Got some sh!t to say?Marko and Steve dive into the topic of threesomes and explore the gay community's fascination with group sex. They ask the question: when did one sexual partner stop being enough? The conversation covers the rise of throuples, casual threesomes, and the cultural and emotional implications of inviting a third into the bedroom. Is it simply about fun and exploration, or could it be a gateway to something more—like polyamory or emotional detachment? The guys keep it honest, messy, and real as always. To wrap things up, they tackle the week's Listener Sh!tuation, offering their thoughts and guidance on a real life dilemma from the audience.-Articles:Queerty | Do threesomes help or hurt long-term relationships? Mark O'Connell returns to Casual Space to discuss one of the most extraordinary scientific collaborations in human history: the 1957 International Geophysical Year. With his signature wit and storytelling style, Mark takes us on the journey behind his NEW book, The Year Science Changed Everything, revealing how 6,000 scientists from 66 nations put aside political differences to study Earth's greatest mysteries—from the depths of the ocean to the edge of space. Beth and Mark explore the ripple effects of this global effort, including the formation of the Antarctic Treaty, the surprising roots of the Artemis Accords, and what IGY can teach us about tackling today's climate crisis. You'll hear how a Steely Dan song sparked Mark's decades-long curiosity, how scientific rivalries shaped history, and yes—even how a penguin nap could put you in violation of an international agreement. It's part history lesson, part love letter to science, and all kinds of fun. You'll also get a behind-the-scenes look at Mark's next creative project: a comedy script about astronomers Johannes Kepler and Tycho Brahe—think Amadeus meets Knives Out, with a golden nose and planetary motion thrown in. About Mark O'Connell Mark O'Connell is the author of The Year Science Changed Everything: 1957's International Geophysical Year and the Future of Our Planet, published by Prometheus Books. He also wrote The Close Encounters Man, a biography of astronomer and UFO researcher J. Allen Hynek. In addition to writing books, Mark is a seasoned screenwriter with credits on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, and he teaches screenwriting at DePaul University in Chicago.
Forty-Eighth Episode: I'll be joined again by my wife, Anne. She's the founder of The ArtFitters, an interior decorating and design firm. She re-imagines ordinary spaces (residential, commercial, historical, or institutional) to create the extraordinary — beautiful, organized, functional, and comfortable — through adaptive re-use and creative utilization. At an early age, she found herself drawing house plans, enjoying visits to furniture stores, and continually re-staging her bedroom. At age eight, she was more interested in picking out wallpaper, re-upholstering furniture, and re-decorating rooms than going out to play. In her professional life, the scopes of her projects grew larger. Her exposure to styles, materials, and furnishing became more broad. With more than 20 years of experience behind her, Anne is a visually inventive conceptual thinker who always sees the big picture. Because it informs her work, Anne made time for art. She had instruction in sculpting, pottery, Norwegian folk art, wood carving, dress, jewelry, and interior design. She studied painting at the Borgo Rinascimento International School of Art in Farnesi, Italy, and with numerous artists. We recently participated in a RoundTable 360˚ session, led by Anne, the topic of which was, Art as Space: Are You and Your Space Playing Nice With Each Other? We sincerely hope you'll join us. The King of Main Street: Peter J. Merrick Forty-Seventh Episode: Peter — The King of Main Street — is an internationally recognized author, writer, and commentator. He helps business owners, professionals, families, and advisors navigate complex financial, tax, and estate planning challenges with clear, practical solutions and holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Peter co-authored the dystopian business novel, It Starts With Gold, exposing the hidden forces shaping international markets, vulnerabilities in modern financial systems, and the critical steps required to preserve wealth in uncertain times. It details the ways in which we're being controlled through narrative control, financial collapse, digital enslavement, biological manipulation, plandemics, inflation, and supply chain disruptions — all intended to crush individual resolve, eliminate sovereignty, and create total dependence on a system designed to strip us of