Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Buon ascolto!
Why c language is called structure language
Una bella storia, dall'Italia he ci piace.
It was my absolute pleasure to talk leadership, music, possibility thinking and much more with Randy Spencer. For nearly 30 years, Randy Spencer has been involved in the music industry representing numerous Grammy Award winning and multi platinum selling recording artists, songwriters and music producers. He began his career in Scottsdale as a journalist for Billboard Magazine and many well known music and sports publications. In 1995, Spencer co-formed Cadence Communications in Nashville and a year later the record label signed a worldwide distribution deal with Warner Bros. Records/WEA. The label produced a number 1 song on national radio, a Grammy Award winning CD and the discovery of artists such as Israel and Viva Voce. From there, Randy entered the world of artist management representing many well known recording artists including Michael Sweet of Stryper, Kevin Max of dc Talk, Marc Byrd (“God Of Wonders”/City On A Hill), Brian Setzer (Stray Cats/Brian Setzer Band), Jason Newsted of Metallica, Butthole Surfers, Marcos Curiel of P.O.D., Adrian Belew and Phil Sneed from Story of the Year. As a music supervisor, Spencer has represented many global brands negotiating the music rights for worldwide television commercials for Hilton Hotels, Taylor Made, Wienerschnitzel, Callaway Golf, Ryka and Toyo Tires. In addition to consulting for musicians, events and music supervising, Randy Spencer creates partnerships and fundraising opportunities for Alice Cooper's Solid Rock Teen Center's, the non-profit charity created by Rock and Roll Hall Of Famer Alice Cooper.

Senti chi parla. Episode #54 With me on the Podcast today I have Giles Howe, Producer, Writer, Actor, Singer and creator of the musical Soviet Zion. The concept album for Soviet Zion is out now and can be found at sovietzion.com. We talk about making a concept album during Covid, working on a project for 11 years, how it all came about and who’s that barking in the background? More form Giles: Originally from Europe where I worked extensively as a producer of new musical theatre, my talent and close relationship to music has taken me all over the world. I have worked with many industry leaders and maintain personal relationships with influencers on both sides of the Atlantic having worked globally for international companies including Disney, Easy Theatres, Veritas Entertainment, Royal Caribbean and Aria Entertainment. As well as a strong track record of creative innovation having produced many UK and World Premieres of new musicals as a co-founder of The A STAGE KINDLY New Musical Theatre Initiative with West End producer Katy Lipson, I am an award-winning vocalist recognized with two prestigious RTN Awards in 2018 after making my New York cabaret debut as a special guest at the Triad Theatre in Manhattan. This diverse experience on both sides of creating theatre affords me a unique approach. I currently coach private students in vocal performance and stagecraft, myself having performed worldwide featuring in a number of different successful vocal acts including The 12 Tenors, Stars of Opera and Viva Voce and in such legendary venues as The Royal Albert Hall in London, China's Great Hall of the People in Wu Xi, and the Bukanmara Hall in Tokyo performing with icons including Brian May from Queen, Idina Menzel from Frozen, and multiple platinum-selling recording artist Josh Groban on whose Greatest Hits album I can also be heard. Recently, I recorded the vocal hook for a forthcoming trap release!! I have written two contemporary operas: "Turkish Delight": the macabre tale of a scorned woman's revenge, and "SOVIET ZION": an ambitious historical drama about the mysterious Jewish state in the Far-East of Russia. I make a small cameo as Benjamin on the Original Concept Album that I produced, likewise the accompanying release of Selections in Yiddish on which I also duet - both releases available now on iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, and other leading digital platforms. TBJ138: Demondrae Thurman on Sotto Voce, Indiana University AND the Brass Junkies Academy Summer Academy. Demondrae returns to share the origins of Sotto Voce and explains his unorthodox job offer from Indiana University. From his website: Demondrae Thurman is considered one of the stars of the formidable generation of brass soloists. His euphonium playing has been described as “awe inspiring”, and he is touted as “an amazing musician”. Demondrae has a firm international reputation as a euphonium soloist having performed in Europe, Asia and throughout North America. Many of Americas premiere colleges and universities have hosted him as a performer and teacher and he continues to be in extremely high demand. Over the last eighteen years, Demondrae has been an invited guest artist/clinician