Ever feel like your prayers are hitting a wall or like they go unanswered? What's really going on? Let's dive into why some prayers seem unanswered. How can we tune into God's will? EASY TO GIVE at Harmony, text any amount to (859) 459-0316 to get started (or give online @ my.harmonychurch.cc/give). OPENING ILLUSTRATION: I was telling my son the other day that when I was in high school I had gone on this trip and was staying in a hotel room with one of my best friends - we were seniors, and this freshman kid we didn't know very well.  I came back from breakfast and went into the bathroom to use the bathroom and saw that the toilet was really clogged.  I asked the two guys who did it and both of them denied it.  My friend, who I trusted was like, “There was no way I did that… it's disgusting”  The freshman was like, “Well, it wasn't me…” so, I did what any senior in a position like that would do, I believed my buddy and told the freshman he had to go down to the front desk and tell them what he'd done and get someone to come un clog the toilet…  this poor kid was like, “really,” I was like, “if you do the crime, you have to do the time!”  lol.  He left and went downstairs.  I turned to my buddy and I was like, “Man, I can't believe that kid wouldn't just admit he did it…”  That's when I realized I'd made a critical error, my buddy with an evil grin looked at me and said, “That's because he didn't!”   I was so mad at him, he had totally let me blame this kid - and shame this kid for something he didn't do… You ever experienced that - taken the fall for something you didn't do? WE: Maybe at work, your boss made it out like her idea that failed was actually your idea and you just had to go along with it? Anyone who has an older sibling has been blamed for something that kid did -when I was like 8 I scratched a big “K” into the inside of my closet door - my younger sister later moved into that room - Katie, and guess who got blamed for it… lol -Or maybe your kids blame you for everything that went wrong in their life as though they had no part in the direction their life took We all know what it's like to be blamed for something we didn't do… but get this, so does God… See, one of the most common reasons I hear for people walking away from God has to do with them believing God did something He didn't do… I don't know how many people I've met who walked away from God because of unanswered prayers… b Sickness that wasn't healed, loss that wasn't avoided, pain & suffering that was not removed… b The underlying theology is: “A Good God would have done something about __________ for me…  He'd have answered my prayers” I know that's not the only reason, but let's assume it's a major one Why is it that some prayers seem to go unanswered? b Is it that just God isn't good? or is something else going on? 3 of the top reasons prayers go unanswered The reasons I'm about to share with you are not mutually exclusive The first reason prayers go unanswered: You're experiencing spiritual warfare and you don't know it… My experience is the average person has not spent a lot of time thinking about how the spiritual realm works in Modern America… ILLUSTRATION: It's kind of like when you were a kid and your parents would say “Just wait till your an adult, it's so much harder than you know - you have it easy right now.” That kid can't understand because they've never lived in the adult world. Most Christians don't take much time to live in the spiritual and think about it…. Let me show you something that took place in the book of Daniel, it gives us a sneak peak behind the curtain of the spiritual… Daniel was in a rough spot and had been praying to God and gotten no response… Listen to the response he ends up getting - this is an angel speaking to Daniel: Dan 10:12-14 12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.” The answer to Daniel's prayer was delayed 21 Days because the Angel in charge of delivering the message was in a battle with an evil spirit.   b Sometimes what you are experiencing as God being silent or not answering is a direct result of God letting the battle for good and evil play out in the spiritual realm… b Sometimes the answer might be to pray for God to send more angelic forces to war for you. -Jesus says the angels of children see the face of God - we used to pray for God to send his biggest baddest angels to protect our children… Look, I know this is a more robust picture of the spiritual realm than most of you have probably been willing to step into, but it is very clearly what Paul is asking people to step into when he says: Ephesians 6:11-13a 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God Not every unanswered prayer, or silent period you experience is because God isn't working, rather it's because you are in a war with a desperate foe… The second reason prayers go unanswered: Your request isn't in the will of God James 4:2-4 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. 4 You adulterous people,[a] don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Sometimes you don't have to because you're more worried about yourself than the Kingdom of God (you say to God “my will be done”)… John actually says when we ask according to God's will, your prayers are a “yes” or at least they are heard… 1 John 5:14-15 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. This means you have to know and understand the will of God… “Well, how do I do that Kent?” Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. ILLUSTRATION: The most powerful example of this is when Jesus is in the Garden of Gethsemane - He is about to be arrested and go to the cross to be crucified - do you know what he prays? “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me, yet not my will be done, but yours”… Can I tell you a secret - the cup is not taken from Jesus - that blows me away that Jesus' prayer is technically answered - but it's answered with a “I'm sorry son…” as a matter of fact on the cross Jesus will quote psalm 22, “my God my God, why have you forsaken me…” The third reason prayers go unanswered: You're not in the will of God Oof, that's a tough one… Some of you have treated God as though He is your magic spell book, there to use when you need Him and then put Him away on a shelf until you need Him again… I'm just here to tell you, that's not who God is… He is the one who speaks things into being that did not exist, he's the one who calls things that are not as though they are.   Jesus is not your get-out-of-jail-free card to be played whenever you desire… He is fierce and a warrior, He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth and He has already done the only one thing that can truly restore mankind - he died to rescue you and me from death, from hell, from sin, and to give us new life - to walk with Him.  He did all this to restore the broken relationship between God and man. Jesus didn't come to heal every sickness, or prevent every loss - He knew if He did that He'd have to end it all…  If He's going to stop wickedness, He needs to get rid of those who do wickedness - or He needs to infect them with a virus that will sweep through the system and write a whole new operating system into their hard drives…  And that's why He does - He comes to give new life - that's His will - not to destroy but to restore.   And so some of you are outside God's will and you're prayers are going unanswered because what He is really wanting to do is to restore you… He wants you - died for you…

