12 The word of God is alive and active. It is sharper than any sword that has two edges. It cuts deep enough to separate soul from spirit. It can separate bones from joints. It judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart. 13 Nothing God created is hidden from him. His eyes see everything. He will hold us responsible for everything we do.

Superpowers School Podcast - Productivity Future Of Work, Motivation, Entrepreneurs, Agile, Creative
In this episode, I delve into the concept of overcoming overwhelm and mastering productivity. Mark Struczewski (The Mister Productivity Podcast Host), a seasoned productivity coach, shares his insights and practical tips for leading a more productive and less overwhelmed life.Mark's path to becoming a productivity coach began in his structured childhood home. With parents instilling discipline and structure, he was taught the importance of completing chores and homework before engaging in leisure activities like watching his favourite TV show, MASH. This upbringing laid the foundation for his natural inclination towards productivity. Thanks for reading Superpowers School! Subscribe to support my work. The Battle Against OverwhelmMark believes overwhelm is a self-created problem exacerbated by gadgets and distractions. He reminisces about a simpler time before the advent of smartphones and the internet, highlighting how these technologies, while beneficial, have contributed significantly to our current state of constant overwhelm.Practical Tips for Overcoming Distractions* Exercise Self-Control with Gadgets: Challenge yourself to watch an entire TV program without reaching for your phone. This exercise helps you become more aware of your dependence on devices.* Make Conscious Choices: Decide to take control over your devices instead of letting them control you. This could mean turning off your phone or utilizing focus modes to limit distractions.* Notification Cleanse: Go through your apps and turn off unnecessary notifications. Customize your notification settings to serve you better, not distract you.* Disable Vibration Mode: This prevents the constant checking of your phone every time you feel a buzz, which often leads to unnecessary distractions.* Physical Separation from Devices: If your phone is a major distraction, keep it out of sight when focusing on a task.* Use of Analog Productivity Tools: Mark recommends using a simple pad of paper for jotting down tasks and interruptions, helping to maintain focus on the current task.Multitasking and Work OverwhelmMark emphasizes the fallacy of multitasking, suggesting that it's more effective to focus on one task at a time. To manage work overwhelm, he advises against jumping between tasks. Instead, he suggests bringing a task to a sensible stopping point before shifting focus.Embracing the Journey of Learning and GrowthMark underscores the importance of loving what you do. He believes happiness and productivity go hand in hand. As for staying relevant and informed, he advocates for reading as a daily non-negotiable activity. Final Thoughts and ResourcesTo combat overwhelm and boost productivity, Mark recommends resources like "Tiny Habits" by B.J. Fogg and the UGMONK analog productivity system. He also highlights ReadWise, a service that revisits Kindle highlights. In conclusion, Mark's story and advice offer a practical roadmap to reclaiming control over our lives from the clutches of overwhelm and distraction. By embracing discipline, making conscious choices, and focusing on what truly brings joy, we can navigate the complexities of the modern world more effectively and productively.Chapters:[00:00:00] Introduction: The Shrinking Attention Span [00:00:31] The Age of Infobesity and Overwhelm [00:01:07] Introducing the Guest: Mark Struczewski [00:01:45] The Importance of Human Skills in an Automated World [00:02:02] Understanding the Origins of Our Names [00:03:31] The Superpower of Overcoming Overwhelm [00:04:00] Mark's Journey into Productivity [00:04:31] The Impact of Structure and Discipline [00:06:49] The Influence of Technology on Overwhelm [00:08:56] The Challenge of Watching TV without Distractions [00:10:21] The Problem of Multitasking and Overwhelm at Work [00:10:32] Strategies to Overcome Overwhelm [00:21:01] The Role of Research in Understanding Overwhelm [00:22:51] Introduction to Cal Newport and His Work [00:23:08] Choosing to Opt-Out of Social Media Overwhelm [00:23:25] The Dangers of Endless Scroll Social Media [00:23:44] The Future of Technology and Its Impact on Our Lives [00:24:17] The Joy of Learning and the Problem with Shortcuts [00:24:34] The Love for Physical Books and the Shift to Digital Reading [00:25:21] The Role of Audible Books in Learning [00:27:25] The Importance of Reading and Continuous Learning [00:28:16] The Importance of Reading in Becoming a Good Conversationalist [00:28:51] The Power of Deep Work [00:30:16] The Joy of Being a Solopreneur [00:30:28] Advice for Those Starting Their Career [00:30:37] The Role of Happiness in Productivity [00:32:20] The Joy of Podcasting [00:38:09] The Role of Social Media in Productivity [00:40:08] The Love for Football and Its Impact on Productivity [00:42:59] Conclusion and Final Thoughts Mark Struczewski (The Mister Productivity Podcast Host)Hey! How do you earn respect? We often hide behind credentials, but genuine respect is earned by those bold enough to solve problems, lead with intention, and communicate effectively. On this episode of IMPACT, Meghan is joined by Sam Horn, an accomplished author of 9 award-winning books, an impactful speaker and expert in powerful language who has coached entrepreneurs all over the world. Respect is never demanded, it's earned. How you communicate outweighs what you are communicating. Every interaction either builds a relationship or undermines it. They're not distracted, they're seeing what you're saying.” -Sam Horn “We can either reflect what is happening or we can direct what is happening, and if we are paying attention to the nuance, and to what we do want, instead of what we don't, we often can say something that will facilitate that.” -Sam Horn “In the real world, there are times we are the messenger of bad news, and we can't change the bad news. We can change the way we deliver the bad news, so at least people know that we care, instead of shrugging our shoulders, not my fault, don't blame me, nothing I can do.” -Sam Horn “Richard Branson said, time is the new money. So if we hit the ground running, then people's eyebrows go up and we have earned their respect because we've already delivered value.” -Sam Horn "A huge part of leadership is about listening and reading the room." -Sam Horn “The language we use is so important, as it can either create a sense of powerlessness or empowerment in ourselves and others.” -Sam Horn "The through line from power to powerful and the thing that enables the zipline from one to the other is work on or acknowledgement of your self-worth. And the deeper your self-worth goes, the easier it is to move towards places that make you powerful as opposed to hanging onto power." -Dr. Meghan Walker "When we have a rising tide mentality, power is just defined as the ability to get things done. And if we want to get things done, then the more we enlist people and cooperate with them and make it a win for them, the more they will want to do this instead of they have to, or they're being paid to or they're being told to." -Sam Horn "Our role and goal in life is to be a peacemaker and to see how we can use language and set an example so other people respond in kind." -Sam Horn

Managing your risk is an important part of becoming a successful trader too. When it comes to learning, how can one think more like an investor than a consumer?Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to an extent that it may have a negative effect on health. Infobesity on the other hand, is an accumulation of negative information consumption or "junk learning", where it may have a negative effect on health in the form of cognitive disfunction and in worst case mental illness. In this episode, we cover topics such as some of the fundementals of learning, neuroplasticity, learning through emulation, the half life of facts, the feedback ladder, learning transfer and memorization. We also break down ways to fight Infobesity, confirmation bias, social media bubbles, false confidence, the halo effect and more.Don't forget to subscribe and visit www.learnability.online for additional material. How much is too much information!? we discuss what is the right amount of coaching cues toggle to an online client, nitrating client, or a 121 client learning a skill. or just in life!
Join us as we discuss the concept of Mental Toughness with Lia Zalums from Zedaxis. We unpack the 4 pillars that we need to build to develop Mental Toughness, and the 7 keys to unlock the blockages.
Infobesity. Infoxication. Information Overload. Information Anxiety. No matter what you call it, we're living in a world with TMI: too much information! Christine and Sarah discuss how it's affecting them and how they're trying to manage it all. Plus, a Pulse about gratitude and What's Making Our Hearts Beat!
