WWE SmackDown 12/23/22 review with JDfromNY. WWE SmackDown full show review, results, highlights, and livestream post show for Friday December 23rd, 2022 with JDfromNY on Off The Script. Hit Row has been one of the more disappointing acts in all of WWE since their return under Triple H. After recent reports that Triple H is "underwhelmed" with some of the talent he has brought back, one has to wonder if that includes Hit Row. Tonight, they challenge the Uso's for the WWE Tag Team Championship, and if they don't put on a good showing, it may be the end of the line for Hit Row. Ricochet teams with Braun Strowman against Imperium (Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser) in a Miracle On 34th Street Fight. Kerry and Collin are joined by their good friend, Jim Peebles, to talk about the holiday classic, the original "Miracle On 34th Street." For a movie that gives the viewer a lot of reasons to doubt Santa Claus, it nevertheless has stood the test of time and remains a Christmastime favorite. What's the key to its success? What makes the film's trailer so unusual? How are letters to Santa handled in this movie as opposed to how they're used in many other Christmas movies? All this, plus a Book segment and a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE SHOW! Book titles covered: "The Shop On Main Street" (1965) "Monsieur Verdoux" (1947) "Paris, Texas" (1984)

Put on your uniform, control your temper and don't swear around your adopted kid because---as Paul Douglas learned in 1951---there are Angels In The Outfield. This is the oldest movie we've ever covered, it's also our first black-and-white film and it has to be the most religious. Then again, who CAN'T relate to hearing a heavenly voice and then taking advantage of divine assistance so they can win baseball games? It's a Pittsburgh miracle! Speaking of fantasy, both versions of Miracle On 34th Street cropped up a lot because there are many comparisons, particularly in the "courtroom" scene. We've got quite a bit to say about Clarence Brown's pseudo-classic that inspired Disney's goofy 1994 remake, so pour a gallon of ketchup on your steak, begin an improbable romance with Janet Leigh and turn yourself into a better person so an orphan will love you as we yap about Angels & Pirates. And he's the political adviser to the Judge. Now in the movie, Santa, or at least the character who plays Santa at Macy's is on trial to determine if he is the real Santa Clause, or not.

Released with little fanfare and modest box office, The Nightmare Before Christmas gradually attained a significant audience of millennial children through home video and, by the early years of the 21st century, was widely seen as a seasonal favorite of the same stature as A Christmas Story (1983) or Miracle On 34th Street (1947). These days, the film is a holiday staple whose merchandise clogs department store and pharmacy shelves right alongside comparable items featuring Snoopy or The Grinch. Ryan is joined by Cheryl and Toby for a discussion of this yuletide perennial. Thematic topics for this one include the movie's oft-debated metaphors regarding cultural appropriation, the NAACP's complaints about Oogie Boogie being a minstrel show stereotype, Jack Skellington's ties to both Disney princesses and the midlife crisis, and how the socio-political hierarchy in Halloween Town is supposed to function (Cheryl argues that pumpkins are an invasive species in this universe). --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ryan-valentine3/support
Natalie Wood was one of the biggest film stars of the late 50s and early 60s, starring in such classics as Miracle On 34th Street while still a child and continuing on to acclaimed roles in Rebel Without a Cause, Splendor in the Grass, West Side Story, and more. By 1981 her career had cooled, but she still had one thing from her early days of stardom - her marriage to fellow actor Robert Wagner. Well, remarriage, to be precise. There was uncertainty about whether the second Wood-Wagner marriage would survive much longer by the time the couple, fellow movie star Christopher Walken, and skipper Dennis Davern set off for a weekend-long jaunt on the couple's yacht, the Splendour, just after Thanksgiving 1981. At the end of the trip, only 3 of the 4 guests on the Splendour would return home alive. What really happened the fateful night that Natalie Wood supposedly drowned off the California coast? Was it simply a terrible accident, as ruled in the coroner's initial report, or something much more insidious? And why is the famous "Number 2" from the Austin Powers film series the LA police department's number 1 suspect? We tackle all the stories, theories, and more for a drama-packed 1 year anniversary episode! ________________________________________ Connect with us on social media: Facebook: www.facebook.com/aintitscary Twitter: @aintitscary Instagram: @aintitscary Patreon: www.patreon.com/aintitscary ___________________________________________ Thank you to our sponsors: BetterHelp - Special offer for Ain't it Scary? listeners: Get 10% off your first month at www.betterhelp.com/aintitscary Audible - Get a FREE audiobook and 30-Day Free Trial at www.audibletrial.com/aintitscary BarkBox - Enjoy a FREE month of BarkBox on us when you sign up for a 6 or 12-month BarkBox subscription! Natalie Wood, one of Hollywood's brightest stars, and one of the biggest Hollywood mysteries. She captured America's heart in Miracle On 34th Street at the young age of 8, and set out to prove to the world she was no longer that sweet little girl when she starred in the classic movie, Rebel Without A Cause. Her upbringing was far from normal, with an overbearing stage mom that could put all other stage moms to shame. She was instilled with an immense fear of water at a young age by her mother, a fear that plagued her throughout her life, up until her tragic and mysterious end. What happened to Natalie Wood on that dark and ominous night in November 1981? How does someone with such an overwhelming fear of water, drown? And does someone know something they aren't telling? Or will her tragic death forever remain a mystery. CONTACT ME: followthedarkpodcast@gmail.com FOLLOW ME HERE: Instagram Facebook
