After some hurt feelings and a broken television, the pub gets together after 5 hours to talk about the second game from Tokyo RPG Factory, Lost Sphear.
Yharnam, the final frontier. These are the voyages of deluded hunters — tonight's mission: To explore the aberrant city from within the dream and beneath the moon. To wipe away the stain of twisted ghouls and civilizations born of blood and cosmic horror. To boldly survive what none have survived before.Discussed: Nobody Saves the World, Bloodborne: The Board Game, Chrono Trigger, Lost Sphear, I am Setsuna---Find us everywhere: https://intothecast.onlineJoin the Discord: https://theworstgarbage.onlineFollow Stephen Hilger: https://twitter.com/StephenHilgerFollow Brendon Bigley: https://twitter.com/brendonbigley---Produced by AJ Fillari: https://twitter.com/ajfillariSeason 4 Cover Art by Scout Wilkinson: https://scoutwilkinson.myportfolio.com/---Join the Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/intothecastThanks to all of our amazing patrons! | Markus W | AggressiveToast | Liam R | Pippin N | Matt M | Minh N | jorgamund | Butterfly Bandit | Naman B | Gabe O | Josh H | Bellspr00ut | Kite | Doug | Lasse B | Retromation | John Thomas F | Juanda | Adam L | Geocracy | George L | b0rt | Elen R | David D | Casey D-VA | Zach B | Alex L | Connor C | Jeff N | Baker S | Daniel M | Adam S | Sergio L | Kyle S | ninjadeathdog | Sous Chef Russell | Greg | Zachary G | Adnan S | Celia S | Chris P | Lukerfuffle | David O | Kelly | Rory B | Adam V | JTH | David M | Varsha S | Stumpy J | Verlinp | Matthew W | Andy S | evie | A42PoundMoose | Sam T | Maxwell H | Robert M | Jonah K | Morgan M | Robb S | Owen P | Samuel H | Michael W | Andrew S | Tom | Mitchell J | Justin M | Will L | InterJustin | Evan H | Sam B | Robert O | Xavier K | Charlie E | Theresa N | Jamal M | Korey | Thomas W | Monte J | Liam M | Nick S | Jellums | Peter R | Jennifer S | Will H | Derek H | Brian D | Augusto D | Ethan K | Michael O | Brandon B | Peter H | Matt S | Albatross Soup | Noah H G | Christiaan S | Nick P | Ryan O | CosmicBluesMinis | Derek N | Megan T | Josiah R | Austin B | Kaija R | Khaleel G | Rowan | Sam S | Hunter F | Togame1 | JT | John H | Makenzie B | James O | SalivationArmy | Bishop_Tacos | Alex L | Dakota K | Ryan H | Blake M | Wanda S. | Scott T | Rachel L | Ian B | Onatah | Samuel H | Myles H | Wiley K | Moonstone5tella | garretsr | Eric D | Latte709 | Phillip F | Charles S | The WolfeKnight | Patrick M | Michael N | Brigitte L | Lee R | James Y | Reuben J | John C | Anisa | Maurice | Nick M | Trey L | Sam N | Madeleine | Randal S | Matthew M | leigha | Michael N | Connor | Garrett P | Justin W | Brendan K | Michaela | Adam G | Sebastian P | Júlía H | Marc | Christopher S | Alanna O | Scott R | Jackson F | Megan B | Erika Y | Christopher D | Matt D | Sebastian E | Liam B | Meredith | wreck | Daniel C | Coop | Brian M | Richie | Alexander M | Andrew K | Roc B | Alex G | Dan O | Laura W | Roberto S | Leo C | Wishbone | saddlebread | Roberge | Ian A | Max M | Michael V | Kyle R | Selina A | Noah O | Rich E | Michael G | Arcturus | Raihan S | Matthew M | Rowan S | Chris R | leastest | Kyle L | Anthony G | Adam | The Binding of Andrew | Hepahe | Jake L | Conor P | Cory F | Luke L | Matt C | Cian | John J P | GJ C | Mr Mallard | Sarah G | Vanessa J | Jack F | Kelsey J | Chase A | Elyse H | Anna | Nick Q | Tom H | Wes K | Erica S | Maria D | Chris M | RB | Jared B | Toots M | Aaron D | David C | Karen H | Walter N B | Kristin T | Joseph P | Tom W | Chad W | Chy J-B | Michaela W | Ryan W | Adam F | Scott H | Denys T | Lauren H | Andrew M | Alexander St. P | Griffin F | Ben G | killian | Therese K | Matthew V | Nick C | Zach A | SpagooliDude | Andrew L | Justin H | Alyssa R | jgprinters | Rob K | Justin C | Jess B | Matt H | bsushi | sebsab | Lilie G | Ian L | Chris | Pat M | markh | Craig | Matt F | Sebastian V N | Joeri B | Maryanne D | SkinTightAlloy | Dennis C | Eliot O B | Shelly B | William L | Brendon T | Robert S | Murray | Trevor B | salutepeezy | Andrew D | David P | Alex M | Catherine O | Josh G | noname | Jason | Bede R | Mark O | Jeff C | Brett S | Inês G. | Kim M | Kamrin H | Minh T | Andrew D | Marxelle | Akira | Christopher B | Melimuffinpie | bolt | Scout W | Philip N★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

