Presenting the award, Michael Carey, Chairman, Enterprise Ireland said, "The Big Ideas pitching element and awards at Start-Up Day provides a platform to showcase Enterprise Ireland's commercialisation funded research approaching start-up status, with significant potential for success. The event also highlights the accomplishments of our national technology transfer system, the high calibre of research commercialisation activity within Ireland, and the significant impact these companies will have to help solve huge global challenges. Atrato Partners, the newly appointed Investment Manager of Social Housing REIT (SOHO) talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the current state of the specialised supported housing sector and how the company is tackling key challenges within its portfolio. Fund manager Adrian D'Enrico was joined by Michael Carey and Natalie Markham, offering a comprehensive update on SOHO's operational and financial performance. D'Enrico addressed common misconceptions about the sector, clarifying that it is not temporary or homeless accommodation, but instead provides long-term homes for adults with care needs. “A misconception as well is that specialised supported housing is a passive investment based on the long lease,” he explained, underlining the importance of resident occupancy and the operational real estate nature of the assets. Carey detailed the steps taken to resolve issues with Parasol and My Space Housing Solutions, including lease transfers to stronger providers, which are expected to improve rent collection. “We've collected 72% of the contracted amount so far with Westmoreland, and we're confident we'll meet our target,” he said. Markham reviewed the FY24 results, noting that while net tangible assets declined to £0.99 per share, rent collection stood at 93% and the company maintains strong debt metrics with an average maturity of 8.6 years and a 2.74% all-in cost. There was a time when all that mattered was getting American companies to invest in Ireland. Now in Trump-world, the goal is getting Irish firms to set up in the US. Ireland is already the 6th biggest investor in the US in absolute terms employing 110,000 Americans. So what will the new Strategy be for Enterprise Ireland the agency charged with creating export champions? All to discuss with Michael Carey the Chair of Enterprise Ireland.

Over the past two episodes, I told you the story of non-verbal, autistic 13-year-old Jonathan Carey, who was smothered to death in 2007. His killer was a care worker from a facility for people with developmental disabilities. How could something like this happen? In this episode, you'll hear my conversation with Jonathan's father, Michael Carey, who has spent the last 17 years pushing for a massive overhaul of New York State's mental health system as well as legislature to help protect others with developmental disabilities. This is part three of the mind-boggling story of Jonathan Carey.Form letter to print and send: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VogzAAW9Kh1by2-IDOgN94ZI73-BxyxZ/view?usp=sharing “Prevalence of Violence”: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/prevalence-of-violenceArticle about sexual predator Stephen DeProspero: https://www.ydr.com/story/news/crime/2017/02/20/predators-dream-ny-pays-3m-family-molested-boy/98154714/ Article about whistleblower Jeffrey Monsour: https://www.adirondackdailyenterprise.com/news/local-news/2017/11/opwdd-whistleblower-asks-workers-to-speak-up/ “Jane Lynch” affidavit (“coherent oversight scheme”): https://drive.google.com/file/d/17vYWA2DY_HqwIluGcyyadExmDqckjRHh/view?usp=sharing Jonathan's Law: http://jonathanslaw.com Jonathan Carey Foundation on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JonathanCareyFoundation New York Times Abused and Used series: https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/interactive/nyregion/abused-and-used-series-page.htmlSpotlight movie (2015): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1895587/ Photos related to today's episode can be viewed on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sufferthelittlechildrenpod You can also follow the podcast on:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sufferthelittlechildrenpodTwitter: https://www.twitter.com/STLCpodTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@STLCpodMy Linktree is available here: https://linktr.ee/stlcpod Visit the podcast's web page at https://www.sufferthelittlechildrenpod.com. When I interview junior military officers (JMOs) to determine their fit with the Cameron-Brooks program, I ask them to describe their leadership style. They often label their style as “I am a servant leader.” When I help the officers in our program prepare answers to the question, “What is your leadership style, or similarly, how do you build a team?” I hear much of the same, such as, “I use a servant leadership style approach.” When I hear JMOs describe what they mean, I wonder if they genuinely understand servant leadership. To help gain clarification, I interviewed Dr. Michael Carey, a professor at Gonzaga University School of Leadership Studies who was the first director of the Organizational Leadership program in 1987 to be a guest on the