This EP features Julien BriseBois the General Manager of the Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning. Under Julien's guidance, the 2018-19 team became the first in Lightning franchise history to capture the NHL's President's Trophy for the best regular-season record. In his next season, the team captured its second Stanley Cup in franchise history during the “Bubble” postseason of 2020 and doubled down on this achievement earlier this summer with a back-to-back Stanley Cup victory. Prior to being promoted to general manager, Julien spent eight seasons as assistant general manager under Steve Yzerman. As general manager of the Lightning's top affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, and the Norfolk Admirals before that, Julien was the architect of teams that reached the Calder Cup Final on three occasions during his tenure. Prior to coming to Tampa Bay, Julien spent nine seasons with the Montreal Canadiens after joining the organization on September 1, 2001, as director of legal affairs. In July of 2003, he added director of hockey operations to his duties before being named vice president of hockey operations on July 24, 2006. In this capacity, Julien oversaw the Canadiens' AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Bulldogs went on to win the 2007 Calder Cup during the first season under his direction. A native of Greenfield Park, Quebec, Julien was employed by the Heenan, Blaikie law firm before joining the Canadiens. He worked in the field of sports law, where he represented several NHL and Major League Baseball clubs in arbitration cases as well as acting as an advisor in contract negotiations. He is a graduate of the University of Montreal Faculty of Law and earned a Master's degree in business administration from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University. Above all of his accomplishments, he is also a husband and father of two boys.

As a divorced parent of 2, David also shares his experience and best practices he has learned from co-parenting. There is a balance we need to find in providing routine, consistency, and flexibility, so that our children can be given the best opportunities for success. Yet sometimes even when we do our very best, a child can still be struggling and there are important signs to look for to protect children's mental health and David shares everything to look for and ask. On this week’s show, we spoke with Mark Maclean, Senior Director @ Montréal International. Mark is the Senior Director of Business Development for the West Coast, Latin America and Entrepreneurship at Montréal International. His role is to promote the Montréal business environment to foreign companies, supporting their set up or expansion in Greater Montréal. Since joining Montréal International in 2016, Mark has supported multiple international AI expansions; including Maluuba (Microsoft), Google Brain, and Facebook AI Research—in addition to supporting startups establish a presence in Montréal. Previously, Mark was a senior manager at EY in the tax incentive group for small to medium companies, with a focus on tech startups. He is a volunteer and mentor at the Foundation Montréal inc. and actively participates in mentoring events at Concordia University. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science from Concordia, a diploma in entrepreneurship from McGill University, and an MBA from the John Molson School of Business. Jordan received his MSc from Cornell University and his PhD from McGill University and joined Concordia University in 2000. He previously headed the Executive MBA program as well as the Luc Beauregard Centre of Excellence in Communications Research. He has developed many successful and award-winning courses including the MBA elective course "Experience Marketing" and the online course "Marketing Yourself" taken by over 20,000 between 2004 and 2017. He is the recipient of the 2005 and 2010 best teacher award in the John Molson School of Business, the 2011 President's Excellence in Teaching Award, the 2011 MBA Professor of the Year award and the 3M National Teaching Fellowship. He was studying to become an accountant, but he quickly realized that the numbers weren't adding up in his favor. He decided to do some affiliate marketing as a side hustle. Without any experience or knowledge of the industry, he had to learn everything through trial and error. It didn't take long for Neil to drop out of university and start a highly successful career in digital marketing. Neil is currently the Director of Marketing at FortNine (formerly Canada's Motorcycle). As the second full-time employee of the company, he played a pivotal role in growing sales year over year.
