Join comedians Rachel Fairburn and Kiri Pritchard-McLean as they explore a shared passion, serial killers. Each episode the pair will talk all things murder and macabre and have a right laugh doing it. It's time for another multi-parter, the disgusting case of John Dusffy and David Mulcahy, also known as the Railway Killers or the Railway Rapists. The two were convicted of murdering three women in the 1980s, as well as raping many more. This repulsive episode comes, appropriately enough, during the Worm Moon. Expect suitably gross anecdotes involving donating blood, urinal cakes, and actual arse worms.
Railway gates always closed. Drinking fountains. Doctors drinking and smoking. Creating a 1940/50s kitchen. There's a lot to get through on this week's Midweek Message!
The last time I played 1860: Railways on the Isle of Wight, I found myself in the lead from fairly early on. As the game progressed, that lead only kept growing. Each round, the gap widened until it was clear that nobody had a realistic way to catch up with me. The game carried on, turns were taken, but the excitement and tension had gone. The game had become a fight for second place. I call this soft elimination, and it is especially common in longer games, when you are technically still playing, but no longer really competing. In this article, I want to talk about this a bit more.Read the full article here: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2026/03/10/killing-me-softly-a-look-at-player-elimination-topic-discussion/Useful Links1860: Railways on the Isle of Wight review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2025/06/28/1860-railways-on-the-isle-of-wight-digital-eyes/Love Letter review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2021/01/23/love-letter-saturday-review/King of New York review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2020/04/25/king-of-new-york-saturday-review/Nemesis review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2022/06/18/nemesis-saturday-review/Splotter Spellen: https://www.splottershop.com/Wingspan review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2019/03/16/wingspan/The Quacks of Quedlinburg review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2020/06/06/the-quacks-of-quedlinburg-saturday-review/Survive: Escape from Atlantis review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2021/04/17/survive-escape-from-atlantis-digital-eyes/Betrayal at the House on the Hill review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2023/01/14/betrayal-at-house-on-the-hill-3rd-edition-saturday-review/MusicIntro Music: Bomber (Sting) by Riot (https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/)Main music: Vital Whales by Unicorn Heads (https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/)SupportIf you want to support this podcast financially, please check out the links below:Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/TabletopGamesBlogPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/tabletopgamesblogWebsite: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/support/(Photo by Aleksandra Sapozhnikova on Unsplash)

How could Canada—and Ontario in particular—have done rail transit better? Navigating Major Programmes never shies away from the controversial takes. In this episode, Riccardo takes to the mic with multi-disciplinary rail strategist and longtime industry builder Michael Schabas. Their candid, deeply informed conversation delves deep into what has gone awry in Canadian transit planning and what it would take to get it right.Michael traces his path from a childhood fascination with trains to a career spanning architecture, transport planning, railway operations, and major infrastructure consulting. Along the way, he helped build and lead rail businesses in the UK and Australia, consistently proving that well-run passenger rail can be both high-performing and financially viable. That global experience shapes his perspective on Ontario's railway decisions. He argues that too many projects have suffered from poor technology choices, weak route selection, and procurement strategies that don't match the true complexity of this infrastructure solution.Throughout his conversation with Riccardo, Michael also reflects on what Canadian builders have learned, the reality of Toronto's ongoing and overdue electrification project, and why high-speed rail is the answer the country too often avoids. This wide-ranging look at rail infrastructure questions long-held assumptions and challenges decision-makers to never stop learning when it comes to public transportation projects.Key TakeawaysRecovering from the rushed and ill-informed decision-making that lead to costly transit mistakes; The potential for well-run passenger rail to grow ridership and improve financial performance; How technology, route, and operating strategy choices shape transit outcomes; Why past LRT decisions failed to deliver the speed and rider benefits promised; How greenfield thinking and the right corridor strategy could change the future of high-speed rail in Canada.Quote:“If you've seen one railway, you've seen one railway. Spaces of Immigration: American Ports, Railways, and Settlements (U Pittsburgh Press, 2025) follows the travel routes of immigrants during a foundational period of American infrastructure—from ports of arrival to train cars and depots to settlements—showing how the built environment of the railways fostered segregation through physical isolation and reinforced hierarchies according to race, ethnicity, and class. Catherine Boland Erkkila highlights the magnitude of this forced separation: how spatial design and the experiences within it reflected prejudices of contemporary middle-class Americans who viewed immigrants as poor, diseased, and dangerous. Spaces of Immigration draws attention to the control wielded by railroad companies and government officials, who dispatched European immigrants to ethnic enclaves across the Midwest, some of which still exist. This book ultimately offers a greater understanding of the immigrant experience in America through the lens of spatial history, revealing deeply embedded conflicts still pervasive in our society today. This interview was conducted by Matthew Wells, Senior Lecturer in Architectural Studies at the University of Manchester. His research explores nineteenth-century European architecture, focusing on artistic techniques, technology, and political economy. Summary While the Great Hunger in Ireland remains one of the most documented tragedies of the nineteenth century, the story of what happened across the Irish Sea in the Scottish Highlands is often overlooked or romanticised. In this episode, we strip away the Hollywood imagery of baronial halls and tartan myths to look at the real experience of the Highland Potato Famine of 1846. We explore the “Geographic Trap” of the Highland Boundary Fault, the Coastal Squeeze of the