Why his focus today is to free himself of all the limiting beliefs, programs, and conditions of what the status quo has taught us. How he is guiding other people through the same process of deprogramming their unconscious thoughts and beliefs. Why some programmed unconscious thoughts and beliefs have caused us pain and suffering in our lives. Jay and Josh's shared experiences with Ayahuasca in Costa Rica. Some of Jay's biggest life turning points that have made him who he is today. David R. Hawkins The pain Jay fought through as his marriage ended and lost his little sister all in the same year in 2013. Why those experiences forced him to face things he wasn't willing to work on in the past. The moment he realized his journey with plant medicine, workshops, and spending time in wellness communities was actually a tool of distraction for the real work he had to do to heal his pain and suffering. [13:00] Why We Seek Validation From Other What led Jay to create The Evo Room (Evolution Room) in San Diego, California to help people relieve their stress, anxiety, depression and ultimately find themselves. How receiving so much positive validation from participants at The Evo Room was unknowingly leading him to a co-dependent relationship to cover up his pain. The fact that many people who help others don't recognize that they are in these co-dependent strategies because they are not generating the change within themselves but relying on the energies of others to make them feel better. How the thoughts and behaviors we learn as children to please our parents carries on into adulthood. The impact of not allowing children to make their choices and be free in who they are so that they can look towards themselves for self-acceptance and support rather than turn to others. How Jay was able to make the switch from external to internal validation and begin to fill his own cup. Why our energy is being stolen every day from other people including the government plus how we are stealing energy from other people. How dis-ease happens when we do not use the energy that the divine has gifted to us in order to fuel our mind and body. [25:00] Holodynamics For Personal Transformation Tools such has conscious relationships Jay has learned to help other people include entertainers and athletes. How holodynamics has helped Jay with his own personal growth and transformation. Why it's so important to go into your subconscious and understand your programmed thoughts that drive your actions and behaviors. What the tracking method is and how it has helped Jay to go into his own subconscious mind and identify limiting beliefs and energies the lie beneath in the background. Breaking down how we self sabotage ourselves. Dr. Vernon Woolf's work during the Cold War and how a holodynamics center were opened to try to help people in the Soviet Union. Explaining how everything around us from nature to ordinary objects are energy and have information that we can tap into. How Dr. Woolf was able to identify and heal the poison that was injected into his body with holodynamics. [38:15] Finding Your Unique Healing Practice Heart Math Institute Stealing Fire by Steven Kotler and Jamie Wheal 209 Jamie Wheal How Soul Factory came to be after an Ayahuasca ceremony in Costa Rica that Jay and his friend, Alan, had attended. The journey their friendship has gone through over the years and the tight bond that they have today. Most problems people run into when they begin seeking help for their depression or anxiety. Why many helpful healing practices for mental health such as psychedelics and trauma are being censored by major platforms like Google and YouTube. The Soul Factory modality and how it has been designed to help people find the answer within themselves for which healing practice works best for them. Why releasing all of the deep conditioning and programming isn't about the tactics but forgiveness. Why the answers you seek, especially on how to heal yourself, don't come from the outside but from within yourself. 400 Cal Callahan The Great Unlearn Podcast Unpacking why we're also disconnected and find it difficult to forgive and love as humans. The distractions we face when we turn towards outside of ourselves with social media, the news, and the pandemic that keep us from turning within. How we disempower ourselves when we operate from a victim mentality. [55:00] Programmed Codependence vs Our Independence Unpacking Jay's own wellness journey, how he has evolved, and what he's still working on now. How to use the Energy that Source gives us to help power our lives. Why Jay didn't use his Energy for himself but he would give it away to someone else. How Jay's parents unknowingly programmed him to look for external validation rather than focusing on self-validation. Why we are all born free in this world with our own impulses and desires but then