The Grave Talks | Haunted, Paranormal & Supernatural

A message from the family of Chris Sutton: Dearest Friends,  The family of Coyote Chris wishes to let you know he has passed to begin his new journey spreading light into the darkness in another realm. He received an unexpected diagnosis of lung cancer less than a month ago that was very aggressive. He lived his life to the fullest. We know many wish they would have been able to visit or speak with him but know he will hear your words still. Take all lessons he taught, grow, share, and walk in the path of light.  Love,  Mrs. Coyote and Pups This is a conversation we had with Chris a year ago on The Grave Talks.  Chris Sutton grew up in a very practical “normal” thinking house. The idea of acceptance of spirits or ghosts was viewed as nonsense. Later in life, Chris would find himself in a deep depression as a result of his career and being surrounded by constant negativity. He would find a path out of depression through therapy and adopting shamanic traditions as part of his life.  On this journey, Chris would find himself being asked to intervene on paranormal investigations, helping to bring peace to families being tormented by spirits. When Chris goes head to head with something dark that was not human, how does he deal with it?  Can “peace” be made between any ghost and the living, or can a spirit deny the request?  When it comes to “ghosts” or “spirits”, are they always the echo of the dead?  When a grave is disturbed? Is it the spirit of those who were buried there that return or is it something else?  Can the living change the attitude of a negative spirit?  What simple things can a person do if they believe they are being haunted to find peace with the spirit world?

The Cuomo brothers were confident that their natural charm and affability could sway any crowd, and it was with this confidence that they chose to perform before one stunned silent. “15 Counts?” asked Chris Cuomo, “I mean come on this Jabroni can't even count that high!” “Oh that high, huh?” Replied Andrew Cuomo, who thumb-pointed toward his brother. “He's gotta be high if he thinks he's smarter than me!” “That's what separates you and me big bro, I think!” Chris tapped his head for emphasis.“Therefore I am, betta' than you!” “Why You—!” said Andrew and before a shocked crowd, put his brother in a headlock and started to give him an affectionate noogie. He stared up at the crowd then, mouth agape in a panting smile that asked, get a load of us huh? With his head still under his brother's armpit, Chris addressed the crowd. “And what's all this about assault? Look at this mook, he can't a-salt anything, not even his own gravy!” “Oh!” Andrew said and dropped the headlock. He took a few steps back and thrust his hands into the air, kept them spaced apart like a football goal post. “You're gonna hurt an Italian's pride talking like that, what's a matter ‘witchu? Ma might be out there!” “Yeah, out there's right!” Replied Chris, “Like when I'm at his house and he starts cooking, I'm out there!” “C'mon wiseguy!” Said Andrew and he put his fists up and pumped them in a way that evoked the image of the fighting Irish. “Come on old man!” said Chris, and they both put up their fighting Irish stances, really committing themselves to the act. Bobbing and weaving, and placing fake jabs. They went on like this for several moments before Chris went in for what seemed to be a real punch to Andrew's face but at the last minute, the fist slowed and converted to a closed hand with two fingers sticking out, pointer and middle extended like a pair of scissors. Which Chris used to poke each of Andrew's eyes simultaneously. Had the demonstration been a cartoon, the poke would have no doubt been accompanied by a doink! Sound. “Yowch!” cried Andrew who stumbled back theatrically, temporarily blinded. Unrelenting in his assault, however, his brother Chris finished the act by yanking Andrew's pants down to his ankles —red heart boxers exposed to every silent soul in the crowd. Andrew made a yelp at this and pulled his pants back up. His sight returned to him a few seconds later and with full visual clarity restored, he returned the favor by poking his smug-faced brother's eyes and pulling his pants down in much the same manner. When Chris finally recovered his sight and pants and all, he returned the favor to his brother who in turn re-visited the assault on him, and so on and so forth for several, long, excruciating moments. And during this all, not a soul beyond those two made a sound. The ordeal would have lasted much longer had the duo not been interrupted by three sharp cracks from a Judge's gavel. “ENOUGH” commanded the stern-looking judge. “Gentlemen return to your seats, or I will have each of you on contempt!” The brothers returned to their seats, heads low. The judge then motioned for the clerk of the court to repeat herself, free now of any future interruptions on the threat of being held in contempt. “Thank you, your honor,” Said the clerk and she cleared her throat before continuing. “The ladies and gentleman of the Jury find, Andrew Cuomo guilty on all 15 counts of sexual assault and sexual misconduct—” Topics discussed on today's episode include: Eviction Wave, eBay Pinkertons, The Luv Guv, Pod Save The Internet, Slashing Pandemic Plan, and More! Today, I am joined by digital marketing icon Chris Brogan. Chris is a New York Times best-selling author of nine books, including Trust Agents. He's also the host of The Backpack Show and CEO of Owner Media Group, which sells online training and skill upgrades in the form of webinars and courses.    Chris has spoken for or consulted with companies such as Disney, Google, GM, Sony, Coke, and Microsoft. He's part of Tony Robbins' internet Money Master series, and StatSocial ranked Chris as the number three power influencer. Forbes listed Chris as one of the Must Follow Marketing Minds, and his website is one of the 100 best websites for entrepreneurs.    In today's episode, we're going to discuss how Chris has leveraged the waves of tectonic shifts to achieve success.   