show. Dr. Carey is the coordinator for the Master in Servant Leadership program and teaches several classes. Gonzaga University is recognized as one of the leading institutions in Servant Leadership. I am currently a graduate student in the Gonzaga Master's of Organizational Leadership and have taken two classes in the Servant Leadership concentration, one of them with Dr. Carey and another with Larry Spears, the founder of the Spears Center for Servant-Leadership and former longtime President and CEO (1990-2007) of The Robert K. Greenleaf Center for Servant-Leadership. My conversation with Dr. Carey aims to easily define and explain Servant Leadership and how we can all be Servant Leaders at work, at home, and in other organizations. In addition to Servant Leadership, we also cover Transformational Leadership, which is related. The conversation is not academic at all and is highly applicable to military officers still serving, those preparing for the transition, and the Cameron-Brooks Alumni listeners as well. Listen and learn more about servant leadership and the JMO. To learn more about Servant Leadership, Dr. Carey recommended the topics listed below. Robert Greenleaf is considered the founder of the Servant Leadership concept. He wrote the essay “The Servant as Leader” in 1970. The institute he started on Servant Leadership is now based at Seton Hall University. You can find numerous resources and articles on Servant Leadership at the Robert K. Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership at https://www.greenleaf.org/. He also referenced the Spears Center for Servant-Leadership, which I had described previously. Both of these websites have blogs and book recommendations. Here is my favorite Robert Greenleaf quote that I try to follow each day, “The servant-leader is servant first, it begins with a natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first, as opposed to, wanting power, influence, fame, or wealth.” Thank you for listening to the Cameron-Brooks podcast! As you consider your potential transition from the military to the business world, if you'd like to discuss your marketability or how Cameron-Brooks can guide you to launch your career, please contact us directly. Schedule a call here. Cameron-Brooks has a 50-year track record of guiding military officers to create a step-by-step plan to learn about their options, connect their military experiences directly to opportunities in corporate America, craft a resume that will stand out to hiring managers, and ultimately launch a successful business career.
Jonathan Carey was autistic and nonverbal. Because he needed more care than they could provide in their home, when Jonathan was nine, his parents sent him to a highly recommended residential program at the Anderson School in Staatsburg, New York, where young Jonathan was starved, isolated, and physically abused. Due to the PTSD Jonathan suffered from the abuse, he had difficulties at home, and the Careys had no choice but to find another residential placement for him. In 2005, Jonathan began attending the residential program for adolescents at the well-regarded O.D. Heck Developmental Center in Niskayuna, New York. On February 15, 2007, 13-year-old Jonathan died at the hands of an O.D. Heck employee, and his father, Michael Carey, began his mission to uncover the rampant corruption in New York state's care system for the developmentally disabled. This is part one of the mind-boggling story of Jonathan Carey. My Magic Mind link | https://magicmind.com/BYLAINE20 (use code BYLAINE20 at checkout)Willowbrook: The Last Great Disgrace | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRK0LO-9ZYk Unforgotten: 25 Years After Willowbrook | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNLyKW8fCNg The Path Forward: Remembering Willowbrook (2023) | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev80qEtp2u4 Interoffice memo about abuse at the Anderson School | http://www.autismschoolabuse.com/Abuse_at_Anderson_School.html Photos related to today's episode can be viewed on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sufferthelittlechildrenpod You can also follow the podcast on:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sufferthelittlechildrenpodTwitter: https://www.twitter.com/STLCpodTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@STLCpodMy Linktree is available here: https://linktr.ee/stlcpod Visit the podcast's web page at https://www.sufferthelittlechildrenpod.com.By supporting me on Patreon, you'll also access rewards, including a shout-out by name on the podcast and exclusive rewards. Some Republicans say the bill is a political stunt, so they won’t support it. Speaker Mike Johnson says the bill is dead on arrival in the House. The hosts discuss if the bill will go anywhere. Prosecution rests amidst bombshells in Trump hush money trial Trump’s hush money trial could wrap up as soon as next week. Today, the prosecution finished their questioning of Trump’s former fixer, Michael Cohen. Some of the biggest news dropped today, bringing to light news that Cohen stole money from the Trump Organization and then lied about it. The KSL at Night hosts are joined by Greg Skordas, KSL Legal Analyst, to break down what happened today and