We're excited to welcome John North, the Australia National Director for Ambassadors for Christ International, to share from Acts 13:44-52, “The Turn.” Though Paul and Barnabas make it their mission to preach the gospel first to Jews in the synagogues, wherever they go, in Pisidian Antioch they experience extreme opposite responses to their message. Some Jews and devout Gentiles believe that Jesus is the Messiah—others band together to drive them from the city. Was this part of God's plan? Join us this weekend as we watch the gospel turn to the Gentiles!

Aaron Bolduc is currently an evangelist with Ambassadors for Christ International (AFCI). Previously, Aaron served as a pastor in West Michigan for nearly 15 years. He has also served with Dare2Share, a national youth evangelism ministry.  Aaron's current ministry of Ambassadors for Christ International has a vision of bringing revival in the church, evangelism through the church, and training for the church. Through his ministry, Aaron works with local churches by providing evangelism training, pulpit supply, and the coaching of pastors. Aaron also serves as a conference speaker.  Aaron is married to Emily and, together, they have four children and now make their home in Hudsonville Michigan.  In this podcast, Aaron shares about the importance of evangelism for all true Christ-followers. While we don't all have the spiritual gifting of evangelists, we are all called to be salt and light and share the Word to those who don't yet know the Lord. Remember how Jesus, just before His ascension, said to ALL the disciples “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)  Aaron also shares briefly how he came to faith in Christ and how God called him as an evangelist. He also helps us understand the seeming paradox in evangelism: is it God's role or man's role to lead someone to faith in Christ? Answer: both have a role to play! The burden is on God, but He uses us to do His work for His glory. And prayer is so critical in all this.  Finally, Aaron talks about his ministry, Ambassadors in Christ International, in which he helps encourage and train pastors to equip their members so they can better share their faith with others.

Sharing the gospel is scary and is awkward. But take a couple deep breaths, don’t freak out, and check out this conversation between Perry and Aaron Bolduc about how to lean into the awkward and the awesome of sharing Jesus. Aaron Bolduc, serves with Ambassadors for Christ International. He’s really gifted at sharing the good news and he’s also really gifted at coaching us up to share Christ. First, what do you do if you’re not gifted at sharing your faith? Then, how in the world do get into conversations about Jesus?—Ask, admire, and admit. Next, a non-negotiable in winsomely sharing Christ: Humility! Then, a challenge, and this isn’tmeant to guilt you, but here goes—are you ashamed of the gospel? (There’s grace here cause God still loves you!) Next, how do you share Jesus with someone who’s strongly opposed to him?? Then, what do you say to somebody who thinks they know Jesus, but they probably don’t? Next, Lucy, a Perry and Shawna Mornings listener is getting ready for a cross-country trip to share the gospel and wonders how she can make the most of her missionary journey! And last, how to prepare yourself to share the hope you have in Jesus! If you want coaching to share your faith, Aaron would love to have coffee with you or come to your church. The #1 reason? We think we need to win our friend to Jesus the first time we share our faith with them. Not true! Aaron Bolduc is a gifted evangelist who works with Ambassadors for Christ International. Aaron joins us to shatter the myths you may have about sharing Jesus. Aaron shares about his grandfather who faithfully shared Jesus for years with his brother who kept on rejecting the gospel. But his persistence miraculously paid off. Then Stephanie, a Perry and Shawna Mornings listener asks how to reach a friend who wants nothing to do with Jesus. Chris, another Perry and Shawna Mornings friend asks how to reach the 4 Jehovah’s Witnesses he works with. Next, the day Perry shared Jesus in the sauna with a bunch of teenagers. Then, the one thing you can do today to share your faith. Next, the craziest thing Aaron’s ever done in sharing the gospel. (Don’t worry, you don’t have to do this!) Last, every single person on earth is quarantined from heaven. And there’s only one remedy to get us in. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) might seem like a new concept, but it's actually been around for a long time. It's just that the content has changed over the years, with the fundamentals of today's DEI programs being built on Marxist teachings. On the surface, the resulting structure has the appearance of leveling the playing field. But the outcomes have actually been shown to be divisive. Listen in as Kevin McGary and Mark Griffin come together to discuss an alternative to that script through biblical DEI. Kevin shares information from his book, WOKEd UP! and Mark shares more about his DEI certification program. Together, their efforts provide a standard that celebrates differences and human connectedness in a much more accurate and effective manner. Kevin and Mark also discuss how they met through Pinnacle Forum, which was inspired by Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ International. Dr. Bright challenged a handful of leaders in 1995 in Phoenix, Arizona, saying, “I believe the only way we can change our culture is to find a way to network our high-influence leaders and inspire them to use their influence for God.”   