Learning to Ride the Wave   Chris Brogan wasn't born a successful entrepreneur. He worked at a telecom company and when he saw opportunities, he seized them. He rode the wave of those opportunities to become who he is today.   During the time Chris worked at a telecom company, he constantly read about the business world, learning about unique ideas that weren't really being applied. This created the desire to start his own business so he could implement the great ideas he was reading about.    He eventually launched his own blog, but nobody really cared. It took him years just to get his first 100 readers. A few years later, he started his own podcast, but again, nobody really cared. So, he decided to start an event with a friend.    On the second day of the event, he met Jeff Pulver, a millionaire, who had just run a conference on video on the internet. Jeff offered to take Chris out and suggested they run a conference together. After that, he immediately started working with major brands with Jeff, and jumped into another company about a year later since, at that time, they were just a bit too early for the video trend.    Chris eventually started running part of a consultancy where he worked with things like digital and new social media platforms such as Twitter and rode the wave from there. In time, people started asking questions about how the new media applied to their business, and that's how Chris started working with big companies such as Google and Microsoft.    “It was all the same kinds of questions like, ‘What do we do with this stuff? Is Twitter worth it?'” Chris said. “I was able to show [them] where there might be a little bit of magic.”   In 2009, Chris started the first company that he ran 100% himself. Since then, he has run five or six different iterations of a corporation.    Part of being a successful entrepreneur is about timing and riding those waves of opportunity. When Chris started his own blog and podcast, it wasn't immediately successful because the timing wasn't right. The blog and podcast tectonic shifts hadn't happened yet. Now, blogs and podcasts are extremely important and essential, but it wasn't the same way 20 years ago.    “I was early on a bunch of those waves,” Chris said. “[But beyond] being early to the pile, what I've been so willing to do over and over and over again is fail, be wrong, look stupid. And I get there faster because of it.”   Chris's blog failed. His podcast failed. He left his work with Jeff on internet video after a year because the wave wasn't quite there yet. But every time, he didn't let failure stop him. He got back up and looked for the next opportunity, and jumped back into opportunities when the time was right.   “I got to everything faster than a lot of other people just by being willing to fail in front of everybody and be willing to try new ways. I think that's what separates me from all the people who came up in my spaces. They were still trying really hard to preserve their reputation. And I built my reputation around falling right down a hole in front of you, and just showing you what comes next,” Chris explained.    He made his career by riding the waves to shore as tectonic shifts happened. Below are three current tectonic shifts Chris has successfully adapted to.    Being Human   Being human and more personalized in our businesses is crucial to success. This is especially important now as the pandemic has increased the need for human connection.    “The minute someone feels like you're not there to help them when they're having a rough time, that's a problem. So make your support system a lot more human and connectable. Second off, as you're selling anything, beyond just features and benefits, make it easy to reach a person. Make it easy to be able to ask those questions you might have,” Chris explained.    When I asked Chris about one thing he is passionate about, he said it is helping companies no matter what size. We have to ask ourselves, “How can we be more human even at a distance? How do we bring a bit more humanity into what we do?”   Our businesses need to be about connecting with people. Companies have such a great opportunity to reach out and be human, but we blow it so many times because we're too focused on making a profit. The minute someone feels like we aren't there to help them, they are going to leave. To be successful, we really need to make our support a lot more human.    Influencer Marketing   One of the biggest tectonic shifts that the business world is dealing with today is credibility marketing. It used to be 20 years ago that businesses would buy a whole bunch of advertising, and then use that reach to tell the world how awesome they were. And it often worked. To a great extent it worked. But today, if businesses do that, it doesn't work so well. People don't trust what businesses say about themselves anymore. This means businesses have to find much more credible ways to communicate with their potential customers.   This is why credibility marketing has become such an important tectonic shift today. Businesses are shifting more and more to credibility marketing in many different ways, such as through influencer marketing, reviews marketing, word-of-mouth marketing, and client testimonial videos.    When implementing influencer marketing, the first thing we need to do is find the right influencer to work with.    As I mentioned earlier, StatSocial ranked Chris as the number three power influencer. But this doesn't mean he's the right influencer for everybody. Chris shared a story in which a company asked him to promote a paper shredder. So, he made a video for them. He didn't have any paper in his house, so he shredded the manual and said, “I don't know what else I should show you because it just ate the manual.” The humor was good for him, but the company never sent him another paper shredder. And why? Because Chris wasn't the right, credible person to promote their product.    Just because someone has a massive following, doesn't mean they're the right person to talk about our product. We need to find someone whose following is largely our target audience. We also need to find an influencer who likes and uses our product, and who is credible to talk about the product.    “If you're going to look for influencers, it will be so much better if we do it the other way around. Who's talking lovingly about my product?” Chris said.    As we search for the right influencer for us, we can search for people who already use our product. That way they will be much more credible to our audience.    A good example of this is when Chris reached out to Johnsonville Sausage. During the summer, he had started to talk about their sausage in his videos just because he loved it so much. He ended up reaching out to the company and doing a sponsored video for them. This video actually mattered since he was able to influence his audience.    The Age of Distraction    We live in an age of distraction. There are thousands of different good things constantly competing for the time and attention of our potential customers. Our phones get notifications throughout the day from so many different people. We get so many text messages, email notifications, app reminders, updates, etc. we could live in our little notification bar on our phones.    “If the notification screen is the battlefield, and if all of a sudden every single website is like, ‘Please can we send you notifications?' . . . how is a lowly old email going to get into somebody?” Chris said. These are the questions we have to be asking ourselves and trying to answer.   We need to pay attention to the market and where our specific audience is going. “In a world where we're not willing to sit still for an ad, you've got to put some really interesting information in front of us, for us to sit still enough to want to consume it,” Chris said.    It is a competition for every second of our consumer's attention. We need to make sure we are creative and cut directly to the chase. We need to show consumers how we can help them achieve the things that matter most to them.    “Instead of attention and distraction being the big challenge, it's more, “Can I find the person that I hope to serve in some way?' And that's what we do. That's the goal. If you're going to try to be influential in some way, that's how you're going to learn,” Chris said.    Key Takeaways   Thank you so much Chris for sharing your stories and knowledge with us today. Here are some of my key takeaways from this episode:   We need to ride the “waves” of tectonic shifts. We need to be more human and personalized in our businesses. People don't trust what businesses say about themselves anymore. This means we have to find much more credible sources, such as influencers, to promote our products. Just because someone has a massive following, doesn't mean they're the right person to talk about our product. We need to find an influencer whose following is our target audience.  We live in an age of distraction. We have to constantly fight for the time of our customers. In order to capture their attention, we need to show them what value we offer as fast as possible.    Connect with Chris   If you enjoyed this interview and want to learn more about Chris, connect with him on his LinkedIn, or his website, chrisbrogan.com. When Chris lost his job in 2008, he had to come home and tell me not only that news, but that our finances weren’t in order and we were going to lose everything. It’s one of those moments that scars you — you never forget it. We’re going to relive one of the hardest moments of our lives because we think there’s value to be had in that moment. It’s less about breaking the news itself and more about assessing where you’re at and deciding what to do with the information you find. Here’s what happened next for us: Chris came home and told me that we would have to sell our brand new house, our cars, everything, and move into a small apartment. And I responded with two things. First, I said “Then that’s what we have to do.” And second, I said “This will never happen to us again.” It was then that we decided to enter the knowledge industry. I started teaching online courses with the goal of finding just one hundred women to join me monthly. When that took off, I realized the one thing all these women had in common was that they needed support, so I created The Bliss Project. That led to The Bliss Habit, a way to take that same idea to the people who couldn’t make it to the event. No matter where you are in your journey, it’s not too late to take control of your future.

Sometimes the hardest part of getting through your journey is finding a way to move past those beliefs. We are going to share three limiting beliefs each that we’ve had to go through in order to be where we are today.   Lori: Anxiety and panic attacks. Every time she would get in front of people she would feel like she couldn’t breathe, starting as far back as 7th grade. Not understanding your worth. It can feel scary to charge what you should when providing a product or service without undercutting yourself. If you’re resentful for the time you’re putting in without compensation then something is out of alignment. Fear of sharing your story. It can be hard when you’re trying to be authentic but you know that sharing details about your life are going to have an impact on other people.   Chris: Fear of comparison. When Chris was preparing to launch For the Love of Money, he kept putting it off because he couldn’t stop comparing himself to other brands that were further along. You want to surround yourself with people who motivate you, but you have to be able to step through that fear and do it anyway. Fear of failure. Chris would set big sales goals but worry about the blowback that would come if he didn’t hit them. The irony is that he’s rarely hit the sales goal he set, but that didn’t mean they weren’t successful and still worth doing. Fear of change. This comes along when you are afraid of losing the good life you have in the pursuit of a great life. Strategy is everywhere. It’s easy to find. But what’s really holding most people back is their belief in their ability to do it. So take a look at the limiting beliefs that are holding you back and tell yourself “This isn’t true.” Only then can you move forward into your highest self.

