If you're in aviation sales and marketing, you know one thing for sure—selling in this industry takes time. Unlike fast-moving consumer sales, our transactions are complex, high-value, and involve multiple decision-makers. That means most of us spend months—sometimes even years—nurturing potential clients before closing a deal. So, how do you keep your prospects engaged [...]
Whatever feelings we refuse to accept will simply keep agitating us until we accept them. Purification happens when we stop, listen to the body and allow feelings to be just as they are. If we keep doing that, over and over again, the habits of reactivity and clinging are gradually eradicated.
Don't let your defaults go unexamined—the affects of our holding patterns compound over time. Holding patterns, the unconscious positions in the body (and the mind) can develop from stress, injury, or repetitive actions over time. They can also surface as a default response to our own individual structure. Identifying and addressing these holding patterns through mindfulness, play, and feedback can help improve alignment, stability, flexibility, and performance. Like this episode? Three keys to removing toxic patterns and establishing healthy ones.
Dr. Stephen V. continues The Decision Series and in this episode he explains why being in holding pattern that keeps us from taking immediate action/decisive action on a key decision can serve us well and be used strategical to set up us up for even more effective impact. We can avoid being a victim left up to chance in these situations even if we did initiate the conditions that got us into the that holding pattern in the first place. After listening consider the following reflection questions:Reflection Questions:How are you utilizing the times when you are circling your territory targeted for impact, but not yet landing on it to take action? How do I navigate the times I'm forced into a holding pattern — unable to take immediate action like I planned?Need some more concrete support in this areas?ResourcesApril Peters @ Landing on Purpose – https://www.landingonpurpose.com. https://DarkHorseEntrepreneur.com Breaking Free from Life's Holding Patterns: A Journey Towards Proactive Living In the latest episode of the Your Success DNA Podcast, host Tracy Brinkmann invites listeners to embark on a transformative journey, exploring the metaphorical holding patterns that often stifle our true potential and hinder our paths to success. The Skydiving Adventure: A Metaphor for Life's Holding Patterns Tracy shares a compelling personal anecdote about a skydiving adventure, drawing a vivid parallel between the unexpected holding patterns in the sky and the stagnancies we often encounter in our personal and professional lives. The story unfolds as Tracy, stuck in a holding pattern, decides to take control, communicate with Air Traffic Control, and subsequently, finds himself free to navigate towards his destination. This metaphor serves as a powerful reminder that taking proactive steps and breaking free from our own holding patterns can pave the way for magical unfoldings in our lives. Life's Holding Patterns: The Comfortable Trap of Stagnancy Delving deeper, the episode explores various life scenarios where individuals find themselves circling in their own holding patterns. Whether it be in careers, personal growth, or relationships, these comfortable yet limiting loops often go unquestioned and unchallenged. Tracy draws a poignant parallel between the global holding pattern experienced during the pandemic and the personal stagnancies that many encounter, highlighting the urgency and relatability of breaking free and taking control of one's journey. The Power of Taking Control: Stories of Transformation and Success The episode further explores the psychological and emotional shifts that occur when one decides to break free from their holding patterns. Through inspiring stories of individuals who witnessed positive changes upon deciding to exit their holding patterns, listeners are introduced to the concept of the Ripple Effect. Neither the Fed or the Bank of England increased rates this week, after last week's dovish hike by the European Central Bank (ECB). Host Imogen Bachra is joined by Joann Spadigam and Jan Nevruzi to discuss the impact of these hawkish holds on markets and the extent of possible cuts in 2024. Will the narrative of 'higher for longer' be challenged? And how may the central banks reduce their balance sheets? Escaping Life's Holding Pattern and Breaking Free When I learned to fly little airplanes, my training took me into Holding Patterns. Holding Patterns slow aircraft traffic and keep things safe. When a pilot is told to enter a Hold, that's where they stay—flying in circles until Air Traffic Control releases them. That sure sounds a lot like regular life these days. I remember flying a Holding Pattern with my instructor. We were there longer than usual, so I asked, what is taking so long? He said, “Why don't you call them up and tell them you need to get moving?” A few minutes later, I called ATC on the radio and instantly was cleared to head toward my destination - with an apology for the delay. I've never forgotten the lesson. Even in with everything that has happened over the last few years, there's no reason to be stuck in a Holding Pattern. When you decide it's time to get moving, magical things happen. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This week in the podcast, we run through the most interesting things that crossed our desk last week which felt like one in which the equity community collectively exhaled. Two big things you need to know: First, according to the latest Duke CFO survey, the C suite was were becoming more optimistic before SVB and was looking ahead of 2024 as a recovery year, while expectations for sources of inflation were dimming. Second, things that jumped out from our high-frequency indicators last week include the decline in bond market volatility off highs consistent with past bottoms in the stock market and the stabilization of performance for banks and small caps, which suggest to us that sentiment may be starting to heal. Both are good signals for the stock market.

