Paul's back! What's he been doing? Find out on this week's PlayingFTSE Show! All the best things come in threes. We're back up to three on the podcast and Steve W's family is up to three. In Steve D's house, the animals are insisting that three is the optimum number too, as his cats are deciding there's only room for one of them. On the PlayingFTSE show, we like to keep things simple. So gaze in wonder as we proceed to take over an hour on a series of quick news items. First up it's NIO. There's been a short report on the business lately, alleging that the company has been inflating its revenues. None of us owns the stock, but it's an important story anyway. The Steves have been on the wrong end of a short report before, how would they handle it? Second is news from Pinterest. This is a stock that we've talked about a lot and Steve D owns. There's been a change at the top of the business – could this be a sign that they're getting ready to transition on to the next stage of their development? Steve D then squashes the rest of the quick news into the next five minutes and we get with the main content. ARK are loving Zoom Video Communications at the moment. They have a huge price target on the stock and a business model that sees it as a spawner. Paul's making the case for ARK's view on Zoom, but Steve W thinks that detaching the noise from the fundamentals paints an interesting picture of the stock. Zoom has replaced Tesla as the ARK lynchpin and Tesla has replaced a lot of its workers with nobody at all. Here's another stock that we're starting to see differently. Steve W is becoming more and more convinced by the business. Paul and Steve D are still nowhere close. Speaking of Steve W, we're finishing with Kellogg's. They're splitting their business into three parts – snacks, cereals, and plant-based foods. Steve's been looking closely at this and owns some Kellogg shares for his godson. Is this a good move? And does anyone else care?

Generally speaking, meetings have a lot of room to improve when it comes to productivity. We think AI can be part of the solution.” Key Points on this Episode: The type of top-down research we do at ARK. Our bottoms-up analysis of Zoom's people, management, and culture; product leadership; execution; and barriers to entry. DISCLOSURE The forecasted performance and price estimates herein are subject to revision by ARK and provided solely as a guide to current expectations. There can be no expectation that the specific security will achieve such performance or that there will be a return of capital. Past performance is not indicative of future results. FORECASTED PERFORMANCE RESULTS ARE HYPOTHETICAL AND HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, AND PRESENT MANY RISKS AND LIMITATIONS. The recipient should not consider these estimated prices alone in making an investment decision. While ARK believes that there is a sound basis for the forecasts presented, no representations are made as to their accuracy, and there can be no assurance that such forecasts or returns will be achieved by the specific security. The recipient is urged to use extreme caution when considering the forecasted performance, as it is inherently subjective and reflects ARK's inherent bias toward higher expected returns. Any higher returns should be viewed as a measure of the relative risk of such investments, with higher forecasted performance generally reflecting greater risk. There is no guarantee that any results will align with the forecasted performance, and they might not be predictive. Some or all results may be substantially lower than projected results and, as with any investment, it is possible that you could lose money. FORECASTED performance results (single security model simulation forecasts) have many inherent limitations. A recipient account might or might not hold this single security, and the account performance will be affected in proportion to its holding size and the amount of price fluctuation over time. No representation is being made that any client account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses tied to a security in the security model forecasts. In fact, there could be significant differences between these forecasted performance results and the actual results realized. Forecasted performance has not been achieved by the security, and like all modeled, projected or hypothetical performance, it is important to note that there are multiple versions of a model, and ARK has a conflict of interest in that we have an incentive to show you the best performing results. These forecasts rely on models, which calculate hypothetical performance. Several of the limitations of hypothetical performance models include: 1) reliance on a variety of data obtained from sources that are believed to be reliable, but might be incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete and ARK does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information obtained from any third party, 2) potential inclusion of inherent model creation biases, data discrepancies and/or calculation errors that could cause actual results to differ materially from those projected, 3) NO reflection of the impact that material economic and market factors might have had on investment decisions that would have been in actual portfolios being managed at the time and do not involve market risk, and 4) NO guarantee of future investment results. The forecasted results rely on assumptions, forecasts, estimates, modeling, algorithms and other data input by ARK, some of which relies on third-parties, that could be or prove over time to be incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete. The forecasted returns are based on a variety of criteria and assumptions, which might vary substantially, and involve significant elements of subjective judgment and analysis that reflect our own expectations and biases, which might prove invalid or change without notice. It is possible that other foreseeable events that were not taken into account could occur. The forecasted performance results contained herein represent the application of the simulation models as currently in effect on the date first written above, and there can be no assurance that the models will remain the same in the future or that an application of the current models in the future will produce similar results because the relevant market and economic conditions that prevailed during the performance period will not necessarily occur. The results will not be updated as the models change, or any information upon which they rely changes. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the public equity security specifically that cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of forecasted performance results, all of which can adversely affect actual results. For these reasons, forecasted performance results will differ, and could differ significantly from actual results. FORECASTED PERFORMANCE RESULTS ARE SUBJECT TO REVISION AND PRESENTED FOR ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES ONLY. While ARK's current assessment of the subject company may be positive, please note that it might be necessary for ARK to liquidate or reduce position sizes prior to the company attaining any forecasted valuation pricing due to a variety of conditions including, but not limited to, client specific guidelines, changing market conditions, investor activity, fundamental changes in the company's business model and competitive landscape, headline risk, and government/regulatory activity. Additionally, ARK does not have investment banking, consulting, or any type of fee-paying relationship with the subject company.