It is hard to believe that we have now come to the last ten chapters in this wonderful book of Psalms. As I have been reading through the Psalms over the years and especially these past couple of weeks I have noticed a recurring theme throughout the book. David, who wrote more than half of the psalms is constantly crying out for God to help him as he faces difficult trials and desperate situations. It is a repeated theme, over and over again, that you can't help but see. David did have some wonderful highlights in his life, like when he killed Goliath and became a national hero overnight. But for most of his life after that he was plagued with trouble, evil and wicked men who sought to destroy him, family issues beyond imagination with even his own son leading an insurrection against him. God had a special way of keeping David humble and totally dependent upon the LORD for deliverance and help. Honestly that is the best position to be in ourselves! When we understand that we desperately need God every day of our lives and in deep humility acknowledge our total dependance upon Him, we will find like Paul, that when we are weak then we are strong because it then that the power and glory of God is reveal to us and in us! God uses circumstances, uses people and a host of other things to get our attention so that we will keep our eyes upward looking to Him in our desperation for the help we need! Psalm 141 ties into the two previous psalms with this theme. In Psalm 139 after David speaks of how God marvelously and wonderfully created him, all of a sudden he cries out in verse 19, “Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God! Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men.” Psalm 140 begins with, “Deliver me, O LORD, from evil men; Preserve me from violent men, Who plan evil things in their hearts; They continually gather together for war.”   Psalm 141 begins with, “LORD, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You”. The enemy was after David again and he needed immediate help. It has been suggested that David wrote this psalm after his cave experience with Saul (1 Sam. 24), or perhaps he wrote it when he was away from the sanctuary during Absalom's rebellion. This psalm reveals David making a number of wise decisions as he faced the attacks of the enemy. He does at least five things. First in verse 1-2, David determines to seek the LORD's help. Whenever the enemy caused trouble, David's first response was to pray. "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (27:1). He was a man with spiritual insight who understood that he could pray and worship God even if he was away from the sanctuary and had no priest to assist him. Each evening, the Jewish priest would offer a burnt offering on the brazen altar and also burn incense on the golden altar, but God accepted David's prayer and uplifted hands. Frankincense was usually included with the burnt offering. (See Ex. 30:1-10, 34-38; Lev. 2:2.) Incense is a picture of prayer going up to the Lord (Rev. 5:8; 8:4). David's hands were empty but his heart was full of love for the Lord and faith in His promises. Both Ezra (Ezra 9) and Daniel (Dan. 9) prayed at the time of the evening offering. After the second temple was built, this psalm was read when the evening sacrifices were offered and the lamps were lit in the holy place. My friend, in the time of our desperation the first thing we should do is also seek the Lord with our whole heart! “I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34:4) God bless!

"He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.” The middle chapters of the Book of Revelation, 10-14, are also describing events that take place in the middle of the Tribulation. Here in Rev. 13:1, there is a “beast that comes up out of the sea”, who is also called the Antichrist. In Rev. 13:11, there is another “beast that comes up out the earth”, who is also called the “false prophet.” What we learn in the above verses is that the false prophet will exercise the same kind of demonic power and authority as the Antichrist does, since both are empowered by the same hellish source. That he exercises his authority in Antichrist's presence implies that Antichrist will have delegated that authority to him. The false prophet's mission will be to use all the means available to him from the Antichrist to cause the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast. He will lead the worldwide cult of Antichrist worship. The false prophet's efforts to promote the worship of the Antichrist will receive a tremendous boost from a startling, spectacular event: the apparent healing of the first beast's (Antichrist's) fatal wound (v. 3; 17:8). Some commentators believe that the false prophet was able to duplicate the resurrection of the two witnesses by resurrecting the Antichrist from the dead. It is possible that when the Antichrist overcame the two witnesses and killed them that he was mortally wounded and died. That's when this false prophet shows up and resurrects him from the dead. Others believe that the whole world watch this fight with the witnesses and saw him receive a “deadly wound”. But that his “death and his resurrection” was staged and only a ruse. Either way, the world sees all this and is deceived by the false prophet and are now willing to worship the “first beast”, the Antichrist. It is at this time, that the Antichrist breaks the peace treaty with Israel and seeks to destroy them. But God protects them, and they flee to the wilderness to a place prepared for them. Then the Antichrist and the false prophet perform their next sign which is “the abomination of desolation" mentioned by Daniel (Dan. 9:27; 11:36), Jesus (Matt. 24:15), and Paul (2 Thes. 2:4). What is "the abomination of desolation"? It is the image of "the beast," set up in the temple in Jerusalem. An idol is bad enough; but setting it up in the temple is the height of all blasphemy. Since Satan could not command worship in heaven, he will go to the next best place—the Jewish temple in the Holy City (see Dan. 8:9-14). Then the false prophet will miraculously make the idol, the image of the Antichrist to speak by giving it breath. He will also demand that everyone worship this image and if they don't, they will be killed. The question often gets asked if Satan can do miracles. And of course, the answer is yes. Remember when Moses had Aaron thrown down his rod and it became a snake, that the magicians of Pharoah were able to duplicate this miracle with their rods. But also remember, that Aaron's snake ate up their snakes, proving that God is the ultimate power and authority. Today, there are many false prophets who call themselves ministers who even sometimes do miraculous things. But just because they can perform a sign or miracle, you should not believe them. They usually are simply drawing attention to themselves and want your money. Jesus said we don't need a sign! He gave us what we needed when He died on the cross and resurrected the third day! That is His Great Sign! God bless!

