Välkomna in! Outsiders – S/T [LP, 2022] Låt: Valium (I Wanna Be Sedated) Ramones på äkta göteborgska! Bubs – Vinden ger svar / Midnight Special [7″, 1973] Låt: Vinden ger svar (Bob Dylan – Blowin’ in the Wind) Bob Dylans Blowin’ in the Wind blir Vinden ger svar på svenska, här i en oförglömlig version av Bubs, vinnarna i Södertälje Barnens Dags talangjakt 1973. Otrolig. Östen Warnerbring – S/T [LP, 1966] Låt: Yeah Yeah (Georgie Fame – Yeh Yeh) Yeah Yeah! Alf Robertson – Polarnas platta! [7″, 1979] Låt: Polarna, ett härligt lag (Kris Kristofferson – Me and Bobby McGee) Under Alf Robertsons wilderness years hände det att han gjorde peppiga låtöversättningar till svenska idrottsföreningar. Här förvandlas Kris Kristoffersons Me and Bobby McGee till ångermanländsk hockey-country. Respekt. Samuelsons – Vilken dag! [LP, 1978] Låt: Det är Jesus (Bonnie Tyler – It’s a Heartache) Bonnie Tylers världshit It’s a Heartache blir i frikyrklig svensk skrud Det är Jesus. Magnus – Brustanta (Dom bästa bitarna 2) [LP, 1977] Låt: Har vi glömt (Jimmy Cliff – You Can Get it If You Really Want) Magnus Orkester drabbades också av reggaefeber 1977. Här har de inspirerats av filmen The Harder They Come och försvenskar salig Jimmy Cliffs You Can Get it If You Really Want, som på svenska blir Har vi glömt. Carl-Henrik Norins Orkester – Carl-Henrik Bossa Novar! [7″, 1962] Låt: Liksom i min bossa nova (Antonio Carlos Jobim – One Note Samba) Sensationell försvenskning av Antonio Carlos Jobim-skapelsen One Note Samba av Carl-Henrik Norin med orkester. Årets fynd? Mira Ray – Sanndrömar [LP, 2025] Låt: Kontakt (Brigitte Bardot – Contact) Ytterligare en busfärsk och otippad försvenskning – Mira Ray sätter svensk text på Brigitte Bardots Contact, skriven av (vem annars?) Serge Gainsbourg. Kon-TAKT! Sky High – Säj nej … till kärnkraft / Säj ja … till livet [7″, 1980] Låt: Säg nej … till kärnkraft (Earl King – Come On (Let The Good Times Roll)) Earl Kings Come On (Let the Good Times Roll) plockades upp av Jimi Hendrix och långt senare förvandlades den till svenskspråkig anti-kärnkraft-rökare av Claes Yngström och Sky High. Gitarrstärkaren är farligt nära härdsmälta. Mia Alasjö – The Old River / Förlåt mig min vän [7″, 1978] Låt: Förlåt mig min vän (The Searchers – Needles and Pins) The Searchers (och många andras) klassiker Needles and Pins i svensk version av Mia Alasjö och Staffan Runius: Förlåt mig min vän. Ttevligt släpp på legendariska etiketten Efel. Dan Hylander & Raj Montana Band – … Om änglar o sjakaler [LP, 1984] Låt: Fjärran står hjulen stilla (Beatles – Across the Universe) Dan Hylander och Raj Montana Band under deras imperial phase. The Beatles Across the Universe, försvenskad till Fjärran står hjulen stilla.

In 2024, the University of New South Wales (UNSW) held a panel discussion on Degrowth as part of their Centre for Ideas series. The panellists were Tommy Wiedmann (Professor of Sustainability Research), Bronwen Morgan (Professor of Law and member of NENA), and Sabrina Chakori (CSIRO researcher). The discussion was hosted by former Deputy Lord Mayor and author of Glimpses of Utopia, Jess Scully. The panel explored sustainability and the urgent challenge of ensuring human needs are met without compromising a sustainable and inclusive future. With the kind permission of UNSW Centre for Ideas, the recording of this panel discussion is now available to listen to on the Post-Growth Australia Podcast (PGAP). Tommy Wiedmann has been a supporter of PGAP since our early days in 2021, so it was great to hear him in his element, sharing his research, knowledge, and ideas on Degrowth. We really appreciate Tommy and panel host Jess Scully giving PGAP a shout-out towards the end of the talk. We hope to return the favour by sharing this insightful discussion, which serves as an excellent introduction to Degrowth for those new to the topic. It is encouraging to see Degrowth becoming an openly discussed subject in Australian universities. Tommy also wrote a very encouraging review for PGAP on Apple Podcast (https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/post-growth-australia-podcast/id1522194099). We warmly invite you to add your review. This will help to broaden our outreach and encourage new listeners. Please also feel welcome to contact us (https://pgap.fireside.fm/contact) with your feedback or suggestions for future episode topics. Co-hosts Mark Allen (https://holisticactivism.net/) and Michael Bayliss (https://michaelbayliss.org/)share their thoughts on the panel discussion in the introduction and conclusion. For the most part, we align with the perspectives of the four panellists, but we also provide additional thoughts on how the Degrowth movement can incorporate concerns around population, which we briefly touch on in our commentary. For a more in-depth analysis, we encourage you to read the PGAP blog: “To populate or not to populate? How we can come together around the eternal debate of everyone's favourite vexed issue. (https://pgap.fireside.fm/articles/population)” We also encourage listening to two recent PGAP episodes on population, including Anne Poelina (https://pgap.fireside.fm/annepoelinapatron), who brings a First Nations' perspective to the debate, and Isaac Kabongo (https://pgap.fireside.fm/isaaceco), who brings a Ugandan/Global South perspective. Regarding the discussion on population, Tommy cited two particularly relevant scientific articles, which are well worth reading: Lamb, W. F., Wiedmann, T., Pongratz, J., Andrew, R., Crippa, M., Olivier, J. G. J., Wiedenhofer, D., Mattioli, G., Khourdajie, A. The original podcast of this discussion is available to listen to on the Centre for Ideas website HERE. (https://unswcentreforideas.com/article/degrowth) All views, opinions, and legacies—past and present—of the panellists and UNSW Centre for Ideas are their own and may not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of PGAP (and vice versa).