humanity. Known for his bold perspectives, deep financial expertise, and engaging storytelling, Peter challenges conventional thinking and inspires action. They explore how self-pleasure can be a healthy, personal form of sexual expression, even when one has an available and willing partner. The conversation navigates questions like: Should your partner fulfill all your sexual needs? Or is it reasonable—and even beneficial—for individuals to maintain a solo sexual practice? They address common misconceptions, emotional impacts, and how open communication plays a key role in balancing intimacy with personal autonomy. To wrap things up, they tackle the week's Listener Sh!tuation, offering their thoughts and guidance on a real life dilemma from the audience.-Articles:Psych Central | Is It Typical to Masturbate When You're Married?Guy Stuff | Why Does My Husband Prefer His Hand Over Me?Support the showSh!t | Leave us a voicemail with your relationship sh!tuation at (903) POD- SHIT. “Poison Cake” singer Marko Bošnjak stopped by the House of Helvetia for an interview in front of a live audience. Croatia's ESC singer tells us that the lyrics and angry sound were a way to fight back against negativity and hate, including people who called him a Satanist for liking Lady Gaga. He said the song has resonance with his current situation: conservative religious leaders have called for a boycott of him at Eurovision because of his devilish performance from Dora. Češka vlada potrdila digitalni davek. V Franciji bodo kljub grožnjam ZDA obdavčili tehnološke velikane. Avstrija sprejela digitalni davek, obeta si 200 milijonov na leto. To so več let stari naslovi spletnih člankov. Kaj pa Slovenija leta 2025? Tehnološki giganti tudi v našo državo prinašajo ekonomske in družbene težave, zakaj torej nimamo digitalnega davka? Niti transparentnega vpogleda v to, koliko Google, Meta, TikTok in drugi v naši državi zaslužijo? Medijski strokovnjak in profesor na Fakulteti za družbene vede dr. Marko Milosavljević pravi, da bi v vseh državah, tudi v naši, morali zvoniti vsi alarmi. In the latest episode of The Grant Williams Podcast, I sit down with Marko Papic of BCA Research to explore the intricate interplay between geopolitics and the global economy. Marko, a good friend and seasoned geopolitical strategist, walks us through his invaluable framework for understanding the preferences and constraints of policymakers—a critical lens for navigating today's rapidly shifting dynamics—before we dive into trade wars and regional integration in a conversation which delves into how political decisions are shaping financial markets and economic opportunities around the world. Also discussed the Trump administration's use of tariffs and trade wars, which Marko analyzes through the prism of U.S. constraints compared to other nations, and Europe's unique position to capitalize on current geopolitical shifts, particularly through deeper integration and increased investment prospects. Meanwhile, Marko explains why China faces significant challenges in stimulating domestic demand while grappling with risks such as potential conflict over Taiwan. Marko's insights provide an invaluable guide to understanding the complexities of today's geopolitical landscape and their far-reaching implications for economies and markets worldwide. Every episode of the Grant Williams podcast, including This Week In Doom, The End Game, The Super Terrific Happy Hour, The Narrative Game, Kaos Theory and Shifts Happen, is available to Copper, Silver and Gold Tier subscribers at my website www.Grant-Williams.com. Copper Tier subscribers get access to all podcasts, while members of the Silver Tier get both the podcasts and my monthly newsletter, Things That Make You Go Hmmm… Gold Tier subscribers have access to my new series of in-depth video conversations, About Time.
Geopolitical Uncertainty – James Aitken, Louis-Vincent Gave, and Marko Papic (EP.440)
Marko Papic is the Chief Strategist at Clocktower Group, where he provides research on geopolitics, macroeconomics, and markets. Marko recently published Geopolitical Alpha: An Investment Framework for Predicting the Future, an imminently readable book with colorful examples of political analysis. Marko's approach is akin to Moneyball for politics, challenging the orthodoxy of how others traditionally make investment decisions. Our conversation covers Marko's upbringing, the flaws of most political analysis, and his constraints-based framework. We then turn to the obvious political topic at hand – next week's U.S. Presidential election. We discuss his views of different possible outcomes on the U.S. equity market, rates, tech stocks, China, private equity, ESG, Europe, and emerging markets.
