Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…   Michelle: Hi Dr Cabral :). I was listening to episode 529 the "Food Poisoning Fix". Would you be able to update what Equilife products you would use for an adult? I think they may have new names/ updated formulas since the podcast. Thank you for all you do!     Lynette: I've really been trying to eliminate plastic from my kitchen (and life) after hearing you speak about the dangers of plastic on several podcast episodes earlier this year. It's just so hard to find safe replacements for everything. What are your thoughts on melamine and silicone? Are these "safe" plastics? Is using a silicone lid on my ceramic commuter coffee cup safe? What about silicone backware? What about melamine for outdoor picnics? Thanks for you insight into navigating the world of "safe" plastics!     Tana: Hi Stephen, I cannot drink tap water without completely losing my mind. I get crazy emotional and unstable. I drink extremely filtered water (not RO). But if I shower with a filter, I lose all my color and muscle and can't even function and feel completely devoid of all nutrition no matter what I do. I have SIBO and I am waiting on a metals and minerals test to come back.     Alicia: Hi Dr Cabral My question is I am reading your Rain Barrel book and I came across the chapter where you talk about medications and quote me if I am wrong but I read that they are only needed in life saving events. I have struggled with my mental health since a teenager. I am 45years old mom with kids that I care for. I have tried to get off of psychiatric medications several times and replace it with natural supplements with little success. It's been very hard and I have responsibilities to maintain. It bothers me to have to take the medications. Do you consider this to be a life saving illness? Any help is most appreciative and I am following your protocols for optimal health!     Elaine: Hi Dr. Cabral, 20+ years ago, when I was in my 50s, I had colon cancer and had 10" of my lower large intestine removed. I've had digestive troubles ever since, although one doctor said the cause of my troubles might be because I don't have a gall bladder. It was removed a few years before I had colon cancer. Now I am in my 70s and am having trouble with neuropathy. My doctor said my vitamin B12 levels were low, so prescribed a high dosage thinking that would help. But the B12 seems to be making my digestive troubles worse. I'm wondering if not having part of my large intestine could be preventing me from absorbing vitamins and causing digestive issues? What would you recommend for figuring out the root cause of my stomach issues and my neuropathy? Thanks!   Thank you for tuning into this weekend's Cabral HouseCalls and be sure to check back tomorrow for our Mindset & Motivation Monday show to get your week started off right! - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3187 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Cabral's Book: The Rain Barrel Effect - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: CabralSupportGroup.com - - - Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept? Dr. Steven Gundry discusses the importance of gut health and its connection to longevity. He explains how the gut microbiome and the gut wall play a significant role in overall health and disease prevention. Dr. Gundry also highlights the negative effects of certain medications, such as antibiotics and NSAIDs, on gut health. He warns about the dangers of weight loss drugs like Ozempic and emphasizes the importance of maintaining muscle mass for longevity. Additionally, Dr. Gundry shares insights on compounds that promote longevity and gut health, such as urolithin A and fermented foods. He also discusses the benefits of time-restricted eating and the importance of cellular regeneration through autophagy and clearing senescent cells. They also delve into the cell danger theory and the role of mitochondria in sensing and signaling danger. The conversation highlights the impact of a dysbiotic microbiome and leaky gut on chronic cellular defense. Additionally, they discuss the use of NK cells to eliminate senescent cells and the gut-brain connection in hormone production and modulation. The conversation concludes with a discussion on reversing health conditions and building new cells with quality material. Takeaways: The gut microbiome and gut health are crucial for overall health and disease prevention. Certain medications, such as antibiotics and NSAIDs, can negatively impact gut health. Maintaining muscle mass is essential for longevity. Compounds like urolithin A and fermented foods promote gut health and longevity. Time-restricted eating and cellular regeneration through autophagy are beneficial for overall health and longevity. Curcetin and prescription medication have been shown to be ineffective in killing off senescent cells in the brain. Autophagy, or cell recycling, is crucial for proper cell function and repair. The cell danger theory suggests that mitochondria play a role in sensing and signaling danger to other cells. A dysbiotic microbiome and leaky gut can lead to chronic cellular defense and hinder cell repair. NK cells can be used to eliminate senescent cells and improve overall health. The gut microbiome plays a significant role in hormone production and modulation. Taking care of the gut is essential for overall health and can help reverse certain health conditions. Personally, I take no prescription medications. I do not take a statin drug to reduce cholesterol, nor baby aspirin. I take nothing for high blood pressure, acid reflux, or irritable bowel syndrome. I take nothing for headaches, pain, or sleep—not a single prescription medication.Yet my blood pressure is typically