Life gets busy when you have a new baby, so Chris Hutchins is on a quest to learn all the hacks, optimize his life, and share what he’s learned with you in his new podcast, All the Hacks. The goal of the podcast is to help listeners upgrade their lives by living more exciting, fulfilling lives without spending a lot more money and optimizing it all along the way. Life hacks tend to fall into one of three camps. It clicks with and becomes second nature, you find a way to automate it so you don’t even have to think about it, or it’s too much work and you never do it again. If you can find where optimization and excitement intersect, it’s a huge win for you and your family. When Chris thinks about life hacks, he thinks about different aspects of his life and what the important parts are, such as family, work, finances, shopping, travel, and self. Categories may also be broken down into multiple subcategories. Jonathan says the idea of life hacks and living his life in a slightly more optimized way is what led him to financial independence which he says is the ultimate life hack as it helps us reclaim our most precious non-renewable resource, our time. Coming out of a year of lockdown, it seems like everyone is planning to travel somewhere. Chris recommends using Google Flights to get quick insight into flight prices with flexibility on airports and dates. For hotel planning, Chris says it’s often a choice between a better price or a better experience. Trip Advisor recently launched Trip Advisor Plus, a paid membership service that allows them to offer hotel rates around 7-8% off because the rates are not available to the general public. However, booking directly with the hotel will likely get you a better experience. In addition to booking directly, reaching out to someone on the sales team or the general manager will often get you an upgrade or some sort of amenity. You may be able to find the names of individuals by seeing who is responding to reviews on Trip Advisor. Having status with the hotel can help as well. A family life hack Jonathan and his wife began doing is creating a shared family photo library and build a slideshow of their favorites from the year. Brad believes another life hack is just being a good person and making personal connections because it makes others want to go to bat for you. A lot of customer service reps have the discretion to do things for you that they wouldn’t if you get angry with them. Website account hacks are becoming more commonplace and passwords are frequently stolen so using the same password for everything can be trouble. Check to see if your account has been part of a data breach at Haveibeenpwned. A password manager makes it easier to use unique passwords for all your accounts. Increasing security with two-factor authentication helps make your accounts even more secure. Chris has a fireproof box in his home where he keeps important documents and the one password he uses with his password manager 1Password. In the event of death or incapacitation, a legacy binder has all the information loved ones need to manage your affairs. As mentioned on the show previously, Brad uses ToDoist to track all his tasks. Chris says that you can’t use any software system like ToDoist for an hour and see the magic. Commit to it. When it comes to renting cars, Chris rents with Avis using a Costco discount. He says to make sure if you’re a member of something, you find out if they have deals for you. Autoslash and Turo are additional ways to possibly save money on rental cars. Chase and American Express credit cards have offers to save many when using their cards. Listener Jessica asked about life hacks for type A career women and mothers on the path to FI. Chris thinks there is power in being incredibly passionate about a company you want to work for. He also says you can negotiate your salary all of the time especially if you present data that you are being underpaid. Before having their baby. Chris was able to find almost half of the items on their baby register in the second-hand marketplace, which allowed them to have everything they wanted and not skimp out on their savings rate. Similarly, Brad’s wife Laura is able to plan ahead for the future and buy seasonal clothing for their daughters at tremendous discounts. Another life hack, meal planning, is something that Chris and his wife just purchased for introducing their baby to solid foods. He says there is a bare minimum of what your time is worth. While they could have done it for free, buying the meal plan freed up a lot of their time making the cost worth it. Jonathan says for baby clothes, his wife was able to make out like a bandit using local buy nothing groups. Plus, she has been able to arrange a neighbor exchange to keep kids in clothing as they grow. And within their home, they rotate toys to keep them interesting. Another resource Jonathan has for Jessica is Dour and Carol’s book, Raising Your Money-Savvy Family, while Chris recommends moms’ groups, who share information and recommendations with each other Chris says meal planning is his biggest hack when it comes to cooking. He uses Paprika to save recipes, meal plan, and grocery shop. Steven Boyer from CampFI recommends if you cook something often, keep all of the items you use physically together. Brad used a little hack like that to remove the pain points he was experiencing make his morning smoothie prep go more smoothly. Holly says if you have a separate freezer, you can buy meat in bulk when they are on sale and then have them whenever you need them. Although Jonathan and his wife tried once a month meal prep, they have moved to cooking two to three meals a week and eating leftovers. Chris says he intentionally scales his meal sin Paprika up so that they have leftovers. Brad likes to reduce the paradox of choice by eating the exact same meal every day for breakfast and needs a system for lunch. To reduce her paradox of choice and frustration, Leslie created a capsule wardrobe for her closet by pretending she was packing for a three-week trip. Chris has been culling his wardrobe by separating the clothing he has worn and washed from what stays in his drawers. The things that have remained in the drawers he can get rid of. Karen’s daughter hates the idea of college and has an entrepreneurial mindset. Chris says there are so many opportunities to learn these days but the hardest thing is to tangibly identify something you can do. Get experience. Starting something doesn’t mean it has to be your full-time job. You can explore the entrepreneurial side while doing something else. Learning new skills is valuable. Try a bunch and see what lights you up. You don’t need to go to college anymore to earn an above-median income which is something he discusses in the Talent Stacker podcast. Jonathan and Bradley Rice built a job placement program around Salesforce which might be something Karen’s daughter would be interested in. Chris says automation is magical and one of the things that drew him to work at Wealthfront was financial automation where he works on automation that directs your money where you want it to go automatically. When Chris was diagnosed with ALS, Kelsie and Chris' biggest concern was for the littlest people in their family. At the time, Cohen and Willa were just 7 and 4, respectively, and people often told Kelsie that the kids would be all right. But how do we make sure of that? How do we help our kids navigate their own grief and loss -- whether it  be a loved one's illness or death or the  depression, anxiety, stress and loneliness that's surfaced for so many during the Covid-19 pandemic? And how do we help them with those heavy emotions when we are struggling with them ourselves? In this episode, psychologist Cara Lizzi joins Kelsie to talk about what we can do to make sure that, in the end, the kids are, indeed, all right.

