Lipstick on people! It's that time of the year when we can all get behind women's mental health research by supporting the incredible Liptember Foundation.  Mental health research, understanding, support and the development of supporting resources is important for all genders; but biological and gender-related differences mean that women can suffer from certain mental health conditions at higher rates than men.  In this episode, Luke Morris from the Liptember Foundation shares with us how the foundation began and why gender specific research is so important. He also reveals surprising statistics on women's mental health in Australia and how funds raised through the foundation are also supporting others on a mission to move the needle on women's mental health.  Learn more or get involved:  https://www.liptember.com.au/ Buy a Liptember Box: https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/139770/liptember-box-2024-online-only The Liptember Foundation: https://www.liptemberfoundation.org.au/ Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/liptember/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Liptember/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Important to note, though, is that transformation is not a single event or initiative—it is really a new way of thinking and behaving. HR leaders, who have long sought to have a "seat at the table" of leadership, are now realizing that they must sit at multiple tables, and sometimes bring their own chair. What does transformation mean in a healthcare HR context to some of today's leading HR executives? How exactly is HR changing in an era of tremendous upheaval, and what is its future? Interview with Bendigo Comedian Luke Morris, who is a returning guest (his first MAA interview was #74 from February 2018). In 2018 Luke was in the RAW competition and performed The Wine Science Show at MICF, and in 2019 he performed the show Love, Sweat and Science. He has also been involved in producing the Bendigo Comedy Festival in October, two years of the Movember Comedy Fundraiser in Bendigo, and the Women of Wit series in Bendigo, which is the only regular all-woman line-up in regional Victoria. In 2020 Luke will be bringing a new and exciting Virtual Reality Comedy experience to Adelaide Fringe and MICF. We discuss: the importance of valuing his own time, discovering the joys of Netflix, deferring his psychology studies to pursue the VR Comedy project, Luke’s revelation that you do not need to keep studying for the sake of the qualification only, positive and negative motivation from having comedy festival deadlines and keeping it all in perspective, appreciating the benefits of comedy on the mental health of audiences, Luke’s new podcast called What To Do After You Die which explores the taboo of talking about death, spiders and ticks and ladybugs, Luke’s super power and the catharsis of the Love Sweat and Science show, and Luke’s message to not listen to other people’s negative messages and be selective about advice you take on board.

Our guest today an entrepreneur and the creator of Wild Body Active and Wild Wood. Crazy birds, without any further ado, I would like to welcome, Luke Morris Episode Highlights[01:10] How did your sustainable journey start? [02:10] When you travel around Asia and there is kids kicking water bottles, plastic bottle on the beach as suppose to footballs, then it kind of stays in your mind. [03:56] What inspired the start of your company Wild Wood? [06:07] I wanted it to be all eco-friendly and sustainable, made from reclaimed wood. [07:02] I also wanted to bring in endangered species into play and give our sunglasses a bit of character as well. [08:30] They are made from recycled bamboo. The bristles are bio-degradable polymer mixed with charcoal so it gives it a natural kind of ingredient but it also is good for removing plaque and for making your teeth white and natural. [10:44] People love the fact that they are named after endangered species and the watches are actually named after rainforests and jungles so that is a different dynamic. [11:34] So for every pair of sunnies or watch that is purchased we plant one tree through the nature conservancy. [14:08]: You can purchase our products at stock list (https://wildwoodme.com/pages/stockists) of retailers or distributors. [14:38] What has been one of your most important decisions that you have made around mama earth? Final Five1. What is one social media platform that you follow? (https://www.instagram.com/seashepherd/?hl=en) (https://www.instagram.com/azraqme/?hl=en) (https://www.instagram.com/mjd_smith/?hl=en) 2.What is your hope for mama earth going forward?  That we get more people to care more about it and that means taking more action and it doesn’t need to be a big step. It can be a little step.  3.What advise can you give our crazy birds this week to help out mama earth?  To do little things.  4.What is one sustainability fact that you like to use in a room with people not yet on a sustainability journey?  I talk about my brand quite a lot, so it is more about endangered species, so, for instance, the Vaquita, there is less than 40 Vaquita left in the world.  5.Where can people find you? (https://www.facebook.com/wildwoodme) (https://www.instagram.com/wildwoodme/) (https://www.instagram.com/islandofluke/?hl=en) (https://wildwoodme.com/) Key Take Away“To do little things. “ When on a sustainable journey you do not have to feel you are moving a mountain every single day. Focus on the things that you can do and start with the little things in your life that you can change and feel good about them.
