The 2002 film Home Room imagines the unlikely friendship between two survivors of a school shooting - women from very different backgrounds united in tragedy. Busy Philipps and Erika Christensen play Alicia and Deanna respectively and Victor Garber is the police investigator hoping the two will help answer questions about the deceased shooter. With Columbine fresh in the world's memory, director/writer Paul F. Ryan attempts to examine the effect a mass shooting can have on the community and the people in it. Dan and Vicky discuss the little seen Home Room along with lots of recently seen like Salem's Lot 2024, The Wild Robot, Rosemary's Baby prequel Apartment 7A, Joker: Folie a Deux, Exhibiting Forgiveness, Civil War and The Substance. If his face is familiar, that's because Raphael Sbarge has been working since he was a boy—in theater, television and film. His credits range from Murder, She Wrote and Risky Business to Fear the Walking Dead. More recently he has moved behind the camera, crafting documentaries like Only in Theaters, the story of Los Angeles' beloved Laemmle Theaters chain. That's the project that brought him in contact with Leonard and Jessie, who are happy to have him as this week's guest.
Actor, producer and director Raphael Sbarge joins us to revisit the origins of his 40+ year career in the entertainment industry. Starting with a role on Sesame Street, Raphael has been in some of our favorite 80s flicks: Vision Quest, Risky Business, and My Science Project. He also answers our listeners' questions about Werewolf (because of course), 1993's Carnosaur, how the film industry has changed and stayed the same, his favorite soundtracks, and navigating the world of being a child actor. More recently, Raphael directed a documentary about the history of the iconic arthouse cinema chain, Laemmle Theatres called "Only in Theaters". Check it out here! In 1973 a movie force of horror was introduced to the world in the form of The Exorcist. Fifty years later, Hollywood tries again with a direct follow-up to that movie, referred to by many as the scariest movie ever made. This new movie is called The Exorcist Believer and it may be scary or just scary that this is the best they could come up with, even with fifty years to work with. This time the plot revolves around two young girls who go missing for three days but when found, have obviously brought something evil back with them. Soon enough, the girls are plunged into the horrors of being possessed by a demon. Time to call an exorcist! Is it worth checking out this new offering of movie devilry or stay the Hell away? Check out this spoiler-free review to find out. This stars Ellen Burstyn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jennifer Nettles, Ann Dowd, Raphael Sbarge, Norbert Leo Butz, Olivia O'Neill, Lidya Jewett, Chloe Traicos, E.J. Bonilla, Antoni Corone. The history of this business and how it narrowly survived the pandemic is the subject of Raphael Sbarge's documentary Only in Theaters, which is still making the rounds of film festivals. (Leonard appears in it as an interviewee.) When it comes to running a movie theater, there is very little that Greg doesn't know and he speaks with the easy authority of a veteran. Leonard and Jessie are among his many loyal customers.

Talking Through World Beyond Season Finale For this episode 75 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, LT, Kyle and Brian talk through the Season Finale of World Beyond. We had some scheduling and recording issues this week so I had to make some creative editing so it will sound a little different then what you are used to. A World Beyond felt more like a World Apart. This was the end of Season 1 of the TWD spinoff World Beyond. And, well it felt like as viewers, it was more less Walking Dead and more Scooby-Doo. With what we have seen in this universe these kids just didn’t seem really in danger or surviving but more like caught in the drama of being….. Dramatic. We do get CRM’s master plan regarding Hope and why Lieutenant Colonel Kublek gave the map to Hope and Iris to find their dad but again why was it necessary to wipe out the entirety of the Campus Colony? We also get some insight with their Dad and his distrust about the Military arm of the Civic Republic, Felix has a boyfriend, Will, that we never knew about and they reunite in the end, and Elton finds Percy, and later they find Silas who takes one for the team. Overall it was interesting and some episodes were better than others but overall we don’t understand what the whole point is. Guess we will find out in Season 2. Ratings are down The World Beyond Finale S1E9-10 got a 0.15 in the 18-49 demographic with 618,000 thousand viewers. We had a Talking Dead, but only on the AMC apps and it didn’t even make the top 150. Subscribe and Support! Don’t forget that we have our Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/WalkingDeadTalkThrough! Talking Through Damage From the Inside For this episode 74 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, LT, Kyle and Brian talk through the Mid-Season Finale Damage From the Inside. Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 7 was written by Jacob Pinion and directed by Tawnia McKiernan. We also discuss a little bit about World Beyond Episode 8 titled The Sky Is a Graveyard. A Taxidermy Nightmare… well, not really. So we get from the start Dakota is being escorted to safety by Strand and his Rangers with one of them looking like Virginia’s Doppelgänger. We don’t know if that was on purpose, or if maybe this actor is Colby Minifie’s stunt double. But in any case, something happens and Strand and Ranger Samuels investigate only to come back and everyone is dead and Dakota is missing. Cue, Alicia, and Charlie are just sitting on some outpost, and Strand calling for them to help find the missing girl. Then things get strange but visually was fun to see. The creepy hunting lodge, stuffed animals, and a creepy lone survivor who likes to play dress-up with walkers as a way to keep the living away. This wasn’t the best episode this season and finally getting Alicia some screen time was a welcome sign but seemed a wasted opportunity by the showrunners. For a Mid-Season Finale is really lacked some punch and felt like more of a weak attempt at a B-Horror film. We did get to see Alicia finally reunite with Morgan which was a really great scene. Strand is still sticking to his conman ways and I guess we did get some sort of payoff with the whereabouts of Grace. In the end, with knowing that Covid interrupted their plans and the real Mid-Season finale wasn’t finished we just hope the back half, when it returns, pays off. Send in your feedback! Please leave your feedback! We will be covering the two hour finale of The Walking Dead World Beyond in it’s entirety now that Fear is on hiatius but if you have feedback about Fear’s Mid-Season finale we will cover that too! I know that this podcast is usually a bit tangent-filled, but seriously, we have a hard time sticking to the plot of this mini-game and side-story packed episode. In this episode: Vanessa calls Johnny "P*nis-Having Johnny With A P*nis", Elijah Wood ASMR, Johnny's number one sexy single slow jam "Making People Is Free", the most erotic song from Annie, and we consider the morality of abusing the service Cameo. Not the first mockbuster, but definitely one of my favorites--it's 1993's "Carnosaur" with guest Austin Rogers! Diane Ladd plays a mad geneticist who creates a deadly infection via chicken products. The male host acts as a carrier, but the female incubates it...into a dinosaur. What could possibly go wrong?