Join Them Here!  Kevin McGary is an entrepreneur, author, and public speaker. Kevin serves as co-founder of Every Black Life Matters (EBLM) and as chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of California. His background, passion, and keen observations about the momentum of dramatic changes in culture and society all shine through WOKEd UP!, the fifth book he's authored. All of his previous books delved into the arenas of politics and theology. But WOKEd UP! is strictly designed to combat the many powerful forces producing overarching influences seeking to detach global populations from positive morals and traditions.  Host Chuck Bryant has served with Pinnacle Forum since 2005 and is currently serving as its president and CEO. Chuck has held a few instrumental roles with Pinnacle Forum, first as executive director of Pinnacle Forum Modesto in California and then on the national board as well as board chair. Mark A. Larry Stephens is a name you are not going to hear unless you are in certain circles. He is a Director at I AM SECOND and CRU's (Campus Crusade for Christ International) representative to Hollywood. Larry has had influence in over 30+ motion pictures and counting, as well as, a new footprint in the Esports gaming world! In this interview we will talk about...   - The current ministry impact and future of video animation and gaming. - A sneak peak into a full length motion picture animation film that no one is supposed to know about yet. (The biggest budget faith based film of its type ever!) - The “Jesus Revolution” movie. (Now available as of February 2023.) - A global initiative paving the way to reach every "people group" in the world for Christ, with assistance of new technology. - The challenges in raising 4 children along with his wife, while traveling all over the world. … and much more!   I got to know Larry because of Amanda (his now wife) who was one of the students in the student ministry that my wife Colleen and I worked with and had the privilege of watching her and her sisters grow in their faith. In Amanda's journey, she went into a ministry called “CRU”, where she was a colleague with Larry for a few years until they fell in love. Once they were married, I got to know Larry much closer. I came to know Larry as an unassuming powerhouse who made world events happen by putting great people in the best places, training students to become leaders for The Kingdom of God, and turning leaders into world changers… literally world changers! D. Brooks. There he was tutored in business management, Church administration, soul winning and baptism. Hundreds of souls were baptized by Bishop McCrea during his stay at the Way of the Cross Church, Washington DC; there he developed a love for souls. Bishop Brooks built and instilled in him confidence in one's gifts and talents, teaching to believe in the ability that God has birth in you. Under Bishop A. D. Brooks, the Lord prepared Bishop McCrea for one of most faith testing tasks of his life, the move to Alaska. In 1993 God revealed to Bishop McCrea by several years of vision and confirmation by his pastor Bishop A. D. Brooks, to start a Work in Anchorage Alaska. Having faith like Abraham, Bishop McCrea didn't hesitate at the leading of God, but moved from family and loved ones to fulfill his call of God. He resigned from his job, packs up his belonging and moved the family to Anchorage. The Church was birth on October 9, 1994 with Bishop and Mrs. McCrea and Children as its 1st members, with Bishop A. D. Brooks officiating and many others from the east coast taking part in this service. The Church has since its birth progressively grown. Bishop McCrea has seen God's miraculous healing power when in 1998 he was diagnosed with cancer. His doctor advised him that without treatment he might survive three year and with treatment he might last five years. Bishop McCrea testifies of the healing power of God and until this day he still lives by the grace of God. The Lord in November of 2006 blessed Bishop McCrea and Praise Temple Church Family to purchase their 1st Worship Facility located here at 822 East Loop Road. Also in 2006 Bishop McCrea and Praise Temple Ministries applied for and was granted by the Federal Communication Commission a permit to construct a Gospel Radio Station in Alaska. Bishop McCrea has also obtained permits for 9 other radio stations in several other states. As the ministry progressed, in 2009 Bishop McCrea began setting up connections in Trivandrum India for the birthing of the Praise Temple International Ministries. After 3 years of planning and working with Bishop Manuel Ahimas in January 2012 Bishop and Mrs. McCrea made their first international trip to India for 28 days of crusade. After several weeks of preaching in southern and central India Bishop McCrea was able by the grace of God to bring into fellowship 72 new churches from India into the Way of the Cross Churches of Christ International. Bishop McCrea now serves as Director of the Foreign Region with 167 churches under his leadership in Africa, India and Haiti. Bishop McCrea is now in progress of starting churches in the Philippines. The Lord has been good to Bishop McCrea and the ministry.