we're shaped and molded by our parents' experiences and programs as well as society. How we're programmed to crave co-dependency from everyone else in our lives and we don't even realize it. The power of living freely with our own independence compared to only feeling happy when we're codependent. His thinking patterns consciously and subconsciously of putting people on a pedestal and wanting to connect with them so that he would be seen as an amazing person by his peers. Why we shouldn't rely on the Law Of Attraction or manifestation but focus on ourselves as we gather, apply, and embody what we learn. [1:04:30] Breaking Free From Old Patterns How old behavior patterns and thought loops do not serve us and can actually lead to greater health issues starting at the cellular level. The process that Jay takes people on to help them begin the healing process. How to begin healing the most prominent and uncomfortable emotions that you are feeling. The power of energy as information and how our emotions are carrying that information for us to receive and understand our physical pain and ailment. What steps you can take to be present with your emotions and learn what they want to communicate with you. How we've been conditioned to turn away from negative emotions and ignore or distract ourselves from them when we really should be tuning in. The Hidden Messages in Water by Masaru Emoto An example of how one of his clients began her healing process when she tuned into the emotion, rage, and was gifted with the knowledge of what action she could take moving forward. How tuning into emotions during the inner work can also help us heal generational trauma and pain. So, I am a hologram, you are a hologram. We look real but essentially we are projection of consciousness into this dimension of reality. We can understand and interact with the universe through images. If I ask you to remember your first day of high school, a memory will come as an image in your mind of that experience. You can access information through holograms, through these images and even deeper when you sit with them. We can use these holograms as a way to communicate with things; animate or inanimate in the world." - Jay Brown   Generate Your Own Energy   "Many people don't recognize that they're still in these co-dependent strategies even though they're doing the work and they're helping so many people. They're making great progress yet they don't realize how they're taking energy from other people because they're not able to generate that energy within themselves and this is what we were taught by our parents. As our parents asked us to do this and do that, we turned our attention to what they wanted, not the impulse in what our hearts desired. Overtime, that trains us to turn our attention to others and that is the strategy or the program that I had personally been running with for most of my life." - Jay Brown   Fill Your Own Cup     "If you aren't using the energy that the Divine gives to you to fill your own cup and allow the cells of your body to have the sustenance from that energy and then you're giving it away and then needing to steal energy from someone else because of that, that dynamic is messing people up in the world. This is how dis-ease happens." - Jay Brown   Links From Today's Show  Dr. Vernon Woolf | Holodynamics Holodynamics by Dr. Vernon Woolf Holodynamics For A Better World 248 Lauren Handel Zander 317 Lauren Handel Zander David R. Everybody has at least one bad habit they resist or feel shame about, and as a result of that shame, don't feel right laughing about. Not only is it okay to laugh, laughing about our shame can bring about the change we need to put it in the past. Joining this episode of the podcast is NYC comedian Jay Welch, to share how he found the funny in his fast food habit and the shame he felt in justifying his choices, turning it into a hilarious bit that we break down in this episode. Jay's insights into joke writing really broke down why it's okay to laugh at our shame -- in this case, food shame. Comics: get out your pens. There's a lot of good joke writing tips in this one. We also talk about: -Why Jay quit doing roasts. -Working local references into a joke. -Using hunter/gatherer skills while living in a city. -Adding funny wrinkles into longer setups. -The psychological edge joking about yourself gives you with an audience. -Racial power dynamics in comedy. -Seasonal jokes. -If eating ice cream in the winter is acceptable. -Being self-conscious about what you eat and finding the humor in the compulsion. -Leaving breadcrumbs so the audience shares the powerful experience of everyone getting the joke at the same time. -Stock lines that get laughs in conversation at parties. -The art of showing instead of telling. -Why some people can’t find the funny in their food shame. -Finding the funny in rationalizing