Girls Gone Hallmark couldn't let August slip away without some new movie reviews! Along with wrapping up Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Summer, Megan and Wendy return with a review of Hallmark's latest movie, Junebug. Tune in to hear what your favorite Hallmark podcasters thought of the Autumn Reeser film, along with some listener emails! What is your favorite Christmas movie? Email us at girlsgonehallmark@gmail.com or let's talk about it in the Girls Gone Hallmark Facebook Group! Once you listen to a podcast for at least 30 seconds, you get the option to rate it between one and five stars. Return to the podcast's main page and tap the star icon. Then, tap submit. About "Junebug" - Hallmark Movie Review Antonio Cupo and Autumn Reeser who appeared together in Love at the Thanksgiving day parade, both served as Executive Producers on "Junebug." The film was directed by David Weaver. With 45 directing credits David has kept busy working with Hallmark. A few highlights include "Christmas Island" and "Lights, Camera, Christmas!" He is also directing some of the episodes of the upcoming series "Holidazed."  The script was written by Summer Isreal Johnson. This is Summer's first full length movie. Autumn Reeser plays Juniper. Autumn has 81 acting credits and this is the first time we've seen her on Hallmark since the final installment of "The Wedding Veil" in early 2023! She will be making an appearance at the Hallmark Christmas Experience this holiday season.  Aaron O'Connell plays Alex. Aaron has 18 acting credits and previous appeared in "With Love, Christmas," "My Christmas Love," and "12 Gifts of Christmas" for Hallmark.  Mila Jones plays young Junebug. Mila has racked up 19 acting credits at just nine years old.  She has appeared in "North to Home," "Christmas at the Golden Dragon," "Guiding Emily," and "Magic in Mistletoe." She'll also appear in "Holidazed." Donia Kash plays barista Mikah. Donia has 27 acting credits having previously appeared in "Hearts in the Game," "The Holiday Sitter" and "#XMAS" for Hallmark. They also have been on episodes of "So Help Me Todd" and "A Million Little Things."  Cheyenne Rouleau plays Kate. Cheyenne has 24 acting credits most recently in "Tipline Mysteries: Dial 1 for Murder." She also appeared in "A Dickens of a Holiday!" a movie we recently revisited here on GGH. Stellina Rusich plays Mae. Stellina's career dates back to 1991, but she didn't appear on Hallmark until 2017 when she appeared in "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Home Again." Since then she has appeared in 4 additional Hallmark movies to round out her 41 acting credits. Related: Autumn Reeser's 20th Movie for Hallmark Here's What We Thought We loved Autumn Reeser as Juniper, a woman in the throes of middle age who must reconnect with her youthful dreams. We see Juniper navigate her life with both humor and emotional depth. She experiences a revelation that it's never too late to follow one's dreams—an inspiring message for viewers of all ages. New Wowie Zowie Alert! Aaron O'Connell, playing Alex, delivers a standout performance. Alex, who becomes a significant part of Juniper's journey, perfectly captures the essence of a supportive and understanding partner. Alex recognizes Juniper's true self and supports her in embracing her inner child. Little Junebug (Mila Jones) We were split on our opinion of Mila Jones, portraying the young Juniper, adds a layer of innocence and charm to the film. While her character can be seen as precocious at times, she does a commendable job of embodying the spirit and curiosity of a young child. A Message We Can Relate To! One of the most beautiful messages of "Junebug" is that it's never too late to pursue your dreams. The movie emphasizes that every moment is the right moment and encourages viewers to stand up for ...