If they made apologetics action figures, Josh McDowell would be one of the figures in the first set. If they made apologetics trading cards, Josh McDowell's card would be in a collectible foil pack. He has toured with the pioneering Christian rock band Petra, and his book Evidence that Demands a Verdict was selected by Christianity Today as the thirteenth most influential Christian book published after the Second World War. Now, he's here with us on this very special episode of The Apologetics Podcast. In 1991, "Losing My Religion" by R.E.M. was at the top of the pop charts, and Timothy was looking for evidence that Christianity was true. That's when two books that Timothy found in a library introduced him to apologetics. Those books were Surprised by Joy by C.S. Lewis and More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell. More than thirty years after Timothy first read More Than a Carpenter, Josh McDowell joins the dynamic duo to discuss his latest book How to Know God Exists: Solid Reasons to Believe in God, Discover Truth, and Find Meaning in Your Life (Tyndale, 2022). Josh also takes the time to reminisce about some of the ways that apologetics has shifted throughout his six decades of ministry. Along the way, he tells about his time touring with the Christian hard rock band Petra. In the segment of the program known as Raiders of Church History, it's a medieval mammal against ancient metal in a contest so violent that you may want to cover your children's eyes while they're listening. The violence breaks out because your intrepid cohosts throw a resurrected lamb into combat against a set of ancient spikes. The contest culminates with a Mediterranean feast, complete with trout and mutton shish-kebabs. ABOUT YOUR HOSTS AND GUEST Josh McDowell is a Christian apologist, evangelist, and author. After studying at Kellogg College he completed his college degree at Wheaton College and then attended Talbot Theological Seminary. In 1961 he joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ International and shortly after he started the Josh McDowell Ministry. Of his numerous books, his best known titles are More Than A Carpenter, Evidence That Demands A Verdict, and Right from Wrong. More information can be found at his website here. Timothy Paul Jones, Ph.D., is C. Edwin Gheens Professor of Christian Ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He teaches in the areas of family ministry and applied apologetics. He has authored or edited more than a dozen books, including Why Should I Trust the Bible? Garrick Bailey is a Ph.D. student in systematic theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, studying Herman Bavinck and Roman Catholicism under the supervision of Gregg Allison. Episode 65—My interview with Mrs. Maureen Hornstein Hello everyone! Thank you for listening to another episode of Childless not by Choice! I appreciate your taking the time to listen in once again. Thank you to my repeat listeners. And if you are listening for the first time, I hope you will come back for another visit! Remember to tell your friends about the show, and feel free to share to your social media followers! I would appreciate that!   Mrs. Maureen Hornstein is originally from a small town in Minnesota, USA. At University, she studied Speech-Theater, Music, and Education. Upon graduation, she joined the staff of a faith-based organization, Campus Crusade for Christ International now known as Cru.   Maureen and her husband, Hank, have spent most of their careers living in three countries outside of the United States. Currently, Maureen is the Women's Asia Strategy Coordinator for the Jesus Film Project. On that project, she works with various media tools that help women realize that no matter what their family or country may think of them; God their Creator, made them valuable.     Was it a conscious decision to work and live outside the United States?   In your bio, you say that you help women realize that no matter what women’s families and cultures may tell them, their Creator values them. How exactly do you convey this truth to women? Is this through your Jesus Film Project, or in your daily life’s journey?      When did you and your husband realize you would not be having children?   Do you both come from large or small families?     Was there any pushback from either of your families when they realized you weren’t having children?   Did you and your husband have to journey to a place of acceptance?     What suggestions would you have for women struggling with childlessness?   To contact Mrs. Maureen Hornstein: Magdalena Today on Facebook www.magdalenatoday.com Jesus film media app     "Empathy is finding echoes of another person in yourself."--Mohsin Hamid.     Stories of note: http://www.the-star.co.ke/news/2017/05/17/we-are-not-barren-or-infertile-we-are-just-but-waiting-wombs-childless_c1557714 https://www.rt.com/op-edge/389574-macron-may-merkel-europes-childless/   My contact information: Website: www.childlessnotbychoice.net and www.civillamorgan.com Facebook: booksbycivillamorgan Twitter: @civilla1 Instagram: @joyandrelevance  Pinterest: Civilla M. Not only is the emotional trauma—and sometimes even physical trauma—often overlooked in these cases, these very same parents are, unfortunately, sometimes even the target of blame. This of course adds insult to an already injurious situation. Our guests are Dena and Tom Yohe. Tom is a former pastor. Dena is the author of the book You Are Not Alone. Both Tom and Dena are Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ International in the U.S.) staff members, and now affiliates. They are also the parents of a formerly troubled daughter. Their daughter is Renee Yohe; the previously suicidal, addicted, depressed, self-harming girl whose situation led friends to start the well-known nonprofit To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA). Renee's life was also portrayed in the 2015 Sony Pictures release by the same name. Dena and Tom live in Orlando, Florida. Their full-time work is Hope for Hurting Parents, where Tom and Dena help and minister to parents who are hurting from the pain of having a troubled child. Why a Ministry to Parents of Troubled Teens Is Important Before parents can properly help their kids, they have to be in a physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy place themselves. This is especially true when their kids are struggling. It's not unlike the oxygen mask that comes down out of the ceiling on an airliner. You're told—as parents—to put the oxygen mask on first, even before your kids. Why?  