He also shares stories about his first day on set and his audition where he got a rare pat on the back from David Chase.      Then Chris Caldovino joins the podcast. Each month with no change to Chris' health made the notion that this experimental medicine could stop his ALS in its tracks seem like a real possibility.  And then, in April 2020, nine months after Chris joined the trial, that possibility crumbled with one photograph. The BiggerPockets podcast has quite a diverse group of guests that come on the show. We’ve had writers, speakers, businesspeople, and actors, but this may be the first rapper we’ve had with us. Chris Greenwood AKA Manafest is in the studio, and instead of recording beats, he’s recording the best lessons he’s learned through his music career, real estate investing, and online business. Chris started out like many of us, working a stable job for a large corporation. After years of doing music on the side while working his full time job, he decided to take the jump and make rapping and rocking his career. Chris is the first to admit that this may not have been the best financial decision, and staying on the job for a little while longer could have relieved him of a lot of headaches. That being said, Chris didn’t just survive, he actually thrived in the music scene. When Chris and his wife decided to move out of their condo to upgrade to a larger home, they brought up the idea of renting out the condo instead of selling. This opened Chris up to the world of real estate investing, and as he saw the checks start to come in, he realized that this was a money maker that could help bring in stable income, passively while he worked on his music. Now Chris owns various properties and mainly buys from turnkey companies. Brandon, David, and Chris all have their own opinions on turnkey real estate investing, but they all agree on one thing: for those that don’t have much time to be an active investor, it’s a great way to start or stack up rental properties. Aside from rentals and rapping, Chris developed his own online course to teach other musicians how to successfully market their music in an industry that has such a high barrier to entry. Chris talks through how he separated himself from all the other “course gurus” and how you too can serve as an authoritative figure in your own community with knowledge, experience, and perseverance.   Check the full show notes here: https://www.biggerpockets.com/show445

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Chris Irvin, a nutrition researcher, writer, and educator. He holds a master's degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science and is currently the education manager for Perfect Keto. During his time in grad school, Chris began to see the keto industry growing. Chris was in big support of this industry growth because he thinks a robust industry can support good research, but with so many companies coming on the scene just trying to make a buck, Chris became discouraged and kept his distance.   After spending a couple of years researching and developing content about keto, Chris decided to start looking more into the keto industry because he wanted to bring more research and education into the industry. Fortunately, Perfect Keto was looking for someone to improve research and education within their company, something they were already doing very well! Chris was already a big fan of Dr. Anthony Gustin and the quality products he was making at Perfect Keto, so it ended up making a great fit. Now Chris focuses on learning and educating the masses on the ketogenic diet through The Ketologist and Perfect Keto! In this episode, Chris Irvin opens the show speaking about his journey to the keto diet and eventually the carnivore diet. First, we talk about how ketosis can actually help you build muscle despite people thinking insulin is required for muscle growth. In fact, ketones can stimulate muscle growth. Later, we dive deep into the carnivore diet. Chris explains how he found the carnivore diet, why the carnivore diet is beneficial for our gut, and if the carnivore diet is sustainable long-term. Tune in as Keto Kamp members join the show to ask Chris questions about supplements and what to pay attention to when trying the carnivore diet. // E P I S O D E   S P ON S O R S  PureForm Omega Plant Based Oils (Best Alternative to Fish Oil): http://www.purelifescience.com Use ben4 for $4.00 off. ☕️ Purity Coffee: http//:www.ketokampcoffee.com, use ketokamp at checkout for 10% off [02:00] About Chris Irvin Chris found the keto diet at age 24. At grad school, he learned about the benefits of keto from a sports perspective. When Chris tried keto, he didn't feel that great. However, after a few days, Chris started to feel energized. During his research at grad school, Chris got to look at how keto would affect athletic performance. If you want to learn about the therapeutic effects of keto, Chris recommends reading Tripping over the Truth: https://www.amazon.com/Tripping-over-Truth-Overturning-Entrenched/dp/1603587292/benazadi-20 Chris became frustrated that all this research was available, but people didn’t have access to it. So, Chris decided to start making content to educate the masses on the ketogenic diet.   [16:45] How Ketosis Helps You Build Muscle People think carbohydrates and insulin are required for muscle growth. However, you don’t have to have them. There are other ways that you can stimulate muscle growth. Ketones are muscle-sparing. You don’t lose muscle with ketosis. Ketones can also stimulate muscle growth by activating muscle proteins. Getting enough protein will be essential for muscle growth, especially for men. Even for people who aren’t focused on gaining muscle, there should be a focus on retaining muscle. Chronic diseases will destroy our health through muscle loss – so increase your protein intake. [21:00] How Chris Got Into Carnivore Chris tried carnivore about two and a half years ago. At first, Chris didn’t think an all-meat diet would be beneficial for people. After trying carnivore, he loved the way that he felt. It also changed the way that he looks at nutrition because he now prioritizes quality meat. Chris found that the carnivore diet gives him more strength in the gym, improves his productivity, decreases his hunger, improves his body composition, and even increases his ketone levels. After seeing the stories and hearing so many people who get excellent benefits from a carnivore diet, Chris thinks people can decide if it's the right fit for them. [26:40] Getting Vitamins And Minerals Through The Carnivore Diet Surprisingly, there are loads of nutrients in red meat. People think that plants provide us with essential micronutrients, and cutting them out will lead to deficiencies. However, micronutrients in plants are poorly absorbed in humans. Ketones are able to provide the benefits that vitamin C does. Plus, your demand for vitamin C will be less when you’re in ketosis. You need lots of vitamins on the standard American diet; your body doesn’t need as many vitamins in a carnivore diet. [31:45] Repairing The Gut With Carnivore    Gut health will improve with the carnivore diet for two reasons: Plants contain compounds that are toxic, and they can wreak havoc on our bodies. Some people are sensitive to these plants from overconsumption. So, when we eliminate those plants, the gut can start to heal through carnivore. Meat will provide nutrients to help with the repair of your gut. It can repair the lining of your gut and the structure of your gut. Thus, reducing leaky gut syndrome. [38:20] Is The Carnivore Diet Sustainable?   