Our plan is to collaborate with a creative team in three stages from reading to workshop to full production. We are looking for completed scripts and scores from a team that is interested in developing their work in conjunction with our graduate students. The committee considers a host of factors in the selection process, including representation of writers and stories from a range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and other affinities, as well as the gender balance of the writers whose work is presented in a given theatrical season.

A 25 year veteran actor, director, producer and writer who is from Brooklyn, NY / Woodbridge, NJ. Ronnie wrote and starred in I'm Not A Comedian… I'm Lenny Bruce, Directed by Joe Mantegna. The play ran for over 412 performances between Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and the National Tour. He is also known for his television work on CBS' Criminal Minds, FOX's Lethal Weapon as well as a 150 episode arc as Detective Ronnie Dimestico on General Hospital. As an actor, Marmo starred in more than 70 feature films includingDeuces Wild and  Back in the Day. He has directed over 50 stage plays, films and TV series. Ronnie has also produced 12 films and 110 plays/musicals in LA, NYC and CHI. Marmo has been the proud Artistic Director of Theatre 68 in LA and NYC for the last 22 years.

The Long Grazing Acre returns this year with an expanded focus — celebrating the music, history, and cultural contributions of Ireland's Traveller community through live performances, exhibitions, talks, and traditional craft demonstrations. The tour visits Glenties in Donegal, Ennis in Clare, and Ravensdale in Louth between August 23rd and September 28th. Garen Scribner is a producer, manager, and arts leader with over 20 years of experience on stage and behind the scenes. Credits include four seasons of the 6x Emmy-nominated broadcast TV series BROADWAY SANDWICH (Creator, Host), the 10-part limited series AND THE TONY NOMINEES ARE (Producer), and the film WAITING PLACES (Producer), all for New York Public Media (PBS/WNET/ALL ARTS). On stage, Garen starred as Jerry in the Broadway and National Tour productions of An American in Paris after a decade as a soloist with the San Francisco Ballet and artist of Nederlands Dans Theater. Garen is the Artistic Director of the San Francisco Dance Film Festival and the founder of Pilot MGMT, a management and production company representing many of the world's most extraordinary dance-based artists. He holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University and lives in Santa Monica, CA with his husband Geoff and their dog Maya. Rebecca Soldinger is an Emmy Award winning television producer with over two decades in the business. Angela Robinson Whitehurst returns to the show to bring her Broadway experience to discussing Wicked and the translation from stage to screen. Dr. Gee and Angela discuss the timing of seeing race brought to the forefront of this version of Wicked, compared to when the stage musical was first a part of our culture. The power of fantasy and musical stories is that deep ideas about culture can be explored through an alternate version of our world. It allows us to see the realities of our world through a different lens.  Angela also exposes the way that Black women were not allowed into the Alphoba role before the film version, but now that will be the standard as the significance of the character has been redefined by Blackness. They continue their conversation about Black voices and stories in Hollywood, including having to make representation happen for themselves.  A native of Jacksonville, FL, Angela Robinson is best-known as The Ice Queen Veronica Harrington of Tyler Perry's The Haves and The Have Nots. For her work as Veronica she is the 2015 recipient of the Gracie Award (Best Female Actress – One to Watch). Angela has worked on Broadway, off Broadway and on stages throughout the US and abroad. Broadway productions include The Color Purple with Fantasia, Wonderful Town, Bells Are Ringing, and Play On! She has participated in National Tours of The Color Purple, Dreamgirls, and The Wizard of Oz with Eartha Kitt. Her television/film credits include Law & Order: SVU, Another Bed and several regional and national commercials. She is the Winner of an Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) award for her work as Shug Avery in The Color Purple, Angela has been nominated twice for a Black Theatre Alliance Award (The Color Purple, Dreamgirls), and for an Audelco Award (Radiant Baby). She is also a member of the Tony Award winning Broadway Inspirational Voices. In 2008 Angela and her husband Scott founded the WhiteRobin Group. His effort has even caused the lethargic Democratic establishment to speak out. Against Bernie!The party's clueless cadre of insider consultants mocked Sen. Sanders' for focusing on Trump's clique of profiteering oligarchs: “Americans don't understand the word oligarchy,” they clucked.Excuse me, smart ones, but once again, you're wrong. The oligarchy has become quite well-known to us commoners, who've suffered from their healthcare outrages, voter suppression, anti-union greed, rampant price gouging, etc. To the shock of elites in both parties, Sanders has even taken his “Fight Oligarchy” campaign into red congressional districts, drawing thousands of mad-as-hellers in such Republican states as Iowa and Nebraska.In a symbolic rejection of Bernie's on-your-side populist rebellion, Hakeem Jeffries – the Democratic leader in the US House – rushed out to Silicon Valley to hug the billionaire oligarchs of high-tech!
