Prompt the First: The Authoritarian Fourth Turning I've asserted multiple times that the Fourth Turning isn't when autocracy happens: It's the 2nd. And here in the United States, we're about to see if that's really the case. But why do I think that in the first place? https://harpers.org/archive/1941/08/who-goes-nazi/ — From August 1941 "Nazism has nothing to do with race and nationality. It appeals to a certain type of mind." "It is also, to an immense extent, the disease of a generation—the generation which was either young or unborn at the end of the last war. This is as true of Englishmen, Frenchmen, and Americans as of Germans. It is the disease of the so-called 'lost generation.'" Prompt the Second: A Transaction Cost Economics Assessment of the Civil War How the response to the Los Angeles January 2025 wildfires has me thinking https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles - where I got those L.A. counts The entire population in 1790 was just short of 4 million, 700K slaves - 17.8% https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1790_United_States_census The slave population in 1860 (3.95M) was just about equal to the entire population in 1790 (3.92M) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1860_United_States_census (Although the percentage had dropped, a bit: From 17.8 to 12.7 in 1860)) In any case, the Confederacy was larger than the Colonies - twice as large considering whites alone California had been a state for 11 years in 1860, and it was already 379K - the 26th largest state out of 33, well ahead of New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Delaware. Sacramento was the 68th largest city…with 13K people. Prompt the Third: Cassandra A fake fortuneteller can be tolerated. But an authentic soothsayer should be shot on sight. Cassandra did not get half the kicking around she deserved. Lazurus Long, a character created by Robert A. Heinlein https://www.baen.com/chapters/W200408/The_Notebooks_of_Lazarus_Long.htm

“At the core of it George, at some point we all just want better results for human beings … you want to take care of humankind and our mushroom farm partners see us as a vehicle to really help because they believe in the benefits of Psilocybin based mushrooms” Todd Shapiro, CEO - Red Light Holland In an era where mental health has become a global priority, Red Light Holland Corp. (TRIP/TRUFF) stands at the forefront of a significant market evolution. Specializing in premium psilocybin products, the company is not just a business entity but a beacon of hope for those battling trauma, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Their recent financial accomplishments and strategic partnerships paint a picture of a company not just surviving, but thriving in a competitive landscape. MARKET IMPACT AND VISION The company's approach to mental wellness through psilocybin products has resonated deeply within the industry. With a projected market increase from $5B to $12B by 2029, Red Light Holland is not just participating in the market, it's actively shaping it. Their vision extends beyond profit, aiming to revolutionize therapy and offer tangible solutions to pervasive mental health challenges. ANTICIPATED ANNUAL REVENUE RUN RATE OF $16 - $17 MILLION Red Light Holland is a vertically integrated producer of functional mushrooms and mushroom home grow kits in North America and Europe, and a premium brand of psilocybin truffles to the legal, recreational market within the Netherlands, in compliance with all applicable laws. More than just lip service in a world of pretender companies looking to capitalize on the paradigm shift in psychedelics, Red Light Holland is delivering actual financial results and giving guidance for the market to expect a whole lot more. $3.95M in revenue, representing growth of 70% over 2022. $1.7M in gross profit, representing growth of 176% over 2022. $16M - $17M anticipated annual revenue run rate. STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AND TIER-1 RETAIL DISTRIBUTION Red Light Holland's expansion into the Netherlands, Canada, and the USA exemplifies their global vision. The company has established full vertical integration in the Netherlands, offering products like iMicrodose and Maka. Their North American breakthrough, introducing psilocybin truffles to Canada and expanding their product line, showcases their adaptability and foresight. Partnerships with the industry leaders in the production, packaging and sales of mushrooms in Canada, with combined annual production north of 13 million pounds per year and decades of experience, has and will add significant additional revenues, while serving as a potential future production site for naturally occurring psilocybin, if and when regulations permit. Distribution through major retailers like Canadian Tire, Loblaws, Longos and Amazon confirms the company's commercial acumen. THE PARALLEL MISSION TO GROW AND HELP MILLIONS TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE At the halfway mark of our interview, CEO Todd Shapiro becomes visibly moved when discussing the Company's ability to help and change the path of millions, if not tens of millions of people if Red Light Holland executes as planned. The following quote says it all. “I'm going to get emotional. The idea that we have a horse in the race and that we are leading the pack in the small cap space … we have a chance … and we're going to die trying … to make a difference in the world that we've never seen before” FUTURE OUTLOOK "The market for psilocybin products is not just growing; it's evolving, and we are at the heart of this transformation" This quote encapsulates the company's optimism and readiness to navigate the parabolic psychedelic sector. With strategic planning and a focus on mental wellness, Red Light Holland is poised to not just ride the wave of market growth, but to steer it in new and innovative directions.