There never seems to be enough time to get things done. Especially that science project that Harlan hasn't turned in. Scavenging a junk yard he finds a time warp generator. Turns out having to much time on your hands is a dangerous thing. John Stockwell, Danielle Von Zerneck, Fisher Stevens, Raphael Sbarge, and Dennis Hopper star in the Jonathan R. Betuel sci-fi, comedy film My Science Project (1985). A story of science run amuck. It is a forgotten gem that failed to find an audience in 1985 and Invasion of the Remake tries rethink, recast, and remake what should have been a cult classic. April 23, 2017 - You may know Raphael Sbarge best for his work in projects including Once Upon A Time and Murder in the First, but he's also an incredible director whose short film The Bird Who Could Fly world premiered at FirstGlance Film Fest. The short won Best of Fest, Best Short, and Best Ensemble (Short) at FirstGlance Film Fest. (The only way to currently see the short is to catch it in a film festival.) He and I spoke about his film as well as diversity in entertainment.

Today we're joined by actor/producer, Raphael Sbarge to discuss Green Wish, a grassroots, non-profit organization that funds local, green organizations through customers' small donations at local retailers. Green Wish was founded in 2009 by Sbarge, after the birth of his first child, “I was struck by how alive I suddenly felt as a father,” he explained. “Conversely, I also felt remarkably vulnerable and defenseless to protect this little person's journey in a world as vast and complex as ours. I had to ask, ‘What can we do to contribute in any small way to leave the world a better place than when we found it?'” The answer: Green Wish. When you donate to Green Wish, you're actually helping numerous environmental groups, right in your own community. On today's episode, we'll also discuss Raphael's documentary, Is There Hope For Planet Earth?
219 GreenConnect host Kathy Sipple speaks with Raphael Sbarge. Sbarge stars on TNT’s hit series Murder in the First and recurs on ABC’s Once Upon a Time. He has also directed and produced a documentary about climate change, Is There Hope for Planet Earth. In the little free time that Sbarge has, he founded Green Wish, a nonprofit that helps local green organizations fund projects for their communities. Green Wish currently has chapters in Los Angeles; Lawrence, Kan.; St. Louis; Kansas City, Mo.; and Denver. Chapters are in the works in other cities, including Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. On why he founded Green Wish: “After the birth of my daughter, I was struck by how strong and good I suddenly felt as a father. But I asked myself: What can I do and how can I contribute in any small way to leave the world a little better than when I found it, for Gracie?” – Raphael Sbarge, Huffington Post See more info at www.greenwish.com

On this special edition podcast we present the audio from the PAX East Panel:_ Foreplay, Romance in Games_ with our very own, Hilary. This awesome panel was moderated by Sean Baptiste from Fire Hose Games, featuring Aenne and Melissa from Reset Transmission and our pals, Miellyn and Lacy Wilson from Tin Man Games. Oh, and Raphael Sbarge was kind enough to make a surprise appearance on the panel, enjoy! Whatever happened to foreplay? People tend to talk (and program) a lot about sex in games and forget all about the delicious build up. But with growing female and non-traditional male consumer bases, game developers are starting to reach beyond the adolescent male fantasy. You can get hitched in Skyrim, have a steamy bath with your lady in Witcher 2, and woo a whole lot of different people in Mass Effect… and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Rated NA 98
