My Hair System Routine | Kyle Weatherman - 030

Hair system care and the associated routines can feel overwhelming when you're already losing your hair and don't feel like you have time to add another thing to your busy schedule. Today's guest proves that caring for a hair system takes no more time than his hair routine back before his hair loss started. This week on HairPod, we sit down with NASCAR driver Kyle Weatherman to discuss his personal experience with genetic hair loss and his decision not to accept going bald. Beginning in his mid-twenties, Kyle faced the challenge of thinning hair head-on, deciding to take control with a solution that worked for him—a hair system.  Hair System Care & Kyle's Routine How much maintenance does a hair system require? In Kyle's experience, it doesn't take much more than having hair grow out of your head. He lives a fast-paced lifestyle (pun intended), and he finds his hair system surprisingly low-maintenance. Since he travels for races every week during his busy season, he needed a solution that wouldn't be too cumbersome. Kyle has a stylist he has worked with who cuts the system and blends it with his hair, giving him a polished, natural look. Together, these factors keep him feeling confident, even on race days. That's right - Kyle's system stays under his helmet in a stock car, where temperatures can climb to 130 degrees Fahrenheit. Tailoring Your Hair System to Your Unique Needs Everyone's hair journey is different because no two humans have the exact same needs. We all have different skin types, hair textures, and hair loss patterns, meaning hair solutions must be tailored to the individual they're meant for. Kyle, for example, sweats quite a bit. Luckily, the stylist he works with determined which adhesive would work for him and offered a breathable lace option for his hair system to keep him comfortable. Finding a solution tailored to you is crucial, and working with an expert hair loss professional can help get you there. Hair Solutions and the Leap of Faith Going bald wasn't an option for Kyle, as he doesn't feel like himself without hair. He is grateful to other NASCAR drivers who have been so open about their hair loss issues and how they fixed them. His wife has also experienced hair loss, and she was a supportive voice, encouraging him to seek options and do something like this for himself. For those who don't have a support network like that, Kyle wants anyone out there dealing with hair loss to take that leap of faith and book a consultation just to see if it's a possible fit. As Kyle's story shows, there's a solution out there for everyone, and sometimes, it just starts with a single step. Resources  Book a Free Consultation today! This episode of On Culture interacts with this piece from The Embassy. Here is an excerpt …From time to time a psychology experiment will enter the cultural attention span - perhaps because we can relate to the findings of the experiment, even if those findings reveal a disturbing truth. One such experiment has been labeled The Invisible Gorilla. The Invisible Gorilla is part of the popular culture nowadays, thanks largely to a widely-read 2010 book of that title. In that book, authors and cognitive psychologists Dan Simons and Christopher Chabris popularized a phenomenon of human perception—known in the jargon as “inattentional blindness”—which they had demonstrated in a study some years before. In the best known version of the experiment, volunteers were told to keep track of how many times some basketball players tossed a basketball. While they did this, someone in a gorilla suit walked across the basketball court, in plain view, yet many of the volunteers failed even to notice the beast. The (Really Scary) Invisible Gorilla - APS - January 29, 2013It might be tempting to think that we wouldn't miss a gorilla walking by in plain sight, whatever we were doing. But, of course, those who missed the gorilla had to be told that they missed it. If you knew you missed the gorilla without being told - you didn't really miss it. The really scary part, named in the title of this article, refers to the ways in which this experiment has been confirmed and extended - including radiologists missing images of gorillas in scans because they were looking for something else. The really scary part is that it names something about all of us. We miss some of the gorillas. All of us do. And, being missed, we don't know that we are missing them. The Zone of Interest is a movie that was nominated for Best Picture at the 2024 Academy Awards and won the Best International Feature and Best Sound prizes. Loosely based on the 2014 novel by Martin Amis, it details the homelife of Rudolf and Hedwig Hoss and their children. I will reveal some things about the movie in this article - but it is a movie that might be impossible to spoil. It isn't really about plot. You know what is happening from the start. It is a movie that really needs to be watched. So - the homelife of the Hoss family: It is 1943, Rudolf is the commandant of the Auschwitz concentration camp and their home is right next to the camp - the wall of the camp forms one of the borders of their garden.  Each day after the family breakfast Rudolf climbs on to his beloved horse and trots through the gate of the camp to begin his work day, and that is as much of the camp as we see - which is set almost entirely in the home and yard of the Hoss family. The Zone of Interest is about missing the gorilla, without really missing it. It is about missing the gorilla while knowing all along exactly where the gorilla is. It is about missing the gorilla by convincing yourself it isn't really a gorilla.…Please read the whole piece. Raphael Fimm is an award winning composer and orchestrator. Originally born in Germany Raphael moved to Vienna where he currently resides.Raphael describes himself as being late to the music world and yet what he has achieved in his life so far is remarkable. Raphael plays piano and it is his first love but also violin too. He found a passion in composing his own music very early in his career and this has led to the genius we are lucky to have today.Raphael was lucky to secure a scholarship at the SET school of entertainment and technology but also studied at the Berklee College of Music where his skills and knowledge on film scoring grew deeper and is demonstrated in his current projects and awards.Film scores have been a big part of Raphael's career and he has received many nominations including one for LE CONSTRUCTEUR DE MALHEUR (2015) for which he received a nomination at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards and the multi-award-winning Canadian documentary THE SUNRISE STORYTELLER (2017) which premiered at the UN in New York. In January 2021, Raphael won the award for Best Score at the Hollywood Art and Movie Awards for his soundtrack on the German cycling documentary TOUR DU TOGO.Raphael was an absolute joy to chat to and his work on the Fire Cats Movie is incredible. He has created some beautiful pieces to accompany various scenes during the movie. We chatted about how the creations took place, the process and I gained some understanding into his work and how everything comes together. Raphael has a love for cats too and really got involved emotionally with the many Fire Cats he learned about during the making of this piece of art. We are also lucky to listen to a piece of music on this episode called "The Last Farewell" which Raphael composed for his beloved cat Sonja who passed away at the age of 23. Thank you so much Raphael for sharing this with us! It is a beautiful and moving piece of music and I cry every time I hear it knowing the sentiment behind it. On this week's episode we share the story of another adventure badass, this time turning a spotlight on Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen. But first, we talk adventure news with updates from K2, a new long-distance biking route across the U.S., and a 52-day Antarctic expedition that just wrapped up. Later, Dave and Kraig talk about some of the other gear they saw at Winter Outdoor Retailer that was impressive, but didn't earn a coveted gear Adventure Podcast award. We love us some new technology, and we certainly give it its fair shake on today's episode of the Pocketnow Weekly. But every so often, you need to give a little lip-service to the tech of days gone by. The platforms and devices of yesteryear. That's right: I'm talking about dead technology. It makes sense, then, that a man going by the twitter handle DeadTechnology is here to help us dust off those fond memories. In his inaugural visit to the Pocketnow Weekly, our own Adam Doud pulls back the veil of public apathy secrecy surrounding the phenomenon of the "webOS meetup," a regular gathering of Palm holdouts, and tells us what it's like to get some time up-close and personal with those unicorns of the webOS world, the TouchPad Go and the Windsor Not. In addition, we've got all the usual smattering of statistics and fun facts from the more-modern world of Android, iOS, Windows Phone, BlackBerry - and even Amazon. So stack your cards and Just Type your way to the feeds below: this week's rounded river stone of the Pocketnow Weekly is waiting for you to lift it from the Stream of Special Memories. Send feedback, questions, and requests to podcast [AT] pocketnow [DOT] com.
