Auch ihr erster Nummer-1-Hit "People Are People" ist darauf. __________ Über diese Songs vom Album "Some Great Reward" wird im Podcast gesprochen (15:39) – "Lie To Me"(21:10) – "People Are People"(43:45) – "Somebody"(52:43) – "Blasphemous Rumors"(01:02:14) – "Master And Servant" __________ Alle Shownotes und weiterführenden Links zur Folge "Some Great Reward" findet ihr hier: https://www.swr.de/swr1/rp/meilensteine/swr1-meilensteine-depeche-mode-some-great-reward-100.html __________ Ihr wollt mehr Podcasts wie diesen? NEW EPISODE UP! What's your most loved and least favorite song on Depeche Mode's Memento Mori album?! We were prepping to take a year off but Sam's suggestion to rank DM's latest before it was even released was too tempting to not do ASAP. It still took us weeks to record and almost a year to release but it's fun to hear our fresh reactions. Even more fun is finally recording recollections of decades of memories of one of our favorite bands of all-time since we hadn't started a podcast when we ranked Black Celebration a few years ago. After splitting from Depeche Mode in 1995, Alan Wilder focused his full attention on Recoil, his side-project going back to the mid-1980s. In 1997, the same year DM released "Ultra," Wilder released the fourth Recoil studio album, "Unsound Methods." Free to explore the electronic soundscape, Wilder enlisted several vocalists to tackle the electronic/trip-hop material, including Douglas McCarthy from Nitzer Ebb and NYC spoken word artist Maggie Estep. The result is both of the time and ahead of its time, fitting in nicely with the mid-90s trip-hop sounds of Massive Attack, Sneaker Pimps, and Portishead, while also foreshadowing the more experimental and cinematic sounds of James Lavelle's Unkle. With their seventh release, 1990s 'Violator', Depeche Mode completed their transformation from quirky synth-pop pioneers to international rock stars. A more stripped-down, sinister sound aided by producer Flood perfectly showcases these dark songs about guilt, salvation and obsession. It's a sound that this week's guest, poet and music lover Sarah Nichols, has kept close to her heart for over 30 years. Songs featured in this episode: Enjoy The Silence - Tori Amos; Run - New Order; Pictures Of You - The Cure; Behind The Wheel (Live 1988, Pasadena CA) - Depeche Mode; Temptation - New Order; People Are People, Stripped, A Question Of Time, World In My Eyes, Sweetest Perfection - Depeche Mode; Personal Jesus - Marilyn Manson; Personal Jesus - Johnny Cash; Personal Jesus, Halo, Waiting For The Night, Enjoy The Silence, Policy Of Truth - Depeche Mode; Fascination Street - The Cure; Blue Dress - Depeche Mode; One Of These Days - Pink Floyd; Clean, Ghosts Again - Depeche Mode
In part 1 of our trilogy of Depeche Mode episodes, we discuss the first phase of Depeche Mode's career. We get our synths out, bounce around the room, and speak and spell out the early days of Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher, Alan Wilder, Vince Clarke, and Dave Gahan. So, don't fret about any broken frames because it's construction time again with more than just some great reward at the end. I'll see myself out. EAGLE SESSIONS #329 Eagle Sessions Number 329 is out now. This time with a fun guestmix by a good buddy of mine. Say ‘Hello' to DERALINEA! He himself describes his musical development as that of house music: from disco to R'n'B to Kraftwerk. At the age of 14, he stocked his vinyl collection with disco, soul and funk. Artists such as Gloria Gaynor or Earth, Wind & Fire were pioneers who determined his sound when he frst started playing in public at the age of 16. To this day, the musician is fascinated by the wide range between Detroit, Chicago House and Techno. On his musical journey, he pursues a clear goal: to always remain open to all electronic genres. DerAlinea stands for a cross-genre style mix of house, techno, deep and minimal techno. The focus, however, is on quality, which is not measured by genres but by thinking outside the box. "For me, the value of good electronic music lies in the fact that tracks dare to do something," the artist defnes it. "In my case, that also means moving back to the (analogue) times of the 303, 808, Moogs, Jupiter's and DX7's" After times of reinventing himself, all his concentration is now on what he loves: the music. "DerAlinea" was born, a name as a programme - after all, "Alinea" marks a paragraph, a new beginning. The essence: sustainable productions, releases and the booking business. As an artist and booker, DerAlinea is now part of the Swiss Nervoes family, resident and musical idea generator at Club Frau Holle in Hamburg. He never let himself be diverted from the path of making his own sound, remaining unpretentious and multilayered. DerAlinea wants to introduce people to music that is perhaps unknown but exciting. As a DJ, he sees himself as part of an event, drifting and musically engaging with what is moving at the moment. "I prefer to play long sets where I become one with the audience and follow the dynamics. I want people to go home happy at the end of a long night. "Chicago House, especially Frankie Knuckles, is his lasting inspiration. He is also inspired by the innovative production techniques of Alan Wilder, the unorthodox of Ricardo Villalobos, and artists who creatively bring music to the forefront. Emotionality and passion for inspired creation are omnipresent and also allow the thoroughbred musician to grow constantly. "Life is too short to do something without passion. "Was soll jetzt noch kommen?" dachte sich ein erschöpfter Dave Gahan 1988 backstage im Rose Bowl Stadion in Pasadena nach der Mega-Show vor 70 000 Fans. Was folgte, war 1990 DAS ultimative Depeche Mode-Album, nicht nur aus kommerzieller Sicht. "Violator" ist ein Meilenstein des Genres Synth-Pop - und mehr.