The carnivore diet is sustainable for an extended period of time. There is no reason to think that this diet is going to be bad for us. If you’re talking about sustainability for enjoying the diet, then it depends on the person. For someone who likes to cook and needs more flavor, the carnivore diet can be a bit boring. People can benefit from the carnivore as a diet as a tool in their toolbelt. Use the diet in four to six-week blocks. You can join The Carnivore Reset Challenge: https://meatreset.com. [52:20] Supplements For The Carnivore Diet Electrolytes will be a necessity on the carnivore diet. Find a powder or a capsule electrolyte supplement. [56:00] Repairing The Gut After Antibiotics The longer you’ve been taking antibiotics, the more damage that has occurred in your gut. In most cases, there is a two-week minimum to try the carnivore diet to see how your digestion is responding. Impaired gut health will zap your energy and prevent you from feeling great. If you’re not feeling great on carnivore, then you need to stick with it longer. [59:20] Feeling Better On Carnivore There should be a noticeable change that your quality of life is better on the carnivore diet. When you’re healthy, you’ll feel better. Digestion should improve. You won’t feel bloated or nauseous after meals. More energy and more mental clarity will also be a sign that the carnivore diet is working. AND MUCH MORE! Jess and Margy are the co owners of Interview Connections, the first and leading podcast booking agency. This is the podcast where you will learn all about podcast guesting and how to leverage podcast interviews to grow your brand awareness. For the rest of December, we’re going to be showing you exactly how our clients achieved real results and incredible ROIs using actionable strategies. On today’s episode of Rock the Podcast, we’re rebroadcasting a live testimonial interview with one of our clients, Chris Kenney!  Chris is a sought-after business leverage expert who teaches coaches and consultants the Chris Kenney Sales Mastery Formula. This tried and true method goes far beyond traditional sales training! Chris knows the key to building a successful business is to focus on one thing – SALES. He specializes in teaching his clients how to sell in an authentic, non-pushy, genuine way with no gimmicks or schmoozy techniques. He believes we all have within us exactly what we need to courageously pursue our deepest desires, tap our own potential, and show up with power and resilience.   As a global speaker, he challenges others to re-imagine selling and is a passionate champion of authentic leadership as a path to empowerment and success. Chris brings wit, humor, and a fresh approach to what in many times is a dry and worn out subject.   He illustrates how sales is never about the money (which comes to a surprise to many). More than a cookie-cutter strategy, he focuses on the root of urgency and teaches you how to do the same for revolutionary results.   Being bold takes courage. Chris is the master at showing people that business doesn’t have to be hard. And more-over shares his secrets that provide consistent income and impact for himself and his students. When Chris signed up with us at Interview Connections, he didn’t even have a computer. He built his business to almost 7 figures, just using a cell phone. Chris has since pivoted from an offline strategy, to an online strategy. Podcast guesting has increased Chris’s reach and exposure dramatically - allowing him to take on clients all around the world. Now, hosts come to Chris and request him to be on their show because of the brand awareness he has created by using the podcast guesting strategy. He says that his job of selling becomes much easier after podcast guesting has done the heavy lifting in creating incredible brand awareness. Chris was also able to land a $13,000 sale from one podcast, by enrolling the host in his program! On her podcast, his call to action was to join his Facebook group. The host joined the group, attended a live launch and enrolled in his program. While onboarding her, she told Chris “I was sold by the end of your podcast interview with me.” Chris contends that anyone can get on podcasts, but the challenge comes when you want to get on the right podcasts. Interview Connections helps entrepreneurs get on podcasts that not only reach their target audience, but are often hosted by ideal clients.  “The bridge between the physical and the spiritual is faith,” says Chris. The physical is what you have now, the spiritual is what you want, and the bridge that takes you there is faith. In order for someone to get where they want to be, they are going to have to take leaps of faith. And if they’re not willing to take leaps of faith, they’re likely to stay where they’re at. Chris knows that people make their own money rules. Your current set of money rules is what is creating your current result, and if you want different results, you have to break your money rules. When people say, “Woah that’s a big investment and that makes me uncomfortable,” Chris says that’s what is so great about it! This is an opportunity for you to step in, an opportunity for you to invest in yourself and break a rule around money that is holding you back.    If you’re trying to get to a million dollars in sales, you have to behave like a million dollar business owner. A middle class mindset is scarce, and a 7-figure mindset focuses on investing to earn more. Chris argues that you have to make money decisions based on where you want to be, not based on where you are.    Chris believes that the universe is always trying to bring you what you need, and sometimes people resist it. Most people are not willing to take the leap of faith, and they stay stuck. The opportunity shows up at the door, but you have to be willing to open the door. The reason you manifested this opportunity is because this is something that you actually need.   You can’t have a problem without a solution; if a problem is present then the solution is present. The reason people get stuck in a problem is because they resist the solution.   You can connect with Chris on Facebook!