Well, obviously you can't help your kids if you're incapacitated. I think it's wise to take a closer look at what goes on in the life of the parents of a troubled teen so we can minister to them as well. It's easy to overlook the trauma and struggles of the parents of troubled teenagers. I've seen some terribly torn up and beaten down parents in my day. One of the things I hear more than anything else when they bring their kids to Shepherds Hill Academy is, “This is like a death.” To many parents, it's almost as if they're taking their kids off life-support. That's how difficult it is. But the trauma and grief leading up to a child's enrollment in a therapeutic program is off the charts. That's why it's so important to minister to the parents as well. Hopefully, that's what we'll do today as Tom and Dena Yohe and I discuss the following topics: Who are Tom and Dena Yohe? What is To Write Love on Her Arms? How can parents with struggling teens take courage in their situation? What is the wrong thing to do for a parent with a struggling teen? What is the most encouraging thing a person can do for parents with struggling teens? What is the connection to self-injurious behavior and spirituality? Signs that your child may be struggling. Welcome to The Shaun Tabatt Show! Today I speak with Terence Chatmon about his new book Do Your Children Believe?: Becoming Intentional About Your Family's Faith and Spiritual Legacy (Thomas Nelson, 2017). Here's what you'll learn in today's interview: The Terence Chatmon origin story (00:42 - 02:13) The story behind Do Your Children Believe? (02:14 - 06:35) Why do men struggle to take ownership of the spiritual leadership in their homes?(06:36 - 11:22) 10,000 foot fly over of what it looks like to create a family spiritual development plan (11:23 - 16:37) Are there any potential difficulties or challenges we need to be aware of as we're beginning this planning process? (16:38 - 24:38) How does a family begin living out their plan and keep it front and center in their life?(24:39 - 30:45) What does it look like to set realistic goals in relation to the life stage you're in and how can we establish a work, play, worship, family sort of life balance? (31:52 - 43:16) How will becoming a stronger spiritual leader at home impact our marriage? (43:17 - 46:20) What do you hope every reader takes away from the book? (46:21 - 49:55) Quick introduction to the work of Fellowship of Companies for Christ International (49:56 - 52:56) About the Book:  Are your children ready to live out their faith in the real world? Most parents who value Christian faith want their children to enjoy a vibrant, growing relationship with God, both now and throughout their lives. But few of those parents ever attach this hope to an ongoing plan; therefore, they fail to lay a reliable spiritual track in front of the fast-moving train of family life. This book is a junction point where deep parental desire meets workable design and where timid inadequacy meets Christ's sufficiency. It's where individual families become multiplication factories, exerting a lasting impact not only on their coming generations but even on the culture at large. The death of Joshua and his contemporaries was barely old news in Israel before the people of God experienced a Judges 2:10 moment: “There arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done” (ESV). One generation is all it takes. One generation who stops remembering. One generation who stops creating. One generation blinded to God's real work in their lives who then subtly quiets the expectation of His new work in succeeding generations.  Do Your Children Believe? appears at a time in history when another Judges 2:10 moment doesn't sound so incredibly far-fetched—a day when many people's only real knowledge of God comes from what they've heard and read about, not what they've actually seen and experienced, and when His work is more about the dutiful following of rules than the daily adventure of walking with Him as Lord. Imagine, instead, a generation of your family who knows God with intimate familiarity. Who doesn't just pretend at faith but actually lives it. Kids who can tell you what they believe and why it matters. Teenagers who handle adversity with the resilient joy of godly wisdom. A family who prays together and worships together, growing into young adults who are equipped and inspired to keep this torch ablaze from the moment their own new families begin. This book is here to make that reality happen, written by an author equipped with not only a passion for the concept but also a proven plan for success—a wealth of first-hand personal stories from his wife and kids for how they've put this plan into living action with remarkable blessings in tow. When God puts His power behind families who embrace this kingdom call, on-the-ground change will result in off-the-charts revival. About the Author:  Terence Chatmon, a successful senior executive in corporate America, served in leadership roles with several Fortune 50 companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Citibank, and Coca-Cola, but he was failing to become the spiritual leader of his home. He was challenged by his wife to chart a course for the spiritual growth of his family and children. After much prayer, he took what he knew from his corporate-world success and biblical teaching to develop one of the world's most transformational step-by-step family spiritual development process. Terence is now a family legacy champion, and his family discipleship workshop, Charting Your Family's Spiritual Course, has reached more than twenty thousand participating families and continues to grow. He is the president and CEO of Fellowship of Companies for Christ International (FCCI.org), a network of executive leaders spanning more than one hundred countries. FCCI uses training conferences, personal relationships, and a rich library of resources to equip and encourage business leaders to see their companies and careers as powerful tools for transformational change. A Chicago native and graduate of the University of Illinois, Terence brings drive and ingenuity to every role he plays in life, as an elder at a prominent eight-thousand-member mega-church, a Bible study teacher, and most importantly a husband and father.