Hello and welcome to Lechem Panim. Today we will be continuing our study of Acts chapter 18. So if you have your Bible, go ahead and turn with me there. You will remember that Paul has (most recently) entered into the city of Corinth, the political and commercial center of Greece. And it is here that he works as a tentmaker alongside a Jewish man and woman (Aquila and Priscilla) who themselves have been driven out (as all the Jews were) from Rome. And so during the week they make leather tents (and perhaps other leather items as well) and sell them. But on the Sabbath Paul would reason in the synagogue with the Jews and Gentiles who had gathered there to worship and persuaded some of them of the truth of the Gospel. Now Silas and Timothy eventually arrive. And 2 Corinthians 11:9 tells us that they do so bringing financial aid. And this allowed Paul to be more freed to devote himself fully to preaching the Gospel. But enemies had set themselves against Paul; and Paul had faced the rejection of many of his own people, most recently here in Corinth. And so it is a time of discouragement. And he may be wondering how he is ever going to do what God has called him to do. But God gave Paul an amazing promise that extends to you and me as well. And today I would like to take a look at that promise. Remembering 9/11— You know, most of you (myself included) remember right where you were when you heard the news that terrorists had hit the World Trade Center buildings on 9/11. It's a day we will never forget. But recently I read (I think for the first time, though I had seen part of it before) the 911 call from United Airlines Flight 93, where a very terrified passenger by the name of Todd Beamer was frantically telling the dispatcher about the hijacking of their plane. And the dispatcher confirmed for him what he had already heard, that hijackers had crashed two planes into the World Trade Center and that both towers were gone. “Oh God —help us!” he said. She told him that a third plane was taken over by terrorists, who crashed it into the pentagon; and his plane may also be part of their plan. Then Todd, in shock, asked the dispatcher (whose name was Lisa) to call his pregnant wife (whose name, surprisingly, was also Lisa) and their two boys, tell them what happened, and tell her that he loves her and will always love her; and to tell his boys that their daddy loves them and that he is so proud of them. Later in the call another dispatcher joins in the conversation. Goodwin: Hello Todd. This is Agent Goodwin with the FBI. We have been monitoring your flight. Your plane is on a course for Washington, DC. These terrorists sent two planes into the World Trade Center and one plane into the Pentagon. Our best guess is that they plan to fly your plane into either the White House or the United States Capital Building. Todd: I understand…hold on……I'll…….I'll be back.. Lisa: Mr. Goodwin, how much time do they have before they get to Washington? Goodwin: Not long ma'am. They changed course over Cleveland; they're approaching Pittsburgh now. Washington may be twenty minutes away. Todd: (breathing a little heavier) The plane seems to be changing directions just a little. It's getting pretty rough up here. The plane is flying real erratic….We're not going to make it out of here. Listen to me….I want you to hear this….I have talked with the others….we have decided we would not be pawns in these hijackers suicidal plot. Lisa: Todd, what are you going to do? Todd: We've hatched a plan. Four of us are going to rush the hijacker with the bomb. After we take him out, we'll break into the cockpit. A stewardess is getting some boiling water to throw on the hijackers at the controls. We'll get them….and we'll take them out. Lisa, …..will you do one last thing for me? Lisa: Yes…What is it? Todd: Would you pray with me? They pray: Our father which art in Heaven Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive our trespassers, And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory Forever…..Amen The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want… He makes me to lie down in green pastures He leads me beside the still waters He restores my soul He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for thou art with me….. Todd: (softer) God help me…Jesus help me….(clears throat and louder) Are you guys ready?…….. Let's Roll…………………… Thou Art With Me— And of course we know that Todd and the other passengers succeeded. They (at the cost of their own lives) were able to overcome the terrorists and crash the plane, saving God knows how many lives in what is no doubt one of the greatest acts of heroism in American history. Now I cannot imagine how afraid Todd and those passengers must have been. Yet they were somehow able to rise above that fear and take action. And the secret to that courage might be found in the last words Todd prayed from Psalm 23: for thou art with me. I don't know if there are any more encouraging words in scripture than those; to know that in the midst of whatever we face, God is with us. Perhaps that is why God has seen fit to interweave this promise throughout all of scripture. He says in… Genesis 28:15 ESV— Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Joshua 1:9— "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Isaiah 41:10— "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 43:2 ESV— When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Deuteronomy 31:6— "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Zephaniah 