what it means for the rest of this trial. Role of third parties in the new presidential debates When the modified presidential debates were announced, voters started showing some concern about the elimination of the third parties. Now, we’re learning that 7 in 10 voters want to see third-party and independent candidates in presidential debates this cycle. Taylor and Rusty discuss the decision to modify debates and how it called into question the potency of the long-standing debate organizer. Voters’ concerns about inflation and how it’ll affect elections Lots of issues affect how people vote in elections. Border security, abortion rights, election security – all big ones. But a new poll finds that inflation is “far and away” the biggest issue for Americans heading into the 2024 election. It’s affecting Biden’s approval ratings, but it’s not a clear-cut finding. President Biden has insisted that higher prices and inflation is due to “corporate greed” but do the KSL at Night hosts agree? Non-profit announces six-figure ad buy in Utah Attorney General race The June 25th primary is quickly approaching, and now a group called Building America’s Future has announced a six-figure ad buy in support of Republican Attorney General Candidate Derek Brown. Although there was no specific number for how much money was spent on the ads, this remains a large funding effort in a very important race. The KSL at Night hosts delve into the details. Republican party in-fighting in Arizona and elsewhere After losing the race for Arizona governor in 2020, Kari Lake is back in the spotlight, this time running for Kyrsten Simena’s senate seat. But rifts within the state GOP could hurt hers – and Donald Trump’s — chances of winning. Samuel Benson, Deseret News Political Correspondent, explains why this race, in one of the most critical swing-states in the country, could be hurting the party’s chances with the general electorate. New survey: best government agency to work for KSL at Night Hosts Taylor Morgan and Rusty Cannon wrap tonight’s show discussing the annual ‘Best Federal Agencies to Work For’ survey just released last week. “The purpose of the lawsuit is to fully expose the bank's willing support to groups that are killing Americans—and others—overseas.” This announcement by attorney Nicholas “Deke” Deketomis sets up the gladiatorial arena between Big Banking and a team of well-meaning activist lawyers. The Iraq and Afghanistan Wars introduced the concept of IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) and EFPs (Explosively Formed Penetrators) that seriously maim or kill. It appears that these bombs are still being made and utilized by terrorists overseas. Who is funding them? Could it possibly be a large global bank with a major branch in New York? Is a reverse money laundering scheme in place that allows money transactions to bypass Department of Justice sanctions? Deke and his colleagues—co-counsel Michael Carey and investigators Carol Morris and Jake Rutledge—set out to uncover the deceit and bring the white collar criminals to justice. With the help of Michael's friend and war veteran, Joel Hartbeck—who first blows the whistle against the bank—the Deketomis team quickly discovers that they may have tackled more than they bargained for. A dangerous right wing paramilitary group might be involved in protecting the bank's interests, and Hartbeck soon goes missing. As Deke's lawsuit progresses, the sudden appearance of IEDs and EFPs on US highways cause death and destruction. Hosts Laura and Carletta are joined by special guest Dr. Michael Carey to discuss how to keep your body active and well while you're working! Mike shares tips and tricks for stretching, posture, and keeping yourself from the dreaded Zoom fatigue! Podcast Notes: In this episode, our guest Dr. Michael Carey, chiropractor and executive director of What the Strong do to RISE, explains how working from home has affected our posture. Dr. Carey believes there are two pandemics here, COVID-19 and the "Flat Butt Syndrome" caused by the lack of movement in the last few years. Learn how to escape from Flat Butt Syndrome with some helpful tips below: Dr. Carey talks about Upper Cross Syndrome (UCS), also known as "Text-Neck". UCS is caused by poor posture (such as looking down at your phone and texting). Over time, your disks start to compress and that can lead to neck and back pain. It is important to reset your posture throughout the day, but if you have been experiencing pain, the VRC offers a Low Back Care and Pain Prevention class, every Tuesday and Thursday, to help you improve your posture in order to stay pain-free. One of Dr. Carey's favorite tools to use for stretching is a 36-inch Foam Roller. Check it out on Amazon here. Check out Dr. Carey's Foam Rolling videos on the VRC YouTube page to learn Basic Foam Rolling for the Lower Body and Basic Foam Rolling for the Upper Back. Experiencing pain but don't have a Foam Roller handy? Dr. Carey also mentions two of his favorite stretches to do without a Foam Roller: Bruegger's Stretch and Figure 4 Stretch. Learn how you can even do these stretches at your desk by checking out the videos on the VRC YouTube page! Find more information about us at VEBAResourceCenter.com