“We have a philosophy that all emotions are good. It’s about being able to move through those emotions that’s the key - so you can move from the negative to the positive.”This episode is a little bit special because I don’t have one guest, I have two! It’s power couple Desiree and Alonto Mangandog and they’re both passionate about using essential oils, aromatherapy, and acupuncture to help people process and move through their emotions. This episode blew my mind! When we live in our heads and we’re challenged by what Alonto referred to as ‘infobesity’, we can lose sense of the power our senses have to shake up our emotions.Desiree explains how 95% of everything that goes on happens in our subconscious - it’s no wonder it can be so hard to know ourselves - so we can grow and evolve into our potential. But as you’ll see in this episode, essential oils are a powerful tool that can unlock the door to heightened emotional awareness and maturity. That’s because the right oils used in the right situation can soften us, shift the flow of energy, and help us make sense of the way that we feel.“Aromatherapy helped me clear out the noise… So I can listen to myself and follow my truth.”This episode is fascinating - and profound.Make healing yourself a priority, and you inadvertently heal everyone around you. Maybe the most powerful things we can do as individuals is to open ourselves up so we can show up in the world from a place of abundance - instead of scarcity. That’s what essential oils can help you do.So if you struggle to manage and process your emotions. If you’re stuck in stories that disempower you. If you’re tied up in emotions connected to events that happened years - even decades ago - you’ll get a lot from this conversation.Oh and we talk about coffee too :)Coffee is a plant after all and as you’ll see it has some powerful properties that can unlock joy and influence who comes into our lives.I had no ideas how powerful essential oils could be until I heard Desiree and Alonto share their experiences and knowledge. Now I want to know more and more and I think you’ll feel the same. So brew yourself a cup of coffee and tune in. Give me an hour and I’ll give you a whole new perspective on emotional well-being.“The negative gives you the positive. You can’t have light if you don’t know darkness.”Some questions I ask:How did you guys meet? [1:04]How did you get into aromatherapy, essential oils, acupuncture, and emotional healing? [1:54]How can our emotional state be influenced by our senses? [6:31]How do you use aromatherapy to treat pain? [14:18]When using aromatherapy to heal, how much of the transition is due to the oil itself or your own reaction to the oil? [18:20]Give me a story about how aromatherapy and sensory awareness has helped you in your own life. [24:46]What’s the difference between noise and a negative emotion? [29:16]How have your emotions evolved over time as you’ve learned more about them? [33:15]How does emotional maturity tie back to happiness and fulfillment and how does this change over time? [38:52]In the midst of everything you’ve gone through, how do you stay grounded on a daily basis? [51:17]In this episode, you will hear about:The power of journaling to build your awareness and what to write about. [10:17]The three main ways that habits are developed. [11:10]How smell is able to create a vivid emotion and recall vivid memories. [12:30]How essential oils or plants pair with emotions to help transform how you feel. [15:24]Stranded on a desert island? Desiree would want this oil with her. [16:42]How bergamont brings about a shift in perspective to help boost your sense of hope (and why you can’t just take out emotions without replacing them with something else). [17:28]The aromatic benefits of coffee and its associated organs. [21:14]How taste affects our emotions. [23:14]‘Infobesity’ - and how oils can help you find the music and rhythm amongst the noise that you’re supposed to dance to. [28:23]Why all emotions are beautiful and how to gracefully move through emotions. [31:19]The importance of discernment and knowing when to say yes and no. [32:01]Why none of us are inherently lacking - instead, it’s just the stories we tell ourselves. [41:19]Why the subconscious mind makes it so hard for us to change. [43:20]How to contactTo learn more about oils and get involved in the work Alonto and Desiree are doing, visit https://desireemangandog.com.We thrive on your feedback, so if you’ve enjoyed this show, please rate us and leave us a review. Approximately one-third of all Americans are considered obese, and the percentages are increasing. As more consumers look toward diets and other solutions to gain control of their weight, there is another problem, known as “infobesity.” Simply put, there is too much information about nutrition and it’s becoming more difficult to make the right nutrition choices, especially when there is conflicting information. Like any food product, too much information is unhealthy. We’ll talk about what retailers and consumers can do to find the best food information quickly.

On today's Tuesday concept, I'll be discussing the problem we have of "infobesity". This is what I call all the confusing information circulating around about what we should eat, and what we should avoid. I'll be sharing how to cut through all of the confusion.
Wherein we binge on the topic of information overload. How has the Information Age changed our brains and society? How do we stave off overchoice and analysis paralysis? And what happens when all this noise stifles and stymies our creative pursuits? This episode is pure TMI. Theme music by Latché Swing.