After leading several successful sales organizations in the telecommunications and software space for almost a decade, John began investing in companies predominantly in the eCommerce arena. A college friend was launching BattlBox in early 2015 and John knew he had to be involved, so he invested in it, offering advice in a limited capacity. BattlBox started to see exponential growth and the demand for John's time increased. In early 2016, John made the decision to step away from his then sales leadership role with a software company to join the BattlBox team in a full-time capacity. In July 2019, The BattlBox Group acquired Carnivore Club, an artisanal meat subscription box. In October of 2021, BattlBox and Carnivore Club were acquired by Emerge Brands for $18.95M. John currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for The BattlBox Group. Producers/Hosts: Jim Campbell and Amy Browne This series is made possible in part by a grant from the Maine Arts Commission Welcome to this edition of Maine: The Way Life Could Be, a series in which we look at challenges and opportunities facing Maine in the lifetimes of people alive today. Affordable housing is a big issue here in Maine, with current residents being priced out of certain areas by people moving here from out of state, purchase prices beyond the reach of average wage earners in all but one county, rents skyrocketing, and short term vacation rentals displacing long term rentals. Today we again hear from area town managers and planners that we interviewed earlier this year, a young person dealing with the issue, and a local real estate agent who fills us in on the trends. With inflation and interest rates complicating things, it’s hard to predict what things will look like in a few years, much less beyond that. Guests: Lane Sturtevant, Participant in January MTWLCB forum Kathleen Billings, Town Manager, Stonington, Maine Mike Cunning, Realtor, Worth Real Estate, Belfast, Maine Jim Fisher, Town Manager, Deer Isle, Maine, and former senior planner with the Hancock County Planning Commission Anne Krieg, Bangor Planning Officer FMI: Trends and Outlooks for the Maine Economy, Maine Association of Mortgage Professionals (presentation), by Amanda Rector, Maine State Economist, June 8, 2022 2021 Homeownership Housing Facts and Affordability Index for Maine, Maine State Housing Authority LD 290, An Act to Stabilize Property Taxes for Individuals 65 Years of Age or Older Who Own a Homestead for at Least 10 Years Airbnb bookings in rural Maine surge to $95M in 2021, Lori Valigra, Bangor Daily News, June 29, 2022 Portland isn't the only place out-of-staters are buying pricey homes, David Marino Jr., Bangor Daily News, June 23, 2022 About the hosts: Jim Campbell has a longstanding interest in the intersection of digital technology, law, and public policy and how they affect our daily lives in our increasingly digital world. He has banged around non-commercial radio for decades and, in the little known facts department (that should probably stay that way), he was one of the readers voicing Richard Nixon's words when NPR broadcast the entire transcript of the Watergate tapes. Like several other current WERU volunteers, he was at the station's sign-on party on May 1, 1988 and has been a volunteer ever since doing an early stint as a Morning Maine host, and later producing WERU program series including Northern Lights, Conversations on Science and Society, Sound Portrait of the Artist, Selections from the Camden Conference, others that will probably come to him after this is is posted, and, of course, Notes from the Electronic Cottage. Amy Browne started out at WERU as a volunteer news & public affairs producer in 2000, co-hosting/co-producing RadioActive with Meredith DeFrancesco. She joined the team of Voices producers a few years later, and has been WERU's News & Public Affairs Manager since January, 2006. In addition to RadioActive, Voices, Maine Currents and Maine: The Way Life Could Be, Amy also produced and hosted the WERU News Report for several years. She has produced segments for national programs including Free Speech Radio News, This Way Out, Making Contact, Workers Independent News, Pacifica PeaceWatch, and Live Wire News, and has contributed to Democracy Now and the WBAI News Report. She is the recipient of the 2014 Excellence in Environmental Journalism Award from the Sierra Club of Maine, and Maine Association of Broadcasters awards for her work in 2017 and 2021. Rivian (RIVN) stock price is up over 7% in the post-market session. The Rivian earnings report indicated -$1.77 in Earnings Per Share and $95M in revenue, missing the estimates. What are the Rivian truck and the Rivian R1T production numbers? "Rivian will need to have about 6,700 cars a quarter to be able to hit their target, which is why the RIVN stock price is spiking now," says Kevin Green. "I don't think that the Rivian stock price matters. Production numbers are important," adds George Tsilis.

