Listen to Bunny's chat to Clare Bailey, wife of Dr Michael Mosley, who has just got back from doing a theatre tour with her husband called Eat (well), Sleep (well), Live (Longer). It was such a success they are now planning one in Australia where their influence has really gathered momentum. They are used to travel, Clare was two weeks down the Amazon working in a remote spot when Michael surprised her by tracking her down and proposed to her. Clare gives great tips for healthy eating, and explains why fast diets and loosing weight quickly is - contra to popular belief - a great way to shed excess rapidly AND keep it off. The faster you loose way the more likely you are to keep it off. Clare explains how game changing fasting can be to help cure over weight patients to cure diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, inflammation, fatty liver, protect joints and other chronic diseases which were thought to be incurable. Clare explains why Ultra processed food leaves people hungry and so we eat more and why high protein diets are good to make you feel full for longer. Bunny and Clare chat about the lesser known benefits of gardening. Dr Clare Bailey is a GP and health columnist with extensive experience in helping people lose weight and improve their health through her groundbreaking work with diet and exercise, as well as being the co-author of 'The Fast 800' series of books. In this episode, Dr Bailey discusses the ways in which you can reverse type-2 diabetes, and how you can improve your blood profiles and lose weight in a safe and effective way. KEY TAKEAWAYS Visceral fat is the fat that accumulates as you put on weight, particularly if you eat a sugary and starchy diet, and wraps around the internal organs, affecting the liver and pancreas. If visceral fat is developing, then you may well be developing insulin resistance. You might not be seeing it in your blood work, but visceral fat can provide an early warning sign. Take a piece of string and cut it to your height - fold it in half, wrap it around your middle, and the double string should meet at the end. This is an easy test for height vs weight. High street fashion giant Inditex has appointed the founder's daughter as its new chair.