bad habits and lying to ourselves to ease the tension of cognitive dissonance. -The potential consequences of trying a new joke on Twitter. Welcome to Episode 4 of Tea Time! In this episode, Mel and Jay decided to review a documentary, so a little different of a vibe compared to a reality show (Ep. 1 + 2) and a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie (Ep. 3). The girls review The Dawn Wall, a rock climbing documentary about climbers Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson and their journey up the Dawn Wall of El Cap at Yosemite National Park. A fun fact about Mel and Jay, they absolutely are obsessed with climbing (learning, watching, talking about it, not climbing themselves), and fell in love with the sport after watching Free Solo, which chronicles climber Alex Honnold's journey as he solo free climbed (no ropes) El Cap. The girls run through the doc, give their champagne flute rating (spoiler alert - this was the highest rated production that they have reviewed so far) and give their takes on what they think 2 prominent athletes would have to say about this documentary. Mel channels her inner Alex Honnold and dives into what she think he would say to this. Jay channels her inner Jalen Ramsey, cornerback for the LA Rams. Listen to Ep. 4 to see the reason WHY Jay chose Ramsey to make a special appearance! This episode was the girl's favorite yet! Don't miss it!

We’ve had the pleasure of sharing Grant Cardone and Daymond John’s biggest takeaways from this extra challenging year. Now it’s Jay Abraham’s turn to enlighten us with what he’s learned in 2020 and what he will be taking from this year into 2021. “I lost many millions. It was heartbreaking for about a day. And then you realize nobody cares. So you might as well, you know, shift. I don’t like the word pivot because I think it’s been beaten up, but I think you have to find a new way of thinking. That’s all”. Jay Abraham. Who is Jay Abraham? Jay is America’s highest-paid marketing consultant. He worked with Entrepreneur Magazine and multiplied their revenue back when nobody knew what an entrepreneur was. He’s been through six or seven tough economic cycles and therefore has experience and wisdom to help all kinds of entrepreneurs. But he acknowledges, this year has been profound.  If you want to hear more from Jay, check out the last episode we shared with him from the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic (Part 1). Thanks so much for joining us for this podcast episode. Be sure to hit that Subscribe button on ApplePodcasts, so you never miss a thing. We usually share a snack-size show on Mondays and an interview on Wednesdays. We appreciate your support and thank you for sharing the show with your business-minded friends. Listen For, How thinking bigger can lead you to a bigger market. “There’s all these markets that you don’t think of that are not defined as the market you would normally target, but there are subsets in any market. And when you start looking at that, it opens up all kinds of business.” Jay Abraham. Three Key Questions To Think Bigger And Identify Opportunity 1. Who has my market?  2. How many ways can I reach the market?  3. How can I move fixed costs to variable? Why Jay believes it doesn’t matter what the market is doing. “So, I mean, in all honesty, my kind of business has always flourished in adversity. I’ve been through six, seven downturns? Nothing as profound as this. And I have been trained to see opportunity in adversity. And so I’ve been able to methodically go to people, calm them down, and show them two or three things. One, it doesn’t really matter if the market’s flat or even dropping. As long as there’s a market, there’s an opportunity.” Jay Abraham. • The opportunity that many entrepreneurs miss when limiting their marketing to digital/online strategies and forget traditional media (and how this helped a client go from 40 million to 140 million-plus this year). Plus, Windows Of Opportunity In A Covid Economy (In his words). Collaboration. “If you guys and girls are all oriented towards affiliate programs, there’s a much bigger world of collaboration, endorsement, joint venture packaging, co-branding, just all kinds of stuff, that dwarfs where affiliate is. If you understand it, there’ll never be as wide a window open of companies, Influencers, organizations, not-for-profits, all kinds of media platforms, bloggers, podcasters - who are open and receptive to collaboration and joint venture performance-based opportunities. You just have to be a student enough to know how to identify, position, and then structure it. And most importantly, you shouldn’t waste the opportunity. You should have something with high viability because if you set it up for yourself, once you do that, then you can turn that into a distribution channel. You can put all kinds of other people’s