*) Zelenskyy urges UNSC to fix accountability Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has told the 15-member United Nations Security Council that "accountability must be inevitable" for Russia. During an address, he accused Moscow's troops of committing what he described as "the most terrible war crimes" since World War Two. Zelenskyy questioned the value of the Security Council, which has been unable to take any action over Russia's attacks because Moscow has a veto power. Zelenskyy also showed footage of dead bodies — including children — he said were victims of Russian atrocities. Russia's ambassador rejected the claims. *) US, allies prepare new Russia sanctions The United States, in coordination with the EU and Group of 7 nations, will roll out new sanctions against Russia in response to alleged atrocities. The measures would include a ban on all new investment in Russia, according to a US official. There would be increased sanctions on financial institutions and state-owned enterprises in Russia, and sanctions on Russian government officials and their family members. *) Sri Lankan president revokes emergency amid protests Sri Lanka's president has revoked a state of emergency after huge protests demanded his resignation over the country's economic crisis. The decree said Gotabaya Rajapaksa revoked orders that had given him sweeping authority to maintain public order, including authorising detentions and seizing property. Rajapaksa had invited all parties to join a unity government after the Cabinet resigned on Sunday night. But the main opposition party rejected the proposal. *) US approves $95M sale of missile defence support to Taiwan The US has announced it has approved the sale of up to $95 million worth of training and equipment to support Taiwan's Patriot missile defence system. The Pentagon said Taiwan will use the proposed training and equipment as a "deterrent to regional threats and to strengthen homeland defence". Taiwan's foreign ministry said the deal would help protect against Beijing's "continuing military expansion and provocation". And, finally... *) Twitter to test longed-for edit button Twitter has announced it will soon start experimenting with an edit button, but only on its monthly subscription service at first. The inability to tweak tweets after firing them off has been a key complaint among users. Word that the company would start testing an edit feature came after newly named board member Elon Musk conducted a poll. In a tweet, Musk asked if people wanted an edit button. Nearly 4.4 million votes were cast, some 73 percent of them saying "yes".
As usual, the Hot Rod Blues podcast is a study in grown men with ADHD as the conversations turn on the shortest notice. The boys get started with an update on Shawn's ‘50 Merc. Javi gets a late start with a Red Bull. Mike wears a three-piece suit and ponders why metal fabricators don't get the media hype? Is Jim Morrison alive or dead, and what happened to his GT500? The Hirohata Merc goes for $1.95M at auction. They ponder the origin of Memphis slang words. And the big news is that the Hot Rod Power Tour and Drag Week will both be hitting Memphis this year. The Hot Rod Blues Podcast, based in Memphis, Tennessee, “The “Home of the Blues,” is an entertaining group of hot rod enthusiasts from very different upbringings who are brought together by their love of cars. Even though the podcast is tied to cars, there is nothing off-limits when these four get together. The conversations often run the gamut like a 10-year-old with ADHD but it is always fun. The Hot Rod Blue Podcast is co-hosted by Shawn Brereton of Auto Enthusiast Network, Mike Abbott of Steel Rose Metal Co, Javier Augustine of Bomber Steel Customs, and Shawn Young of Kingfish Metal Works. The New Orleans Saints are looking to get healthier but the Dallas Cowboys have their own concerns. How health will play a major factor in Thursday's matchup and more on Taysom Hill's contract including how it saves the Saints money in 2022 and the long road to the full $95M payout.Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram, and Ryan Ramczyk have all returned to practice according to local media, but Terron Armstead was missing again after having returned last week. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys are dealing with an outbreak which has led to eight players/coaches (so far) heading to reserve lists, including Head Coach Mike McCarthy.Another in-depth look at Taysom Hill's contract and how it saves the Saints money in 2022 and the long road to cashing out as much money as possible from the $95M version of his hybrid deal.Follow & Subscribe to the Locked On Saints Podcast on these platforms…
Akoustis (AKTS) makes next-generation silicon RF filter semiconductor chips and modules and is today's 360 spotlight. Jeff Shealy, Founder and CEO of Akoustis, gives an overview of the company. He also talks about AKTS's 1Q revenue which came in at $1.87M versus an estimated $1.95M. Tune in to find out more.
The New Orleans Saints and Taysom Hill have agreed to a contract extension keeping the dynamic playmaker in New Orleans for the next four season. The contract amount will be dependent upon what position he plays moving forward.Taysom Hill's 4-year $40M deal could escalate to as high as $95M if he becomes the Saints' starting quarterback in 2022 and beyond. Hill will also see $22.5M of guaranteed money in either iteration. The New Orleans Saints, Mickey Loomis, and cap guru Khai Hartley have put together another innovative way to maintain a top weapon. The Saints are not new to cap gymnastics and creative approaches to new contracts. They innovated a new way to handle fifth-year options with Marshon Lattimore's contract before his extension and the infancy of this wrinkle can be found in right tackle Ryan Ramczyk's extension which includes incentives if he makes 1st-team all-pro at left tackle as opposed to his natural position on the right side. This is a very interesting deal for Taysom Hill and the Saints, but does it mean anything in the immediate future? Could this be a signal of the Saints wanting to look at Taysom at signal caller now before those incentives could kick in in 2022? Or will there be more complications to get him in the position this year?Follow & Subscribe to the Locked On Saints Podcast on these platforms…