Clearances, and the legal engineering of the 1845 Poor Law that left the starving with no right to relief. Using the latest research from Sir Tom Devine and Michael Lynch, we investigate the Empathy Gap between the absentee Landlords and the crofters clinging to the soil in the Western Isles. As the “Year of Railway Mania” gripped the England and the Lowlands of Scotland, a biological rot was creeping north. This is a story of how a system that prioritised economic efficiency over human survival turned a bad harvest into a national catastrophe. The Railways Bill is the most important piece of railway legislation since the 1993 Railways Act that brought about the era of privatisation. The current Railways Bill (and Act) will bring about an era of re-nationalisation. Except it's more complex than that. Great British Railways will be a massive organisation with substantial reach but it will still have to exist in a world of devolution, third party operators notably railfreight, and two thirds of its money will be spent with the UK rail supply chain, private sector companies. Whilst there is broad agreement on the need for change, theBill itself has critics as well as supporters. So we brought together 5 of the brightest minds in rail policy, finance, law and regulation to ask plenty of challenging questions including most important of all, will it make things better? It was an enjoyable and lively discussion!Membership: If you want to see even more from Green Signals, including exclusive content, become a member and support the channel further too.YouTube -https://www.youtube.com/@GreenSignals/joinPatreon -https://www.patreon.com/GreenSignalsGreen Signals: Website -http://www.greensignals.orgMerchandise - http://greensignals.etsy.comNewsletter -http://www.greensignals.org/#mailing-listFollow: X (Twitter) -https://twitter.com/greensignallers LinkedIn -https://www.linkedin.com/company/green-signals-productions-ltdYou can view our legal disclaimer, copyright information and privacy policy here - https://www.greensignals.org/legal/
I sit down with Cody Schneider, growth engineer and co-founder of Graph, for a live, hands-on crash course in GTM (go-to-market) engineering powered by Claude Code. Cody walks through how he runs multiple AI agents simultaneously to handle everything from bulk Facebook ad creation and LinkedIn outreach to cold email campaigns and live data analysis — tasks that used to require a team of dozens. By the end of the episode, you'll have a full understanding of how to set up your own agent workflow, the specific tools involved, and why domain expertise paired with AI is the real competitive advantage right now. Cody's GTM Toolkit: AI/Agent Tools: Claude Code, Perplexity API, OpenAI Codex Marketing & Outreach: Instantly AI (cold email), Phantom Buster (LinkedIn scraping/automation), Apollo API (data enrichment), Million Verifier (email verification), Raphonic (podcast host scraping): Advertising: Facebook Ads API, Facebook Ads Library (competitor research), Nano Banana Pro (AI image generation), Kai AI (bulk image generation), HeyGen API (UGC/video generation) Infrastructure & Deployment: Railway.com (servers, on-the-fly databases/Postgres), Vercel (deployment) Data & Analytics: Graphed / Graphed MCP (data warehouse, live data feeds), Google Analytics 4 CRM & Communication: Salesforce (mentioned as comparison), Intercom, SendGrid API, Slack, Cal.com API Productivity & Design: Notion, Super Whisper (voice transcription), Claude Code front-end design skill, HTML to Canvas (for converting React components to PNGs) Timestamps 00:00 – Intro 02:02 – What Is GTM Engineering? 05:12 – Setting Up Your Agent Workspace & Environment File 07:54 – Live Demo: LinkedIn Auto-Responder 09:56 – Live Demo: Bulk Facebook Ad Generator 12:31 – Live Demo: Cold Email Campaign Automation (Raphonic + Instantly) 14:47 – Live Demo: Creating Notion Documents via Claude Code 16:46 – Live Demo: Bulk Ad Creative Generator 26:05 – Live Demo: LinkedIn Engagement Scraper to Cold Email Pipeline 28:16 – Context Switching Across Tasks 29:19 – Live Demo: Bulk Ad Generator 31:41 – Live Demo: Data Analysis: Turning Off Low-Performing Ads 35:28 – Summary of GTM Engineering Workflow 37:48 – Deploying Agents and On-the-Fly Databases with Railway for Data Analysis 41:28 – The Dream of Autonomous Marketing 48:50 – Building API-First Products and Agent-Native Infrastructure Key Points GTM engineering has evolved from Clay-style data enrichment workflows into full-stack agent orchestration — where one person running multiple Claude Code agents can replace the output of a large team. The practical setup starts with a single folder containing your environment file (API keys for every tool in your stack), transcription software like Super Whisper, and Claude Code. Cody demonstrates running seven or more agents simultaneously across LinkedIn outreach, Facebook ad creation, cold email campaigns, Notion document generation, and live data dashboards. Code-generated ad creative (React components exported as PNGs) costs nearly nothing to produce at scale and allows rapid testing of messaging variations before investing in polished visuals. Deploying proven workflows to Railway turns one-off agent tasks into always-on, autonomous processes that run 24/7. Domain expertise is the real multiplier — the vocabulary you bring from your field determines the quality of output you can extract from these tools. "If we stop mining, we stop our way of life."The Lobito Corridor is more than just a railway; it is a strategic lifeline connecting the Atlantic port of Lobito in Angola to the mineral rich Copperbelt in the DRC and Zambia. In this episode, host Claude Grunitzky sits down with explorer and presenter Dwayne Fields and Sam Williams, Head of Communications at Africell, to discuss the revival of this historic infrastructure. We explore why the U.S. government is mobilizing private capital to secure access to critical minerals like copper and rare earths, which are essential for the global economy. From Dwayne's personal genetic journey back to his ancestral roots in the Copperbelt to Africell's mission to digitize the corridor, this episode examines the intersection of high stakes geopolitics and the human stories of the communities on the ground. Can large scale mining truly benefit ordinary Africans? We look at the risks of exploitation and environmental damage versus the potential for jobs, connectivity, and local prosperity.Plus: why a telecommunications company is making a documentary

Local campaigners say they're happy government is finally listening to their concerns about the dangers of domestic wood burning. A public consultation has been announced and will look at things like stricter emissions guidelines on new stoves and introducing mandatory labels. And you can hear from the MP for Gravesham who says her fight to reinstate the Gravesend to Tilbury ferry will continue in 2026.
