Matt finally goes into his first passion and talks about the 1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War and their actions at the battle of Gettysburg. He neglects to talk about his childhood where he had a civil war uniform he made along with a sword made out of a hockey stick but is including that in the show description. If you wanna read more on this, check out The Last Full Measure by Richard Moe and Pale Horse at Plum Orchard by Leehan. Anyways. I did a lot of editing on it, it came out okay.

For this episode of Brewstilled, I'll be recapping Week 15 of the 2023 NFL season. We're now towards the end of December with teams looking to play their final push toward the playoffs while some are looking to resolve lingering storylines. The Raiders got a big win on Thursday night. The Lions also got a big win against the Broncos while we also saw drama on the Bronco's sidelines between Russell Wilson and Sean Payton showing some tension between the two. The Panthers secured an upset win against the Falcons. Green Bay also lost a key game against Tampa Bay, which may cost the Packers their playoff hopes. The Cowboys continue to struggle on the road as they lost to the Buffalo Bills. For the Ravens they continue to dominate the AFC Conference in their win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. For Jacksonville, Trevor Lawrence went into concussion protocol and he may not play in week 16 as the Jaguars look to secure their spot in the playoffs. For Seattle, they won a big game against the Eagles on Monday night as they try to make the playoffs. Yet, can Seattle sneak into the playoffs? All this is discussed here on Brewstilled with a holiday ale from Barrel of Monks Brewing as the beer pairing.

Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Diane Ladd, Legendary Actress, Starring in “Isle of Hope” About Harvey's guest: Today's special guest, Diane Ladd, is a legendary actress whose monumental body of work includes some of the most critically acclaimed and beloved movies and TV shows ever made. She's been nominated for 3 Academy Awards for her performances in “Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore”, “Wild at Heart” and “Rambling Rose”, in which she and her daughter, Laura Dern, made show business history as the first mother/daughter duo to earn Oscar nominations for the same film. She's won dozens of international awards including The British Academy Award, the Golden Globe Award, the Independent Spirit Film Award, the Susan B. Anthony Award, and the Palme d'or Award at the Cannes Film Festival. She's been nominated for 3 Emmy Awards for her performances in “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman”, “Grace Under Fire” and “Touched by an Angel”. In addition to her Oscar-nominated roles, some of her most iconic movie performances can be seen in “Chinatown”, “A Kiss Before Dying”, “Christmas Vacation”, “The Cemetery Club”, “Mrs. Munck, which she also wrote and directed, “Ghosts of Mississippi”, “Primary Colors”, “Joy”, and one of my all-time favourites, “The Last Full Measure”, directed by Todd Robinson who appeared on our show last year. And, in addition to the 3 TV shows I already mentioned, for which she earned Emmy nominations, she's delivered some of her most memorable television performances in dozens of shows including “Chesapeake Shores”, “Kingdom Hospital”, and “Enlightened”, once again co-starring the wonderful Laura Dern. She's written 2 bestselling books entitled, “Spiraling Through the School of Life: A Mental, Physical and Spiritual Discovery”, and “A Bad Afternoon for a Piece of Cake”, which won the 2014 Tennessee Williams Literary Award. And I'm very excited that she's here to talk about her newest film, entitled, “Isle of Hope”, an unforgettably poignant and moving film about a mother-daughter relationship that takes a dramatic twist when the mother has a life threatening stroke and wakes up thinking she's living 15 years in the past. Our guest's performance as Carmen Crawford, the mother in this film, is generating enormous Oscar buzz throughout the industry. And that's no surprise to anyone. After all, the renowned film critic Richard Corless of Time Magazine said it best, when he wrote that this woman is one of the top ten actresses not only in America, but the whole world. From Kinoplus with love: Adios.

The panels that make up the Vietnam Veterans Memorial each represent a moment in time. Some moments are measured in years but for one of those panels, its beginning to end lasted only eight days. It could have been any eight days in the Vietnam War, but this panel tells the story of a secret mission in Laos, rising tensions back home, and the incredible story of a Medal of Honor recipient.
This is the second episode of the Last Full Measure. It covers the exploits of Corporal William Pittenger and the Andrews raiders, who stole a train deep behind enemy lines, with the objective of destroying rail, bridges, and telegraph wires along the way. It's a fascinating story, and one which Corporal William Pittenger would later write about in his book Daring and Suffering. Corporal William Pittenger was one of the first recipients of the Medal of Honor. Just as many Americans have lost or diminished the meaning of Memorial Day, so too have many Christians diminished the meaning of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through our response to it. The ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ demands its beneficiaries to be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in return. What prevents us from doing that is a telling statement about our commitment to Christ and His purpose for us as His followers.

If you thought you were an industry veteran, try stacking yourself up to Mark Damon. Starting his entertainment career in 1954, Mark has bounced from stage acting, to starring in Westerns in Italy, to executive producing his own films. Mark has produced and acted in over 70 films and has been awarded 10 Oscar nominations for films like Das Boot (1981) and Monster (2003). “A businessman at heart,” Mark left his acting career behind and founded the Producers Sales Organization to distribute domestic films abroad. In this episode, Mark talks about why he left behind his movie star title for producing, how COVID is highlighting changes in the industry, how he pioneered the still used foreign sales technique known for making independent films possible, and much, much more. Mark's collaborations with BondIt and Buffalo 8 include the BondIt Executive Produced films The Last Full Measure (2019) and Wally's Wonderland (2020). THE LAST FULL MEASURE tells the true story of Airman William Pitsenbarger, who died during the Vietnam War. THE LAST FULL MEASURE is more like a drama about Vietnam vets suffering from PTSD than a war movie. It has a few touching, emotional moments, but the story moves too slowly...Click the following link to read the full review: https://www.movieguide.org/reviews/the-last-full-measure.html

An extremely seasoned director of photography, Byron Werner began shooting anything and everything that came his way once he graduated film school. Byron faced several challenges on his upcoming film, The Last Full Measure. Shot on location in Thailand, the film has many practical effects shots and very little VFX. The camera crew shot from helicopters and with multiple cameras- sometimes as many as 5 or 6. The Last Full Measure starring Sebastian Stan, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Plummer, and Bradley Whitford opens wide Friday, January 24.
