KILL THE LIGHTS Drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas and THE GEMS guitarist/bassist Mona Lindgren join us on this week's edition of The Loaded Radio Podcast KILL THE LIGHTS is the band featuring former BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE bassist Jason "Jay" James and drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas, alongside former members of THROW THE FIGHT, THREAT SIGNAL, and STILL REMAINS. The group made waves with their debut album, "The Sinner," released in 2020 under Fearless Records. Praised for its "statement songs" (Distorted Sound) and technical prowess, it garnered acclaim for its expansive sound and precise execution (Sonic Perspectives). After piling up millions of streams and earning acclaim from the likes of KERRANG! and Metal Hammer, a sense of unwavering unity drives their second full-length offering, "Death Melodies", which arrives March 8 via Fearless Records. “The best stuff comes when we're together,” states Moose. “We'll joke around for hours, have a few drinks, and the songs write themselves. We're so connected in this way. There's no path. We're not trying to follow anybody. This is the first album that really sounds like Kill The Lights.” In December 2017, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE announced the departure of Thomas, replaced by Jason Bowld (PITCHSHIFTER, AXEWOUND). Bowld had been touring with the band since November 2015, filling in for Thomas, who had taken time off for family reasons. Prior to that, bassist Jason James' departure from BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE was announced in February 2015, during the recording of the band's fifth album, "Venom." Jamie Mathias was brought in as his replacement in May of the same year. In the podcast, "Moose" talks about his stepping away from BFMV, how he came to join KILL THE LIGHTS with his ex-bandmate and plans for the immediate future behind the kit. The second portion of the show features THE GEMS guitarist/bassist Mona Lindgren. Emerging from the remnants, Swedish rock newcomers THE GEMS, comprising former THUNDERMOTHER members vocalist Guernica Mancini, drummer Emlee Johansson, and guitarist/bassist Mona “Demona” Lindgren, announce their debut album, "Phoenix," which arrived on January 26, 2024, via Napalm Records. THE GEMS' potential was swiftly validated with the release of their inaugural standalone single, "Like A Phoenix," in the summer of 2023. This debut single soared to the No. 2 position on the German Rock Radio Airplay Charts, catching the attention of rock enthusiasts worldwide. The album's captivating opener, "Aurora," sets the stage, allowing Mancini's distinctive, powerful, and bluesy vocals to shine. Following this, the infectious rock anthem "Queens" celebrates feminine strength and resilience. Themes of empowerment and perseverance echo throughout "Phoenix," exemplified by tracks like the standout "Send Me To The Wolves," advocating for self-assertion and triumph over adversity. In the show, Mona discusses what exactly happened with THUNDERMOTHER, the formation of THE GEMS, the crushing new album "Phoenix" and tons more.
Sweden's THE GEMS have unleashed their highly anticipated debut album "Phoenix." Consisting of ex-Thundermother members, bandmates Guernica Mancini and Mona “Demona” Lindgren chat to let go of the past, embrace the new, and detail how Guns N' Roses influenced them. New Swedish rock trio The Gems – featuring ex-Thundermother members vocalist Guernica Mancini, drummer Emlee Johansson and guitarist/bassist Mona “Demona” Lindgren – rose from the ashes with their debut album, Phoenix, released on January 26, 2024, via Napalm Records. Featuring a mammoth 16-tracks, Phoenix is a statement of an album that shows a united group at the heights of their talents. Thundermother Currently on tour with the Scorpions, Swedish rock queens, Thundermother, are introducing themselves to America while promoting their latest album, “Black and Gold.” We pulled vocalist Guernica Mancini away from a “senior citizens pool party” to discuss the thrill of touring with her heroes, why Sebastian Bach is a major influence and how “the Kreator vibe” made its way into a Thundermother video. Created and Produced by Jared Tuten
Dan from Disturbed was kind enough to take some time to talk about the upcoming record, working with Anne Wilson, and even his thoughts on social media, and more. Dorothy was also generous, talking about her latest album, the "spirit" that went into it, hanging with Axl Rose and LOTS more. Guernica Mancini of Thundermother rounds out today's podcast. She talked about touring with the Scorpions, her influences, Swedish hockey players...sorta, and much, much more. -Meltdown- https://wrif.com/2022/09/24/disturbed-interview-with-meltdown-at-riff-fest-2022/ https://wrif.com/2022/09/24/dorothy-interview-with-meltdown-at-riff-fest-2022/ https://wrif.com/2022/09/22/meet-the-band-thundermother-meltdown/

Electric artists have been playing acoustically since the beginning of recorded music. Usually, the slower ballads and the prettier mellow songs by rock artists were accompanied by acoustic guitars. This week we are celebrating bands that can re-imagine an up-tempo song with acoustic instruments and still rock! We are pulling the plug… and gasping for air guitars! What's this InObscuria thing? We're a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. This week we discuss the FORGOTTEN. Mtv started a series in 1989 called “unplugged”, and almost every mainstream relevant act started producing acoustic albums or versions of their songs. This week we listen to some artists that you may have never considered as having acoustic interpretations of their songs.Songs this week include:Sevendust – “Seasons” from Southside Double-Wide Acoustic Live (2004)Thundermother – “Dogs From Hell (acoustic)” from Heat Wave Deluxe Addition (2021)Diamond Head – “Lightning To The Nations” from Acoustic First Cuts EP (2002) Los Kung-Fu Monkeys – “Common Chord (acoustic)” from Common Chord (2020)Clutch – “Basket Of Eggs (acoustic)” from Blast Tyrant Deluxe Addition (2011)Haunt – “On The Stage” from Unplugged Vol. 1 (2021)Suicidal Tendencies – “Get Your Right On! (acoustic)” from Get Your Fight On! (2018)Mercy Beat – “Pissed-Off Song” from Walk With Me (1999)Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://twitter.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/inobscuria/og-shopCheck out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/If you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/

+++ THUNDERMOTHER to bring the heat wave +++ all about the new longplayer "Heat Wave" +++ the ultimative party album to survive this sad rock summer +++ blitz tour on the fire truck +++The four Swedes from THUNDERMOTHER have already stepped on the gas for the past few years. Now her new album "Heat Wave" is available, with which the Northern girls delivered the absolute party album of this rather sad rock summer.Anyone who likes street rock with three chords in the style of AC / DC, Motörhead or Status Quo feels the right heat waves here to simply blow away the corona blues. In addition to extremely catchy songs, the bluesy voice of front woman Guernica Mancini, which I got on the live a few days before the release, is extraordinary from my point of view. She told me everything about the new album, we picked a few songs for it and I received hot informations about her unusual promo tour in the coming days, in which the four Swedes will play Corona-compliant exclusive-shows across Germany - partly on a converted fire truck,The album is available here on Amazon https://amzn.to/333b6MT on CD.THE BLOG OF ROCK is your hard rock & heavy metal podcast music magazine. My name is Uwe Lerch and I'll take you backstage to RockStars!Of course we chat about the music that connects us all. About new records, about live plans and what used to be. But we also talk about the people behind it. What inspired and motivated them and what RockStar tips do they have for you out there. New episodes will be out every Thursday - free and loud!