3:17— "The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” Matthew 28:20— "Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” A Promise That Carries Us— It is this promise of God to be with us no matter what that can help us to carry on His work in the face of the most intense trials and persecutions. And it is no surprise that it is this promise that God gives to Paul as he is no doubt discouraged from his having faced rejection and adversity in just about every place he has been ministering in, most recently from his Jewish brothers there in Corinth. And so God comes to him by night and appears to him in a vision. It says in… Acts 18:9-10 (NKJV)— 9 Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.” A Dark Situation— Now the reason that God said this was because remember that recently Crispus, the synagogue ruler, converted to faith in Christ in and through the ministry of Paul. And that was great, because it opened up more opportunities for Paul to evangelize. But it also brought more opposition from the enemy. The unbelieving Jews in Corinth were furious at Paul's success and set themselves against him and his ministry with the aim to silence and get rid of him. Now Luke does not give us much detail on this, but it seems that between verses 8 and 9 the situation has become especially difficult and dangerous for Paul; so dangerous that Paul may have even been thinking about leaving Corinth altogether, as he had been forced to do from some of the other cities he had ministered in. But, as we have been talking about, God always provides encouragement when we need it most. And that encouragement can come through His Word, through the ministry of other people, or even directly from God through prayer. But no matter how He does it, God speaks to us when we need Him most. And God tells Paul that because He is with him, he doesn't need to be afraid, but can speak freely without feeling like he needs to keep silent in order to be safe. Fear Not— Now there have probably been times in your life when you have heard God speaking a soft and tender “Fear not!” into your life to quiet your heart and give you peace amidst the storms of life. “Fear not!” [is the way He assured Abraham (Gen. 15:1), Isaac (Gen. 26:24), and Jacob (Gen. 46:3), as well as Jehoshaphat (2 Chron. 20:15–17), Daniel (Dan. 10:12, 19), Mary (Luke 1:30), and Peter (Luke 5:10).] And that is how God assures us as well. “it is a fact!”— [British preacher G. Campbell Morgan used to read the Bible each week to two elderly women. One evening, when he finished reading the closing words of Matthew 28, Morgan said to the women, “Isn't that a wonderful promise!” and one of them replied, “Young man, that is not a promise—it is a fact!”] Paul Experiences “Immanuel”— And that was definitely a fact for Paul. [Jesus had already appeared to Paul on the Damascus road (Acts 9:1–6; 26:12–18) and also in the temple (Acts 22:17–18). Paul would be encouraged by Him again when he was imprisoned in Jerusalem (Acts 23:11) and later in Rome (2 Tim. 4:16–17). Our Lord's angel would also appear to Paul in the midst of the storm and give him a word of assurance for the passengers and crew (Acts 27:23–25).] And this really shows that the title we call Jesus by (especially during Christmas time), “Immanuel—God with us” (Matt. 1:23) is a name that our Savior really lives up to. And I want to tell you today that Jesus is with you. And therefore you can take courage. One hymn speak this Word of God into our lives like no other: “Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed, For I am thy God, and will still give thee aid; I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.” “When through the deep waters I call thee to go, The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow; For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless, And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.” Know this week that Christ is with you in whatever you are facing; and that, if you abide in Him, He will do His work through you. Amen.

Let's take a six-minute look at The Model Prayer. This, then, is how you should pray. This does not mean to pray only these words, but to pray in this way, remembering the general topics of worship, request for both physical and spiritual needs, confession, and repentance of sins. This episode provides discussion of how one might pray using scripture text in Matthew 6:5-13. Our LORD prayed privately (Mark 1:35); so, did Elisha (2 Kin. 4:32ff.) and Daniel (Dan. 6:10ff.). Note: a request that is repeated does not make it a "babbling on," for both Jesus and Paul (26:36-46; 2 Cor. 12:7,8) repeated their petitions. A request becomes "babbling" if it is only words without a sincere heart desire to seek and do God's Will. [The Wiersbe Study Bible]