About "Catch Me If You Claus" Nina Weinman wrote the script for “Catch Me If You Claus.” Nina has 32 previous writing credits including “Napa Ever After” and “A Nashville Legacy” both from earlier this year. Nina has written a total of 30 movies for Hallmark since 2010. I also just learned from Nina herself that she has three more scripts just put into development. This was directed by Bradley Walsh. He has 44 previous directing credits including many projects for Hallmark. I did want to point out that he has also directed a couple of episode of the series “Sullivan's Crossing” which stars Chad Michael Murray and Scott Patterson (that's Luke from Gilmore Girls) - where season 1 is currently airing on the CW. If you're a GGH listener and watching “Sullivan's Crossing” drop us an email or a DM and let us know if it's something we should be watching. Italia Ricci stars as Avery. Ricci has 27 previous acting credits. Her last film for Hallmark was “Don't Go Breaking My Heart” in 2021, which was also written by Nina Weinman. Her work outside of Hallmark includes a show called “The Imperfects” which is a sci-fi action series now streaming on Netflix. Of course you might also recognize her from the 53 episodes of “Designated Survivor” or as April Carver in “Chasing Life.” Related Podcast Episode: Girls Gone Hallmark reviews "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" with Italia Ricci. Luke Macfarlane stars as Chris. This is Luke's second movie for Hallmark since returning to the network after a short hiatus. Earlier this year we saw him in “Notes of Autumn.” Luke continues to work outside of Hallmark with a recent true-crime movie for Lifetime called “Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story” as well as a movie called “Lone Star Bull” which is currently in post production. Related Podcast Episode: What did we think of "Notes of Autumn" - Listen to the review here. “Catch Me if You Claus” was filmed in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - which according to TheCinemaholic.com - shooting started at the end of October 2023 and was wrapped up by November. This came out on Thanksgiving Day. Is that the tightest turn around we've seen or do you think those dates are inaccurate? Who Was in "Catch Me If You Claus?" See a familiar face? Girls Gone Hallmark is a twice-weekly Hallmark review podcast. Today, Megan and Wendy, review the Lacey Chabert sequel "Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up." With its excellent ensemble cast and razor-sharp dialogue, could this sequel sleigh the first movie? Download and listen now! About Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up Director - Maclain Nelson - His 14 directing credits include this year's "A Heidelberg Holiday" and of course the OG "Haul Out the Holly." Writer - Chris Sey  - With only 6 credits, Christopher has only written one previous Hallmark movie, "You're Bacon Me Crazy." He was not the writer on the first "Haul out the Holly." Christopher Sey's incredible efforts during the pandemic. While researching him, I learned that his wife is an ER doc at a hospital in Los Angeles. Along with some friends, he founded a non-profit called DINE ONE ONE that not only provided meals for healthcare workers, but also supported local restaurants.  "Haul out the Holly: Lit Up" was filmed in Utah in September 2023. Lacey Chabert (Emily) - With 175 acting credits it's safe to say Lacey is more than just the queen of Christmas. She also appeared in "A Merry Scottish Christmas" and "The Dancing Detective" this year in addition to reprising her role as Gretchen Werner's in a Walmart Black Friday commercial. Wes Brown (Jared) His 48 acting credits include a ton of Hallmark, but believe it or not we've only reviewed two of his movies here on GGH. Wes dropped his Christmas Jazz album this year titled "My Kind of Christmas." Stephen Tobolowsky (Ned) - Stephen wins the prize for most acting credits of an Actor Appearing on Hallmark, if such a prize exists, with 290 credits. What hasn't he been in? He was a series regular on "The Goldbergs," "One Day at a Time," "Californication," "Silicon Valley" and "Heroes" and we're glad to have him on Hallmark. Related Podcast Episode: Girls Gone Hallmark reviews the original "Haul Out the Holly" from 2022. Melissa Peterman (Pamela) Melissa always lights up the screen in any role among her 36 acting credits. She appeared in "Baby Daddy" on Netflix and of course her role as Barbara Jean on "Reba" is iconic.  Ellen Travolta (Mary Louise) - yes, that Travolta! She has 52 acting credits and appeared in series like "Charles in Charge" and "Joani loves Chachi." In addition to reprising her role as Mary Louise on "Haul Out the Holly," she's reprising a 30 year old role on "General Hospital" as Gloria Cerullo coming up soon. Jennifer Aspen (Jane Johnson). She has 84 acting credits including 44 episodes as Daphne in the series "Party of Five" (with Lacey Chabert). Seth Morris (Joe Johnson). He doesn't have as many acting credits as Stephen Tobolowsky, but with 138 the dude has been in some stuff. Including, "The Big Leap" (a FOX one-season series), HBO's "Veep," Netflix's "Love," "The Good Place," "Parks and Rec," "The League" and so much more.  We got a quick cameo from Eric Mabius who plays Allan, Pamela's husband. Who Was in Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up? It's the episode that I ask my Guest Goddesses to listen to if they aren't clear on the Goddess Origin Story of it all. It's funny to hear how I try to describe what it is in this first episode and what it means now. When I first shared the Goddess Origin Story concept I focused on when did my guest first feel like a bad bitch that was going to do awesome stuff. But as I reflect on the first episode, I realize that the meaning of The Goddess Origin Story is in the story! Now I frame the question around when did a Goddess show you a better way of doing something or when you passed something on to a Goddess in Training. Or they can share when they first knew they were a bad bitch. It's really about women helping other women. Boom! Affordable housing continues to be a hot topic, not just in the GTA, but across Canada, especially with expected record immigration fueling the increase in demand for housing. At the same time, we have seen residential sales and listings drop over the past year due to housing affordability, rising interest rates, changes to government housing policies and concerns of a possible recession.