The 6-Figure Freelancer Podcast | Freelancing | Entrepreneurship | Clients | Finances | Motivation | Personal Development | M

Getting started as a freelancer or with self-employment of any kind can feel like a big risk. There are many unknowns that often become roadblocks. Fear of taking a risk and failing can be debilitating without the right mindset.  Chris Misterek, the founder of Self-Made Web Designer, joins me today to talk about how you can give yourself permission to take risks, and how you can reframe your mindset to help you feel empowered rather than fearful.  When Chris got started in web design, it was out of necessity — he wanted to bring in more income for his family. But within his first 18 months as a freelancer, Chris more than doubled his full-time salary. He knew he had made the right decision, and never looked back. Chris credits much of his success to taking the leap — jumping in and consuming as much information as he could to both build his portfolio and knowledge base.  A couple of years ago, Chris decided to go back to full-time employment as a designer. And he noticed that the biggest thing holding most people back from starting a side hustle wasn't a lack of talent, but fear — fear of failure, risk, the unknown, etc.  Knowing he'd been through all of that before and that his experiences could be helpful, Chris launched his coaching business, Self-Made Web Designer.  In this episode, Chris and I talk about how he got started, the pivotal moment that led him to make the jump into web design, and how you can overcome imposter syndrome and get started!    "Winners lose a lot more often than losers. Give yourself permission to fail, and do it a lot. Because you're going to learn a lot of things from those mistakes. And one day you're going to be able to look back, and it might be really slow, progress might be a lot slower than you would hope, but you're going to look back and you're going to realize, you just scaled this mountain.” ~ @ChrisMisterek Main Takeaways Some people are more risk-averse than others, and that's ok. But don't look at nudges toward self-employment as bad. It's empowering! For those just starting out with self-employment, know what you want to accomplish and let those goals drive your decisions. But don't let it hold you up for too long; jump in and figure out the details later. Have the mindset of being able to pivot and shift to attain your goals, even if it means dropping clients.  Do something for another designer or freelancer that you wish someone would have done for you.  Links and Important Mentions Self-Made Web Designer Late Bloomers: The Power of Patience in a World Obsessed with Early Achievement by Rich Karlgaard Chris on Twitter Chris on Instagram Stay in Touch Follow Avani on Twitter Follow Avani on Instagram Follow Avani on LinkedIn

My friend, Chris SD, from Sync Songwriter will talk all about sync licensing -- all the ins and outs, all you need to know, all the different ways you can get licensed, how you can build relationships in the business and how to get more of your music licensed. Be ready to get excited about sync placements just like how Chris is so passionate about it. He is bringing 5 of his music supervisor friends on a virtual panel this October 11th so you can learn inside tips directly from them. Join us on this free workshop at femusician.com/chris. Chris started as a touring indie musician in Canada. The band parted ways then he got into music production and working in different roles with bigger artists and won some awards. He was then given the opportunity to move to LA for work. After his wife got pregnant, he yearned to spend more time with his daughter instead of being in the studio for 12-14 hours a day. He thought about moving his work online which he did, then he started getting inquiries about sync licensing. He previously had a similar job in Canada and so he started connecting with music supervisors in the US. So now his job is connecting indie artists with music supervisors for television and film. There is so much great music from indie artists but they lack relationship with the right people in the industry. When Chris was working with indie artists in Canada, he did notice that the indie artists were just as good as the bigger artists except that they do not have the managers and labels to push them. When Chris started doing sync licensing, he didn't know anything about it. He thought having the connections was enough so he did all the mistakes. He sent the wrong music or sent it at the wrong time and did the wrong approach. By talking with music supervisors and learning more about the behind the scenes, he cracked the code about sync licensing and helped people do that. After teaching people, he brought them infront of the music supervisors and let them build that relationship themselves. Here are other important things Chris shared:Types of Payments from Sync LicensingWhen your music if played on TV or film, you got performance fees from your PRO. Sync Fee - lump of cash to license your music from the productionRoyalties - Everytime that show airs, you get royalties for that. You can have one song playing in more than one show and you can get a lot of royalties for that.Typical Ways to Submit Your Music for Sync LicensingPay-to-submit sites (ex. Songtradr, Broadjam, TAXI)Non-exclusive Music LibrariesExclusive