stuff down, and now you have an asset play that can be very long lived”. Jay Abraham. Buying Businesses For No Money Down. “Many, many companies are on the ropes. They are just getting by, or they’re not getting by. And they’re just depleting capital. If you can identify who they are (See Roland Frasier’s Epic Challenge) you can acquire them for no money down and pay out of the proceeds. The risk is almost nothing”. Jay Abraham. A Win-Win Strategy with Newly-Unemployed High-Level professionals. “Now these people were used to making $200-$300,000 a year, now making a thousand dollars or less a week, struggling, stressed out...You can find them on LinkedIn, and you can go to them. They have these relationships that are ‘sunk costs.’ You can go to them, and if you can win their trust, introduce you instantly to maybe 20, 30 people you would never get access to at that level in a lifetime of credibility, and you give them some kind of a variable for closed deals. You can go crazy.” Jay Abraham. Access To A Brilliant SalesForce. “There’s tons of salespeople who have been put out of work or are compromised because either the company consolidated, or the product they were selling was not as viable during COVID. They’re sitting around! Jay Abraham. And so much more… If this episode helps you, head over to our home page and sign up for occasional memos and messages. Get 10 percent off everything else with the code “EASTCOAST.”Who: Steve Wright, President and General Manager of Jay Peak, VermontRecorded on: October 19, 2020Why I interviewed him: Because there it sits, towering off the top of America, an unlikely snow trap that is the spiritual center of Northeast skiing. It is the best ski area in the best ski state in New England. Rippling with glades, pounded with more snow than any ski area east of the Rockies, cold enough to keep that powder crisp for days after it falls, Jay Peak offers your best chance at your best day of skiing on any given day of the season. For skiers funneling north on I-91 from the East Coast megalopolis, the mountain can seem rooted to a horizon too distant to bother with. But that remoteness only adds to the mystique, and those who do bother find something special, exotic almost, a place 10 miles from the international frontier, with a bordertown’s energy and a mixing pot’s cosmopolitan sheen. The skiing can feel foreign too, more big-trees-and-deep-turns West than baked-concrete East. The whole thing adds up to a kind of zen experience for skiers who hit it right, when the storms are pounding through and the temps stay low and you’re locked up there at the snowy top of the country, the whole of Northeast skiing outside of your little zone suddenly feeling far off and irrelevant. The Jay Peak Tram. Photo courtesy of Indy Pass. What we talked about: Why Jay joined the Indy Pass; why the partnership may benefit other Northeastern mountains as much as, if not more than, Jay; how long the initial Indy Pass partnership deal is set for; season passholder benefits, from the Indy Pass buy-up to free Saddleback days; whether Jay passholders could see more reciprocal partnerships in the future; why the Jay-Burke pass has persisted even after common ownership dissolved; will Steve Wright help convince Burke to join the Indy Pass?; season pass guarantees – where Jay sits and why they decided to move ahead of so many other ski areas; why Jay refunded all passes purchased by Canadian skiers; don’t expect the U.S.-Canada border to crack open anytime soon; what you lose when you lose Canada; how pass sales are faring in the age of Covid; the 10 Years of Jay contest; Jay’s upside-down season – trying to attract more skiers while everyone else in Vermont is trying to thin their skier numbers; if you think Vermont ski areas aren’t going to monitor quarantine requirements, listen to what Wright has to say about it; what operations will look like at Jay this winter; Wright’s side hustle as a slopeside pizza chef; the squad of roving wellness ambassadors you may encounter at Jay this winter; the operating plan for the tram, and yes there are some surprises; whether skiers will be able to hike to the summit from the top of the Flyer Express Quad; told for the first time: the story behind Jay’s March shutdown; how Jay Nation reacted to the mountain’s decision to close, which came before that of any other large mountain in the Northeast; why Jay went full shutdown, rather than framing the closure as a “pause in operations,” as so many other ski areas did; how challenging it was to shut down the enthusiastic uphillers that just kept coming; the group of international employees who were stuck at Jay post-shutdown and how the mountain ultimately helped get them home; the day a motorcade of black Escalades pulled into the parking lot and how it was different from the motorcades of black Escalades that had been