We are joined by blogger of the year Dia Lacina who was willing to go down with the ship as we break format for a trio of games that we only knew of probably bad games nobody actually played. That's right, we took all our RPG expertise and applied it to the strange trilogy of Tokyo RPG Factory games! Em froze their ass off in I am Setsuna, Dia remembered she could be doing anything else in Lost Sphear, and Jackson went hya hya hya about a million times in Oninaki. Maybe the games are bad, but the conversation was a fruitful exploration of what it is that makes the JRPG form work for us at all.Send us questions about our game clubs, other games, or gaming in general to abnormalmappingpodcast@gmail.com!If you would like to support us please visit patreon.com/abnormalmapping for exclusive podcasts, writing, and even opportunities to be on an episode as a guest! We're joined by Dan to once again talk about the strange tangent of the Metroid universe as we continue to mine the Phazon arc to gain an appreciation for how you follow up one of the boldest games ever made. Turns out, that's really hard! Join us for a discussion of light and dark worlds, not even lazily caring about your plot, and the nightmare that is making ‘hard' bosses. A jam packed episode! Chrono Trigger. You only need to say the name for the bellies of gamers to warm with nostalgia. It’s keystone experience for many of us, and plenty of games have gone on to cite it as an inspiration. SquareEnix itself has even taken a stab at creating games like I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear, which took elements of Chrono Trigger and attempted to update them for modern gamers. Oftentimes, the result is decidedly mixed. But if there is one game that could succeed, it could be Sea of Stars. The game hails from the Quebec-based Sabotage Studio, which created the acclaimed The Messenger. That game was a retro ninja platformer reminiscent of Ninja Gaiden, so you wouldn’t expect their next big game to be a turn-based RPG. But with Sea of Stars, that’s exactly what we’re getting. I had a chance to speak with Thierry Boulanger, the creative director and president of Sabotage Studio, where we discussed the origin of the game, its gameplay mechanics, its base story, and its inspirations.

A week before Gamescom 2019 and Richard and Cesar are ready for the pre-show build up. July NPD figures are out, Super Nintendo games on Switch evidence builds, and Ninja's vacated Twitch channel has streamed.... some interesting content since his departure. Sony is unleashing more PS4 controller varieties, and Halo Infinite's creative director has left the project. In Games Played, Cesar wraps up surprise hit Lost Sphear and he compares it favorably to original PlayStation RPG's and the flood of nostalgia it brought on. He starts the first chapter of the death defying visual novel Fatal Twelve on PS4, and hooks up the old faithful PS3 for a Prince of Persia play-through, beginning with The Sands of Time. He and Richard begin the co-op recommended Wolfenstein: Youngblood on PS4. Richard continues his 480i CRT infused Wii kick, and picks up Super Mario Galaxy again. He enjoys the comedic brilliance of Wario Land: Shake It, and gets wrecked in the somehow-still-online Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Reflex Edition. We are now on major podcast streaming services!! Michael is back in space, and he joins Cesar and Richard for discussing all things gaming. DuckTales Remastered has been digitally delisted, the new Switch models might have improved screens, and there is a final, complete list of TurboGrafx 16 mini titles. August's Nintendo Switch Online games are announced, alongside two new Sega Ages games. Walmart denies pulling violent games off store shelves, the console makers have united against loot boxes, and Microsoft bets big on Gears 5 special edition hardware. In Games Played, Michael Roadie Runs through Gears of War 4 in preparation of the new iteration in the series, compares King Kong video game adaptations, brawls the streets in Friends of Ringo Ishikawa and tries once again to get into Final Fantasy XII. Richard has made progress in that same remastered RPG, and admires its character building, world, music score and story. Cesar has updates on some of his service titles including two Marvel Ultimate Alliance games, and gives his updated thoughts on Lost Sphear for PS4. He also wraps up EVO 2019 news at the end of the show. We are now on major podcast streaming services!! Another wild NOFODcast recorded in our secret backup lair. Richard, Cesar and Michael discuss News, their current Games Played, and most importantly, rank the Gears of War games. In News, EA outlines their reasoning for the lack of Nintendo Switch ports, Sony passes a key PS4 sales milestone and Fortnite master Ninja has a new streaming platform partnership. A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer showcase highlights upcoming game modes, SNK teases new hardware and the ChinaJoy conference brings us lots of announcements, including a Chinese-exclusive Rabbids title. Finally, the guys discuss August's "free" offerings from the PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live subscriptions. In Games Played, Michael wraps up Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and Sony's exclusive detective-sim Judgement. He has early impressions of Wolfenstein: Youngblood, and advises on the definitive way to play Doom 3. Richard continues the Star Wars-esque plot of Final Fantasy XII, and hooks up the original Wii console for some Super Mario Galaxy. He and Cesar have played Cesar's imported copy of GOTY candidate Tokyo Olympic Games 2020, and give an overview of it's CD Projekt Red inspired character creator. Cesar provides updates on his ongoing games, and a glimpse into Tokyo RPG Factory's Lost Sphear. We are now on major podcast streaming services!! Feeling left out of the hype surrounding the launch of Kingdom Hearts III, Michael requests a quick and simple summary of what he’s been missing out on. We discuss Kingdom Hearts I & II at length, the series’ timeline, and argue about the best game order for newcomers to the series. We also talk briefly about: Kingdom Hearts III, Transistor, Pyre, Immortal: Unchained, The Surge, Hollow Knight, Slay the Spire, LOST SPHEAR, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Deep Rock Galactic, Minit, and Dark Souls: Remastered.
Endlich gibt es die Folge nach der Sommerpause 2018. Die Zeit haben wir genutzt und ein JRPG der alten Schule in Neu zu spielen. Streit gibt es leider nicht ganz so viel. Spoiler ab: 1:05:50

What is this Path of Fire? Join us for a listen through a soundtrack that one unnamed soundtrack reviewer has termed "bland and generic." 2:29:24 - Afsluiting Muziek: - Blaster Master (NES) - Gremlins 2 (NES) - Batman (NES)