Music LibrariesLicensing AgentsTips on Sync LicensingMusic supervisors prefer songs that was written from the heart rathen that music written specifically for sync. There's no way to submit a demo. Whatever you submit has to be the final mix that is played.Your songs also need to be cleared ahead of time and fully and legally authorized to be used in the show. When you get yourself a placement, you have to be ready. You will get a lot of attention but that is fleeting. You need to capitalize that moment. You need to make sure your music is out there and people can find your music and find out who you are. Having your lyrics on your website also helps in a big way so people can search you just by your lyrics. The ultimate way of getting your music into TV and film is developing relationships and your reputation with the actual people who play the music.Chris will be having an amazing event on October 11th at 11 AM Pacific Time where he brings 5 music supervisors and hear all the behind the scenes of sync licensing so you can see a road map on how you can get your music into TV and film. Here are other important things Chris shared: Types of Payments from Sync LicensingWhen your music if played on TV or film, you got performance fees from your PRO.  Sync Fee - lump of cash to license your music from the production Royalties - Everytime that show airs, you get royalties for that. You can have one song playing in more than one show and you can get a lot of royalties for that. Typical Ways to Submit Your Music for Sync LicensingPay-to-submit sites (ex. Songtradr, Broadjam, TAXI) Non-exclusive Music Libraries Exclusive Music Libraries Licensing Agents Tips on Sync LicensingMusic supervisors prefer songs that was written from the heart rathen that music written specifically for sync. There's no way to submit a demo. Whatever you submit has to be the final mix that is played. Your songs also need to be cleared ahead of time and fully and legally authorized to be used in the show. The ultimate way of getting your music into TV and film is developing relationships and your reputation with the actual people who play the music. Chris will be having an amazing event on October 11th at 11 AM Pacific Time where he brings 5 music supervisors and hear all the behind the scenes of sync licensing so you can see a road map on how you can get your music into TV and film. Scanner School - Everything you wanted to know about the Scanner Radio Hobby

Are you interested in scanning Federal agency frequencies? In this episode, Phil welcomes Chris Parris, an expert on Federal scanning and writer of the blog The Fed Files. They discuss how Chris found his way into Federal scanning, tips and tricks for people interested in trying it, and so much more!   What You Need To Know Guest Chris Parris is known in the community for his work scanning Federal signals. Chris started trying Federal scanning when he was touring a radio tower in the 1970s and was told that there was an FBI repeater on site, so he began to research how to listen to those frequencies. When Chris moved to southern Texas near the border, he became particularly interested in listening to border patrol and other very active Federal agencies operating there. When you start listening to Federal frequencies, you need to have patience because they often don’t broadcast that often. You should look between 162.0-174.0 MHz and 406.0-420.0 MHz to find the majority of Federal agency communications. There are some smaller bands with some Federal or military operations, including 138-144 MHz and 148-150 MHz. Though most communications are digital, you can still find quite a bit of analog particularly among smaller agencies. Most law enforcement need to maintain interoperability in their communications with each other, like local police with the FBI, but other agencies don’t need that. Even Federal agencies have call signs and are licensed frequencies. Chris’s biggest tip is to be patient, because it’s unlikely that you’re going to find a big list of great things to listen to right away. Chris Burch found clay, albeit by accident, back in the fall of 2013. Chris's mother used to do slip casting and always referred to her work as ceramics. When Chris enrolled in Ceramics I in college, he thought that’s what he'd be doing. To his utter surprise, Chris had actually registered for a wheel throwing class. It was all over once Chris had his hands in the clay!

PART 2 - AVAILABLE TO GRAVE KEEPERS ONLY - LISTEN HERE (http://www.patreon.com/thegravetalks) In part two of our interview, available only to Grave Keepers (http://www.patreon.com/thegravetalks) , we discuss: When Chris goes head to head with something dark that was not human, how does he deal with it?  Can “peace” be made between any ghost and the living, or can a spirit deny the request?  When it comes to “ghosts” or “spirits”, are they always the echo of the dead?  When a grave is disturbed? Is it the spirit of those who were buried there that return or is it something else?  Can the living change the attitude of a negative spirit?  What simple things can a person do if they believe they are being haunted to find peace with the spirit world? As a Grave Keeper, for $5 per month you will get: Access to every episode (http://www.thegravetalks.com/category/podcast-episodes/) of our show, AD-FREE – MONTHS BEFORE THEY GO PUBLIC.