Regarding the last chapter of Daniel (Dan. 12):(1) The chapter division (which was not part of the original text) obscures the flow of the passage. Daniel 11:40–45 should be read with Daniel 12:1–4. As is pretty common in Hebrew prophecy, a vision of future history (Dan. 11:2–39) suddenly slips over into a longer perspective. The expression “At the time of the end” (Dan. 11:40) is ambiguous: it could refer to the end of the oppression of Antiochus IV Epiphanes, but several elements in the paragraph stretch way beyond his brief years—and Daniel 12:1–4 announces resurrection at the end of history, before which a period of terrible distress must take place. This confirms the canonical importance of the preceding chapter (see yesterday's meditation): in Daniel, the people of God learn to suffer for no other reason than their allegiance to the Word of God. In the closing verses of the chapter (Dan. 12:5–13), there again seems to be anticipation of another like Antiochus IV Epiphanes. The reference to “time, times, and half a time” (Dan. 12:7) probably means “a year, [two] years, a half a year”—i.e., three-and-a-half years, just as in Daniel 8:14 with respect to the cruel rage of Antiochus. It has thus become a conventional way of speaking of a shortened period of extreme suffering through which the people of God must go before God relieves them—and this is in anticipation of the final suffering at the end (Dan. 12:1).(2) The closing up and sealing of the scroll until the time of the end (Dan. 12:4, 9) does not signal esoteric knowledge. Partly it has to do with preserving the scroll intact. It also suggests that the full sweep of its anticipatory and prophetic truth will not be grasped until the events to which it refers arrive on the scene. Even when the events break out, some will not see—just as some did not “see” what Jesus was saying in his parables (Matt. 13:14–15), and some do not “see” what the Gospel is all about (1 Cor. 2:14).(3) In verse 7 the man swears “by him who lives forever.” There are two elements in what this “man clothed in linen” says. First, the tone (attested by the oath) combined with the assertion that “all these things will be completed” shows that in the last analysis there are no contingencies with God: he knows the end from the beginning, and can guarantee outcomes. Second, the final relief will come when “the power of the holy people has been finally broken” (Dan. 12:7). It was not broken under Antiochus IV Epiphanes. This must be referring to something at the end, making the reign of Antiochus a ghastly advance shadow of what was to come.(4) Meditate on Daniel 12:1–3. This podcast is designed to be used alongside TGC's Read The Bible initiative (TGC.org/readthebible). A data é 539 a.c. Devocional - D.A CARSON. TGC. Plano de Leitura Robert Murray Mccheyne. M'Cheyne - 1842. Voz: Pr. Paulo Castelan. During the time of Daniel (Dan. 3), the Jews were taken captive by the enemy. King Nebuchadnezzar ordered that at the sound of the music, everyone in the Kingdom must bow to his golden idol image or be thrown into the Fiery Furnace. 100's of thousands of Jews bowed down to avert certain death. They must have thought to themselves, "I'll bow now, and repent later." But only 3 young Hebrew men stood on their feet. They would rather DIE than to betray the Lord God. THE GREATEST PROPHECY EVER GIVEN - PART THREE Daniel 9:24-27 has been called "The Greatest Prophecy Ever Given." It is certainly one of the greatest! It contains an overview of God's special prophetic dealings with Israel from the time of the command to rebuild Jerusalem (see Neh. 2:1-8) until the setting up of the Messianic kingdom. This prophecy is commonly called "The Seventy Weeks of Daniel". A "week" is a unit of seven. Daniel 9 speaks in terms of a week being a unit of SEVEN years. Seventy weeks (units of 7 years) tallies out to a total of 490 years. Outline of the Seventy Weeks of Daniel – Dan. 9:24-27 v. 24 - A Summary Overview of the 70 Weeks v. 25 - 69 Weeks (483 years) culminating in the Triumphal Entry [Past - Has been fulfilled] v. 26 – The GAP period [Present - Being fulfilled] v. 27 – 70th Week (7-year Tribulation Period) [Future - Will be fulfilled] We live at the time of the END! How close precisely we can't say, but Paul in 1 Cor. 10:11 said that we are those “upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” But someone says, “that has been true for 2000 years.” I would agree, but of special note is that Israel is now back in the land reconstituted as a nation. That is a very significant development. In order for “last days” prophecy to be fulfilled Israel once again has to be back in the land. Much of last days prophecy relates to Israel as a nation and to Jerusalem as a city. In order for the 70th week of Daniel to be fulfilled, Israel physically has to be in the land. They are there. In order for Antichrist to sign a 7-year covenant with Israel they have to be in the land. They are there. In order for this development to happen Israel has to be desperate for peace. They are there. Following an unspecified amount of time in the GAP period, characterized by Israel experiencing ongoing war and desolations, comes the FINAL 70th week of God's special prophetic dealings with Israel/Jerusalem. This final 7-year period of time will begin with Antichrist signing a 7-year covenant with Israel as dealt with in Daniel 9:27. Daniel 9:27 (NKJV) 27 Then he [Antichrist] shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.” In my view the stage is right now being set for the 70th week of Daniel. We don’t know when that will happen, but Israel being back in the land is a major stage setting reality. For this reason Israel being back in the land as a nation is called “The Last Days Super Sign”. Antichrist will sign a 7-year covenant with many for one week. "Many" evidently refers to the MAJORITY of the Jews who will enter into this covenant with him. In this covenant Antichrist will evidently guarantee peace for Israel with the liberty to once again build and worship in their temple on the temple mount. This will undoubtedly be heralded as the greatest “peace deal” of all time. Little will Israel realize that this reality is a “covenant with death” as it is called in Isa. 28:15-18 (cf. Zech. 11:15-17). Note the word “covenant” is a very strong word emphasizing a BINDING agreement. It is the very same word God used when He made a covenant with Abram in Gen. 15:18. But then in the middle of the week (that is 3 and ½ years in) Antichrist pulls one of the greatest “double-crosses” of all time as he breaks this STRONG covenant by going into the rebuilt Jewish temple and declaring himself to be God (cf. Dan. 7:25; Rev. 13:5-8). 