regulars at the mountain during the Quiros era; what happens when you suddenly find yourself in charge of Jay Peak; whether the court-appointed receiver ever considered shutting down the mountain; the challenges of operating without a permanent owner; the explosive growth at the base of Jay over the past 10 to 15 years and whether that was the right direction for the mountain; the state of Jay Peak’s sale; why Jay Peak will not be bulldozed into a giant parking lot; why the mountain is discussing its valuation with the town of Jay; Wright’s upgrade wish list, including chairlift improvements; whether the mountain would ever consider replacing the tram or planting a redundant lift to the top; and whether the West Bowl expansion could ever happen. Crushing some Jay Peak pow. Photo courtesy of Indy Pass. Why I thought that now was a good time for this interview: Because go check indyskipass.com, where you’ll see Jay Peak is now the headliner of the already strong Eastern lineup. Why Jay joined the Indy and why it chose to do so this close to the season was a story I thought we all needed to hear. I also just wanted an update on the giant bucket of b******t Jay had been wading through for the past several years, including but not limited to the EB-5 scandal that put the mountain under the oversight of a court-appointed receiver, the ongoing quest to find a buyer, the mountain’s decision to challenge its assessment with the town of Jay, why Jay was one of the first large ski areas in the country to shut down in the spring to help stop the spread of Covid-19, how it’s planning to handle operations in the coming socially distant season, and what the ongoing closure of the Canadian border means for the ski area. I also just wanted to get a sense of Jay’s long-term ambitions for lift and snowmaking upgrades, as well as a possible West Bowl expansion. Why you should go there: Because if you haven’t been and you haven’t been on a good day, then you probably don’t know how good skiing in the Northeast can be. And while the rest of Northern Vermont doesn’t sit too far behind Jay in its annual snow totals, none of them has the sheer breadth of its glade network. Jay has always been known for and defined by its tree skiing, long before other mountains began thinning trees between groomers and dropping them onto the trailmap in earnest. A good glade network is useless without plenty of snow, of course, and Jay has more powder more often than anyone else. Outside of the outstanding skiing, however, this socially distant, limited-capacity year is probably the best one you’ll ever find to visit Jay Peak. The Canadian border remains closed to non-essential travel, cutting off half the ski area’s business. Vermont quarantine restrictions will further limit traffic. If you’re not in any of the restricted zones and can make it to Jay in the winter of 2020-21, you may feel pretty lonely up there, nothing but you and your skis crushing 2,000-foot pow laps from open to close. Go get it.Buy that pass at Jay: Wright clarified to me after the interview that the two free Saddleback days that come with the Jay Peak season pass are only included with Jay-Burke combo passes that are purchased through Jay Peak. If you buy through Burke, you won’t get the Saddleback days, since Burke has no agreement with that mountain.Additional reading/videos:Why, look at this, it’s a Q&A with Steve in Powder by none other than Mountain Gazette owner and editor and Storm Skiing Podcast sponsor Mike Rogge.Vermont Digger has been a great source for coverage of the EB-5 scandal. The first part of a three-part interview with Wright by Propeller Media Works. Marketers are often caught up in the numbers and believe that the bigger an email list, the more successful the marketing. But this could not be further from the truth because newsletters should create value and not focus on who arrives but who chooses to stay. Reframing marketing success in this way makes it clear that audiences have chosen you and you can use this to engage with them more meaningfully. Today’s guest, Jay Acunzo, is a content marketer turned podcaster, and he is here to share his unique and refreshing approach to his email list. In this episode, he talks about his acclaimed newsletter, Damn the Best Practices, how he approached it, and what it taught him. Despite his initial frustration at not seeing the numbers he thought he needed, he instead saw the power of having a small, but highly engaged audience. It was clear that resonance rather than reach was what truly mattered. Jay also shares how he tackles drafting his newsletters, and why marketers’ focus on perfection is stifling creativity. Understanding that the process of creation is inherently iterative is not only liberating but also allows you to create more and ultimately improve. We also talk about why Jay doesn’t use conventional