Today on the Clean Power Hour, Tim Montague explores an innovative approach to geothermal energy with Johanna Ostrom. Johanna is the COO of Gradient Geothermal, where she leads efforts to transform the energy sector by harnessing geothermal resources to reduce emissions from oil and gas wells. With a strong background in engineering and a proven track record in the oil and gas sector, Johanna and the team at Gradient Geothermal is pioneering innovative approaches to energy co-production and oilfield transitions. She is also deeply committed to workforce development, diversity, and sustainability, serving on several committees, including Geothermal Rising's Policy and DEI Committees. A mother of three, Johanna is passionate about creating a net-zero future and ensuring the next generation inherits a resilient, cleaner energy system.Today's conversation delves into the remarkable potential of repurposing approximately 500,000 wells across the United States for geothermal energy production. Ostrom explains their pioneering HXC sled technology, which uses organic Rankine cycle systems to capture waste heat from active and inactive wells, converting it into usable electricity and thermal energy for nearby communities. This episode offers unique insights into the intersection of traditional energy infrastructure and renewable solutions, demonstrating how existing oil and gas wells can play a crucial role in our clean energy future. Whether you're interested in renewable energy innovations, the future of geothermal power, or the transformation of traditional energy infrastructure, this conversation provides valuable perspectives on practical solutions for the energy transition.Social Media HandlesJohanna OstrumGradient Geothermal Support the showConnect with Tim Clean Power Hour Clean Power Hour on YouTubeTim on TwitterTim on LinkedIn Email tim@cleanpowerhour.com Review Clean Power Hour on Apple PodcastsThe Clean Power Hour is produced by the Clean Power Consulting Group and created by Tim Montague. Put on your seatbelts, kids. This episode we're taking a road trip up to Boston! Dischord 7.5 is SSD's "The Kids Will Have Their Say", a hands-down historic and game-changing record in early hXc. Al Barile expanded Ian's idea of straight edge from a personal statement into a social and political movement with this LP. We had the pleasure of talking to Nancy Barile (a key mover and shaker in both the early Philly and Boston scenes, who writes and speaks with passion and insight about those times), Al Barile crashes the interview in the best, most unexpected way possible, and we also briefly hear opinions on "Kids" from key figures in the Boston scene (Dave Smalley, Jonathan Anastas, and Mike Gitter)!

TALLY HO CHAPS, AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER ROUSING EPISODE OF YE OLDE CINEPUNX! On this thrilling installment we sat down with the true God, Josh Goldbloom, founder of The Awesome Fest, Bruce Campbell Horror Film Fest, programmer extraordinaire, and dude we know from HXC shows from back in the day. We discussed   THE DEVILS   CRIMES OF PASSION   LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM Josh was an awesome guest and a great sport as me and Josh A were in chatty, wildin out form, but he really put up with us and we had a great discussion   As stated earlier our episode focus was the works of Ken Russell, specifically through three films. We talk to some extent about why these movies and why now, but mostly this topic happened kind of randomly. Before that we get into our usual Wack and On Track gimmick. There is a lot that gets discussed that I should link to, cause shit is sick, but I am lazy so I will just post this gem.   If you don’t know now you know! Josh is really great, a real friend, and an amazing programmer and event planner. Check out some of his past work at The Awesome Fest and Bruce Campbell Horror Film Fest I know, my show notes are not nearly the immersive tour de force of our sister show HORROR BUSINESS where Justin Lore really makes them fun and funny and engaging, but you know what, I edited the show so this is what you get. Josh has a bunch of stuff coming up that is not announced yet, so we will add that stuff to the notes for this episode. So you know, check back and shit.   Thanks to everyone involved with keeping CINEPUNX awesome, most especially all of our PATREON subscribers This episode was brought to you by LEHIGH VALLEY APPAREL CREATIONS. Cory Brandan is the front man of renown metal & hardcore stalwarts, Norma Jean. Norma Jean's storied history began in the southern U.S. in the late 90's and quickly cemented their place in christian HXC circuits. Overtime, founding members have exited band but Cory (who joined in 2004) has remained unwavering, helping the band evolve into a multilayered collective with intricate songwriting and melodies. We talk about his growing up in a rich Arkansas music scene, the legacy of the Almighty Norma Jean, and the dark vibes he tapped in to when writing their recent album, Polar Similar, out now via Solid State Records. England's Dinosaur Pile Up are breaking out and commanding audiences everywhere they go with their stripped down, straight forward rock. DPU are road vets who through tireless touring across Europe and America playing arenas alongside some heavy hitters, have begun to see their fan base steadily growing. I talk with Matt, Mike, and Jim about their 90's influences, life on the road, upcoming festival runs, favorite American television shows, their recent album 11:11, and more.

I use my phone sometimes and I have had other computers in the past and don't port over my plays, so this is a reasonable approximation of the tracks from the past year, but won't line up with Last.fm exactly.I did a similar thing on the main show, where there are no genre limitations (and a different list of previously played tunes)"Punknews is Stoked" by O Pioneers! (orgcore) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"Politic It's Shit" by Femau (trashcore) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"Hell Is Other People" by Imperial Leather (hardcore) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website "Workout Pt. 2" by Indiana Jones (hardcore) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"Madonna is a Corporate Whore" by Louis Lingg and The Bombs (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"Built to Fail, Motherfucker" by The Arrogant Sons of Bitches (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website "Whatever Song" by Eat Well Earl (instrumental punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"Strings and Webs" by Wages of Fear (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website