In this installment, the boys remain guestless as they discuss a new product called Computer Gun (probably used by some kid in Quincy), where to get space suits, and getting Columbo'd. All this happens while the lads have a paste party, and manage to discuss Depeche Mode's 2005 album "Playing the Angel". Also, Christopher knows that Alan Wilder is not in Erasure. He misspoke.
Finally, you can hear the long held secrets of how we met each other and started the podcast, followed by a quick recap of the five records we talked about before we decided to start recording our chats: Depeche Mode-Black Celebration, The Cure-Head On The Door, INXS-Kick, Tears For Fears-Songs From The Big Chair and the Pretty In Pink soundtrack. Metal Interview de CROWN représenté par Stéphane Azam et David Husser pour parler de "The End of All Things" attendu le 16 avril 2021 via Pelagic Records. ▬ About Crown ▬ The End Of All Things is for C R O W N what Kid A was for Radiohead: an album that nobody was expecting from them. Dark and moody; bleak and sublime; airy and crushing; mesmerizing and engrossing; bold yet unerring; strident, danceable and suffocating, all at the same time. An album oozing with tasteful, fragile hooklines flirting with the abyss they are hovering above, encapsulated within an ingenious major production, provided by one half of C R O W N himself: David Husser has worked as a sound engineer, producer and musician all across the globe with artists like Alan Wilder o f Depeche Mode or at Peter Gabriel's Real World studio, and has toured with his industrial band Y Front alongside Rammstein in the 90s. Paul Kendall (Mute Records, NIN, Nick Cave) said about David: "a distorting diamond... we have collaborated on a number of projects and I have been amazed by his ability to teach an old dog new tricks. He is simply the best recording engineer I have ever met". The other half of C R O W N is founding father and vocalist Stéphane Azam, who has worked as live sound engineer for French blackgaze pioneers Alcest for years. Stéphane's low, soothing voice on The End Of All Things comes as a complete surprise to anyone familiar with the band's previous 2 records, which featured mostly screamed vocals – a fact showcasing the immense versatility of the musicians at work here. Furthermore, In contrary to previous efforts, there are (almost) no vocal guest appearances on The End Of All Things – 'almost', because Karin Parks of Årabrot lends her beautiful voice to closing track Utopia. David pushed Stéphane from the start of the writing and recording process to do all the vocals himself, for the sake of coherence: he wanted the band and the album to have one single "captain of the vessel. Stéph sings with a very low voice now, and it was a challenge to make space for that sound- and production -wise, we had to find some kind of relief in the low register. It took us pretty long to find what we consider the right recipe to make it work", Husser explains. Crown started out in 2011 as 2 men and a drum machine, and their debut album instantly got them an invitation to the prestigious Roadburn festival in 2013, and a record deal with Candlelight. The duo's early sound was defined by hissing electronics, soaring heavy guitars and the absence of "real" drums, touching on industrial metal acts like Godflesh, Ministry or Killing Joke. The End Of All Things is clearly a departure from that sound in almost every imaginable way. "Life is change, its the only thing we can always expect", says Husser. "It's the same with music. I personally feel offended when a band just regurgitates their own ideas and delivers a copy of the previous album, over and again... I want to take risks and let myself in for adventures and ventures nto new territories, otherwise it wouldn't be art anymore". The End Of All Things'is a seminal album, which could well turn into a new 'Shape Of Heavy Music To Come'. Get involved. "A nihilistic listening experience" – The Quietus ▬ TRACKLIST▬ 1. Violence 2. It’s time for Steve and Remfry to delve into their big box of classic albums and pull out another one of their all time favorite records. We’re going slightly off piste this week, as we delve deep into the career of electro pop innovators turned synth rock megastars Depeche Mode. In this first part, you might be surprised to learn, we have picked the band's 1987 sixth album Music For The Masses. Sandwiched between the groundbreaking Black Celebration and the commercial juggernaut of Violator, MFTM is scandalously overlooked in the DM back catalogue, and we discuss why it is the best (YOU HEARD ME, BEST) Depeche Mode album. Starting with a quick potted history of the band, and of electronic music, we look at the ongoing improvements in the studio, the increasing involvement of Alan Wilder, how the finished album started to change the perception of the band, the tour that followed the record and, of course, the huge Pasadena Rose Bowl show that cemented the band as a stadium act and was captured on the infamous 101 live tour document. Before teasing the second part of this double bill, where we will be looking at Violator; Part two is available at patreon.com/riotactpodcast. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Depeche Mode made a decision to minimize their pre-production work when they created their seventh studio album. It must have worked, becauce Violator would become their breakthrough international album. Keyboardist Andy Fletcher, keyboardist and vocalist Martin Gore, also keyboardist and drum machinist Alan Wilder, and lead man Dave Gahan had previously hit the charts with their 1984 single “People Are People.” This album would see crossover success led by the monster hit “Personal Jesus.” While the album was released in May of 1990, the last single from the album came out in September 1990.Depeche Mode is best known as a keyboard-powered synth pop band, primarily successful in Europe up until this time. The band name comes from a French fashion magazine, which had at one time considered making the band give up the name — but they decided to leave things alone. The band was bringing more attention to the magazine, so it was a smart decision to let the band continue with the name. The name of the album was a bit of a joke, poking fun at heavy metal albums of the time. The group had decided to take a break from the extensive pre-planning that had marked the development of their previous albums. Perhaps the increased spontaneity helped propel this album to a crossover success. We hope you enjoy this album discussion and thoughts on 1990. World In My EyesThis lead song was the fourth and final single from the album, and was released in September 1990. Martin Gore liked this song because of its upbeat tone, though “upbeat” might be a rather fluid description. You get a sense of the keyboard-heavy foundation of the band with this song.Enjoy the SilenceThis hit song was originally written by Martin Gore as a ballad, but the producer, Alan Wilder increased the tempo and made it a dance song. The lyrics are dark, but Martin Gore considered the dark lyrics “more authentic.”Personal JesusThis is the monster hit from the album, and boasts a rare guitar riff among the keyboards. This top 40 hit has been covered by a number of artists, including Johnny Cash, Marilyn Manson, and Sammy Hagar. The lyrics are about having someone as an idol in your life - dependent upon you in an unhealthy way. David Gahan, after a wild youth, is now a sacramental convert to the Greek Orthodox Church.CleanA deeper cut from the album, this track was heavily inspired by Pink Floyd's “One of these Days” from 1971. ENTERTAINMENT TRACK:Theme from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh PrinceWill Smith made rap accessible, while starting his career as a celebrity through his acting on this comedy show. STAFF PICKS:Fly to the Angels by SlaughterThe band name for Brian's staff pick sounds like a heavy metal name picked out of a hat, but it is actually the name of their frontman, Mark Slaughter. The song is a ballad about a friend who has passed away. The song comes from the 1990 album "Stick It To Ya." Fly to the Angels propelled Slaughter to stardom during a time when the Hair Bands were on their way out and Grunge was on its way in.Mansion on the Hill by Neil Young and Crazy HorseWayne brings us the guy that was grunge before grunge was cool. This song and album was recorded with very little production, which gives it a live feel. The Mansion on the Hill is about a place where “psychedelic music fills the air.”Thunderstruck by AC/DCBrian's staff pick is the lead single off AC/DC's 12th studio album (11th international release). Angus Young is playing a single string with no picking, just hammer on and pull offs using the second string. The song name came from a toy made by The Ideal Company called ThunderStreak, which was a wooden hydrofoil boat that was powered with a rubber band wind-up propeller.Candy by Iggy Pop and Kate PiersonRob's pick rounds things out with a crossover alternative rock hit. Iggy Pop tells of a lost love from his perspective in one verse, then Kate Pierson (from the B-52's) picks up the next verse from the lost love's perspective. INSTRUMENTAL TRACK:For the Love of God by Steve VaiGuitar virtuoso Steve Vai takes us out on this week's podcast with an eastern influenced instrumental riff.