2 Thessalonians 2:4 (NKJV) 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. When Daniel 9:27 says, “on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate”, note that this is the phrase Jesus referenced as “the abomination of desolation” spoken of by Daniel in Matt. 24:15. The word “wing” is thought to refer to the high point of abomination or perhaps to the idea of “overspreading” in the sense that this one will cover all he does with abomination. Antichrist will carry on until the consummation which is determined is poured out on him, which will be his destruction personally carried out by Jesus at the Second Coming (cf. Dan. 7:11, 2 Thess. 2:8; Rev. 19:20). Note that three times in this text in Dan. 9:24-27 the word “determined” is found, as seen in verses 24, 26, and 27. None of this is left to “chance”. It is all according to the determined PLAN of God. Just as the first 69 weeks were literally fulfilled to the letter culminating in Jesus being presented as the KING of Israel on Palm Sunday (cf. Zech. 9:9; Lk. 19:28-44); and just as that which relates to the GAP PERIOD involving Christ's death and the destruction of the temple has literally been fulfilled; just as ongoing war and desolations related to the GAP PERIOD is literally being fulfilled; so also, will all that which pertains to the 70th week literally be fulfilled, just as it is determined. They keep saying that we are living in “uncertain times”. They couldn’t be MORE wrong. The times are CERTAIN, and they have a determined outcome. What God has said regarding the Times of the Gentiles has been and is being fulfilled to the letter. What Christ has said regarding the building of His Church is being fulfilled in this the Gap Period. What God has said regarding His special 490-year dealings with Israel has been and will yet be fulfilled to the letter. One final climactic 7-year period (the 70th week) remains to be fulfilled. What God has determined will have a fulfillment! Psalm 33:10–11 (NKJV) 10 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. 11 The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations. The book of Daniel writes in BOLD LARGE PRINT, “GOD IS SOVEREIGN OVER THE TIMES!” He is sovereign over ALL times. Daniel 9:24-27 stands out as a monumental prophetic testament to the reality that God is sovereignly in control of history thus making it ONE OF GREATEST PROPHECIES EVER GIVEN!

Repetition, Word Patterns, and MeaningIn Hebrew thought, there are a number of ways to express ideas thatreinforce meaning and emphasize the importance of concepts. UnlikeEuropean languages, Hebrew contains no punctuation marks in theoriginal language, so the language structure developed other ways tocommunicate such ideas.Read Genesis 1:26, 27 and Isaiah 6:1–3. What words are repeated inthese passages? How are these repeated words enhanced by differ-ent concepts that are introduced through repetition?__________________________________________________________________________________________________________One of the ways that the Hebrew writer could emphasize a certainattribute of God was by repeating it three times. As the Creationaccount comes to the apex of God’s creative work, the text emphasizedthe unique importance of created humanity. The term bara’, “to create,”always has only God as its subject. That is, it is only God that has thepower to create without being dependent on preexisting matter. Herethe text describes the creation of man: “So God created man in His ownimage; in the image of God He created him; male and female He cre-ated them” (Gen. 1:27, NKJV; emphasis supplied). Notice the threefoldrepetition of the word “create.” Moses, thus, emphasized that humanbeings are created by God and that they are created in His image, aswell. These truths were his emphasis. In Isaiah’s vision and call, the seraphim repeat the words “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts” (Isa. 6:3). The emphasis is on the holinessof an awesome God whose presence fills the temple. We also see thisholiness through the words of Isaiah, as he stands in the presence ofthe Almighty: “Woe is me, for I am undone!” (Isa. 6:5, NKJV). Evena prophet like Isaiah, confronted with the holiness and character ofGod, cringed at his own unworthiness. Thus, even here, long before wehave Paul’s exposition on human sinfulness and the need of a Savior(Romans 1–3), we can see the Bible giving expression to the fallennature of humanity, even in a “good” person such as Isaiah. In Daniel 3, we have a repetition (with variations) of the phrase “theimage which Nebuchadnezzar set up” (Dan. 3:1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 12, 14, 15,18, NKJV). This phrase, or variations of it, is repeated 10 times in thechapter to contrast Nebuchadnezzar’s action in defiance of the imageGod revealed to him through Daniel (Dan. 2:31–45). The emphasishere is on humanity’s seeking to make itself into a god to be worshiped,in contrast to the only true God, the only One worthy of worship.