Hosts Laura and Carletta are joined by special guest Dr. Michael Carey to discuss how to build better smaller habits to assist with the bigger challenges in life. Podcast Notes: In this episode, our guest Dr. Michael Carey, chiropractor and executive director of What the Strong do to RISE, helps us understand why building smaller habits can lead us to healthier living. Remember to start off slow and create habits that bring value to your life, but most importantly, don't get upset if you hit an obstacle. Here are some tools to help you incorporate feasible habits into your everyday life: Dr. Carey mentions how John Assaraf has taught him how habits are formed through the 100-day challenge. A University of London study shows in order to build a habit, you must do it 100 consecutive days, up to 365 consecutive days. Pick a new, small habit and begin at Day 1. Do this habit for the next 100 days in a row in order to form the habit. If you miss a day, start again at Day 1. Learn more about John Assaraf and his 100-day challenge here. After age 50, we begin to lose 2% of our muscle fibers each year. Even 5 minutes a day to focus on small exercises is better than none. Learn more about this and read one of Dr. Carey's favorite articles "5 Simple Exercises to Prevent Age-Related Muscle Loss" written by Thomas Michaud. Dr. Carey also mentions how the VEBA Resource Center offers beginner strength and stretching classes. The skeletons of mammals originate as soft cartilage that gradually transforms into hard bone (in humans, the process begins in the womb and continues until late adolescence). This bone-building process has been called ossification since the late 17th century, and the verb ossify arrived soon after the noun. Both terms have come to refer to figurative types of hardening, such as that of the heart, mind, or soul. The words come from the Latin root os, meaning "bone." Os has also entered English as a synonym of bone in scientific contexts.

Email a voicemail message to celticpodcast@gmail.com Nova Fortier sent a beautifully satirical question: "Mark, I’ve been listening to your podcast on and off for a couple of years. I enjoy most of your podcasts, your updates on where life finds you. But, when you label something ‘female’ or ‘women’ on your podcasts, I am just extremely confused as to why you included any male voices on your latest podcast? I mean, truly, now, why must I endure male voices on a titled podcast to showcase female voices? Looking at all the musical recordings and references throughout history, surely the male ego has been adequately stroked to allow for women to, truly, be able to showcase their own musical abilities without treading on the chrystalline male ego? Sure, you, as a master musician in your own right, can do better, to research an entirely female show when it is marked as such? Yes, that was stroking your fragile male ego, because, after listening to you for so long, I’ve learned that you need such proddings. Simple male, will you never evolve to meet your female sister, ever?" Trip McCool emailed: "Marc, I want to thank you for playing "Gravy In The Grave". Both my wife and I had Grandfathers who fought in WWI and suffered poisoning from Mustard Gas. It was tough time for young Irish men who returned to a world with little to no support for the insanities of war. The ravages of the mind, body and soul. My Grandfather Frederick Michael Dougherty, was one of those who "Let the women do the thinking and the men do the drinking." Add four children, the stock market crash, the great depression and 'the old boy' was off for the greener pastures of the mind. When my father said, "You don't know what growing up tough is." he meant it! "You want gravy with your spuds! Sweet Jesus will give ya Gravy in The Grave." Keep your guard up!" James Martin emailed a photo: "I am frying up some giblet doggy treats while doing some thanksgiving meal prep. Someone in my house is very excited about these treats." Can a 500-year old teaching philosophy translate to online learning? Saint Ignatius of Loyola articulated a series of spiritual exercises, which became the basis of Jesuit learning. Central to this philosophy are the learner has primary agency in the learning, and the process of discovery and reflection will unsettle old ideas. Isn't unsettling old ideas exactly what innovative online higher education does?Kieran and Dan talk with Michael Carey, chair of the Department of Organizational Leadership in the School of Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University, from his home in Spokane, Washington. Mike discusses how leadership is learned through an online curriculum. In this episode, we follow up last week's pizza podcast with your questions answered. First up from the Stella Culinary Archives, we answer Nina's audio questions about cooking pizza on a BBQ Grill. Then Chef Jacob responds in turn to the following questions and comments. Neapolitan Pizza Cathy in Arizona asks about Grinding Her Own Wheat for Neapolitan Pizzas Thanks for all the great info. I know that you recommend refined 00 flour for pizza dough. Do you think Sonoran white wheat whole flour ground extra fine would be at all suitable and work ok in the high temperatures in the 700s or so? I love baking Sonoran white wheat sourdough bread in my kitchen oven and we are going to purchase a Uuni Pro and I'm looking forward to trying breads and pizzas at the higher temps. I have an All Grain Mill and it makes a pretty fine pastry flour. I plan to purchase some OO flour and do a test against my own home ground Sonoran white wheat flour in pizza crusts. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks much Michael Carey via YouTube So I made a pie and the dough did not brown at all on the bottom at 475 f, but toppings and cheese cooked good. over proofing could have been the reason? DP ie via YouTube Hi Jacob. This was a truly excellent tutorial - must be one of the best videos about doing pizza on Youtube. Well done! I have three questions. 1: Does it make a big taste difference to use Buffalo Mozzarella compared to basic Mozzarella when cooked? Used raw, I find normal Mozzarella almost unbearable compared to the delicious Buffalo quality. 2. I saw your other great video about how to make the pizza dough. I prefer to use sour-dough as it tends to develop much more complex flavors compared to yeast. Would it be possible to do your recipes with the same proofing time using sour-dough or do you think I should change proofing times in any way? 3. Do you think sour-dough would make a better tasting pizza, (assuming you avoid over-proofing it making it too sour)? Thanks from your Swiss fan. Luca Baldoni Good video, some comments. The edge of the Pizza Napoletana (not Neapolitan...not everything need to translate in english) is not called Cornichon. Cornichon is a French pickle, very delicious but nothing to do with the Pizza from Napoli - Italy. The edge of the Pizza Napoletana is called CORNICIONE and here the literal translation is from the base word of Cornice = FRAME, Cornicione = BIG FRAME. But the meaning of CORNICIONE is just creating a big edge to contain all the pizza toppings. MainAccount via YouTube I have a question about the oven. Do you think it would be possible to mimic a wood-fired oven with something like a Big Green Egg ceramic BBQ? Gonzalo Fernandez Your oven was perfect but when you cook the pizza was a black smoke ... My guessing is you put green wood or a contaminated wood just before cook the pizza I do have a pizza oven club Sicilian Style Pizzas (aka Pizza Romano) Sander Van Hove With all due respect, but sugar? I have been in Italy some 15 times in many kitchens and never have I met an Italian adding sugar or olive oil to the basic dough of a pizza, Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza Papa George Chronicles COMPLIMENT FROM A NATIVE CHICAGOAN: Your recipe is the most authentic I've yet to find on YouTube thus far. Having been in Chicago's food scene for more than thirty-five years (before I retired), I recognize your 'build technique', crust development, cornmeal use, etc, etc. Have relatives who have worked in just about all of the most popular and successful pizza places in Chicago. They would be proud to acknowledge your style. Thank you for keeping it 100%! Tba 1 Many mistakes here. never use bread flour--the whole point of Chicago deep dish is its flaky, biscuit-like texture=AP flour. There has never been cornmeal in authentic Chicago deep dish. No need for butter, although it's O.K. To achieve the correct texture for Chicago deep dish you need lots of oil (usually 3 tablespoons per cup of flour) and very short mix/knead time (think biscuits). Have a question or comment? This episode of Firesides sees hosts Gregory Edwards and DJ Hansen getting nostalgic with Boss Dungeon writer Michael Carey and friend of the show Raz Hampton. They reminisce over the seventh generation of home consoles, now snuggling up in its death bed, waiting for the reaper. The group recounts their highs and lows of the generation, both with games and trends, and find out that, while companies may have taken consumers for a wild ride, they had fun with it.
In the third episode of The BD Firesides, Greg and DJ are once again joined by Michael Carey to discuss the Final Fantasy franchise. Memories are stirred up and everyone gets in the mood to replay at least one game in the franchise as it gets both lavished with praise and harshly lambasted.
Our hosts are joined by fellow Boss Dungeon writer Michael Carey for discussion about the Tales JRPG franchise. They discuss every game they've played in the series, as well as some of the additional media such as the Tales of Vesperia prequel movie. (Spoilers: Tales of Vesperia is beloved)
Tommy is gone for the week, but the crew gets to take on Microsoft's major Xbox One reveal and discuss Nintendo's latest hijinks. Michael Carey joins in once more as Tobbii Karlsson basically forces him to become a regular. Then Gregory Edwards talk about his high-school life.
It's here, it's finally here. The season 3 of Just Another Anime Podcast kicks off with the old trio of hosts kicking into gear along with new co-host Michael Carey. (Previously on Episode 36) The crew goes through all 31 different shows they'll be watching throughout the season of spring. The return of "Visual Novel Descriptions" is a success as Gregory gets put into a laughing state for the last ten minutes of recording due to a certain title-screen.