Episode 89: Depeche Mode – Some Great Reward (1984) Part 3 In the United States, the unofficial end to summer is here, and so is the end of Brian and Sarah's discussion of Some Great Reward. The fourth album by Depeche Mode is about to celebrate its 35th anniversary, and our hosts have very much enjoyed taking a fond look back at it. Part 3 –Track by Track, continued Before getting back into the song discussion, there are some voicemails from listeners to share from locations across the globe. Then it's back to Some Great Reward. There are only two more songs on the album to talk about, but our hosts still have plenty to say! One of the songs is one of the few Alan Wilder-penned works in the Depeche Mode catalogue, and Sarah talks about why that was the case. The hosts also get into a discussion about English grammar, which threatens to distract Brian from the topic at hand. Thankfully, they get back on track to talk about the album closer and its video. If You Want Blasphemous Rumours Part 4 – Extra Credit In a contrast to some album reviews where there is no Extra Credit section, there are two topics addressed in this Extra Credit section. First, Brian talks about "The World We Live in and Live in Hamburg," the first Depeche Mode live concert performance released on video. He shows off his old VHS tape of the concert (only to Sarah, of course, but she confirms he does so), talks about its importance in his life, and also explains why this concert has not seen a re-release onto newer video formats. Then, Sarah goes over the two B-sides associated with this album: “In Your Memory” and “(Set Me Free) Remotivate Me.” She reminds the listeners that one of these songs was also mentioned in Episode 50, where the hosts discussed "Some Great B-Sides" by Depeche Mode. She shares her thoughts on both songs and declares her preference, with Brian chiming in as well. Part 5 – Final Review and Rating Brian goes first with his review and rating, and he is surprisingly brief. But throughout the three episodes, he has made it quite clear just how important this album is to him and what an impact it made on his life, so this is more a confirmation of what is probably already known. Sarah also explains that this was a very important album for her as well, but because of the timing of when she was introduced to it, the impact on her is slightly different than it was for Brian. She hems and haws a bit when it comes to her rating, but finally settles on a number, of which Brian heartily approves.
Our guest today on “ADD Comedy with Dave Razowsky” is Alan Wilder. Alan is a Joseph Jefferson Award-nominated ensemble member at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theater, and he’s appeared in over 60 Steppenwolf productions all over the world. He’s also appeared on numerous shows on NBC, CBS, HBO, and FOX. Alan’s hilarious, and smart, and wise, and honest. We chatted in Chicago at Steppenwolf’s rehearsal space located alongside the “el” tracks at Halsted and North. We had a blast and could have talked for a long time. Enjoy!