It's been way too long, so I thought we should have a quickie. Er... Well, you know what I mean, right?I probably wouldn't be sharing this particular track except that it comes from an album entitled "Experiments in Punk Pedagogy / Live at The New School" and I thought it might engender some discussion. So, is it punk?"Suicide" by Dreamweapon (other) - CC BY-NC-SA - WebsitePS: This is a subscriber exclusive. Since it's just a single track and the track is already on archive.org, I didn't bother iterating on archive.org. Rare release, just for you. ;)

This show is dedicated to Morten "Fucking-Long-Name".mp3 audio | ogg audio | flac audioFor this show I decided to go first through my Top 500 All-Time Last.fm tracks and pick the first 6 punk tracks I haven't played on the show that are remixable.116. "Class War" by Gråsuggorna (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website130. "75" by De Fuckups (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website*305. "On The Run" by Gråsuggorna (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website342. "You and Me" by Shearer (orgcore) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website*Actually, I could have played more De Fuckups, but I didn't want them to take over the show.  I didn't have enough in my Top 500 (without playing more De Fuckups), so this last two are from the Last Year list. Yes, these are both from the same band, so why discriminate against De Fuckups? I don't know. I guess I've just listened to them too much and am a bit tired of them at the moment. Also, their website appears to be down at the moment.13. "Conspiracy" by Louis Lingg and the Bombs (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website13. "Zapatista" by Louis Lingg and the Bombs (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website

Technically speaking, the re-post of Louis Lingg and The Bombs was the 7th show...I just failed to make it 007. What a huge fail. I hope so sweet tunes will make it up to you, even if it is just a repeat of my tracks from the latest Music Manumit show.ogg audio | mp3 audio(I figured I should get with the program now that I know what I'm doing a bit more in Audacity)"Love and Hate Tragedy" by Pete Vyler (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"Backstreet Emperor" by Pete Vyler (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"My Kind" by Pete Vyler (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"I Don't Care about You" by Pete Vyler (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"All Around the World" by Pete Vyler (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website"Failure (Acoustic live) - Bonus Track" by Pete Vyler (punk) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website

I couldn't be bothered to put together an intro. Law school is time-consuming. I let two months slip by and I just wanted to get some music out the door. You'll notice I didn't worry about the licensees being -NC or not, so no flattr button this time. I hope to do a couple more October shows to check up and maybe I'll go libre at that point. I also didn't worry about finding band websites (except for The Spunk Lads since I have that queued up for the main show already). You should be able to find the band websites from the song titles and band names. I hope not to be such a slacker in the future! If you have trouble finding them, let me know and I'll try to help.If the enclosure doesn't work for some reason, you can download the file courtesy of the good folks at archive.org."Spunk Lads FC" by The Spunk Lads (punk) - BY-NC-SA - WebsiteNote: the version on the website is not the version we are playing. I cut the version on the show since the track on the website is actually two songs."I Hate You Baby" by Jonny Chan and the New Dynasty 6 - CC BY-NC-SA"Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" by Kingface - CC BY-NC-SA"Sheena" by Sidekick Lupchen & The Bad Generation - CC BY-NC-SADedication to my "lawyering" ;) (and the next song)"Fight Song" by Cletus Got Shot (bluegrass or "folk punk") - CC BY-NC-SA

It's a 2 for 1 deal today! Due to my slackness the June and July podcasts have come out today. I know it's poor podcasting form to release two in one day, but I'm a believer in the "release early and release often" philosophy. On the thought of releasing early and releasing often, I have found myself spending more time on the intros than I thought I would but I think that's because it's just me rather than a discussion with Tom. Things are so new and in flux that I have a lot to say as well. Eventually I hope to say "this is the Music Manumit Punkcast" and be done with it!Anyway, this show is a rerun of the Music Manumit Podcast interview with Australian singer/songwriter Isaac Graham. We discuss his punk roots, folk punk, his affiliation with Copyleft Record and more!Per usual, I'm releasing only in the open format ogg. You can download it from the amazing archive.org. If you have an Android phone, this file will work. Many browsers also have ogg support built in. As for media players, Songbird on Windows/Mac will play ogg files. If you want an mp3 version, let me know - just don't tell me you want it for an iPhone because I might not do it. I can get away with being a dick about it because this is punk rock baby!!

Eventually this will be a monthly punk*-only show of remixable Creative Commons music, brought to you my Doug of the Music Manumit Podcast.  Many of the tracks will have been played on previous Music Manumit shows, but eventually I'll run out of punk songs from that show.Download ogg* (let me know if you want an mp3 version.  I can make that happen, it'll just take more of my time. :) )"Uppkomlingen" - by Gråsuggorna - (punk) - CC-BY-NC-SA - Website"Punkpolice" - by Predator - (punk) - BY-SA-NC - Website"frustrator" - by NO SE (punk) - BY-SA-NC - Website"Punk Chicks" - by The A.G's (pop punk) - CC-BY - Website There's not likely to be a lot of pop punk on the show, but I like to reward groups that don't use the -NC.  Also, this is a song *about* punk, so I feel it's relevant."Glass" by The Smashing Pumpkins (punk...just listen to it) off MACHINA II (an "unreleased album") - CC BY-NC-SA - WebsiteIf you have a better genre for this than punk, I'd be curious as to what people think of it."Something's Wrong" by Loudog (skacore) - CC BY-NC-SA - Website*punk, skacore, hardcore and the punkier post-hardcore.  There will be very little, if any of what most people think of "post-punk".  There will also be very little, if any of what is commonly known as "Emo-core" or "Screamo" (old-school or 'real screamo' may be a possibility)
