We discuss the show's premise, character dynamics, and the balance between Disney's influence and the essence of Star Wars. We also delve into the portrayal of pirates and the dystopian elements that reflect corporate culture. Our conversation also references various nostalgic elements from pop culture. How does Maggie pull off such an incredible Christmas Day Experience in such a short amount of time? Does it make sense to have your own butter pat you can use more than once per year? Recapping Season 6 Epsiodes 1 & 2 After a week off to celebrate their one year anniversary, the sisters-in-law are back and thrilled to be kicking off Season 6! Maggie is shocked but also not shocked that the writer's sent Mike to prison in Season 6. They girls are both shocked at some writing for both Louis and Donna that does not hold up well, then OR now! They both decide they'd take the $5000 if they were serving up law suits with lo mein. Amanda reminds Maggie about the craziest place they've found a large amount of cocaine. They're also happy to be back visiting their favorite place, Prediction Town™, just in time for the holidays! Visit onlysuitsfans.com for all things OSF. Recapping S5 Episodes 9 & 10 Maggie makes a bold statement that Season 5 Epsiodes 9 & 10 were the most jam-packed episodes since Mike and Rachel expressed their love for each other in the copy room! The girls are more than halfway there and have so much to gab about in this epsiode. They are so impressed by their podcast friend Josh, who listened to this podcast for over 11 hours while running. They both agree that food breeds loyalty. And speaking of food, they discuss the beloved McRib and how Amanda and Kyle (Amanda's brother/Maggie's husband) have an annual competition during this special season. They discover they have a shared pet trauma when their parents' put their pets down without giving them the decency of a heads up! And something they never dreamed would happen, finally happened! The girls have their first podcast studio stalker. It's still up for debate if this is purely a Door Dash coincidence, so we'll let you be the judge. Amanda nails down her top five for her laminated notecard and Maggie talks about how much due dilligence she would need to do if she was closing a business deal with Amanda. They both agree that when they don't know what to say they throw their feet in the air (like they just don't care)! They also don't want to go mudding with coworkers for fear of some butt mud cross-contamination. And with the help of their friend Whitney, they discover all the things you can and can't do as a therapist. Recapping Season 6 Epsiodes 11 & 12! Sometimes the circumstances DO matter and this episode is here to prove it. Maggie and Amanda discuss why the cast of Suits isn't wearing more sweatpants, what they'd order if they were having fancy takeout, and exactly what it means to get some Respect around here and take care of PCT! They also determine that Carl the Writer™ was foreshadowing Amanda being a Suits rewatch podcast co-host all those years ago. And now that we know one of Maggie's favorite songs on Suits, where do go from here? WHERE DO WE GO? WHO DO WE TRUST? Recapping Season 4 Epsiodes 9 & 10! Well Maggie needs a day. Maybe even two dayd after these episodes. Amanda tells the lenghts she went to to in order to hide the Pearson Specter Litt shirt from Maggie. Maggie thinks a good apology does involve six bean and cheese burritos. They both agree Harvey spends a lot of time dressed like a cast member of Party Down in these epsiodes and that Louis looks like someone who had too much fun at a wedding and tried too hard to shut it down at the hotel bar. Maggie makes her first WTF prediction in this episode but it won't be the last! Maggie tells us that EVERYONE should befriend a lawyer, if they haven't already, and gives us the exact directions on how to do so. They discover who Charles Fortsman really is and honestly, they are shook. While not happy to concede, Maggie finally agrees Cahill is blonde, and not just a silver fox. Recapping Season 4 Epsiodes 3 & 4! They're back for a double header again this week. Amanda is still dealing with "Tennis Elbow" (even though we all know it's Pickleball Elbow). The (memory of the) dimebags are back and Maggie has to remind Amanda that you can die from a marijuana overdose. Amanda does the worst Sean Connery impression you'll ever hear and they talk about who they kiss goodbye on a regular basis. In another round of questioning about