around 108/72. My triglycerides are 40 mg/dl, HDL cholesterol is 94 mg/dl, and I have zero small LDL particles. My fasting glucoses are in the 80s mg/dl, last HbA1c was 4.8%, my liver markers are all at the low normal range with no fatty liver suggested. In other words, I have perfect metabolic health without reliance on any medication. The majority of the followers of my programs likewise enjoy perfect metabolic health without reliance on any prescription medications. Of course, there are people who adopt the strategies of my program after incurring some form of irreversible damage such as permanent loss of pancreatic beta cells that result in type 1 diabetes, Hashimoto's thyroiditis that results in impaired ability to produce thyroid hormones, or loss of stomach parietal cells that results in absence of stomach acid, hypochlorhydria. So key is to adopt these strategies before such permanent damage is done. People who have incurred such damage will therefore need to take insulin, thyroid hormones, or engage in efforts to acidify the stomach. But barring the development of such irreversible changes, the majority of us on my programs have no need for pharmaceutical medications. So, in this episode of Defiant Health let's discuss how and why, by adopting just a handful of strategies, how you can enjoy perfect metabolic health with no reliance on prescription medications. This episode isn't just a narrative; it's an invitation to a revolution in health care, where the focus shifts from treating symptoms to nurturing the root causes of our ailments, empowering you to become the curator of your own health destiny._______________________________________________________________________________For BiotiQuest probiotics including Sugar Shift, go here.A 15% discount is available for Defiant Health podcast listeners by entering discount code UNDOC15 (case-sensitive) at checkout.*_________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here.* For 12% off every order of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats from Wild Pastures, go here.*Dr. Davis and his staff are financially compensated for promoting BiotiQuest and Paleovalley products.Support the showBooks: Super Gut: The 4-Week Plan to Reprogram Your Microbiome, Restore Health, and Lose Weight Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight and Find Your Path Back to Health; revised & expanded ed

Each tablet or capsule promises relief or prevention from ailments that often accompany aging. But with every promise comes a caveat; medications carry risks and potential complications which may be heightened as our bodies change over time.We discussed prescription Drugs Vs. Lifestyle Habits:When is it necessary to take medication versus when can lifestyle changes improve health outcomes.Of course we talked statins. If you know my work at all you know I am a on a mission to educate people on the harms that statins do and the "high cholesterol leads to heart disease myth."Su shared the very real concerns surrounding statin prescriptions for cholesterol management—potential side effects like muscle pain, cognitive impairment, diabetes risk increase—and stories illustrating why some individuals may not need them after all. Then there are the hot new weight loss drugs like Wegovy, a class of drugs called semiglutides. Su is on the FDA's consumer panel and she saw the trial data--all trial members were men btw--and got to vote on this drug class-- originally created for diabetes patients. Pharmacists are valuable assets in managing drug interactions and can answer any questions you have about your meds or a new prescription. Somewhere between 7 -10 % of Americans are on an anti-anxiety drug.  In 2016, 1 in 3 Americans were prescribed a pain medication!  One statistic I read stated that 1 out of every 5 people who are prescribed a narcotic pain medication will become addicted on that very first prescription -- often just because of a standard order after a non-emergent, elective surgery.  We are a nation of overmedicated people many of whom feel trapped.  For one reason or another, it seems nearly everyone is on something.  If you're not taking any prescriptions, you've become an anomaly.  What are we to do?  We know these medications are harmful to our bodies long term and some are even harmful short term.  How do we get back to "normal" and get off of these meds?  Let's talk about that today.   Now What?  Start here:   Please leave me a written review here - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/cbd-you-helping-christian-women-take-back-their-health-through-natural-remedies/id1655268460 Got episode ideas or questions you want answered on the show?  Leave me a voicemail here - https://www.speakpipe.com/cbdandyou Learn more about us here - https://alararidgefarm.com Limited time offer for 20% discount!  - bit.ly/cbdandyoushow Like and Follow Us on Fb - fb.com/alararidge Got questions? In this episode, I discuss the mechanisms by which human eggs and sperm are generated, the ovulatory/menstrual cycle, the conception process and overall fertility in males and females. I also explain how, regardless of whether you seek to conceive children, optimizing egg and sperm health is directly related to vitality and longevity. I cover the nutrition-based, behavioral, supplement-based and prescription approaches to optimizing egg and sperm health, the ovulatory/menstrual cycle and fertility. In addition, I explain lifestyle choices that greatly assist or harm fertility—several of which are very surprising. I provide science-based protocols for those trying to conceive children. The tools and principles I discuss can also improve overall vitality and longevity in all people, regardless of age.  For the full show notes, visit hubermanlab.com.