What is perfectionism? Does perfectionism stress you out? Today, self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and perfectionism stop here. It shall no longer be something that distracts us, goddesses. Today we bring back a favorite GGH guest and my idol, Julie Lokun- a woman who has taught me to embrace the mess and stop giving a sh*t about what other people think. If you are a goddess, or goddess in training, the first rule of goddess-hood, is that you have to be you, no matter what other people think. In fact, our favorite guest was rather messy in this episode of Goddesses Gather Here. You will see a few delightful bloopers that make this episode even more charming. Julie Lokun embraces being "FLAWSOME""Being Flawsome" is a term used to describe the practice of embracing and celebrating one's imperfections and flaws. It is about accepting and loving oneself, with all one's imperfections, rather than striving for perfection.Being flawsome encourages people to focus on their strengths and unique qualities, rather than on their perceived shortcomings. It also promotes self-compassion, self-acceptance, and a positive body image. The idea behind being flawsome is to be confident, comfortable, and happy in one's own skin, and to see beauty in imperfections. Here are some tips from me, your favorite podcast host and goddess on elevating your life and thinking a little different about embracing your flaws. BE FLAWSOME!Here is some expert advice for women and anti-perfection:Embrace your imperfections: Accept and love yourself for who you are, imperfections included.Focus on progress, not perfection: Celebrate your small victories and focus on self-improvement, not on being perfect.Challenge perfectionist thinking: Notice and challenge thoughts that perpetuate the perfectionist mentality.Practice self-compassion: Treat yourself with the same kindness, care and understanding you would offer to a good friend.Set realistic expectations: Be realistic and adjust expectations to match your abilities and limitations.Take care of your mental health: Prioritize self-care and seek help when necessary to maintain good mental health.Surround yourself with positive influences: Surround yourself with people who encourage and support you, rather than criticize or judge you.Learn from failures: View failures as opportunities for growth and learning, rather than as personal shortcomings.Goddesses-- if you have a messy partner check out:MAN YOU ARE CRAZY and THE SUFFERING PODCASTTogether we are STRONGERFuture Sponsors (Dream BIG Goddesses)The MediacastersStay the Course AmazonAre you a goddess? Meeting yourself where you're at is a GGH fundamental. This goes beyond a phrase and is a practice for our healing, eager, self-sabotaging and pressure filled self. In this very first episode, I share a bit of my own journey in arriving at this point. Trauma plays a huge role in how we seek support, when we seek support and our ability to show ourselves self-compassion depending on the nature of our experiences. We talk about one's evolution through healing and explore how self-awareness has supported us in where we're at and want to go.

