Aztán pár napja Müller Péter is őt emlegette a legutóbbi kávézásunk során. Brasch Bence a Vígszínház megbecsült tagja, legalább 10-11 futó darab szereplője, különböző sorozatok főhőse, most pedig szupersztár is a Sztárbox győzelmek okán. Ő lett a férfi nehézsúly bajnoka.
Literaturfest vom 9.

Joanne Brasch, PhD, is a textiles lecturer and Special Project Manager for the California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC), an NGO specializing in Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Dr. Brasch also holds two appointments with the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). In this episode, Dr. Brash outlines SB 707, a first-of-its-kind EPR textile recycling and repair program that has been introduced in California. SB 707 would require producers to implement an end-to-end system that would reduce textile waste going to landfills and promote a circular economy in the state. Dr. Brasch also shares tips for reducing textile waste at home and what not to put in your recycling bin. Plus, she shares our favorite fashion love story to date! The fashion industry contributes to roughly 10% of all global carbon emissions (releasing 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year). It is also the world's second worst offender in terms of water and plastic pollution, seeing that the majority of our clothes are made from plastic and contribute to microplastic pollution. In this show, our guest Dr. Joanne Brasch, Special Projects Manager for California Product Stewardship Council, walks us through the current state of disposal, shares what prime solutions must exist, and how their organization and others are pushing on policies and legislation that will hold manufacturers accountable, create transparent industry practices, and address social and environmental justice concerns. It is estimated that 100 billion garments are produced each year, while 92 million tons end up in landfills. That is the equivalent of one trash truck full of clothes being dumped into the landfill every second. In 7 years, it is expected that the 92 million discarded tons will increase upwards of 148 million tons according to Fashion Revolution. In the United States, wasted clothing and textiles make up almost 8% of all landfill waste. Many times, textile waste isn't recycled due a complex web of issues from mixed material types to lack of sorting and processing infrastructure. Undesirable clothing donated to thrift stores or dropped off in parking lot collection bins could very well be disguised as second hand clothing that is exported to and dumped on other countries, such as Ghana, Kenya, Chile and more. A recent documentary revealed that 300m items of junk plastic clothing from around the world are dumped in Kenya every year. So what needs to happen to turn the tide on the textile dilemma? LISTEN TO THE EXTENDED INTERVIEW: https://www.patreon.com/posts/joanne-brasch-of-79723489 Dr. Joanne Brasch holds a PhD in Textile Economics and Environmental Analysis from the University of California, Davis, where she also received a Master's degree in Textile Science and a Bachelor's degree in International Agricultural Development. She currently works as Special Project Manager at the California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC) [https://www.calpsc.org/textilestewardship] and has worked for its national spinoff, the National Stewardship Action Council (NSAC). Dr. Brasch is appointed by the state agency CalRecycle to two advisory committees for carpet and mattress recycling where she serves as the chair on both. She made Waste360's 2021 “40 under 40” awardees list. Jessica Aldridge, Co-Host and Producer of EcoJustice Radio, is an environmental educator, community organizer, and 15-year waste industry leader. She is a co-founder of SoCal 350, organizer for ReusableLA, and founded Adventures in Waste. She is a former professor of Recycling and Resource Management at Santa Monica College, and an award recipient of the international 2021 Women in Sustainability Leadership and the 2016 inaugural Waste360, 40 Under 40.
