We speak of faith and trust. We speak of the impatience we feel, the importance of slowing down, of staying with it. We speak of responsibility, relevance, circular time and much else. The practices Sam wrote his dissertation on as practices to reconnect with life, inviting the many to agency and as a practice of attuning to vitality, within and around us. Doch was heißt "richtig", wer und was passt denn überhaupt zusammen? The most epic podcast of all time was our first episode with (arguably) the most hyped brewery in Ontario, Third Moon, back in October of 2020. That episode came in at around 4 hours and 40 minutes, and Co-Founder Chris gave us a memorable tour of his incredible beer basement. We finally had them back on, and you already know we had to break some records. Landing at just over 5 hours, Bebo and Chris hung out with Cee and Nate to catch up on all things Third Moon since 2020, they dug into some newer styles that they've been doing (lagers, smoothies), their brewery and team expansion, how their barrel program has grown, the insane power of Untappd over the craft beer business, their approach to packaging, and they touched on the Ontario beer taxation issue. They cracked six absolute gems - Kills Pilsner, Rise Pale Ale, Midnight Kills Dark Lager, Love Lies Bleeding (Bulldog Comet), Barrel-Aged Kills (2023), and Quintuple Bone Tree IPA, fondly known as Quincy Bones. Epic af as always - we hope you make it through! BAOS Podcast Subscribe to the podcast on YouTube | Website | Theme tune: Cee - BrewHeads

What works for someone else may not work for you. Do the thing that maximizes your value in any given hour. Taking time to do business development will maximize your value long term, not just today. Start utilizing the tools that are out there and embrace that technology…but make sure it is the right tool for your law firm and get the right training on it. It is about doing more than just the tasky stuff. While checking off a to-do list can feel like you're accomplishing things, it is not necessarily moving the needle forward in your business and creating a business that works for you.  "We need the business to be the foundation and then we need to approach the systems and the people in the same way because one thing about a law firm is it's a people-reliant business. We don't need more locations. We don't need more machinery or equipment. We need more people - because people are the real value driver. My friend David Steininger. Dave is the host of the Self Employment Sidekick show, and he's an expert at helping business owners navigate the less-than-fund aspects of working for yourself. He is also the co-owner of Brerro, which helps businesses design their marketing strategy. Before we get into the interview with Dave i want to share briefly how we met. We're both members in a community called Platform Launchers, hosted by our mutual friend John Stange. John's a pastor who's built several successful online platforms that have created life changing income for his family. I'm telling you this now because next week John is launching a new 8-week course called “How to Earn $250 a day from your own online platform,” and he's going to share the pathway he followed to gradually build and grow his online businesses. Note that I said gradually…because this is NOT get rich quick. I'm not into that, and neither is John. So if you've been wondering if starting an online business is right for you, why not check this out and see if it's right for you?The regular price for the course is $500, which, to be honest, is a bargain for an 8-week course like this. But right now John is offering a 50% discount if you use the promo code EARLYBIRD.  I'm not sure how long that discount will last. So, check it out and see if the course is right for you. If it is, I look forward to seeing you there, and building our online businesses together. And now let's dive into our interview with David Steininger...Support the showFind us online at www.morethanapastor.com.

Maturation of Nucleus Accumbens Synaptic Transmission Signals a Critical Period for the Rescue of Social Deficits in a Mouse Model of Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract: Social behavior emerges early in development, a time marked by the onset of neurodevelopmental disorders featuring social deficits, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Although deficits in social interaction and communication are at the core of the clinical diagnosis of ASD, very little is known about their neural correlates at the time of clinical onset of the disorder. The nucleus accumbens (NAc), a brain region extensively implicated in social behavior, undergoes synaptic, cellular and molecular alterations in early life, and is particularly affected in ASD mouse models. To explore a link between the maturation of the NAc and neurodevelopmental deficits in social behavior, we compared age-dependent changes in spontaneous synaptic transmission in NAc shell medium spiny neurons (MSNs) between the highly social C57BL/6J mouse strain and the idiopathic ASD mouse model BTBR T+ Itpr3tf/J at postnatal day (P) 4, P6, P8, P12, P15, P21 and P30. We found that MSNs from both C57BL/6J and BTBR mice display age-dependent increases in spontaneous excitatory and inhibitory synaptic currents between P4 and P30. Comparison of NAc spontaneous transmission between strains showed that BTBR MSNs display increased excitatory transmission during the first postnatal week, and increased inhibition across the first, second and fourth postnatal weeks, suggesting accelerated maturation of excitatory and inhibitory synaptic inputs onto BTBR MSNs compared to C57BL/6J mice. These early life changes in synaptic transmission are consistent with a potential critical period in the maturation of the NAc, which could maximize the efficacy of interventions affecting social behavior. To test this possibility, we treated BTBR mice in either early life (P4-P8) or adulthood (P60-P64) with the mTORC1 antagonist rapamycin, a well-established rescue intervention for ASD-like behavior. We found that rapamycin treatment rescued social interaction deficits in BTBR mice when injected in infancy, but not in adulthood. These data emphasize the importance of studying brain regions involved in the pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental disorders at clinically-relevant time points, which may offer novel insight into the timing and targets of therapeutic interventions to maximize positive outcomes. In this episode, Rufus Pollock sits down with philosopher, practitioner, and spiritual mentor, Dr. Thomas Steininger. Dr Steininger offers insights and reflections from over 30 years of spiritual practice and cultivation of emergent, co-conscious "We" spaces and practices. Rufus and Thomas explore emergent dialogue, the victories and shadow sides of individuation, and the integral and metamodern movements. Watch on YouTube and view the episode transcript here: https://lifeitself.org/2022/12/08/thomas-steininger-on-emergent-dialogue-and-transcending-individualism/ Dr. Thomas Steininger has been cultivating transformative “We Space” practices for nearly 30 years. He is a philosopher, practitioner, and spiritual mentor and has dived deeply into the practice of meditation and into an exploration of the evolution of human consciousness, particularly the current transition from a hyperindividual “I” culture to a co-conscious “We.” As an authority on cultural evolution and the different spiritual and religious currents that have formed our postmodern world, he brings this perspective into his work as publisher of evolve-magazin, the leading German magazine on consciousness and culture and as faculty at Meridian U. in California. He also co-founded and developed a process of emergent dialogue, an advanced practice in conscious communication. Rufus Pollock is an entrepreneur, activist and author as well as a long-term zen practitioner. He is passionate about finding wiser, weller ways to live together. He has founded several for-profit and nonprofit initiatives including Life Itself, Open Knowledge Foundation, and Datopian. I have personally been in their courses and can attest to the power and felt meaningfulness of this practise. The conversation hovers around the topic of Emergent Dialogue and what it is, as well as the potential it holds to address the meaning crisis which some argue is a core root to our current global predicament.

Bebo and Chris hung with Tiff and Cee to chat about their dedication to diversity, why they got involved in Black Is Beautiful multiple times, how they're helping the deaf community, the meaning behind the beer label and recipe, and how they figured out how to do more. Cheers! About the Link Up season: We're back with a brand new season of BAOS Podcast, and this one is something very special and very close to us.