It's Called A Heart (Extended) - Depeche Mode Notes and other random things: I hope this time around I will get to do some notes on some of the tracks in this episode. I'm guessing most would rather hear the music than read a bunch of ramblings from a guy stuck in the 80s, but I'll do my best to keep the total package intact. I do want to quickly point out to readers/listeners that this episode did manage to earn an "Explicit" tag due to some thematic issues in a couple of the songs. While the language is generally fine, there is one "slut" outburst in the Berlin tune and some sketchy noises in a couple of the songs typically associated with carnal activities. Just wanted any parents out there to be aware should you feel like playing this mix in the car or somewhere where inquisitve and/or impressionable kids might be within earshot. Berlin and Beloved are the problematic songs, so just fast-forward through those if you're concerned. On to the songs ... Leading off things is a Bomb The Bass remix of the DM classic, "Strangelove". It's an appropriate first track, I suppose, as the song was the first single off the Music for the Masses album, which was released in 1987. While eminently successful at that point in their career, it's probably the album that nudged DM toward super-stardom, an interesting turn of events considering the band chose the album name as a lark, a snide dismissal of the suggestion that they create more commercially successful music. While the compositions on the album were more sparsely arranged than previous albums and darker in tonality, the album was a critical and commercial success, effectively making DM a musical fixture among the masses, something they jokingly embraced in selecting the title. As for the song itself, it was originally a high-energy pop song, but Mute founder and producer Daniel Miller thought the overall feel of the track wasn't a good fit for the album. Miller's remixed version is the one that shows up on Music for the Masses. Bomb The Bass, by the way, is the one-man audio production team, Tim Simenon. Simenon found early success in the mid-80s as a musician creating drum tracks and basslines, then "bombing" them with a variety of samples and noises. His first single, "Beat Dis", which contained 72 samples including bits and pieces from Public Enemy to Ennio Morricone to anything in between, was one of the first tracks to introduce sampling into the musical vernacular. "World in Motion" was a song written by New Order in support of England's 1990 FIFA World Cup campaign. Believe it or not, the tune still stands as New Order's only #1 hit on the UK singles charts, holding the top spot for 2 consecutive weeks. The song is credited to ENGLAND New Order, most likely because members of that era's football (soccer) team, including left-winger and future hall-of-famer, John Barnes, contributed vocals and rapping to the song. Last year, a blog entry in NME magazine celebrated the 25th anniversary of perhaps the greatest sports-themed anthem of all time with a look at ten "geeky" facts about the song. I've reposted them below. 1. New Order drummer Steve Morris claims the band's manager, Tony Wilson, tricked the FA and the band into working with each other. "Knowing Tony, he probably sold them the idea of us doing a song and then told us the FA had come up with the brilliant idea." 2. In fact, he and instrumentalist Gillian Gilbert initially thought the offer of making the song was a joke. They had another offer of work on the table – with director Michael Powell – but eventually chose to delay that until the following year. Later, on the day they started recording 'World in Motion', they received a phone call saying Powell had died. "We made the right decision," they said. "We'd have looked like proper charlies working with a dead director." 3. Gilbert and Morris were actually pretty crucial to the song – the track was adapted from one of their compositions as The Other Two, which was originally written for BBC's 'Reportage'. 4. At the time, when NME asked footballer John Barnes how excited he was to be collaborating on a football song, he responded: "If I thought it was going to be the same as the usual crap, why bother? But this is alright." Barnes' rap was written by the man himself and performed - legend has it - in one take. 5. When the FA heard "love's got the world in motion", they asked the band to replace "love's" with "we've". The band refused. "It's an anti-hooligan song", they said. Too right. 6. Morris, in a crisis of ambiguity, called coming up with the lyrics a "nightmare", because he wanted to avoid any association with football violence while being cheeky enough that "if it all went pear-shaped, at least we could say it was a joke." He later said, "I couldn't imagine it being anything other than 'World Cup Willy', but Keith Allen got involved and made it funny." 7. Keith Allen, who co-wrote 'World In Motion', wanted it to be called 'E for England', with lyrics that ran: "E is for England, England starts with E / We'll all be smiling when we're in Italy." The FA vetoed the decision. Looking back at it in 1993, he was diplomatic: "I think at the time there were certain drug-related overtones that didn't appeal to either Top of the Pops or the record company." Allen was later involved in 1998 unofficial England song 'Vindaloo'. 