Lawyers are the “custodians of the rule of law”, and in a looming new normal, such professionals have to ensure their pushes for change, and acts of service to the community, are in keeping with a landscape that will be vastly different to pre-pandemic conditions. In this episode of The Lawyers Weekly Show, Law Council of Australia president Dr Jacoba Brasch QC joins host Jerome Doraisamy to discuss the vision of LCA in 2021 as Australia enters a post-pandemic world, and why issues such as digital poverty, government powers and social justice are such primary concerns in the immediate future. Dr Brasch also delves into the changing nature of advocacy in the courts, evolutions to legal workplaces and reinforcing the fundamental importance of the rule of law in the midst of such extraordinary times. Before ending her first career 14 years ago as an award winning journalist, Phyllis Brasch Librach became inspired to trade deadlines for hemlines. She wanted to take the tears out of shopping for her daughter and all daughters, mothers, sisters, aunts and friends with real curves. In a world where thin is too in, Librach found it unfair that millions of teens and women were fashion-starved for stylish plus-size dresses to wear to life's most important celebrations. Today, Librach is the leading plus size special occasion dress designer and online retailer for Prom, Wedding, and Formal gowns. Over the last decade, Sydney's Closet and its retail partners throughout the United States, Canada, South America, Europe and Australia have dressed tens of thousands of plus-size teens and women. This internationally recognized company continues to set the bar for extraordinary plus-sized fashion. Librach said “Our glam prom and bridal designs have been seen on the dance floors in high school gyms for Prom and Homecoming, on celebrities walking the red-carpet in Hollywood and going down the aisle of churches and beaches.” The Story Behind Sydney's Closet In the beginning, Phyllis was just a mother anxious to wipe away her teen-age daughter's tears. Her teen-age daughter Mickey cried when she failed to find a plus-size prom dress. It broke Phyllis' heart and made her very mad! In a world where thin is too in, Phyllis found it unfair that millions of teens and women like her daughter were fashion-starved for dressy plus-size dresses to wear to life's most important celebrations. The reality is that one in every four high school girls in the U.S. wears a size 14 or larger. And when it comes time for once-in-a-lifetime nights like Prom and Homecoming, she doesn't want to hide her curvy figure under shapeless muumuus or evening gowns that grandma would wear. She wants a frock that rocks! (And she deserves one!) In this episode, you'll learn: The personal passion and business opportunity that lead to the start of Sydney's Closet The behind the scenes of the 18 month design and development process for each Sydney's Closet collection The details that Phyllis pays attention to when designing gowns for a plus-size figure What a typical day during a factory visit trip looks like for Phyllis How Phyllis found her first factory Why the Michelle Bridal and Tease Prom lines are only sold wholesale How the wholesale and direct to consumer lines balance and inform each other How Phyllis has seen the plus-size fashion industry change in the past decade since she started Sydney's Closet What has made Phyllis' design partnership with Johnathan Kayne so fun and successful People and resources mentioned in this episode: Sydney's Closet website Michelle Bridal website Tease Prom website Johnathan Kayne for Sydney's Closet collection Sydney's Closet email Sydney's Closet on Instagram

GUESTSAbbie Brasch is a mental health advocate and soon-to-be clinical massage therapist who created the 365 day Mental Health Daily Journal.Dakota Sillyman is a filmmaker and the creator of the mental health podcast, Cope.OVERVIEWBrownTown shares virtual space with Abbie Brasch and Dakota Sillyman, multi-talented friends of SoapBox and mental health advocates who create resources and media for learning and navigating mental health on all levels. Abbie discusses the impetus of her journal, how it helped her and is now helping others while Dakota discusses how Cope is positioned as a digestible entry-way to various aspects of mental health. The group takes a step back to examine common resources for mental health and issues with how it is often discussed in mainstream circles. With this, Abbie breaks down her recent article on an episode of Community that dealt with mental health medication as David question the role of big pharma. On media, BrownTown and company take on how mental health shows up and the responsibility of creators/audiences in films such as It's Kind of a Funny Story (2010), The Ringer (2005), Waterboy (1998), A Star is Born (2018), and Joker (2019).Enter institutions, capitalism, social media, and community care: Dakota delivers a brief history of mental health institutional funding and policy (peep Community Mental Health Act of 1963) and progressive/grassroots struggles in Chicago (peep STOP Chicago, Healing Village). Lastly, the group elaborates on the intersections of it all and how we value (or devalue) mental health from a societal, individual, and interpersonal standpoint, especially under the COVID-19 pandemic.-- Follow Abbie's work on Instagram, Medium, and her Soul Speak Books website where you can purchase a journal!Follow Dakota on Twitter, Instagram, and his website DakotaSillyman.com.