What are some key indicators that need to be considered? In your new product Active Relay, could you share with us what are some ways you try to humanize that experience even though it’s automated? On a global level, how do you feel about customer service/ customer experience? What are some every day solutions that you would recommend to a small business owner to help them improve their customer experience? If you have a customer who wants to migrate from their existing email marketing plan with Aweber, Constant Contact etc, - would Active Campaign facilitate that migration? Please give us an example of how Zapier works and what does it really mean for a small business? How do you stay motivated everyday? What are some books that you have read that contributed to your success along your journey? What’s the one thing that’s going on in your life that you are really excited about that you are working on develop yourself or your people? Where can our listeners find you online? What is quote or saying that helps you stay on track and re-focus during times of adversity?   Highlights Dan de Witte stated that he officially launched a brand new tech product called Active Relay. He has moved from his coaching base platform into another SAS (Software as a Service). He stated that he would be where he’s at if the internet didn’t exist and that the crakes of what he does and stated that that’s inspiring, for instance, we’re doing this podcast over Skype when I’m in Jamaica and he’s in Australia and there’s nothing more inspiring and powerful than that. He loves adventure spots and love getting out has much as he can from the computer, although of lately he hasn’t had enough time away from the computer because of the launch of the new product but that’s definitely one of the aspects he enjoys in life because that’s the ultimate goal, creating these digital businesses or businesses that are enabled by the Internet is to give us more time, more freedom so that we can do the things that we love and enjoy doing but also spend time with family and friends that are valuable in our life. As an online Entrepreneur, Dan shared that branching into the online space can be overwhelming to start because there’s all the flashy whiz tool and everyone trying to tap the next best thing that you should jump on and use and he’s a big believer of simplicity, so starting with one platform and working your way up from there. To tie that in with the customer experience is humanizing that whole aspect. We can get caught up in creating automations and automated business processes that we end up automating ourselves or working ourselves out of the business which is a blessing and a curse at the same time, it’s a blessing because it gives us more time to and more freedom but a curse on the same token, we lose the one to one connectivity as you would if you were a traditional brick and mortar base business where you can actually build that relationship by a simple hand shake, exchange of a business card. When you go online, it becomes a lot of smoke and mirrors and one of the challenges a lot of businesses faces is making sure that they are messaging what they do in the offline space, the brick and mortar space is the same as what it would be in the online space and as humanizing as possible because at the end of the day, all we want to do is be a part of a community and what you are building in your brick and mortar businesses regardless if it’s Joe’s Tire Shop down the road, he’s got a community of people that come back to him time and time again because they built the relationship and what we want to do is to try and replicate that relationship in the online space. Dan shared some background information on his new product Active Relay, it is a payment platform that is designed around a CRM called Active Campaign, so they are the payment platform element of an email marketing CRM. They are selling digital products and digital services and even physical base products online, it’s quite a challenge for you the user to sell something without having to do a lot of configurations, multiple third party tools and at the end of the day it stacks up and become expensive for you the user or the seller of whatever you sell. The whole goal of Active Relay was to simplify and enable people to sell online smarter, better, faster. The second element to that is bridging the customer experience and making that 10 times faster. In the online payment space, which is where Dan is heavily focusing his energy is in that ecommerce space and around how can he bridge the relationship that they have offline and taking that online to becoming what they call a lead in the online space as well or an email prospect is taking that person from being just an email prospect to actually giving you their credit card over the Internet because that’s the next step, getting that credit card information from them. He stated that he is not going to go up to someone random in the street and go, “Will you marry me?” because 9 times out of 10 they are going to say no. There are the people that first move or advantage are the opportunist but 9 times out of 10, if someone walked up to you and asked you to marry them, you more than likely would say no. It’s the exact same in the online space, so what they have done in Active Relay is, they are enabling people to sell things online faster and smarter and simpler but they are also shortening the checkout experience depending on the experiences of people who listen to the podcast, when you purchase things online, you generally have to go find the product, add the product to the cart, confirm that’s the product you want in the cart then go to checkout and go through 2 or 3 steps in the checkout before you get your product. What Active Relay is design to do is put all of that onto the one page, so you clink on the link to buy the product, the product is on the order form, the information you need to fill out is on the order form, you it buy, you then get funneled into the Active campaign CRM and away you go. That’s how they have shortened that experience and taking that journey from being a bit of a barrier. What people have been finding online is that multiple steps or doing more than one thing at once, it becomes a real blocker in the space and everyone’s lazy and if it seems too hard, then we are going to cut away from it. He stated that you can take people on a wild journey and that’s the most exciting thing for him in the online space. You get to control the whole journey, you can do that in the offline space as well but you have a lot more control in the online space because they don’t get to ask you anything back, you get to tell them what they are doing on the next step, you give them the options, “Do you want to do this? Yes or No” you’re not doing “Do you want to do this? Yes or No or Maybe” that “maybe” is a lot of hesitation. So they want to make it as simple as possible for people to purchase your product online or even just be in your community online. Dan shared that he just got back from around the world trip and using the brick and mortar, the United States customer experience is phenomenal compared to Australia. He stated that Australia’s customer service is rubbish. He remembers walking into a classic American diner in New York, there was a lunch line waiting to get in and they put their names down on the list and waited to be seated and the head waiter /seater remembered their names and 45 minutes later after they had left and he was like “thanks Daniel and Lauren, I hope you enjoy the rest of your travels and safe travels back to Australia.” In the amount of time that he sat them down, sat 30 or 40 other people in the diner and he still remembers his name. They left the diner saying “that’s really cool”. That whole experience was amazing, just simply by remembering their name and you can do little things like that in the online space where you can send an automated sequence of emails and have someone’s first name in it because it feels more personal, the connection is more genuine and then you go to a café in Australia and it’s like “Good morning, what would you like?” that’s it, there’s no effort to build some form of relationship and then they deliver you the stuff and there’s no “enjoy”.  