Many of the changes brought on by COVID were temporary but some are here to say. That's especially true in the workplace. We'll talk about those likely permanent changes today on MoneyWise. Due to office shutdowns during the pandemic, employers bent over backwards to keep work flowing, giving employees much greater flexibility, including working from home, like never before. It was a trend already underway to a limited extent, but analysts say the pandemic catapulted the workplace years or decades into the future practically overnight. HERE TO STAY Organizational psychologist Anthony Klotz, the guy who coined the term the Great Resignation, now says many of those changes are here to stay. Klotz predicted a year ago this month that COVID would spark mass resignations. He sure got that one right. A record 48 million workers left their jobs in 2021, and the trend continues, with four and a half million of them saying I quit this past March alone. Employers are paying a lot more attention to the needs of employees in an effort to retain them and recruit new hires, instituting policies to help with physical, mental and financial health. Klotz says the result is a series of changes that might not have taken place for another 30 years, most notably job flexibility and expanded work-from-home opportunities. The result is that millions of workers have now learned they can do their jobs anywhere. WORKING REMOTELY It's not a matter of keeping them down on the farm. Workers have proven they can be productive on a farm or anywhere else, like the kitchen table or even the local coffee shop. All they need is broadband Internet. Rather than returning to the office, millions of workers are moving to the suburbs and rural areas, keeping their jobs without having to commute. Or they're looking for new opportunities that allow them to work remotely. For employees that must come into the office, employers have stepped up onsite changes, including things like a 4-day work week and greater flexibility with hours. It's not like they have a choice. A study by CareerBuilder showed that job announcements giving employees work-from-home opportunities now draw seven times more applications than onsite positions. And they the gamut of fields, with managers, tutors and therapists being among the most popular with applicants looking for remote work opportunities. Applicants are insisting on flexibility and wellness like never before. A LinkedIn survey found that nearly two-thirds of job seekers now say that the chance to better balance work and home life is a top priority. Many other departing workers have cited low pay, a lack of advancement opportunity and employer disrespect as the chief reasons they quit. Another change sparked by COVID is the huge increase in the number of people leaving jobs to start their own businesses. The Census Bureau reports that applications to form new businesses hit 5.4 million in 2021. So by now you're probably wondering just who are these companies offering perqs like work-from-home and hour flexibility? It's no surprise at all that topping the list is Zoom Video Communications. Dell computers is also on the list, along with the travel app Hopper. Intuit is also in the mix, offering work from home for tax professionals, including attorneys and CPAs. The health field is well-represented. United Health, Trusted Health and BroadPath Health Solutions are all giving their employees the opportunity to work from home, among other benefits. That's what's happening in today's workforce. We hope you can put some of that information to use. On today's program, Rob also answers listener questions: ● What's the difference between a standard financial advisor and a Kingdom Advisor? ● How do you recalculate Social Security benefits if you reenter the workforce after beginning to draw SS benefits? ● Is there a way to avoid capital gains tax on the sale of a rental property? ● If your employer doesn't offer a 401k plan, where should you invest? ● What can you do about a late income tax refund? ● Should you hire a professional to handle your taxes or do it yourself using online software? The sudden shift to remote working amid the Covid-19 pandemic made video conferencing tools hugely important for companies looking to keep their operations running smoothly. It was Zoom however that became synonymous with the times, spurring a new lexicon, including 'Zoom Fatigue' and 'Zoom bombing' as people adjusted to a new paradigm.   As the pandemic evolves to endemic in much of the world, the legacy of the crisis includes the adoption of hybrid working practices as employers look to lock in the benefits of flexibility and working from anywhere such as higher productivity and worker well-being.   Beyond the workplace, the impact of the past two years is also being felt, as more and more of our daily activities take on a digital aspect. The tools we used in the crisis will remain critical as we evolve and adapt. How can we continue to use them safely and in the most sustainable ways?   To discuss this rapidly emerging future, Sam Tayan, managing director of Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Pakistan at Zoom Video Communications, joins hosts Mustafa Alrawi and Kelsey Warner.
