Tout Foutre On Air

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 4, 2021 97:50

This episode will be equally useful to you if it's not social media that's your problem, but networking or something else you've been hating in your business.   Listen to this episode    What You'll Learn What to do when you're sick of using social media What to do instead to market your business Questions to ask yourself to help you to get clarity on exactly what's going on How to reduce the noise of social media + notifications Things you might need to give yourself permission to do How to get help with social media (and I don't mean hiring a social media manager) Questions to Ask How do you actually feel about social media? What do you want to get out of using social media? Is it working? Are you getting results? What's actually going on? Are you trying to do too much? Are you trying to be everywhere? Do you dislike posting your stuff on social media, or do you dislike reading other people's stuff? Are you still playing the comparison game? Are you experiencing burnout or overwhelm? Are you naturally more of an offline marketer or networker? Is the social media just not your thing? Is it the wrong time of the month? (yes, seriously...but not in the way you're thinking) Is your business in transition? Is your life in transition? Are you simply on an inner journey or are you at a crossroads on your path? Catherine is a good friend of mine, and it's been so inspiring to see how she's grown her business since we trained together at the same coaching school a few years ago. In this episode, Jen shares super inspiring tips on how to tame your inner critic and find personal freedom.   About Jen Smith Jen Smith wants to live in a world where passion trumps profession, Sundays are dedicated to reading books and cheese is considered a superfood. She founded The Freedom Leap whilst running her first business (Jen Smith Social Media) to inspire women to quit their jobs and start a business they love. Having coached women through that process, Jen realised the current incarnation of The Freedom Leap wasn't quite right. Hitting pause on the business, and taking a deep breath allowed her to explore a passion project, Mandala Meditation - the process of doodling and colouring mandalas to quieten the mind. Jen is now teaching overwhelmed and stressed out entrepreneurs how to meditate by drawing mandalas and is selling and licensing her artwork as well as painting mandala murals for other soulful business owners. It's nice to get out of the office and meet people, and it can be easy to forget that there's more to networking than just that. About Siobhan Costello Siobhan Costello is founder of Great Business Results and helps women to build their businesses through confident networking. Siobhan now runs seven successful network groups for business women in East Anglia and is passionate about showing other women how they can build their businesses by networking confidently and with authenticity and in a way means they can remain true to themselves. I'm not sure whether it was a Facebook ad, or someone mentioned Tami's Solopreneur Equation on Facebook, but I was instantly intrigued (I love profiling tools and quizzes of all kinds). I completed all of the questions, and received the response: Creative Visionary. Now, I already knew that I was a Creator in the Wealth Dynamics, and I'd come up as a Creator/Creative on other profiling tools before. But what I loved about this was the brief video that came with the description of my profile type. It felt like Tami was speaking exactly to me! I'm so excited to have Tami on the show this week to talk about how to play to your strengths. About Tami Smith Tami Smith is the Founder of The Dawning Point and an advocate for entrepreneurs in emerging work. She is the creator of a free self-assessment called “How are you actually wired to work?” Her work involves becoming conscious of innate strengths and designing work to play to those strengths. What You’ll Learn Why you need to ask yourself the question: Am I just doing what I know how to do and what I've always done? Tami's top tips on how to play to your strengths as an entrepreneur Why you can't avoid emerging work (and what that is) How to activate your weak spots Why you need to pay attention to how you produce your best work Things We Discussed Sally Hogshead Connect With Tami Website Twitter Facebook Signature Program In 2014 Tammy interviewed 90 solo-entrepreneurs to crack the code of the (Solo) Entrepreneurial Equation. The (Solo) E-eQ conversation uncovered a way to understand ourselves as the creator of our business, why we want what we want, and why we get stuck. There is a way to create better experiences for ourselves and our clients. It requires paying attention to our strengths and developing our business around the things we are naturally great at. It sounds too simple and maybe even contrary to what we've been taught around best practices. This isn't about outsourcing or The 4-Hour Work Week. For most people outsourcing isn't an option in earlier phases of business.  We have to have a certain level of traction before we start outsourcing or building a team. The question I wanted to answer was “how can I make my business work without a team and without outsourcing?” The work Tammy does has developed into a short-course called “Playing to Your Strengths” which brings clarity around innate strengths. The course is a facilitated process that quickly points you in the right direction. The main ingredient is becoming conscious of your zone of genius and how to recognize when you are in and out of your strengths. Nuovi i motori, su tutti l'inedito.