Vidcast: https://youtu.be/VPOkjMpecZc Imagine that you're waiting for a biopsy report, a job offer, a college or grad school acceptance, or a colonoscopy. You're on pins and needles anxious. Just how do you cope? A new study from UC-Riverside gives you a novel strategy: watching an awe-inducing or heart-tugging movie. The researchers studied a total of 729 subjects all stressed awaiting important test results. Groups were exposed to various videos including one of an awe-inducing sunrise with orchestral accompaniment, one of cute animals playing, and the third a rather boring documentary about padlock manufacture. Those who experienced awe reported more positive emotions and significantly less anxiety while waiting than the the subjects who screened the less inspiring selections. So just what is awe? The psychologists define it as a “transportive mindset” of the sort often triggered by a tear-jerking movie. I have a few of those that work every time: It's A Wonderful Life, Miracle On 34th Street, and Mr. Holland's Opus. The take home point from this study is to load a few of these videos on my phone so that next time I'm awaiting some anxiety-provoking news, I'll be prepared. You should do the same! Kringle gets a job at Macy's but is soon swept up in a ploy to get him committed by the department store's psychologist. Will Fred (John Payne), the young lawyer be able to save Christmas and get the girl? You'll have to watch. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review. Presenting a replay of The Screen Directors Playhouse "Miracle On 34th Street" aired Dec 21, 1950.
This Christmas episode we look at classic movies such as It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle On 34th Street, and White Christmas. Enjoy!
Ho-ho-ho, readers! As an early Christmas present from us to you, our dear readers/listeners, here's the episode of the absolutely-on-schedule and not-late-at-all-no-you-shut-up regular series, The Ranking, that you've all been asking for. No, not the Star Wars one. Or the two-part MCU special. Or even the one about 1989. Instead, this is the one where we discuss and rank Santa Claus in the movies! Yes, from Richard Attenborough in Miracle On 34th Street to, erm, Edmund Gwenn in Miracle On 34th Street, in this episode Chris Hewitt, Helen O'Hara, Ben Travis, and Olly Richards talk about their favourite movies involving Father Christmas. And, as you might expect, it gets a bit silly and weird. But, as you might not expect, it somehow gets sexy. All will be explained within. (NB: if you have kids, maybe don't listen to this with them.) Enjoy.
Get your X-Mas list together because we're going to see Santa! Yes, this week we're talking about MIRACLE ON 34th STREET, the 1994 update of of the 1947 holiday classic! Starring 'lil Mara Wilson, Richard Attenborough, Elizabeth Perkins and dreamy Dylan McDermott! It's the story of a little girl who refuses to believe in Santa unless she gets exactly what she wants for Christmas. If only we'd known how easy that would work. Produced and scripted by John Hughes, Miracle helped us find the true spirit of Christmas, but how does it hold up now? Listen, subscribe and rate us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or Stitcher. Also, you can also support us by either contributing Patreon campaign, or by asking Santa for Rewatchability t-shirts from TeePublic! Also, don't forget to check out these other Christmas Episodes!

Happy Holidays Tanner Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. I'd like to welcome you to the first holiday episode in the Tis' The Season Series. Full House S2E9: Our Very First Christmas Show, which aired on December 16, 1988. The show's first Christmas episode has the Tanner Family including Joey along with Jesse's parents taking to the skies for a Tanner Family Reunion per Danny's request in Colorado on Christmas Eve. Surprise to all, Rebecca Donaldson (Danny's co-host of Wake-Up San Francisco and Jesse's love interest) is along for the flight only to be changing planes in Denver to spend time with her family in Nebraska. We also meet a grumpy airline passenger whose alter ego reveal later is a surprise to us all. This man might seem familiar if you watched the 70's and 80's hit show Dukes Of Hazzard. Yes, this man played Boss Hogg County. This guy was a character you loved to hate. The Tanners get all up in this guys kool-aid when apparently due to the airline's incompetence of booking seats he receives the same seat assignment of 3B as DJ and Danny? This was the 80's everyone. We were nowhere near the digital age we are now, where you can just have your boarding pass on your phone and can scan it as you board the plane. This would have been a dream for this guy(with today's technology airline procedere is a breeze requiring very little human interaction)who clearly appears to be repelled by the human race (maybe this was a clue to his otherworldly presence) or maybe it's the Tanners. From an overbooked seat, missing out on first class (which is offered to DJ and Stephanie)and toddler Michelle pulling off that man's toupee leading him to yell at her in embarrassment. Jesse and the family along with whole plane break out in song "The Lady From Ipanema". Good grief, this is the song that calms her down, granted we're a year or so out from her favorite song being "Teddy Bear" by Elvis Presley. Things go from bad to worse as the weather must have taken a page out of Mr. Grumpy