Melissa recently had the absolute honor of guiding Liz Forkel on a 5-day backpacking trip. Liz is a personal trainer, fitness coach and owner of LizFit, a fitness center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Nearly seven days a week, she helps her clients find their way to a fitter and healthier lifestyle by leading them in small group classes, personal training sessions and nutrition consultations. She works side by side with them to help raise their confidence and reach their fitness goals, but like many small business owners and busy entrepreneurs, it's rare for her to be able to take some time out for herself. Liz has had thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail as an item on her bucket list for nearly 30 years now, and with a milestone birthday approaching next June, she has decided that 2022 is her time to attempt it! But setting aside your actual business and only form of income for a 6-month trip on trail isn't a decision made lightly. While she is starting with a base fitness level that is unparalleled, and has every intent on success, she'd done no actual backpacking up until a few weeks ago, so she knew she needed to seek out a trusted source to help show her the ropes. A google search gratefully brought her to Girl Gotta Hike, and after a couple of zoom planning sessions, Melissa was stoked that Liz decided to choose GGH to be her guide. We spent 5 days and 52-miles together from New York to Massachusetts, hiking the entire Connecticut section of the Appalachian Trail. What follows is their post-hike convo. They started recording just after they reached the Mass border in order to catch her in the moment – feeling accomplished and proud but not too far removed from their 5 days and 4 nights, (some of them rainy and cold), out there. Liz is super insightful about her time on trail, and at almost 60 years old, proves that there's no time like the present to fufill a dream! SHOWNOTES AND USEFUL LINKS:Gossamer Gear Discount — use code “GIRLGOTTAHIKEGOSSAMER” for 15% off your first purchase at GossamerGear.comLink here to check out GG's Vagabond Jet BackpackLizFit – InstagramLizFit - WebsiteAppalachian Trail ConservancyAMC - Connecticut Chapter

Whoo-hoo! Episode 17 (aka the first of the Slackpack Series) is an entire episode dedicated to doling out some down and dirty of advice from four female thru-hikers, who love nothing more than discovering the joys of getting deeper into the backcountry. During an impromptu trek through Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York, GGH host Melissa “Click” Goodwin, and her semi-regular podcast guests and trail besties, Emma “Sprout” Hileman, Lauren “Woodchuck” de la Vega and Kelley “NoSeeUm” Blosser, all discuss some of the finer (and funnier) points of what comes up on a long-distance backpacking trip.To keep the conversation from going totally of the rails, a 10-minute timer per topic was set as the ladies took off toward Melissa's apartment. As it goes with any good on-trail conversation with friends, their topics did ebb and flow a bit, but they still managed to cover a lot of ground on our short walk including descriptions of some on-trail lingo, recalling some special seasonal moments on our adventures, tips for trip planning and must haves for meals-- and all with a ton of laughs.  Slackpacking: Hiking a day's worth of mileage (or more) on a long-distance trail pursuit, but without the burden of a fully loaded backpack. Heavy gear can be left in the custody of others, in order for the thru-hiker's body to have a bit of a break from the usual grind. Hey Guys and ghouls. This very short show is to give you information on an amazing charity set up by hunter over from Catacombs Of HHN Podcast. Helping Haunts launched a few days ago with a simple mission statement, to do something with the platform that we were given through the Catacombs of Halloween Horror Nights. The haunt community can be and has shown me to be one of the most caring and inclusive environments for all people. In association with @GGHPodcast, @Neozaz, @Wendigutz, @HHN365, @RIPTour and @PangolinFL, Helping Haunts is helping to raise money for the https://minnesotafreedomfund.org in love and remembrance for George Floyd. (All @ are Twitter Handles) If you donate at least $1, you will get an exclusive link to a massive HHN Podcast crossover episode. The Catacombs of HHN, GGH, RIP Tour, and HHN365 are all together for the first time ever to all collectively talk about our favorite special moments we've had at HHN and why it resonated with us and made us the fans we are today. This episode will only EVER be available through this charity drive. So if you want to hear it, you can do so for only $1. If you donate $5 or more, as well as receiving the HHN crossover episode, you will also be entered into our Helping Haunts giveaway where we are giving away multiple prize packages. For every additional $5 donated, you will get an extra entry. To be split between these prize packages, we currently have a brand new Ghostbusters HHN29 shirt (XL), a SIGNED print from Shelby featuring her art from Vamp '55 and Jack the Clown stickers, a photo print from @TravisTerrell12 featuring the Killer Klowns Scarezone from 28, a Catacombs of HHN lanyard set, a signed CD from Orlando punk rock favorites Pangolin, a “starter pack” of Horror Blu-rays from my personal collection, a digital copy of the Invisible Man (2020), a plush pillow of Chucky from Child's Play, and some Horror related enamel pins. There's a lot more being added constantly, so stay tuned for special surprises added as we get closer to our finale date.