at many of the world’s prestigious low brass festivals including the International Tuba/Euphonium Conference, U.S. Army Band Tuba and Euphonium Conference and theLeonard Falcone Competition. Demondrae’s conducting career began in 1999 when he co-founded the wind ensemble at Alabama State University. Since that time, he has appeared as a guest conductor with numerous wind bands, brass bands, and symphony orchestras. His symphony orchestra debut came in 2008 conducting Scheherazade by Rimsky Korsakov with the Huxford Symphony Orchestra of the University of Alabama where he also served as its conductor from 2011-2013. He is currently in his 7th season as Resident Assistant Conductor of the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra. Demondrae is also an active chamber musician. He plays first euphonium and trombone in the highly regarded Sotto Voce Quartet which tours extensively. The quartet has released four recordings; all of which have received stellar reviews. Viva Voce!: The Complete Quartets of Johns Stevens won the International Tuba/Euphonium Association award for best chamber music recording in 2006. The quartet has been featured several times on American Public Media’s, Performance Today. He also plays first baritone horn in the Brass Band of Battle Creek, a British brass band comprised of many of the world’s best brass and percussion performers. In addition to his chamber music work, Demondrae is in high demand as a euphonium/bass trumpet specialist for symphony orchestras. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, Atlanta Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, North Carolina Symphony, Eastern Music Festival Orchestra, Oregon Symphony, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. In addition to the Sotto Voce Quartet recordings, Demondrae released his first solo recording on the Summit Records label in 2005 entitled, Soliloquies. It received a 9/9 out of 10/10 from classicstoday.com and he was referred to as “having earned (his) stripes as one of the premiere euphonium players in the world”. Showing his dedication to new music, all of the music on the recording was written for him or with his playing in mind. His second album, Songs of a Wayfarer, was released in 2011. The latest recording, Snapshots: The Spirit of Collaboration, was released in March of 2014. Demondrae can also be heard on recordings with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Brass Band of Battle Creek, and the New South Jazz Orchestra. Currently, Demondrae is Professor of Music at Samford University where he teaches low brass and conducting while serving as conductor of the wind ensemble and Director of Graduate Studies. Demondrae Thurman is a Miraphone Performing Artist and plays exclusively the Miraphone 5050 Ambassador “Edition” euphonium which was designed specifically for him. He also plays the custom “Demondrae” model mouthpiece manufactured by Warburton Music Products and is a Shires Trombone Performing Artist. ___________________________________________________________________________ We’ve been fans of AgesandAges for a little while now (as well as frontman Tim Perry’s previous band Pseudosix) and are excited to have them stop in on the intraffikradio.com studios during their current West Coast Tour. They’re probably one of the only bands we’ve heard capable of pulling off such wonderful 7 part harmonies without sounding like a church choir or a glee club throughout their well-crafted songs. *Please note that this interview originally aired last Wednesday prior to their Spaceland/The Satellite show (w/ fellow Portland bands Typhoon and Brainstorm) so please ignore the constant mentions of that show as it has already occurred. We discussed (among many other topics): their current tour, their show that was occurring that night with fellow Oregon based tour mates Typhoon and Brainstorm (presented by JaxArt at Spaceland/The Satellite ), their forthcoming debut album Alright, You Restless (available 2/18 via Knitting Factory Records), recording the album in 8 days with producer Kevin Robinson (who you may know as one half of Viva Voce), the Portland music scene, their thoughts on Portlandia, What they did on their day off from touring, and much more! They also braved our technical set-up and performed three live tracks on-air (on-web?) to give you a preview of their live shows and their forthcoming album. Those songs were: “These Elbows” “No Nostalgia” “Under a Cloud Shaped Like a Tomb” And believe us, they are even better in person. So, if you’re near somewhere that they might be playing definitely go catch them, we highly recommend it! If you’re near Portland, their official CD Release Party occurs on Feb. 11th at Mississippi Studios w/ Billygoat and Arch Cape. If you’re not, then you’ll have a chance to catch them at SXSW, and also when they hit the road again this time for a month long tour in April with the band Lake.