success metrics, why he thinks there’s only one way to grow an email list, and the importance of getting clear on your message. Be sure to tune in today!Key Points From This Episode:Jay’s Damn the Best Practices newsletter, why he started it, and why it’s no longer around.Damn the Best Practices origin story and how Jay found his ‘tribe’ through it.Where Jay’s passion for creating and connecting comes from. Some of the writing tools and techniques that help Jay draft arresting newsletters. The only way Jay believes that you can grow your email list. Why Jay realized that the type of engagement was more important than list size.Jay’s tips for people struggling with their newsletter: Lean into the iterative process.Find out why email is the number one place for Jay to put his content.First, find out what you want to say before deciding where you want to say it.Jay’s ‘Unsolicited Response Rate’ metric and what it helps him measure. What Jay loves about his team and why they’ve succeeded together.Tweetables:“I fell in love with notion that I could make something early on that made me feel and that I could give it to someone else that made them feel too. Jay Ruane is a nationally recognized expert in digital and social media marketing for lawyers. In addition, he is an Amazon best selling author in the Law Practice Management category. When Jay was a kid, his father was a local criminal defense lawyer. Jay watched him go to work every day defending the rights of people just like you and me. He took enormous pride in his job, and he taught Jay the importance of protecting the rights of every man and woman. Jay’s father firmly believed that it is the job of the criminal defense attorney to check the power of the court and make sure that the laws are followed during the prosecution process. This is a belief that Jay saw in action every day and one that he came to adopt as his own. This way of viewing the world led him to his career as a lawyer. In 2001, Jay went into private practice with his father. They started Ruane Attorneys, a modest criminal defense firm in Bridgeport focusing mostly on DUI defense. Fourteen years later, the firm has two additional locations, another senior partner, 8 associate attorneys, and a dedicated administrative team of 8. Since opening Ruane Attorneys, Jay has spoken at several conferences, has been involved in local and national law associations, and has spent a minimum of 40 hours each year furthering his defense knowledge. He also authored and co-authored several books, including The Connecticut DUI Trial Handbook, Lady DUI’s Connecticut DUI Survival Guide, and The Connecticut DUI Survival Guide. What you’ll learn about in this episode: Jay shares his career journey and explains how he initially began marketing his practice digitally out of necessity How Jay founded a social media marketing training company for other lawyers to help them better engage with followers Why Jay believes the key to building a successful law practice is to focus on the areas where you find passion and purpose, and why profits aren’t enough How Jay created a systems-based process within his firm, and why systems have been the key to his firm’s growth Why Jay wishes he had spent more time building his personal network early in his career, and why personal referrals are a powerful resource for growth Why Jay believes that social media is one of the most powerful relationship-cultivating tools we have at our disposal in the modern world Why nontraditional, digital marketing offers significant potential over more traditional marketing methods How Jay’s books have become instrumental marketing tools statewide and have generated at least one new referral a month by themselves How to get a free 15-day trial of Jay’s FirmFlex social media coaching just for being a Grow Your Law Firm podcast listener Resources: FirmFlex free trial: www.getfirmflex.com/pilmma Website: www.ruaneattorneys.com LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/jayruane/ Additional Resources: PILMMA Join Page: www.pilmma.org/marketing-lawyers-law-firm-management/

Robinway Dairy is a 1700 cow dairy farm based in Kiel, Wisconsin. Bucky Organics is a company that produces and sells organic plant nutrients. Ross shares what inspired him to create a system for the agriculture industry and how it impacts farm sustainability. Jay shares the agricultural and economic advantages he has experienced since installing the system on his dairy farm as well as how implementing the system has opened new opportunities for growth and revenue. We also discuss how dairy farmers can utilize the LWR recycling system to extract valuable nutrients and materials from their farms to improve their soil health, increase product yields, and make a positive impact on the economy and environment.       “From a sustainability perspective, what we do in terms of compacting and segregating the nutrients lets the manure economy work so you can take nutrients back to your feed sources - which you were never able to do before.” - Ross Thurston       This Week on The Future of Agriculture Podcast:   How Livestock Water Recycling got started in the animal agriculture industry. What inspired Ross to create the LWR system for the ag industry. How the LWR system is helping farmers increase product yields and create new income streams. - When data is hard to come by, you have one-size-fits-all management practices - If you optimize with one-size-fits-all, you’re optimizing for the middle of your bell curve of employees, you’re optimizing for the average - Most people who get management positions aren’t prepared or trained in management - The craft of leadership - Click the company grew 40% year over year for 20 years - Why Jay and the co-authors wrote, “The Decoded Company” - Sensai Labs was a result of other companies asking to have the same software that Click used - The fascinating origin story of Click, or how does a 13-year-old ends up as the CTO of a company at 16 and became the co-founder of a company at 17. - Click focused on culture at its inception as a response to the environment they’d come from - Click realized when there were 50 employees that email was a terrible tool for collaboration so they forced employees to put all requests into a ticketing system, they banned email! - Leerom and Aaron began looking at the data in the ticketing system and realized that the data showed work flow and see where things were getting hung up - The identified patterns that could be indicative of a problem and built in notifications to let project managers know that needed to look into what was going on to see if there was an issue that needed to be addressed - Applying data and analysis to optimize the organization’s performance - SensaiOS is an enterprise system that contains all the data - Click hires less than 1% of the applicants to their job openings - Click asks the questions “How does this candidate compare to the existing team?” on a dimension that’s important to the role they’re interviewing for and the options for answering the question are, “They transform the team” or “They’re above the team’s bar” or “They’re coachable to reach the team bar” or “They’re below the team bar” - The system creates a situational briefing based on what’s needed by the person doing a job: for instance, giving you the information you need a few hours before interviewing job candidates for a specific role - They share the interview notes of others who’ve also interviewed the candidate so you end up getting beyond the candidate’s best canned answer for an interview and get to know the real person better - Training interventions are individualized to the person by taking into account how frequently you’ve done a role, level of seniority, history with the company, experience in the industry, etc. - SensaiOS comes out of the box with some pretty smart settings - Two of the keys to a decoded company, are (1) “Technology as a Coach” giving you the training that you need when you need it individualized to your specific needs and (2) “Data as a 6th Sense” having a system that give you data you need when you need it so you can be better informed and be capable of making better decisions - An example of the system using data as a 6th sense to improve business effectiveness is called “inflight reading” where you get an update automatically downloaded to your phone an hour before your flight takes off to go see a client & that updates has in it a complete assessment about the current state of everything going on with that customer - Book Recommended "The Decoded Company: Know Your Talent Better than You Know Your Customers"

“For years, customer service has been a necessary evil.” That’s what Jay Baer says, but he’s convinced that even though it’s never been true, it’s especially not true in the digital age. Customer service is the lifeblood of truly impacting businesses. During this conversation Anthony asks the kind of questions that unpack the gold of Jay’s new book, “Hug Your Haters” and shows you why keeping customers through outstanding customer service is tons more important that getting new customers. After listening to this episode you won’t think of customer service the same way again. For generations, customer service has been seen a necessary evil ~ Jay BaerClick To Tweet Why Haters are not necessarily going to hate forever. You’ve heard the pithy little meme - “Hater’s gonna’ hate.” But is it always true? Jay Baer believes that most people who you might classify as a “hater” on social media these days are simply voicing their opinion about the reality of their experience with your company, and resigning yourself to a statement like that could also resign you to failure in business. In