L'altro portacolari azzurro dell'Esercito, allenato da Piero Incalza, Neka Crippa corre il quarto tempo all time in Italia, 2h07'35''. UL football analyst Chris Lanaux, aka Crippa, joined Scott to breakdown the team's win over Georgia Southern, what a bowl berth means to a player, and more. Plus, hot takes on Hubig Pies, people who buy blue check marks on Twitter, the Pelicans, and the Saints.
Home, they used to say, is where the heart is. Now it's also where people do an enormous amount of shopping. We learned all about this in the most recent installment of our *Consumers Unmasked* report, and our experts—Jen Jones, the Chief Marketing Officer at commercetools, and Mario Crippa, Head of the Physical Experience Practice EMEA at EPAM Continuum—employ these insights to fuel an animated conversation with *Resonance Test* producer Ken Gordon. The group talks about a number of relevant issues including how small local retailers are transitioning in the post-pandemic world. “Many local retailers built strong relationships with their customers and their communities throughout the pandemic,” says Jones adding that they must be sure to “build on that and extend that relationship into our post-pandemic world” because “We all know that consumers have very short memories.” This is seconded by Crippa, who says that after the pandemic, “We all need a little a little bit of human touch, some human contact,” and that small local business are well-positioned to reach out. They definitely have the ability “to come up with better propositions or sharper positions,” to “show off their values, what they believe in.” As an example, Jones talks about a local restaurant that sold curbside family pickup meals during the pandemic: ”They've sort of shifted that to a pick-up-on-your-way-home-from-work [offering] and have a nicely prepared meal with instructions.” Jones and Crippa think through the falling value of being able to physically view products. Crippa says “the entire way to create desire has changed,” with the advent of product drops and the continuous digital campaigns consumers encounter. “People just click ‘buy.' They feel like they're missing out, so they buy. They buy immediately.” Jones suggests that smart online retailers employ a combination of “emerging technologies, which are continuing to improve and evolve, plus great customer service” and that together this “can basically eliminate the need to see something in person.” The conversation also looks at how Amazon—“one of the very few companies that is basically a bank of consumers desires,” Crippa says—has been approaching home shopping (“They're testing, testing, testing to see what sticks and then rolling it out to a bigger market,” says Jones). They even touch on gaming. Says Jones: “people are leaving their houses again doing other things like concerts and travel; that would take you away from being at home gaming.” So many insights, at no cost to you! Bring them into your home. Just hit “play.” Host: Alison Kotin Engineer: Kyp Pilalas Producer: Ken Gordon

From 1667 to 1676, a pivotal controversy played out among several mathematical luminaries of the time, partly in the proceedings of the Royal Society but partly in private correspondence. The controversy concerned whether an infamous problem of Ancient Greek geometry, the quadrature of the central conic sections (better known as squaring the circle), could be solved using the classical tools of straightedge and compass. While its impossibility would not be rigorously proven for two more centuries, the theoretical and philosophical implications of these attempts to settle the issue were constitutive of the contemporaneous development of calculus. Dr. Davide Crippa's book The Impossibility of Squaring the Circle in the 17th Century (Birkhäuser, 2019) is a deep dive into this little-covered episode in the modern European history of mathematics. He examines the advances of Gregory and Leibniz in full mathematical detail, clarifying in current notation and elegant figures the steps and missteps of their constructions and arguments, and in some cases through the lens of critical and often fierce exchanges with their peers, including recently-published correspondence that traces the former's influence on the latter's efforts. The book reveals The Impossibility of Squaring the Circle in the 17th Century to have been a sensation of its time, and deserving of a treatment of its own.
