Mayakrishnan Chakkarapani, Senior Director of Software Engineering at Salesforce, shares interesting insights on how his organization uses Agile to meet business goals and empower developers while doing so. Sign up to the Level-up Engineering newsletter! In this interview we're covering:Agile in SalesforceSome benefits of implementing Agile What to keep in mind when implementing AgileHow to empower developers when following AgileSetting up and managing virtual teamsExcerpt from the interview:"View your organization as a doctor and your customers as patients; getting your customers' desired business outcomes means you treated a patient. If one of your patients needs surgery, you need to focus on ensuring they recover as quickly as possible. Agile is nothing but an operational procedure ensuring you're doing the operation methodically and iteratively. It means you're running a diagnosis first, then you come up with various techniques, and finally, you perform the operation the best way possible. But just because you have a thorough pre-surgery process, it doesn't mean you can neglect postoperative care. You still have to monitor the patient, and if something seems off, you have to do the process all over again. A lot of times, I've seen people taking Agile for granted, thinking it'll solve everything on its own without thinking about the culture or empowering their teams. It leads them to just force people to do more, causing lots of engineers to burn out eventually. What happens with these dysfunctional organizations is that the operation may succeed because they followed Agile, but the patient still died."

The legislation was written by a think tank financed by a billionaire donor to Ron DeSantis, and it's being pushed by lobbyists for chain restaurants like McDonald's, Burger King, Outback and Olive Garden. It's the latest example of billionaire-backed foundations and big-business front groups joining forces to squeeze working families in Florida.  Further Reading:* House Bill 49 — Employment and Curfew of Minors* Washington Post: The conservative campaign to rewrite child-labor laws* Seeking Rents: A billionaire-backed think tank keeps sabotaging Florida workers. Big Corporations that are forcing our healthcare workers (the heroes that are saving lives) to work unsustainable workloads is not a long term, ethical or sustainable solution to creating more corporate profits, its actually doing the opposite. We all know that stress, burnout and even suicide rates are at all time high when it comes to our healthcare providers. Big hospital groups in their search for more and more quarterly profits try to save money by forcing people to work more and more. But what it really does is push more healthcare workers to either leave medicine or adopt locum tenens work to create a better work & life balance, which also costs hospitals more. In this episode I'll be talking about the 2 biggest reasons why locum tenens has grown at a 27% growth rate over the last several years. There has been a huge generational shift on what is important to us when it comes to having success in our careers and lives. Generation Z and Millennials are craving more flexibility and freedom at the same time where Boomers are ready to exit the practices that they've held for 20, 30 and 40 years to have more freedom. I believe locum tenens work will force change in the healthcare system one way or another; but either way, you have the option to live your life on your terms. In this episode I mentioned this article which I believe needs to be shared: https://nurse.org/articles/nurse-died-by-suicide-letter-to-abuser/ If you are a general, trauma or vascular surgeon and you'd like to set up a 30 minute no pressure strategy session where we can talk about locum tenens as a pathway to better flexibility, freedom and income, you can book a call here: https://calendly.com/simonwparsons/physician-strategy-session

Aila Wang is a part of the New Federal State of China founded by Miles Guo and Steve Bannon. She joins this episode of The Jeff Dornik Show to discuss a wide variety of topics related to the Chinese Communist Party. It's recently been discovered that there's a CCP covid lab in California. While that's shocking, what's even worse is that our own government funded it with our taxpayer dollars. What's important to understand, according to Wang, is that 99% of the Chinese people just want to be free, but they've been essentially kidnapped by the Chinese Communist Party and persecuting them horrendously. Unfortunately, the American government and Big Corporations have largely turned a blind eye to this atrocity that includes having concentration camps and even organ harvesting. Just follow the money, and you'll see why so many influential people choose to stay silent about these human rights violations. However, we have seen the New Federal State of China gain ground and receive support from some politicians and more influential people. The freedom movement is gaining ground, but now it comes down to needing to completely cut off all ties from the CCP. One of the things that we can each do is stop buying products made in China. Our businesses need to do the same. Our government needs to enforce sanctions and cut all ties with the CCP until China can be reformed… and that includes economic ties and our trade agreements. Big Media, Big Tech, the Biden and Obama administration, and Big Corporations all believe that Christianity and its worldview are oppressive and must be destroyed in order to liberate Americans. Therefore, any action used to destroy is seen as moral, no matter how immoral, unlawful, or unconstitutional it may be. Americans are "taught" that government regulations (beyond the punishment of force or fraud) are necessary. Yet, the more government "rules" there are (and there are more than can even be enforced) the more the citizens find out that the regulations are largely an illusion. Whether it's "vaccines" or banking, or any other major debacle; it's time to put an end to the tool that Big Corporations use to create extraordinary advantages for themselves. It's time that Big Corporations have no choice but to compete in a free market. Unlike politicians and bureaucrats, the free market can't be bribed, bought or lobbied. Big Corporations hate the free market, and they're very pleased that the average American is "taught" to hate it too.
