellness with the right provider. To schedule an appointment or learn more about the Health Grades Analytics screening, you can reach Dr. Kadir at familymedicineaustin.com or call (512) 872-6868.If you enjoyed today's episode, don't forget to like, subscribe, and share us with a friend! Arjun Vaidya was brought up in a family with a rich culture in Ayurveda. His Grandfather had started an ayurvedic clinic about 150 years ago. He went to study in the US, where he saw yoga repackaged and being sold all over the country. He pondered why India was lagging behind in it's adoption, the land where it originated from. He returned to India and started a brand to bring ayurvedic products to the Indian audience. His vision was to contribute to India's renaissance, by making ayurvedic products for Indian consumers. He started by repackaging ayurvedic products for new use cases. Capsule Chawanprash and Hangover shield being 2 such items that received a great demand. To build a D2C brand for Bharat, Arjun advises it's crucial one should not consider their friends & themselves as the consumers. It's important for the founders to talk to users every week at all times of the startup's journey. He mentions that constant feedback and suggestions from users gave birth to many of Dr. Vaidya's products that are now very successful. Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men's Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there. In this segment, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee explain why urinary leakage in men is an issue that should be addressed by a urologist--not ignored or tolerated! While urinary leakage is very common (if irritating) in women, it is generally more concerning in men. Leakage can be anything from post-void dribbling, or small urine leakage after you've used the restroom and put back on your clothing. There is also urge incontinence, which happens when you can't get to the bathroom quickly enough. Urge incontinence can lead to full-scale bed-wetting and embarrassing accidents that can quickly cause rashes and infections. Male incontience is often caused by an enlarged prostate, some kind of blockage, or even pelvic floor issues--all of which can usually be resolved with non-surgical interventions, including pelvic floor physical therapy. At NAU Urology Specialists, our pelvic floor physical therapists are very experienced in treating male patients (as well as female ones). Another cause of male urinary incontinence is complications from prostate surgery/removal. Because this surgery often damages your urinary sphincter, leakage can occur. Our providers are well-trained in the surgical repair of this issue with either an artificial urinary sphincter or a mid-urethral sling, both of which have high success rates and are usually covered by insurance. If you or a loved on are struggling with urinary incontinence--no matter how severe--please call us today to learn more about the many options we have, both surgical and non-surgical, for treating this issue!
