Erik Wetterling, Founder and Editor of The Hedgeless Horseman website, joins me to discuss how the derisked junior gold stocks are presenting the most amazing valuation disconnects that we've ever seen.  We start off talking about just how divorced many junior precious metals economic studies are with their “base case” metals price assumptions, from where the spot gold and silver prices actually are at present.  This begs the question of a what a fair base case metals assumption is for PM projects, and if companies and analysts should be doing a better job of comparing these projects at values closer to spot pricing.  We heard for so many prior years in lower metals price environments that we had to deal in the real and value companies based on current metals prices, but now that gold and silver prices are substantially higher, it seems those same people don't want to value the projects based on where metals prices are in the here and now.  The gold producers are going to demonstrating what the actual metals prices can do to their margins in the quarters to come.   In a sea of companies using far too conservative of metals price assumptions in the $1,400-$1,700 levels, we laid out a few companies I sat down with at the Beaver Creek PM Summit that actually did provide both reasonable base case metal price assumptions on their development projects at $1,800-$1,900 gold and $23-$25 silver, but then also provided metal sensitivity data for levels more in alignment with current metals prices at $2,500 gold and $30 silver; like Thesis Gold Inc (TSXV: TAU) (OTCQX: THSGF), Vista Gold Vista Gold Corp. (TSX: VGZ) (NYSE: VGZ), and Skeena Resources Limited (TSX:SKE)(NYSE:SKE).  Some also provided data for the upside potential at $3,000 gold and $35-$36 silver.  In these examples these projects are valued in the current market caps of the companies at a large discount to where the net present value of the projects come in between the $2.3-$4.4Billion ranges.   This just demonstrates how backward-looking the current valuations are on many of these developers and the potential for a sector-wide rerating in many of these derisked projects with defined ounces in the ground and solid economic studies in place.   Wrapping up this lead the conversation in the topic of M&A and if merger or acquisition transactions for these companies at 30%-50% premiums was anywhere close to enough to get a proper valuation multiple on these projects. Dr Uzziel Ndagijimana, Rwanda's Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, presented a ($4.4 billion) budget. Kigali increased its spending plan by 5.6 percent from ($4.1 billion) the previous fiscal year.Rwanda will finance 63 percent of the budget through domestic revenues, while external loans will constitute 24 percent and external grants 13 percent.The budget for the fiscal year 2023/24 will reflect the medium term fiscal path which allows for an increased spending to reach National Strategy for Transformation (NST1) goals while maintaining public debt to sustainable levels.

Senator Godswill Akpabio says oil firms operating in the Niger Delta have defaulted in their statutory remittances to the Niger Delta Development Commission to the tune of $4 billion.Akpabio noted that oil firms operating in the area are expected to provide three per cent of their annual budgets to the commission, but none has complied with this.Akpabio stressed that the Ministry of Niger Delta will take a keen interest in the implementation of the three per cent Petroleum Industry Act compensation to host communities.He stated that the NDDC owes contractors three ₦3 trillion however, explained that not all awarded contracts with costs can be regarded as debt.

He became involved as he recognised this as a once in a lifetime opportunity. The business they created together has now been sold for $110,000000.The valuations of Canadian cannabis companies are ‘what the market pays for them,' says Dave. Investors are beginning to take a more thorough approach to vetting companies, looking for operational excellence and compliance before they invest. There is no room to be grey or black in this industry - companies should aim to be whiter than white, extra compliant, and lead by example in order to fight the stigma surrounding this industry. The industry is growing so rapidly, people are going to extraordinary lengths to gain a stake in the market by the purchasing of overpriced items across many aspects of the market including goods, manufacturing, and growing facilities.CBD has surpassed previously popular search terms such as ‘kombucha', and currently sits just below yoga in terms of popularity. Trends in the USA include: Increased popularity of Ingestibles and drinksMoving away from smoking to vapingThe rise of CBD, as it has become federally legal across all statesAn increased level of operational maturity Focus on customer centricity - having a deep understanding of what the customer wants from their experienceDave predicts that many things will develop in the same way in which they have done in North America, although the market is at a different stage. 70% of internet advertising is through Google and Facebook, which leaves only 30% available for use by the cannabis market. The cost of acquiring a customer this way is incredibly expensive as you are unable to drive traffic from ads.Once eBay and Amazon open up their marketplaces, they will dominate and change the landscape as we know it.

On this episode we continue our discussion from the book The ONE Thing. A common response from Loan Officers when sharing the principles from the book is that it’s impossible focus on ONE thing and to not be interrupted during an average "day in the life" of a Loan Officer. Success does not mean perfection. It’s not about avoiding distraction every minute of every day. The perfect, uninterrupted day is impossible. The goal is to figure out what matters most, and when you’re doing that ONE Thing, eliminate distraction. I time block. If you looked at my calendar, you’d see regular appointments with myself to do my most important work. That’s when I avoid distractions at all costs. Think of it like going to movies. You’re there for ONE Thing—to see the film. Because you’re really clear about that, you turn off your cell phone, you grab snacks in case you get hungry, and you probably even make a pit stop before you go in. All this so you can have an uninterrupted experience. What’s Star Wars ONE Thing? Making awesome movies right? Did you know Star Wars sells $10Billion in movie related toys and apparel but has only grossed about $4Billion from its movies? So making movies is Star Wars ONE Thing. Focusing on that creates an audience of loyal fans and a distribution channel that’s worth billions. When you time block your most important work and treat it like going to movies—you build a bunker around avoiding distraction and amazing things happen. When you start thinking of your days this way, the burden of always having to be “on” diminishes and you end up accomplishing more. How do you discover what your “one thing” is? You simply ask yourself in any given area of your life, “What’s the one thing I can do, such that by doing it everything else is easier or unnecessary?” Of course its not just ONE Thing forever but one step at a time. In other words, absolute focus on that ONE, most important thing at that time that will move your closer to your outcome – one step at a time. Success is sequential, not simultaneous. Its one step at a time; ONE thing at a time; It’s not your one and only thing. It’s the ONE Thing right now. Your ONE Thing is always tied to your destination. At any given moment it is your most levered action – your first domino – that starts it all and gets you the most bang for your buck. We can’t do everything, but we can do ONE Thing that matters most at any given moment in time. Over time, a pattern can emerge around your career, skills and passion. For me, my ONE Thing always comes back to teaching, coaching and sharing content in one form or another. That’s my ONE Thing. What’s your ONE Thing? Listen to today’s episode.
