POPULARITY
The power of creating the reputation you want to have.Whether you know it or not, you have a brand. What that brand is, says Lorraine Lee, doesn't happen by accident. “You can either form and create it, or you can let people define it for you.”A teacher, content creator, speaker, and author of Unforgettable Presence: Get Seen, Gain Influence and Catapult Your Career, Lee helps people improve their communication presence and define their personal and professional brands. “Your brand is essentially your reputation,” she says. And while she acknowledges that “it can feel intimidating” to actively steer how we're perceived, her EPIC framework helps navigate this challenge by examining our Experiences, Personality, Identity, and Community. In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, Lee and host Matt Abrahams explore strategies for showing up memorably in both virtual and in-person settings. From crafting "unique and powerful introductions" to honing your online presence, Lee's practical advice shows how to communicate your brand in today's digital workplace.Episode Reference Links:Lorraine K. Welcome to this episode of 20/20 Money! My guest on today's show is Kayla Ashlee. Kayla joins me on the show to discuss how the communication cues (or miscues) that unknowingly are happening in your office can be both positively or negatively impacting your patient experience and thus influencing the buying decisions of your patients. She shared examples of good and not-so-good cues that can be happening across the patient journey—from the moment the patient comes into your office all the way through their optical buying experience. This was a very enjoyable and timely conversation given the relative proximity to the Frankenstein episode I did a couple of weeks ago, because as I said in that episode, one of the investments I would make in both myself and my team as early as possible is good sales and communication training...and this confirmation was an example of why it's so important. As a reminder, you can get all the information discussed in today's conversation by visiting our website at integratedpwm.com and clicking on the Learning Center. While there, be sure to subscribe to our monthly “planning life on purpose” newsletter that's filled with tips and ideas to help you plan your best life, on purpose. You can also set up a Triage conversation to learn a little bit more about how we serve in the capacity of a personal and professional CFO: helping OD practice owners around the country reduce their tax bill, proactively manage cash flow, and make prudent investment decisions both in and out of their practice to ultimately help them live their best life on purpose. If you're interested in learning more about the 20/20 Money Financial Success Masterclass, a course & platform that we created to help ODs become “brilliant at the financial basics,” or are interested in learning more about how OD Masterminds creates space for real conversations, real accountability, and real growth, please check out the link in the show notes of this episode to learn more. And with that introduction, I hope you enjoy my conversation with Kayla Ashlee. And we have numerous historical examples of what happens in societies that find themselves in circumstances like those facing our society today. While it's impossible to say exactly when it will happen, it's becoming more and more evident that it is inevitable. And we have numerous historical examples of what happens in societies that find themselves in circumstances like those facing our society today. Today, we're going to discuss some of the underlying fundamentals that are driving the economic instability, drawing on observations and insight from Michael Burry, who's most commonly known for being the man portrayed by Christian Bale in the movie The Big Short. There's no way around it: hyperinflation is inevitable. And nothing destroys the wealth of a nation like inflation. If you want to survive the coming crisis, you MUST start preparing now. You cannot wait. Take control of the source of your income and invest in your own human capital. Maximize your value to your community. Insulate yourself by creating a network of likeminded, competent, productive people. Jason is out of the studio today, so we're giving you guys a little taste of his other podcast. Where we spend a lot of time on this show talking about politics, economics, and current events, Freedom Accelerator is Jason's podcast focused exclusively on principles of marketing, branding, persuasion, and influence from a entrepreneurial business perspective. Episodes are posted every Tuesday and Thursday, and they're deliberately no more more than 10-15 minutes. They're designed to pack maximum punch for the time you spend listening. On this episode, Jason tells the story of the Pearl King, which illustrates just how powerful and necessary a personal brand is. Now, the term "personal brand" has gotten a little hackneyed, but the concept is more relevant and powerful than ever. So don't let jaded cynics prevent you from learning about something that can help you maximize your own freedom by building your wealth, power, and influence. And remember to sign up for the Influential Communication & Branding Workshop that Jason is doing Feb 26-28. The first half day is completely free, so you can get a look behind the curtain and see just how powerful the content is. But this week is the last week you can get the $300 early-bird discount, so head over to jasononinfluence.com and sign up while you listen to today's show!

