What Is Burnout? How Can You Recognize It? And How Can You Recover From It? One major sign of burnout is waking up every day feeling apathetic. That feeling of nothing goes my way, I have a black crowd over my head, feeling exhausted, barely able to get myself out of bed, or crashing at the end of the day. Likewise, a lot of times people who experience burnout have frequent colds, gut health issues, or autoimmune diseases are triggered. Ultimately, stress causes illness and disease in the body. Emotional flare-ups occur more frequently when burnout is present. People are triggered more easily with emotions such as guilt, shame, or embarrassment. These are all signs of burnout. Stress Versus Burnout Stress is short-term. You may stretch yourself thin, push yourself beyond your limits for a short period of time, but then are able to come back to center, regroup, or recover and then maybe do it again. Burnout is when you have a prolonged period of excessive stress that doesn't end. You stay consistently stressed over a longer period of time. The body can acclimate to this level of stress and people live in this one trajectory never realizing they are burning themselves out. However, if you’re looking to get your cravings for specific foods under control, you’re in luck. I’m about to share how I personally eliminated my food cravings, and you can too. I used to have mad food cravings for bread, oats, and of course, ice cream. It got to the point where I’d have a bowl of oats, then I’d add more oats to the bowl, and a little more. You get the point. I just couldn’t fill myself up on oats. But when it comes to cravings, it doesn’t matter what type of food it is. If you continuously crave a certain food, and you over eat it, it’s not helping you Live Lean. Sound familiar? Here’s the common theme of foods you crave. In most cases, the types of foods that you crave are high in carbohydrates, in particular refined sugar. Carbohydrates convert to sugar in the body, which can cause a quick spike in your blood sugar. On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m teaching you how to do drop sets correctly for muscle growth. ✔ Full Blog Post: https://bit.ly/39cwkJk Let’s talk about one of the best loading parameters to increase strength and muscle faster, drop sets! Drop sets are also referred to as: down the rack, railroading, suicide sets, and surfing the rack. Drop sets are also referred to as "Down the rack", "surfing the rack", "railroading", and "suicide sets". With names like that, you know they’ve been proven to be better than standard sets for increasing maximal strength and muscle. How To Do Drop Sets Correctly Here’s an example of how to do drop sets correctly during a back exercise, such as a neutral grip seated cable row. This is one of the times I like to use pinned machines, since you can quickly switch weights, with little effort. For strength building, I like to train my back in the 8 rep range. Here is an excellent example of how to build your back with a drop set. 1. Select a weight that will exhaust your higher threshold muscle fibers on the 8th rep. 2. Once you hit exhaustion, which should be around 8 reps if you choose the right weight, immediately decrease the weight by 5-10%. 3. The time it takes to reduce the weight should only be 3 seconds. This is important because you do not want to take the tension off the muscle for too long. This will defeat the purpose of drop sets, since you want to prolong the time under tension for that muscle group. 4. Now perform as many reps as possible with the decreased weight, which typically will be 3-4 reps. 5. Then drop the weight again by 5-10% and perform as many reps as possible, which will once again typically be 3-4 reps. 6. Congratulations, you just completed one drop set. Rest, then repeat that drop set 2-3 more times. This was just one example of a drop set to target your back. SPORTS MICHAEL PHELPS Won 25 medals! record for ANY olympian of ANY time in HISTORY. As a kid diagnosed with ADHD. Kindergarten teacher told mother “Michael can’t sit still / quiet / not gifted / never be able to focus on anything”. Michael spend lots of punishment time by lifeguard stand of pool disruptive behavior. Flash forward today his coach Bob Bowman (been with M since 11) says “Michael’s ability to focus = strongest attribute”. Utilized selected focus. From 14 onward trained 7 days / wk 365. Training Sundays got extra 52 days yr. Spent up to 6hrs a day swimming. FIXED: I can’t focus - screw this. GROWTH: I want this - keep showing up. Training 7 days a week. 6. BUSINESS FIXED: My channel - "Nothing works". Discouraged and ready to quit. GROWTH: Realization that the only real metric that matters is growth. As long as the growth percentage rate is increasing - everything will follow. Over time. So i decided to hustle and push myself harder than I had ever pushed. Model successful channels, see what works here (book summaries), make it less about me and what I want to talk about - more about you and fill a need. Over 6 months channeled doubled. On track to double every 3 months. Have +4,000 subscribers a month growth vs. back in March had +300. 