From July 1st, prices of some 1500 prescription medicines are set to drop by about 4.5%, due to the Israeli shekel's gains against the euro and other currencies in a periodic review of the exchange rate. David Pappo, Chair of the Pharmaceutical Association of Israel, told KAN reporter Naomi Segal that the price adjustment will primarily be felt by those who pay for the medicines out of pocket, rather than individual who purchase them through their health fund. In surveys, one in four Americans report having to skip their medications due to cost. We asked our listeners: what strategies have you used when you’ve been hit with pharmacy sticker shock? We heard from a ton of you – with stories, strategies and workarounds that surprised and encouraged us. None of them will work for everybody. This is a set of patches and bandaids for a broken system. But if there’s one that’ll work for you, we want to help you find it. So we’re bringing you the most-complete, best-organized set of patches we can. In this episode — the first of two episodes — a dad named Bob tells us how he learned some hard-earned lessons. When Bob’s teenage daughter Mary was diagnosed with epilepsy, it took her doctors years of trial and error to find the right treatment. It finally worked, Mary's seizures stopped — and then, when Bob's insurance changed, the price tag for Mary's meds went through the roof. What Bob did next represents one possible journey through the dizzying (and often exasperating) maze of potential workarounds for getting your medicine at a price you can afford. We’ve started compiling lessons from Bob’s story and others in our First Aid Kit newsletter. Our first installment features a price comparison spreadsheet… inspired by Bob (who we’d like to nominate for Dad of the Year). Here’s a transcript of this episode. Send your stories and questions. In this insightful Market Mondays clip, Rashad Bilal, Ian Dunlap, and Troy Millings break down two of the week's biggest financial headlines that could shake up the markets: President Trump's executive order to lower prescription drug prices and Amazon's strategic acquisition of AMD shares. First, the hosts dive deep into the possible long-term impacts of Trump's new executive order aiming to slash prescription drug costs across the board. They discuss the potential winners—everyday consumers in need of lower medication costs—and the possible losers, notably major pharmaceutical companies that may see profit margins squeezed. The conversation covers how this move could spur much-needed innovation within the healthcare sector, but also draws attention to challenges such as lobbying pressure and lengthy litigation. What does this mean for healthcare stocks like Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, Johnson & Johnson, CVS, Amgen, and more? The hosts lay out possible outcomes and the bigger economic picture, including references to Mark Cuban's earlier ideas about drug pricing and fair access.Next up, the crew unpacks the real story behind Amazon's much-discussed “purchase” of $84 million in AMD shares. Is this a direct investment or the result of AMD's acquisition of ZT Group International—where Amazon already had stakes? They clarify the technical details and examine how this plays into Amazon's push for self-reliance in AI infrastructure and chip development, following in the footsteps of giants like Apple making their own chips. The discussion also touches on how this integration of hardware and internal resources could position Amazon for even more dominance in the AI race and tech industry at large.Throughout the clip, Rashad, Ian, and Troy provide honest takes on market strategies, investment insights, and the political chess game playing out in real time. From healthcare innovation to tech self-sufficiency, this conversation is a must-watch for investors, entrepreneurs, and anyone wanting to stay ahead of the curve on Wall Street.Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more in-depth market analysis and actionable insights!#MarketMoves #PrescriptionDrugs #HealthcareStocks #TrumpNews #Amazon #AMD #TechStocks #AI #Investing #StockMarket #Finance #BusinessNews #MarkCuban #Pharma #EliLilly #Pfizer #JohnsonAndJohnson #Pharmaceuticals #Innovation #BusinessAnalysis #AmazonPrime #WallStreet #FinancialNewsSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/marketmondays/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

President Trump's executive order targeting prescription drug costs does not implement traditional price controls. Instead, it seeks to lower prices through mechanisms such as international reference pricing and increased market competition. The President has actively defended the executive order in public statements and media appearances, emphasizing its goal of making medications more affordable for Americans without resorting to heavy-handed government regulation. Jake Tapper has released a new book offering an in-depth look at the Biden presidency claiming the administration covered up the president's cognitive decline. Meanwhile, he claims, as a member of the media, he didn't play a role in that cover up. Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they consider the latest revelations in the Biden coverup, the Department of Homeland Security investigating whether officials in California funneled Social Security benefits to illegals, President Trump's executive order demanding huge drops in prescription drug prices, and Health and Human Services Sec. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.'s controversial weekend swim.First, they offer a quick reaction to the revelation that Joe Biden's inner circle was hiding his cognitive decline - even from his own staff. They also rebuff Kamala Harris campaign strategist David Plouffe, who largely blames Biden for Kamala's loss. Then it's on to the martinis, beginning with a new Department of Homeland Security investigation into whether Los Angeles County officials provided federal benefits, including Social Security, to people in the country illegally through California's Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants. Jim also questions why California maintains a program that gives taxpayer money to non-citizens, including illegal immigrants.Next, they assess President Trump's new executive order directing drug companies to slash prescription prices by 50–80 percent for U.S. consumers. While they agree Americans pay far more than people in other countries, they warn that government-mandated price ceilings could lead to drug shortages. Jim and Greg then consider some more market-friendly ways to bring these costs down. Finally, they scratch their heads at the news that Health and Human Services Sec. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. went swimming with his grandkids in Washington's Rock Creek this past weekend, since authorities have long warned that the creek's bacteria levels make it unsafe for people or pets to enter the water. The Trump administration has engaged in ongoing negotiations with China to resolve the trade conflict that escalated after both nations imposed a series of retaliatory tariffs. These discussions aim to de-escalate tensions and address longstanding concerns over trade imbalances, intellectual property rights, and market access, with the goal of reaching a more equitable and stable economic relationship between the two countries. President Trump is preparing to sign a new executive order focused on reducing the cost of prescription drugs in the United States. The measure is part of a broader initiative aimed at increasing price transparency, promoting competition within the pharmaceutical industry, and potentially tying drug prices in the U.S. to lower international rates. Supporters of the order argue it could provide much-needed relief for patients burdened by high medication costs, while critics caution about potential impacts on innovation and drug availability.
