From the moment we hear those first notes blaring through stadium speakers, something magical happens. Baseball's walk-up songs do more than just fill empty space—they transform ordinary at-bats into cinematic moments, creating instant connections between players and fans.Matt and Sam dive into the fascinating world of MLB entrance music, exploring how these brief musical snippets reveal player personalities while energizing crowds. Whether it's Francisco Lindor's unexpected choice of "My Girl" that has entire Mets crowds singing in unison long after the music stops, or the bass-heavy swagger of Aaron Judge's "Swag Surfin'" that signals a potential home run, these musical decisions are carefully calculated for maximum impact. The conversation spans from classic rock anthems like "Layla" (Pete Alonso) and "Whole Lotta Love" (Austin Wells) to contemporary hits from Rihanna and Lil Baby, with each selection offering insight into the player behind it. We even venture into international territory with Korean star Young Hoo Lee's electrifying choice of Supreme Team's "Dang, Dang, Dang."Beyond the music itself, Matt and Sam explore the fascinating superstitions surrounding walk-up songs, including Nick Castellanos's strange reputation for hitting home runs during tragic news broadcasts, and how players often change their music during slumps or hitting streaks. With players getting just 30 seconds to make an impression through sound, every beat counts.Whether you're a baseball die-hard or simply appreciate how music heightens dramatic moments, this episode delivers an entertaining look at the soundtrack of America's pastime. Meg looks into Jesse Jackson's biggest blunder. Jessica discovers the connection between Queens' Supreme Team and East Coast Rap.
I have spent a lot of time in my life investigating criminals, drug kingpins, arms dealers, killers, shooters, mafia hit men, you name it I've sat face to face with em, so I know crime, I know gangsters, and I know the underworld. As of late as I look at the geo-political landscape, and the globalization of crime and business, I can only shake my head. Recently I did a film about a crew of kids in New York City named the Supreme Team, they were major narcotics traffickers who fed New York City with crack cocaine, and now the two leaders find themselves in jail for life, which I find on the surface to not be quite fair. My calculation is based on the level of criminality that now takes place in politics and actually has an effect on our lives, which is staggering. That is why recently when I read an article in Vanity Fair, I got angry, I couldn't believe what I was reading, Jared Kushner, was given $2 Billion Dollars from Saudi Arabia's sovereign Wealth Fund.

Kennth "Supreme" McGriff and the Supreme Team influenced the pop culture more than any other black crime group from the 1980's.
The Supreme Team of Queens is one of the most iconic American crime groups of recent times.
The Supreme Team of South Jamica Queens are as much myth as reality. This Supreme Team documentary explores the ways that Kenneth McGriff, Gerald Prince Miller, Lorenzo Fat Cat Nichols and others were used by prosecutors, 50 Cent, and the New York Times to get the particular result they desired... if some usefel fictions were needed, so be it.
In this episode we talk with Bimmy about growing up in New York, being apart of the Supreme Team, his experience in the music industry and the new documentary Hip Hop Uncovered which he is one of the people featured in. It was a great and fun interview, so sit back, relax and enjoy!

This week we reflect on UFC 257: Poirier vs. McGregor 2, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson vs Marcus "Young Caesar" Greer and the First Psychedelic Index Fund with Horizon ETF's PSYK coming to the NEO exchange January 27. We start the pod discussing the insanity of wrestling and cage fighting, undefeated Ottoman Azaitar getting cut from the UFC for bringing some into the quarantine bubble to scale a balcony and provide a 'bag', play-by-play of Michael Chandler vs Dan Hooker where the 4x NCAA & 3X Bellator wins his UFC debut by TKO in the co-main event, play-by-play of Dustin Poirier vs Conor Mcgregor 2 where the Diamond calf kicks his way to sleeping Notorious with a KO, then we get into Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005) plot vs the life of Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, although the story of Marcus "Young Caesar" Greer has a lot of parallels with 50's life but is it an accurate biography, one example the film skipped over boxing in his teens, Majestic is Kenneth McGriff of The Supreme Team, 50 actually got his big break from meeting and working with Jam Mastery Jay, 50's first single 'How To Rob' dissing over 40 artists including his own label end a lot of them ended up responding which caught Nas' attention enough to invite him on tour in 1999, his beef with Ja Rule and Murder Inc may be the reason he was shoot in 2000 or was it all Kenneth McGriff, he then started pumping out mixtapes under G-Unit which got him noticed by Eminem & Dr. Dre where he put out the Get Rich or Die Tryin' album & more... As a youth, Corey Pegues was a criminal. As an adult, he became a high-ranking police officer. Corey, a native of Queens, retired from the NYPD as a deputy inspector in 2013, after twenty-one years of service. We talk about Corey's life and book Once a Cop: The Street, the Law, Two Worlds, One Man in which he opens up about why he joined the New York Police Department after years as a drug dealer. Corey speaks honestly about the poor choices he made while coming of age in New York City during the height of the crack epidemic. He's equally candid about why he turned his life around, and takes you inside the NYPD, where he becomes a decorated officer despite bureaucratic pitfalls and discriminatory practices. Written with the voice and panache of someone who knows the streets, Once a Cop is a credible and informative look at the forces that lead some into a life of crime and what it means to make good on a second chance. Episode 118: BILL SPECTOR + RAULIZM On this week’s episode of the @RoadPodcast, the crew sits down with one of the pioneers in NYC Nightlife Marketing/Promotions @BillSpector (co-hosted by Miami’s finest @Raulizm). Bill explains growing up in Queens with the notorious “Supreme Team” (4:25) and how the mixture of multicultural groups from various classes and professions intermingling at his parties created a different experience from any other party in New York (8:40). He speaks about his close relationship with another pioneer in NYC Nightlife @Jrosenblum1 (12:40) and recalls how he met @StretchArmstrong (26:22) who would have various Hip-Hop acts in the ’90s perform at his parties for free (32:28). The fellas ask about the infamous @Diddy fight that occurred at “Mac Daddy’s” (35:46) and Bill explains his relationship with @RocafellaRecords, Dame Dash (@DuskoPoppington), @IamMarkRonson and the late, great @DJAMLives (43:40). The fellas ask how Bill linked up with @Raulizm (53:56) and what motivated them to invade the Las Vegas scene (1:03:17). Bill breaks down the difference between marketing/promotions back in the day with street teams vs. today’s new digital age of social media (1:27:12). The fellas speak on the deteriorating allure of bottle service mega-clubs (1:32:02) and ask Bill about his new restaurant @SushiByBou inside the @VersaceMansionOfficial (1:42:03). Finally, Bill touches on his love for House Music but questions the ethics of EDM DJs (1:45:07).