He stated that there are restaurants in Australia that are fantastic but the general consensus of the diners in Australia, the customer experience isn’t there from a personality stand point. Yanique stated that something as simple as remembering the customer’s name is very important. It’s powerful because regardless of where we are from in the world or what language you speak or what culture we are from, we all have something that is unique to us and that’s what people call us by and so you give someone your name, it’s important to use it and use it properly because it differentiates the experience and it sets that whole experience a part. Looking at what Daniel remembers from his trip, the food could have been good but he didn’t mention that the food was great, he mentioned that the fact that waiter was serving 30 or 40 other tables and he remembered you and your guest names and that’s what stood out in his mind. It is always the little things that separate the really good companies from the ones that doing the bare minimum. Daniel shared some everyday solutions for small businesses online to improve their customer experience – being authentic on Facebook and authentically telling the story of you, if you are one that always wear make-up everywhere and you’re all about the make-up and the aesthetics, then you need to genuinely portray that online in Facebook videos and pictures but if you are a person who loves building the relationship around who you are and authentically portraying that, you win as well. It’s like picking your digital persona to resonate what you are in real life because people can smell fake from a mile away. When you look at portraying your image online, you want to make sure that it is as authentic as you are in real life. The way to do that is to test it with your audience, ask your audience, “What do you think of our new website or what do you think of our new eBook or guide that we just release in the market space?” the ones that care will tell you and the ones who don’t care aren’t customers you’re going to have long term. He shared that in regards to tools that you must have – Active Campaign which is an email marketing CRM because you want to keep in contact with your people regardless if you own a brick and mortar business or not because at the end of the day we are all playing on out mobile phones, we’re all checking Facebook, so if you can be connected with them by simply sending them a email that is just touching base saying, “Hey, how is your day going?” that speaks wonders to building the relationship and you can do all of that with active campaign and it’s a really simply platform to start out, to get you online you looking at USD $9.00 a month. The other tool that he really loves is called Zapier which is a connectivity tool that connects anything that you can think of to anything you can think of in regards to online tools, it’s the junction box for PowerPoints so you can plug in to anything and it’s a great tool for increasing productivity and fast tracking a lot of internal stuff, for example, if a client does something, you want to be notified or if they email in some content, you want to upload it to something else, if someone schedules an appointment in your calendar and you want them to go into your email CRM to send them an email saying, “Thank you for booking in a time”, there’s so many things you can do with Zapier. WordPress, there are so many free platform out there to get you up and running like getting your website online but if you really want to increase your speed. He stated that why he recommend WordPress is that you can upload themes, you can connect it to any platform and what WordPress is, it’s essentially a CMS and that stands for Content Management System, so you would have a WordPress installation on your website and that would manage your whole system so that things like your homepage, your thank you page, your blogs and all of that gets managed in the WordPress element of your system. If you couple these 3 together and if they are done in the right way, you’re not only saving yourself time but also money in the process on developing your products and infrastructure but also, you’re improving your customer experience because all 3 applications are designed to make life easier and make life more efficient. Active Campaign would assist in on boarding – customers would have to do the migration themselves but it’s a very simple process. Dan stated he has a Zapier connection that connects an opt in form on his website and it connects to his CRM Active Campaign. He has a pop up on his website and this pop up doesn’t actually connect natively into Active Campaign – so he uses Zapier connection to send the data over. Dan also stated that he uses Slack, which is Facebook Chat for your staff. If a client certain number of actions over a particular time frame for example clicks on 3 emails, reads 4 blogs over the space of two weeks and has not purchased a product from me before. Dan de Witte says he wants Zapier to send a notification to his Slack Team to say, “Hey, can you personally follow up with John Smith because he has done x, y, and z in the last 2 weeks and not purchased a product.” This action shows we have someone on board that is paying attention what is happening and is reaching out to help them have a better experience.   Dan de Witte states that he’s burning the midnight oil as he’s up by 4:30 am most mornings and not in bed until 11:00 pm most nights just because of the launch of Active Relay. Dan states what motivates him is giving other people the opportunity to be more and do more in the online space. Giving others the flexibility, more time to do things that you really enjoy doing! Dan stated your staff in your business, if you are a Brick and Mortar, are your biggest brand ambassadors – if you are not inspiring and leading them then you are shooting yourself in the foot. Dan de Witte stated that he’s not much of book reader as he learns through doing, however, he would recommend Start with Why by Simon Sinek, Dan says anyone who wants to learn who why what you do will sell – this is the best book to read. The Art of the Start by Guy Kiyosaki. Dan further stated he reads a lot online and he learns a lot online. The Book of Daniel (Dan 12:11-12) forewarn us that there is an Interval of 75 days following the day when the Great Tribulation ends and when the Millennial (1,000 year reign of Christ) begins. The Book of Revelation (Rev 12:6) confirms this important interval. This teaching will expound on the important events that must take place during that interval.
