A HASSARIAN BEGS JABBA FOR HIS LIFE BY TELLING 3 SPOOKY STORIES! For ep 118, Mike delves into the latest of Cavan Scott's horror comics; Tales From The Rancor Pit, where 3 horror stories from across the Star Wars galaxy are recounted to the gangster Jabba The Hutt! One features haunted droids during the Clone Wars, the second features monster hunter Ty Yorrick during the High Republic era and the last features Han Solo, Leia & Chewbacca dealing with local creatures on Hoth, set shortly before the Empire attack! Mike also gives information on Hassarians, Cereans, Wampas, LEP droids and more! Tales From The Rancor Pit was released in full on November 23rd2022 and was written by Cavan Scott. Nick Brokenshire did the artwork & colouring for the framing story, which is set between Empire Strikes Back & Return Of The Jedi. Ghosts Of The Machine's artwork & colours were done by Juan Samu, with the story set during the Clone Wars (22-19BBY), Undead or Alive is set during the High Republic Era (before Light Of The Jedi) and has artwork by Andy Duggan with colours by Roman Stevens, and In The Lair of The Dragon Slug is set just before Empire Strikes ack (3ABY) and has art by Rafael Pérez and colours by DJ Chavis. Mike tackled Cavan Scott's 3 other anthology horror comics; Tales of Vader's Castle, in episodes 76, 103 & 112 of SWCIC. IT'S TIME FOR MORE STAR WARS MONSTER STORIES! Mike is delving into the canon comics by IDW Publishing; Return To Vader's Castle – 5 more horror stories with many familiar faces, character information & connections all perfect for any lover of horror & Star Wars! This episode includes Vader, Darth Maul, Asajj Ventress, Tarkin, Jabba The Hutt & B'omarr Monks, zombies, sarlaccs, Frankenstein-like monsters and a whole bunch of references & connections to Star Wars and horror movies! The continuous story is set somewhere in the original trilogy era (between 0ABY - 4ABY) and the other stories are all over the prequel & original trilogy era! The writer for these comics was Cavan Scott and Francesco Francavilla is the artist & colour artist for the continuous story. The guest artists are Megan Levens, Kelley Jones, Nick Brokenshire, Nicoletta Baldari & Charles Paul Wilson III and the guest colour artists are Charlie Kirchoff, Michelle Madsen, Nick Brokenshire, Nicoletta Baldari & David Garcia Cruz. Issues 1-5 were released in October 2019, the trade paperback collection was released March 2020 and the hardcover collection of this & the previous collection; Tales Of Vaders Castle was released January 2021. Planet DIVOC-91, a nine-part series from Webtoon, is an offbeat sci-fi satire about a pandemic outbreak in the far reaches of outer space. But the story goes way beyond that. Each chapter features the work of a different creative team and cover artist and is interspersed with short articles, links to videos, and other pieces of art by young adults about issues related to COVID-19, and mixes from world renowned DJs and Producers. Writer Sara Kenney (who wrote the first part and laid the groundwork for the series) and artist Nick Brokenshire (who drew the second part) join me to talk about the creative process and the different directions aspects of the pandemic that get examined.

Tom Taylor knows his audience, no one can dispute that, which is why his work on Age of Resistance -- General Hux struck a chord with fans of Kylo Ren and Brendol's prodigal son, Armitage. Then, in Age of Resistance -- Poe Dameron, he crafted a great story that tied into The Last Jedi in a near-seamless manner.As for Galaxy's Edge, the mini series that was ostensibly a tie-in to the Disney park, Ethan J. Sacks and Will Sliney took what could have been nothing more than an infomercial into a truly great stand-alone five-issue story that is likely to resonate down the Star Wars Saga timeline.Meanwhile, Charles Soule, along with Terry and Rachel Dodson, showed that a riveting story need not be lengthy, with their one-page Darth Vader appearance in Marvel #1000 capturing Darth Vader in all the right ways. Adam's first foray into comics was editing the Popgun anthology which then immediately won a Harvey Award and an Eisner Award in consecutive years. He still had to face the submission process in a later volume of the anthology and faced rejection. AMELIA COLE is the result of when Adam and his collaborative partners DJ Kirkbride and Nick Brokenshire wanted to launch a creator-owned series with a strong female protagonist. AMELIA COLE is digitally online at Comixology through Monkeybrain Comics; and the collected first volume will be printed through IDW. After they launched, Nick and Adam were able to bring letterer Rachel Deering on board along with several pinup artists.