7. MONEY FIXED: I'm POOR - I can't afford it GROWTH: I'm BROKE - how can I afford it? 8. RELATIONSHIPS FIXED: Mindset in relationship: "Never find love again” “I’m unlovable” “Im a bad person they didn’t want to be with”. FIXED: If we have to work at it, means we're not good together. or Blame partner for everything. GROWTH: "Good you broke up, only have so much time / room in your life - now you have that to find a healthier person for you. Wouldn’t want to be with anyone who didn’t want to be with us!” GROWTH: How am I that? Always 2 sides no matter how thin slice it. 9. TIP: Honest and sincere doesn't mean BIG and massive. Simple, “Hey, you’re a really solid speaker. "Brittany Friedrich, You are an Ironman!" Full Blog Post & Show Notes: http://bit.ly/2ait84U These are the words that Brittany imagined hearing for her 365 days of training, mental preparation and nutrition practice. Realized in a words cannot describe type of way on Sunday, July 24, 2016 when she crossed the finish line at Ironman Lake Placid. Not only a finish but an impressive race execution placing her 4th overall in her division. A competitive swimmer for most of her life she exited the water in 2nd place missing the ROKA First Out of the Water Award by 2 seconds. She describes the swim as a "madhouse", but a seasoned pro in the water the craziness of the experience had little effect on her performance. She sailed through the day with spot on nutrition, resiliency and smart decisions taking some insight from our IMLP course preview podcast. Brittany dishes about growing up in the Adirondacks and her earliest memories of Ironman Lake Placid, her inspiration to sign up, training and race day adventure. She shares her wisdom on how to set big goals and reach them and lends words of encouragement for those who don't think they can reach their dreams. We're so excited for Brittany's top notch performance on Sunday and look forward to seeing this YogiTriathlete thrive in multi-sport and beyond.
Tennessee relocation statute allows parents, under certain circumstances, to move out of Tennessee with the child—even over the objection of the other parent. The law requires the parent desiring to move outside of Tennessee or more than fifty miles from the other parent, to give notice of that desire. The notice of intent to relocate must contain the following information: Statement of intent to move; Location of proposed new residence; Reasons for proposed relocation; and Statement that the other parent may file a petition in opposition to the move within thirty (30) days of receipt of the notice. The non-relocating parent must file a petition opposing the move or the relocating parent will be allowed to move. In such a situation there must either be an agreement on a new visitation schedule or the court will be forced to decide how best to create a schedule to foster and continue the child's relationship with the other parent. If the parents are spending substantially equal time with the child the court will decide whether or not to allow the move based solely on what would be in the best interest of the child. Where the parents are not spending substantially equal time with the child, the primary residential parent will be allow to move, even over the objection of the other parent, unless the other parent can prove one of the following: The relocation does not have a reasonable purpose; The relocation would pose a threat of specific and serious harm to the child that outweighs the threat of harm to the child of a change of custody; or The parent's motive for relocating with the child is vindictive in that it is intended to defeat or deter visitation rights of the non-custodial parent or the parent spending less time with the child. Even if one of these factors exists, the court can still allow the move if the court finds the move would be in the best interest of the minor child. Full Blog Post

We begin on the lighter side with an update on our Ride the High Vibe tour and when I say our, I mean ours - yours and mine. This is an energetic manifestation of purpose that requires forward motion and support everyday. We’re finding that since arriving in Lake Placid and setting out on this journey that our days are full. We are so jazzed by the possibilities of this tour and the connections that we’ve already made that we are constantly reminded that we are on track. Things are starting to fall into place for our next destination and we share some exciting news about that on the show today.

In this installment, I am joined by my husband BJ and we reveal some big news that we believe will not only change our lives but the lives of many. Unlike most decision-making and change, this was not born from a pro-con list or weighing options. The initial inspiration and vision was downloaded to me during a meditation with an unquestionable sense of knowing that this is exactly what we were supposed to do. And so now we embark on the journey of a lifetime steeped in service and community, involving great risk and extreme faith that we are practicing every single day.