Puss's playbook and decides to impact the Tanner's flight with a snowstorm leaving them grounded until morning at an airport in Colorado. Stephanie's whole problem throughout the episode is that she doesn't want to go on this trip because Santa knows she lives in San Fran and he won't be able to find her if she goes to Colorado. Apparently you're wrong Steph, because unbeknownst to all of you he's hitched a ride along with and will end up making all that is wrong with everyone, right again. Along with missing presents arriving on Christmas morning on the conveyor belt. The presents that Little Miss Snoopy Mc Snooperson DJ was oh so determined to find to the point of making her way through the dirty, cramped, spider infested crawl space in the attic to discover. Joey pulls A Miracle On 34th Street on Stephanie which goes horribly wrong as Michelle outs him which just confuses and upsets Stephanie more leading her to once again take refuge in her phone booth and harass the operator again for Santa's phone number. Jesse after majoring prodding from his grandbaby starved parents who desperately want a grandson (mind you I point they have two later on that they never see, if it's not onscreen it doesn't happen)shares his first kiss with Becky under the mistletoe. So much excitement and crazy times for the Tanners and family etc on this trip. I had so much fun covering this episode and I hope you enjoy listening to it, whether you're headed out to cut down a tree or Christmas shopping for loved ones and friends, while you're at home decorating your tree, hanging stocking or making Christmas cookies, take the Full House Podcast along, it's fun for the whole family. Join me next week as we jump four seasons ahead in the future to S6E12; A Very Tanner Christmas, which aired on December 15, 1992. Have a great holiday season everyone!

By the time of their fifth album Everclear from 1991, American Music Club was anything but a household name. If you caught their single "Rise" on late on night on MTV, or by chance on an adventurous radio station, you are among a lucky few. Considering the musical landscape for rock, where 80s hair/glam metal was still dominant while ascendent alternative had yet to be come a proper decade-defining brand name, it's easy to see why you may have missed it. AMC evokes ideas of genres without ever settling on one, making mainstream classification all but impossible. Touches of Americana thanks to acoustic guitars, but not really any twang. Downbeat and bleak slowcore until Mark Eitzel furiously strums an acoustic in bursts of kinetic release. The album feels timeless, yet could easily be the recollection of a single night of boozing and fury. It did make Rolling Stone take notice, granting the album "of the year" consideration and naming Mark Eitzel the preeminent songwriter of the moment, so maybe it's time everyone else finds the reverbed-out beauty in Everclear. Songs In This Episode: Intro - Rise 15:02 - Why Won't You Stay 17:21 - The Dead Part Of You 22:35 - The Confidential Agent 29:16 - Miracle On 8th Street Outro - Sick Of Food To support the podcast, join us at Patreon for bonus content and more. We double down on Christmas (supposedly there's a war on it) with a month of originals and remakes on this festivus for the rest of us. First thing we do is put Santa on trial with the 1947 and 1994 versions of MIRACLE ON 34th STREET, finding one more violent and unfortunately for that particular Santa... he also has the less impressive lawyer defending him. Glenn Douglas Packard was born the eldest of three in Detroit, MI to Roger and Paulette Packard. When Glenn was 5 years old, his father convinced the family to pack up all their belongings and move to a run-down farm in Michigan, where Roger saw a potential future in the dairy business. As Glenn was growing up into adolescence and the farm grew profitable, he began working in the family business in Clare, MI. Eventually, Glenn went on to study Dairy Management at Michigan State University. On one of his vacation trips back home, he suffered a horrible accident with a 4-wheeler. With a compound factor to his right tibia and fibula leg, his doctors insisted the only option was to amputate his leg from the knee down. After months of fighting the infection, which had spread through his entire body, due to the open wound, countless surgeries and a steel rod places in his leg, Glenn had to relearn how to walk. He made a promise to himself that if, and when, he fully recovered, he would do the one thing he had dreamt of all his life; to dance and entertain. While at 21, where most dancers are already experienced, Glenn was just walking into his first dance class. Within 2 years he was accepted into the scholarship program of the highly acclaimed Alvin Ailey School of Dance in New York City. Fast forward 10 years later, after being dubbed "Dancing entrepreneur" by The New York Times, Glenn is one of the most sought after dancer/artist directors and choreographers in the city. His multi-dimensional & innovative work made him an international commanding force in the entertainment industry. Providing a wide spectrum of styles, he has been celebrated for casting and choreographing such projects as Whitney Houston's All-Star Gala, featuring powerhouse artists like P!nk, Deborah Cox, & Brian McKnight, and A Miracle On 34th Street, performed at the world famous Madison Square Garden with numerous artists.Creative control was entrusted to Glenn by The 2001 GLAAD awards, the American Cinema Awards, reinventing the Chippendales show in Vegas along with their USA & world tour, Giants Half Time Show, the New York City Knicks, Miami Heat Dancers, and the Premios Awards working with the biggest artist in Latin Music like Ricky Martin, Prince Royce, Daddy Yankee, Carlos Vives, Marc Anthony, Fanny Lu, Chino Y Nacho.
