This is a special episode where the roles are reversed! Jill is being interviewed by the amazing hosts of Liberated Podcast. Sandy and Michelle say… “In this episode, we chat with the amazing Jill Herman, our dear friend and host of the Top 100 Podcast BE YOU. She is also a Certified Trauma Informed Coach, successful entrepreneur and all round Goddess on the path of life. Jill is authentically herself, knows her truth and always shares her story with vulnerability. She gets real about what it took to blend kids with her husband TK and how their intention was the key to them thriving. She does not shy away from talking about the hard parts of bringing two families together and her honesty is so refreshing. From attachments, alcoholism, business success, finding yourself and unapologetically following your heart... you guys are in for a treat with this conversation!” Show Notes: [2:05] - Jill's spiritual awakening began at a retreat hosted by Sandy and Michelle. The experience literally changed her life's trajectory. [5:23] - Before her experience, Jill was always trying to follow the rules and always be a “good girl.” [9:54] - Our wounding drives the bus more than we know. [11:54] - To the outside world, Jill looked extremely healthy and successful. She got shit done until she couldn't anymore. [16:32] - When she married her husband, she realized they parented the way they ran their businesses. [18:34] - Jill shares her backstory - her first marriage at a young age and what she didn't notice. [22:28] - She was given a lot of signs and she ignored them all, staying with her husband struggling with addiction for many years. [28:28] - Jill tends to make big decisions and doesn't waste any time in executing them. When she decided she would separate from her husband, it happened fast. [34:01] - Blending a family needs intention and communication. [37:31] - Jill shares the differences between the kids in the blended family. [39:17] - Surrender is especially important in a blended family. [40:59] - One of the things they didn't do was put their blended family in a bubble. They let other people affect them. [45:10] - Sticking strictly to traditions is a way to stay in control. [53:57] - Because of the intentionality, communication, and surrender, this blended family is in such a great place even after all the shit thrown at them. [60:10] - Jill truly stepped out of her cage and continues to live outside of it, even though it is so easy to get back in. [62:37] - Although they have both done a ton of work on themselves, time and space was crucial. [65:13] - Jill talks about the relationships between her children and stepchildren. She also shares the experience of having a surprise grandchild that glues them together. [67:39] - Even though the “hatch was shut,” Jill and TK used the word “divorce” as a threat. [72:17] - Boundaries will only work for so long without doing the work on yourself. [75:44] - Never look outward at another person and look at the work they still need to do. Only look at the work you need to do. [77:23] - If you learn to love all the parts of you, you will learn to love all the parts of your spouse and kids. I know there was something in this episode that you were meant to hear. Let me know what that is. Thank you for being here today with me on our healing journeys.

Episode 32 This week, Miriam connects with her listeners to wish them a wonderful holiday season, read them and healing prayer and say the episode will take a break and release the next episode on January 12, 2022 Key Takeaways Update Ancient Prayer read twice Holiday Season Wishes These are words you can write to yourself or read them out loud. (This ancient blessing was created in the Nahuatl language, spoken in Mexico. It deals with forgiveness, affection, detachment, and liberation). “I release my parents from the feeling that they have failed me. I release my children from the need to bring pride to me; that they may write their own ways according to their hearts, that whisper all the time in their ears. I release my partner from the obligation to complete myself. I do not lack anything, I learn with all beings, all the time. I thank my grandparents and ancestors who have gathered so that I can breathe life today. I release them from past failures and unfulfilled desires, aware that they have done their very best to resolve their situations within the consciousness they had at that moment. I honor you, I love you and I recognize you as innocent. I am transparent before your eyes, so they know that I do not hide or owe anything other than being true to myself and to my very existence, that walking with the wisdom of the heart, I am aware that I fulfill my life purpose, free from invisible and visible family loyalties that might disturb my Peace and Happiness, which are my only responsibilities. I renounce the role of savior, of being one who unites or fulfills the expectations of others. Learning through, and only through, LOVE, I bless my essence, my way of expressing, even though somebody may not understand me. I understand myself because I alone have lived and experienced my history; because I know myself, I know who I am, what I feel, what I do and why I do it. I respect and approve of myself. I honor the Divinity in me and in you. We are free.” ABOUT THE HOST Miriam is a Certified Trauma Informed Coach, an African, a mom of three daughters, a blogger and writer.