this episode Jay explains how companies NEED to respond to haters no matter what, and how they can do so in a way that is a win for the business in every case. It sounds like a lot to promises but Jay delivers, on this episode of In The Arena. Why you should fix your customer service before you get more customers. If it sounds backwards to you that you should fix your customer service before getting more customers, that’s because you fall squarely into what current statistics reveal: that most businesses spend far more on marketing and sales than they do on customer service. Jay Baer believes that’s a colossal mistake because it’s much easier and wiser to keep the customers you’ve already reeled in, then it is to go out and get new customers. And by keeping them happy AS your customers, they are going to have a huge impact on whether or not you get those new customers you want so badly. It’s more to unpack that one paragraph can do, so be sure you listen to Jay’s explanation on this episode. If it’s out there on the internet, and you don’t respond, it’s true by default ~ Jay BaerClick To Tweet Which channel should you use for customer service? There are so many ways for you to communicate with your customers and for them to communicate with you - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. - which one should you use to address customer service issues? Jay Baer believes that the answer is obvious: Use the ones your customers prefer to use, which will not be the same for every customer. This idea comes from Jay’s explanation of “on stage” and “off stage” complaints and how each of them has to be handled in different ways in order to magnify the value your business places on the customer. If you don’t understand, you will - and you’ll agree entirely - if you listen to this episode of In The Arena. What happens when you respond to customer complaints? Do you really know? Jay Baer says that more happens than just averting a disaster or fixing a problem. The research he did while writing his new book, “Hug Your Haters” revealed that in EVERY CASE responding to customer complaints resulted in a huge uptick in customer satisfaction (which you would expect) and ALSO a huge increase in customer advocacy (which you may not have expected). So when you respond to your customer’s complaints promptly, with care, and with an eye to solve their problem to their satisfaction, you not only make a friend, you make an ally. Find out more of what Jay has discovered about stellar customer service, on this episode. If you answer a complaint, it increases customer advocacy. Every. Time. ~ Jay BaerClick To Tweet Outline of this great episode [3:45] Anthony’s introduction to Jay Baer and the conversation in this episode. How much time do you spend each week learning something new? It's a problem for me, which is why I love podcasts so much. I can usually find a way to fit in a 30 minute podcast and feel energized and refreshed. I am even getting a lot of new blog posts ideas from podcast discussions that inspire me. If you haven't discovered podcasts as a way to get energized and inspired, the latest edition of The Marketing Companion would be a great place to start. In this latest edition you'll hear about two new apps to help you create content, a list of the worst apps in the world (including the Death Simulator), and some radical new insights into customer service best practices. Two cool new apps for the content creator Tom Webster and I start the show covering two new content-creation apps we love. The first one is Anchor, an app that Tom uses to record and share soundbites on the go. These soundbites are called “waves" and could have an interesting impact on content creation. Lots of possibilities here. I talk about how I am using Blab and why I love it. I'm still in the experimental stage but see huge potential in this as a flexible and easy way to create quality content. I am even combining Blab and Slideshare. Radical insights into customer service The heart of the show is a discussion of the surprising data behind Jay Baer's new book Hug Your Haters. Tom Webster led an Edison Research team to discover the truth of customer service on the web today. Here are some the fascinating tidbits that came out of the show: Why Jay's new book is not the one he started out to write. What industries are number one for complaints? What company gets the single-most number of complaints? The vast implications of customer expectations for response speed. What do you do about that 2 percent of "haters" who just love to hate? They won't go away no matter what you do. How do you know when it is time to walk away? The Hatrix -- a strategy for dealing with haters Onstage haters versus offstage haters and the amazing data that points to radical new social media service strategies Why the emphasis on Twitter complaints may be overstated.