For this episode we scrapped the regular format and just sat down and chopped it up with Jimbo Duh Kidd and his brother Loso Lit. Jimbo has long been an artist I rooted for and supported continously and when he told me recently he was putting Chicago in hiis rearview it was only right he come sit down with the Supreme Team and let us know why. We talked about the move, his maturity and what inspired it and so much more realness that reading this description does it no justice. Press play
This weeks episode took us back to the old days at The Ryan Show LIVE in Queens. Valencia Woods aka V-Dot had set up shop weekly at our live events to give cannabis infused massages with her special oil. Her style and technique have rose her to celebrity status which have led to some big name clients and unexpected situations. Kal Dawson of the legendary "Supreme Team" joined us to talk about his experience of witnessing 50 Cent nearly getting shot to death in the same car as him as well as introducing us to his new client, DJ Mama Kim of Love & Hip Hop. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
On this week... It's an all hip-hop show. But! A specific hip-hop show. This one is all about the OGs, rappers, and MCs that didn't necessarily start the Korean hip-hop scene, but definitely took it to the next level but have now paved the way for the current and future generations. Names like Mad Clown, Supreme Team, Verbal Jint, Crucial Star, Epik High, Dynamic Duo, Geeks, etc. are all in here. All these guys can be credited with legitimizing Korea's hip-hop scene in the past few years which in turn has led to the rise in its current popularity and evolution. Not to mention all these guys are still pretty active and continue to put out heat. Disclaimer: In no way is this mix comprehensive, but simply a vibe I was on. So respect the roots and sound. Enjoy! What's going on family!!! Back again with another episode and today you are in for a treat! My bro Jimmie Maggette comes on to discuss his LA nightlife roots and how he transitioned out of the night life, and back into church life. Originally from Chicago, Jimmie talks about his younger brother being drafted into the NBA, being traded out of nowhere and ending up in LA. Him and a friend, Shane Mooney came together to form the promoter crew, "Supreme Team" and went on to bring together some of the biggest and hottest club in Hollywood history. This episode went about twice as long as my normal episode, because once Jimmie talked about his transition from promoter to Elder, we kept the conversation going to the NBA. So today I'm just giving you part 2 where we discuss that NBA, the NCAA, playoff predictions and where Lebron may land. Check out last weeks episode so that you can hear all about his come up from Chicago to LA and getting back into the church. Keep in contact with Jimmie by going to www.JimmieMaggette.com or by following him on Twitter and Instagram @JimmieMaggette. As always, thank you for listening! Please subscribe and like! Retired NYPD Deputy Inspector Corey "Life" Pegues' life is a movie. No cliche. Growing up as a young gun in the crack riddled NYC borough of Queens, Life was one of the best soldiers of the legendary and most notorious Supreme Team street gang. Life talks his introduction to crack, the gun fights and the murders, and the moment he decided it was time to join the biggest gang in NYC, the NYPD. Listen as he takes us through the Dinkens to Giuliani to Bloomberg regimes, what Stop and Frisk really is, and what the fvck is really going on with the war that the police across the nation has seemingly declared against the nation's people of color. We also get some expert analysis on The Abner Louima, Sean Bell, Eric Garner, Oscar Grant, Amadou Diallo and Michael Brown cases. Bonus: Dallas Penn, fresh off his honeymoon, stops by like if he never left.