Russ Morgan and Joey Mure are the founders of Wealth Without Wall Street. Per their website: "Wealth Without Wall Street is an online community that seeks to re-educate business owners & families how money truly works. Our goal is to teach people how to enhance savings, increase cash flow and create passive income all without the help of Wall Street. The secret to doing this is having your money work for you, not someone else." We talk a lot about freedom here at WPI. When most people hear the word "freedom" they think of politics. But our contention is that freedom is an economic phenomenon. If you want to be free, then you must control the source of your wealth. Otherwise, whoever controls your income controls you. Lots of people use the phrase "passive income," but most people don't even know what it is. When they hear the word "passive," they think of getting money without working for it. And there's no such thing. In order to generate true passive income, you must first invest in yourself. We've been conditioned to spend all of our time and energy investing in other people first. Our entire society is structured around antiquated financial systems that are more directed toward wringing the average man dry than empowering him. Russ and Joey have done the work to understand the secrets to securing financial freedom in an age of uncertainty. And today they're going to tell you those secrets. After you listen to the episode, go to http://wealthwithoutwallstreet.com/stapleton and download their free financial Scorecard so you can get on the path to financial freedom today. And don't forget to sign up for the Influential Communication & Branding Workshop at the end of this month, at http://jasononinfluence.com. As many of us are now working remotely, the need for clarity and influence in our communications has never been more important. Indeed, how can we ensure that we are able to successfully communicate with our remote teams? The answer may lie in the use of a system known as 4-MAT. In this weeks HR Uprising Podcast Episode, Lucinda discusses how, in the absence of face-to-face communication, we can ensure that we are able to maintain sensitivity and empathy when communicating with an anxious workforce on delicate subjects. Furthermore, how using a system like 4-MAT can help us to avoid incomplete and confusing messages. KEY TAKEAWAYS Certainly, individuals tend to fill in the gaps when it comes to incomplete communication. Unfortunately this can result in a spread of misinformation, and raise further questions. The four questions we tend to ask ourselves when presented with change are: Why is change occurring? What exactly are we going to do? How will these changes take place? What if we do this, and what if we don't do this? Communications often come in the form of “What” and “How”, but fail to deliver the “Why” and “What If” sections, meaning that much can be left to interpretation. BEST MOMENTS ‘We as individuals, ask four questions whenever we receive a piece of information' ‘“Why" is such a critical motivator of behaviour' ‘If you communicate effectively, new information becomes much more palatable' VALUABLE RESOURCES The HR Uprising Podcast | Apple | Spotify | Stitcher To book your place on the CIPD Virtual Festival Of Work, go to https://www.festivalofwork.com/book/ The HR Uprising LinkedIn Group How to Prioritise Self-Care (The HR Uprising) How To Be A Change Superhero - by Lucinda Carney HR Uprising Mastermind - https://hruprising.com/mastermind/ www.changesuperhero.com ABOUT THE HOST Lucinda Carney is a Business Psychologist with 15 years in Senior Corporate L&D roles and a further 10 as CEO of Actus Software where she worked closely with HR colleagues helping them to solve the same challenges across a huge range of industries. Todays guest is someone who has entrepreneurial spirit running through him, and has demonstrated this from an early age. When he was 21 years old, he and his brother Scott started a business in direct sales, which they built to over $20 million in annual revenue while still in their twenties They hustled, they worked hard and they achieved great success. And for so many people that would have led to selling the company, to sit on a beach for the rest of your life time, but our guest was different. He believed that he had an ability to lead by demonstrating influence and storytelling to his staff. And more importantly he realised that by demonstrating his passion, enthusiasm, and of course sharing his talent for storytelling and encouragement with his employees, it was a great way to boost sales. And this seems to have been a very astute realisation as he has since gone on to even more success by sharing this knowledge across the world. He has presented sales techniques in over 37 countries in the world, and now with his best selling books The Power of Influence and The Power of Storytelling: The Art of Influential Communication flying off the shelf he stories are going out across the world. And from his home in Utah, filled with his wife Sarah, daughters Andie and Lizzy and sons Tanner and Drew he looks a very content person indeed. So was he surrounded by entrepreneurial parents and relatives when he was a younger man? And what did he see in his brother Scott, that made him realise that he was the business partner of choice? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Ty Bennett.
