Welcome to another episode of the Testing Peers. Chris, Russell and David are joined by the returning Sam to talk about a topic close to all testers hearts, the ability of storytelling. Before diving into the main topic, Russell asks the Peers what their favourite cars are, lots of classics mentioned including the almost predictable choice from Russell of the AC Cobra (which he may have mentioned before).Part of the testers role includes storytelling, whether this is in bug reports, presentations, or just discussions with team members, it is key that the right story is told to bring everyone along the journey. Sam tells of his adventures at Agile Testing Days where a musical was performed to tell a story, possibly taking story telling to a new level (for testers anyway)The key with story telling is making it relevant to it's audience, which will enable them to invest effectively. What are your tips for good storytelling?contactUs@TestingPeers.comTwitter (https://twitter.com/testingpeers)LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/testing-peers)Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/testingpeers/)Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/TestingPeers)We're also now on GoodPods, check it out via the mobile app storesIf you like what we do and are able to, please visit our Patreon to explore how you could support us going forwards: https://www.patreon.com/testingpeersThanks to our brand new sponsors – NFocus Testing.nFocus are a UK based software testing company.

Facetime hin oder her, there`s nothing but the real thing! 6.

Following on from achieving his goal of taking part in the Goodwood Revival and making his debut in a Ford GT40 in 2012, Chris talks through what went on behind the scenes in the following 7 years that set him on course to continue the journey that led ultimately to winning Goodwood's 'Jewel in the Crown', the RAC TT Celebration race, sharing a 1965 AC Cobra with Triple Le Mans winning legend André Lotterer in 2019.
You know the adage: you should never meet your heroes. Here’s the thing: Derek and Jason have. And it’s worth trying. Each of the boys came up with a list of cars that met their expectations — and a list of cars that didn’t live up to the hype. Here’s the thing: the lists were about the same length. So chances are somewhere around 50/50 that your hero will live up to its reputation. (If you’re a grouchy carmudgeon.)In this episode we talk about the BMW E30 M3 and 325i, the BMW E9 3.0 CSL, 1973 Porsche Carrera RS, the 911 SC, 911 Carrera 3.2, the 993-chassis 911, the E36 M3, Ferrari 330 GTC and 330 GTS, Ferrari 275 GTB, 250 Lusso, 330 GTC, 250 California, 308 GTB / 308 GTS, Ferrari 360, F430, F355, 328, 348, Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino, Mondial, Porsche 959, Ferrari F40, Porsche Carrera GT, Porsche 930 Turbo, Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer, 1939 BMW 328, Jaguar XK120, Jaguar SS100, BMW 850i E31, Nissan Fairlady Z432, Datsun 240Z, Toyota 2000GT, Mazda Cosmo, Honda S600 and S800, Nissan Skyline GT-R Hakosuka, Datsun 2000 Roadster, Lamborghini Miura, first-gen Acura NSX, 2006 Aston V8 Vantage 4.3, Alfa 105 cars including the GTV 1600, GTV 1750, GTV 2000, Giulia GT, Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, Corvette C2 Stingray, AC Cobra, Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, Porsche 356, BMW Z8, Lotus Elise, Bentley R-Type Continental, and of course the hot-hatches: Volkswagen GTI, Peugeot 205 GTI. The Carmudgeon Show is a comedic, information-filled conversation with Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott, two car enthusiasts who are curmudgeonly beyond their years. Proving you don’t have to be old to be grumpy, they spend each episode talking about what’s wrong with various parts of the automotive universe. Despite their best efforts to keep it negative, they usually wind up laughing, happy, and extolling their love for cars. Which just makes them angrier and more bitter.Jason Cammisa is an automotive journalist, social-media figure, and TV host with over 250 million views on YouTube alone. Jason’s deeply technical understanding, made possible by a lifelong obsession with cars, allows him to fully digest what’s going on within an automobile — and then put it into simple terms for others to understand. Also, a Master’s Degree in Law trained him to be impossible to argue with. Derek Tam-Scott still tries. He’s a young automotive expert with old-man taste in cars, and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering — which means he knows how to be civil to Jason. Or at least he tries. With a decade and a half’s experience buying, selling, driving and brokering classic and exotic cars, he’s experienced the world’s most iconic cars. And hated most of them. In this episode of the Automotive Podcast we talk about our favourite car chase musicals, featuring Baby Driver and The Blues Brothers. We also give our (spoiler-free!) thoughts on the first season of Netflix's Hyperdrive, and we can't work out how to pronounce C'était un rendez-vous. But first Chris and Marty discuss the finale of Netflix's Hyperdrive (https://www.netflix.com/title/80189648) and how there are Behind the Scenes videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6ZHDN45TEg) coming out now on YouTube from the competitors. Following on from our BMW Film Festival, we are told about a Mercedes Choose Your Own Adventure (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZLCDVpMpCg) advertising campaign during the X-Factor, and The Road Rat magazine (https://theroadrat.com) publishes a Richard Porter (https://twitter.com/sniffpetrol/status/1173572917512298497) piece where he watches all the Fast & Furious films in one sitting. Our type of man! For the release of Ford vs Ferrari (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1950186/) (never Le Mans 66 in our parish!), reviews from the Toronto International Film Festival are in. First thoughts seem average, but we're still looking forward to it! For this episode Martin discusses Baby Driver (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3890160/) while Chris revels in The Blues Brothers (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080455/). And for this week's highlights, Martin’s been watching the Goodwood Revival 2019 AC Cobra battle in the RAC TT Celebration Trophy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekVQX6tMy78) with tweed, flat caps, glorious Goodwood, Spitfires, the Hun, beer with bits in it, Stirling Moss GOODWOOD. Meanwhile Chris has been continuing obsession with historically viral videos, this time with Alex Roy analyising C'était un rendez-vous (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmdR6B1DPac). This week we bring you the life story of Guinness heir turned ’60’s muse Tara Browne. Born into Irish aristocracy, Tara’s upbringing was anything but normal. Surrounded by some of the worlds most famous writers, artists, and politicians, Tara spent his childhood absorbing culture and learning by experience. By 14, Tara was already influencing those around him, always ahead of everyone else when it came to music, fashion and fast cars. When Tara moved to London he became a central figure in the Swinging London scene, bringing people like Paul McCartney, Brian Jones, Marianne Faithfull and Anita Pallenberg together with fellow socialites, muses and influencers. “He was the living, breathing quintessence of Swinging London, a dandy with the air of a young prince. The hippest of hip cats, he always seemed to be right on the heartbeat of the moment in everything he did, whether introducing Paul McCartney to the mind-expanding possibilities of LSD in his Mayfair flat, turning heads in his psychedelically coloured AC Cobra or gadding about Londons West End with a Beatle or Rolling Stone, or perhaps Peter Sellers or Roman Polanski by his side.” Tara’s life would be a short one, but his influence on the 60’s and those around him would shape the culture forever. Make sure to check out Paul Howard’s biography on Tara, I Read the News Today Oh Boy: The Short and Gilded Life of Tara Browne, the Man Who Inspired The Beatles’ Greatest Song.