When a plane circles endlessly around a final destination, it is called a holding pattern. Just like the plane that is circling, we can get stuck in holding patterns in our lives. We circle and circle our final destination or goal with no apparent attempt to make progress to reach our final destination. Sometimes, we don't even realize that we are in a holding pattern as we allow complacency or challenging circumstances to prevent our progress. In this episode of The Coach's Corner, I share 5 tips to help you move past holding patterns in your life and make progress on your goals and becoming who you were created to be. Also, we would love for you to join our Patreon community and support the work of this channel and receive bonus perks as well. Check out this link to learn more about how you can help. Show Notes: We can get stuck in holding patterns in our lives. Don't Hold Back! Pursue your best in how you invest your time, talent, and resources. 5 Tips To Break Out of Holding Patterns in Life: Pursue your purpose not a career or job. Live each day with passion and purpose. Make the most of each day. Be structured and disciplined with your time, and don't just go through the motions. Be present in the moment. Don't lament the past or worry about the future. Don't hold back! Paul says in Hebrews 12:2 to lay aside every weight and run our race with endurance. We need to run our race. Don't quit at the starting line. Persevere and endure the messy or mundane middle. Unleash our talent and best self and finish strong! Life is too short and too precious to be stuck in a holding pattern! And just like that airplane that is full of people who waiting to land, people are counting on you to get out of your holding pattern and land the plane opening the door for them to benefit from your legacy and investment in them. David Duchovny – Gestureland Gestureland is a melancholy, occasionally noisy but ultimately beautiful affair, and another creative triumph for its architect: Musician-actor-author David Duchovny. While fans may know him best for his screen work (The X-Files, Californication), Duchovny has carved out a larger creative role over the years, authoring four books and releasing three albums while earning raves (and a dedicated fanbase) for his live shows. While the feelings on Gestureland are intimate, the music is expansive: It evokes 70s California pop, alternative rock, folk and country. “Nights Are Harder Than Days'' serves as a rollickin' album opener (shades of Neil Young here), while “Holding Patterns” is softer and orchestral. And ballads such as “Pacific Coast Highway,” “Tessera” and “Sea of Tranquility” find the singer in a more plaintive realm. In its own right, it's timeless music. “I wouldn't go about imitating anyone,” says Duchovny. “But for me it's about classic rock, the British Invasion, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Aimee Mann — you fall in love with certain sounds.”Most of the album written during a fraught time in our country, reflected most directly on the early single “Layin' on the Tracks,” an urgent rocker the singer released just before the presidential election. Here, lines like “This civil war we've been fighting in/Since before the flood/Yeah, there's part of us that's always been/At home in the blood” feel damn prophetic. “I'd never written a song like that,” he admits. “Politics is not my style, but I leaned into it this time. But it's also personal at the same time — it's both what I need to change myself and where the country is at. And I do believe the personal is political — there's no ‘theme' to the album but I'm always the same animal riding through the songs.”With his two earlier releases (2015's Hell or High Water and 2017's Every Third Thought) Duchovny earned critical acclaim; Allmusic called his music “eloquent, alt-rock-kissed country-folk in the vein of Wilco and the Wallflowers,” while the Boston Globe praised Duchovny's voice, noting “he sings with a parched resonance and just a hint of rasp. He is rather heartfelt.” Duchovny — a songwriter on record with a healthy sense of humor in real life — nods at the compliments but follows his own modest methodology: “I'll finish a record, then I'll sit and listen, and go, yeah! That's really nice melodic stuff. What else do you want?” Helping achieve all these sounds: Colin Lee, Mitch Stewart and Pat McCusker, three former college friends from the Berklee College of Music and longtime studio musicians who have worked with Duchovny on all of his records. “David is so joyful about making music, and his lyrical approach and his way of looking at songs is like poetry,” says Lee. “He creates stuff that excites us as musicians.” “The more we've all worked together, the more we're all taking risks and tapping into new influences,” adds McCusker, pointing to the unique arrangements on the new track (and album standout) “Tessera.” During the pause before the new album's arrival, Duchovny released a new novel, Truly Like Lightning, now in development at Showtime. But like all good musicians, he's anxious to get back on the road and perform these new songs live. “David has so much energy and charisma, it's easy for him to carry the show,” says his bandmate Stewart. “I always get such a kick playing live,” adds the singer. “We make our show into a whole evening, and take people on a journey. I can't wait to do a version of this album for a tour.”

Help me to know that you do some of your greatest work within my soul in the midst of holding patterns in life. Godly character is formed and refined in the midst of waiting on and trusting in you. It’s a great interview – and definitely worth sticking around for. As usual, we also take a look at more of the new releases we’ve received, and this time around we listen to new music from Kate Weekes, Christian Howse, Earle and Coffin, John McCutcheon, BackWest, Rich Krueger and Adam Baxter. Check out the full playlist below.

Sometimes we get to a point in our lives where there seems to be no forward progress. We seem to be at a standstill in our Christian walk with the Lord. No matter how hard we try, we can't move out of our current station in life. There could be a "holding pattern" on our life because of something that we are, or are not, doing. Or, there could be a holding pattern that is being imposed by our Heavenly Father. Before we can get out either holding pattern we must ask ourselves one very critical question: "Do I really want to get out of this holding pattern?" This message could be what you need to bring you to victory.
We all have circumstances in our lives that we are believing God for. Many times we look to our spiritual acts and confessions to bring the breakthrough tat only natural adjustments can bring. In this message, Pastor Casey shows us how to form our lives according to God's word so that we can receive God's promises.

Sometimes we get to a point in our lives where there seems to be no forward progress. We seem to be at standstill in our Christian walk with the Lord, no matter how hard we try, we can't move out of our current station in life. These standstills are often referred to as "holding patterns", similar to an airplane that is circling the airport unable to land due to certain conditions on the ground. What could be keeping you in your holding pattern, what can be done to get you out of this pattern so that you can make some progress in life and become victorious? The answers are in this message, don't miss it!