8. At the time the song was released, lead singer Bernard Sumner told NME, "This should be the last straw for Joy Division fans." Make of that what you will. 9. Reflecting on the song years later, Morris said that it may have changed football. "It did come at a bit of a turning point for football. Until that point it was all very laddish. After 'World in Motion' everybody got a bit loved-up with it." 10. Barnes recently revealed that he had to do a rap-off with Paul Gascoigne, Steve McMahon, Peter Beardsley and Des Walker before he was picked to perform the rap. The question is - did Gazza cry when he lost out that time too? By the way, the song that would knock "World in Motion" from it's lofty perch at #1? "Sacrifice" by Elton John. For shame! Produced by the great Trevor Horn and appearing on the album Introspective, as well as being one of the longest tracks in their musical repertoire, "Left to My Own Devices" by the Pet Shop Boys was intended to be an "experiment in seeing how mundane a pop song could be, before setting it against extravagant music," according to lead singer Neil Tennant. No doubt, the song adds touches of classical music, specifically orchestral phrases culled from Claude Debussy's "Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune" ("Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun"), to the proceedings. However, this mundane song is rife with supposedly biographical or semi-biographical information from Tennant's youth that he ambiguously puts on display topped off with an idiomatic title. Whether lyrics about "roundheads" (a reference to Pro-Parliamentary forces in the English civil war) the sun and brochures and Che Guevara are self-referential terms about the Boys' "alternative" lifestyles is a matter of conjecture and I'll leave it to smarter people than myself to pour over the details. Frankly, I don't care what the meaning. I prefer just to listen and enjoy. In a previous episode, I mentioned the numerous contributions of Nick Rhodes to the success of Duran Duran. Perhaps his biggest was that of a visionary as he quickly seized on the potential of the music video. He was the one who pushed the band toward more elaborate productions, a somewhat questionable decision at the dawn of the 80s as the phenomenon that would come to be known as MTV was still months away from its eventual August 1, 1981 launch date. Not to mention, at that time, nobody could have actually predicted the overwhelming success of the network and the lasting impact it would have on the music industry. Released in July of 1981, "Girls On Film" was the third single from Double D's self-titled album. Interestingly, it was the band that chose the song to be their third single after a dismal showing by the second single, "Careless Memories", a song that had been selected by their label, EMI. Though "Careless Memories" reached #37 in the UK, it was perceived as a failure because the first single, "Planet Earth", had been a Top 20 hit. "Careless Memories" was also the song chosen to herald the soon-to-be released full-length album. That the band chose "Girls On Film", a staple at live performances, as the group's third single was fortuitous. It helped album sales overseas, though it did not initially chart in the US. After the follow-up success of the Rio album in 1982, their first album was re-issued in the states in 1983 and became certified platinum in 1985. While the song is no doubt a great one, it was the video, which was originally filmed in 1981 a few weeks prior to the launch of MTV, that made serious waves and caused serious consternation among parents and network censors. The uncut version circulated regularly on the Playboy Channel as it was deemed too pornographic for MTV. It was also banned on the BBC. A heavily-edited "day" version was created for regular airplay and is the one with which most of us are familiar. And though the song had already achieved chart success, it was that video, directed by Godley & Creme, that kept people talking and kept the band firmly in the public eye. Simon Le Bon would later lament that the scandalous nature of the video obscured the message of the song, which was about the exploitation of models in the fashion industry. To end this episode, I figured I'd include the most reviled song in the Depeche Mode catalog. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but both Martin Gore and Alan Wilder have, on numerous occasions, described "It's Called A Heart" as their least favorite single ever recorded by DM. Wilder admitted he was "anti even recording, let alone releasing it". So, why the high level of disdain for the song? Seems the band, especially Wilder, thought that the b-side, "Fly On The Windscreen" was a stronger song and should have been released as the band's next single at the time. Apparently, the record label didn't like the fact the first word of the song was "death". Yet Wilder argues: "I fought tooth-and-nail on behalf of the B-side Fly on the Windscreen which was far superior. To me, the whole thing was a serious backward step. I felt we'd worked diligently to build up recognition for a harder sound, with more depth and maturity, and here was this ultra poppy number that did nothing for our reputation." When asked in an interview if he could turn back time and do something over again, Wilder responded: "I don't think I'd change much, apart from some of the hair styles and those daft boots I wore in 101. Oh, and I'd also make sure that I missed my wake-up call on the day we made the video for It's Called a Heart." Wilder says of the video concept, "Quite how [Peter Care, the director] equated 'calling something a heart' with twirling cameras around on the end of a string in a field of corn in Reading dressed in a skirt, I'll never be able to tell you." Wilder hated the song so much that he answered the question "In your opinion, what makes up a true DM fan?" with "Anyone who still gives us the time of day after having heard It's Called a Heart". Remixes didn't fare much better in Wilder's eyes. He once commented on the "Slow Mix" version of the song, "...you do need to be particularly devout to endure it - slowing it down to half speed made it twice as long - probably not a very good idea - twice the agony." Okay, so Alan Wilder doesn't particularly care for the song, but I LOVE IT! And since I'm curating this podcast, I included all 7+ minutes of the Extended Mix for your listening enjoyment. That's it for this episode. I've got another podcast all figured out and I'll post it as soon I can find time to record it. Thanks for tuning in/listening/reading!