what "hero" they'd like to meet, Amanda and Maggie add two great choices to their lists! And guess what? Neither of them really like olives. Oh well! An older episode that most haven't seen while Caleb adjusts to being back in town after going to California for the first time since he moved. Skinner is a DIABOLICALLY hilarious movie featuring none other than Ted Raimi & Ricki Lake. Directed by a man who had a relationship with one of Hollywood's most infamous Madam's. This is, Ricki Lake wearing Little House on the Prairie outfits. (Note: as some may already know, we no longer associate with Tough Guy/Devonte. However, this is still a very good episode and doesn't change the good times we had in the past. Yves Saint Laurent, Loulou de la Falaise, Pierre Cardin, Chanel, Givenchy, couture, prêt-à-porter and vintage shopping in the Paris flea markets, this week’s Episode trés chic. Meet Paris-based Australian-raised stylist and César-winning costume designer, Catherine Baba.Vogue calls her a “fashion eminence”. Vanity Fair? An “original”. Indeed that magazine just included her on its 2017 Best Dressed List. She is also an accessories designer with her own line of sunglasses, a massive vintage fan and a walking fashion encyclopaedia with a particular fascination with the history of Paris fashion in the 1970s. But best of all, she's a mad keen cycler. Could there be there a more glamorous eco-aware-transport influencer? Pas possible! Please do check the shownotes to see some delightful photos of her pedalling around Paris. Riding a bike to the fashion week shows wearing a vintage kimono, high heels or even couture? No problem, darling. “It creates an aero-dynamism to the look,” she says. We recorded this interview at the Perth Fashion Festival soon after Yves Saint Laurent’s partner Pierre Bergé died, and we drill deep into what makes Paris fashion tick and how it has changed. This Episode is another insider's guide, a companion piece to Epsiodes 12, 13 & 14 with Simon Doonan, Stephen Jones and Linda Jackson. For anyone who loves the creativity and artistry that makes fashion tick, these shows are for you. Find the Full Show Notes Post at www.IdeaCharger.com/Episode21 "We become the average of the five people with whom we spend the most time." - Attributed to so many different people on the internet, let's just accept this as FACT, shall we? A couple of years ago, I committed to meet with a group of colleagues who are all speakers, facilitators, and experts of various topics on a monthly basis. While our businesses were, by trade, quite similar, how we each go about running them varies somewhat. Each of us is at a different stage of maturity with our business (some might argue in general as well)...but committing to get together regularly and hold each other accountable for progress has proven a worthwhile exercise. Over these last two years, we have seen the ups and downs of one another's practices, and been there to lend support, friendship, ideas and sometimes just a listening ear. One of the members of my group is a sales leadership consultant, speaker and fellow podcaster, Jim Jacobus. In fact, it was Jim who challenged the members of our group to each launch a podcast of our own....so I owe him a THANK YOU on behalf of each of the listeners of the Success Charger Podcast for his encouragement for me to even launch the show in the first place. I am a listener of Jim's Podcast, and in a 4-part series he started on November 19th, 2015, he has again encouraged me to raise the bar. Sometimes it is just better to send you to the source, than try to explain what I learned for myself. My challenge to you this week is to download and listen to the four-episode series Jim produced on the "Four Questions You Should Ask Yourself Each Year". Here are the links to the episodes on Jim's Podcast, and I hope you'll find them as helpful as I did. (HINT: If you are short on time and just want to cut to the chase, he does a nice, albeit brief, recap on the fourth episode....but I'd recommend listening to all four. They are about 20 or so minutes each.) You can also find these on iTunes Podcasts: Search for "In The Sales Arena" or via this link (Epsiodes 64-67) Four Questions to Ask Yourself What is Not Working for You and How Can You Make It Start Working? What New Thing Do You Want To Do In 2016? What Are You Going to do in 2016 That is BIG? Listen with the links above, download them for that trip to the in-laws, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
