John Welsch is a staple diet in the Colorado Soccer community. A man of integrity, a copious amount of intelligence and is very much soccer and life savvy. When John holds court it's a good idea to listen. Watch. Listen and learn. Richie English.INSTAGRAM… johnwelschcoachingTWITTER…. @JohnWelschCoachingWEBSITE… www.johnwelschcoaching.comMeet Coach JohnBorn and raised in the Netherlands, John Welsch arrived in the United States at age 18 to study and play soccer at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. John was a two-time All-American and a four-time All-Midwest player at NTSU, in those days a perennial power-house in college soccer. After being selected to play in the 1980 College Senior Bowl, he was then drafted by the Chicago Sting of the North American Soccer League and played in Chicago during the 1980-81 indoor season before returning to the Dallas area to play for the Dallas Americans of the American Soccer League until 1984.Following his professional soccer career, John was hired as the first head coach for FC Boulder in 1989. With the help of some amazing coaches and staff members, he transformed FC Boulder into one of the top clubs in Colorado. His 28 years with FC Boulder made him the longest running Director of Coaching in Colorado and under his guidance, Boulder has become a hotbed for soccer. As of 2021, John has coached more players who have succeeded at the high school varsity level than any other coach in the North Metro/Boulder County area. Over 200 of John's former players have gone on to play collegiate soccer including NSCAA All-Americans, NCAA National Champions and All-Conference players. John has coached players that have gone on to play professional soccer as well as players who have gone on to coach at the professional, collegiate and high school levels.Besides coaching at the club level, John served as head coach for Boulder High School in the 1990s, assistant coach for the University of Colorado Women's team and a Colorado Olympic Development Program staff coach. As the first USSF "A" licensed coach in the area, John has conducted coaching certification courses for many Colorado youth coaches. He currently organizes the annual Colorado Soccer Coaching Symposium, bringing some of the top coaches in the United States to Boulder each winter.John departed FC Boulder for Boulder County Soccer Club in 2017, seeking to help build an alternative to what he saw as an increasingly “big business” approach to youth soccer. During his four years at BCSC, the club made great strides, culminating in the Fairview boys high school team winning the Colorado 5A state championship, with 8-of-the-11 starters coming from the BCSC program.John believes that mindful coaching, inclusive programming and a commitment to excellence is the pathway to success in soccer and that quality soccer experiences should be available to players and families of all backgrounds.
THIS IS A MUST, TUNE IN AND SHARE. 11am Mountain Time. Together we can make a difference.Chris Lomas…. “When my wife and I landed into Chisinau airport in the early hours of the 17th February 2021, we had no idea what lay in store, other than a desire to 'make a difference' in the lives of orphans and victims of child trafficking. All I remember was, how cold it is in Moldova and how we'd left family, friends, and everything we know to start a new life in what is Europe's poorest country. And now there is a war on our doorstep”.INSTAGRAM… wearehope4WEBSITE…http://www.hope4.love/donateukraine………… www.reachmystreet.comAs a leader of a thriving organization, you've already experienced what it's like to dream something, believe it can come true, work hard for it and realize it. Perhaps now you're looking for an opportunity to partner with a charity and see a new vision come to life as a result of your generosity. Let me tell you about Hope4LifeWe often take for granted the sound of a child laughing, or seeing them play outside care-free, or the ability to send them to school. But imagine that sound of laughter disappeared or worse, had never been heard. Imagine children sitting on the streets begging for food because they haven't eaten in days. Imagine parents so desperate to provide for their families that they work extortionate hours for £150 a month. Imagine families so vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking, that they are often ripped apart. These situations are happening every day around the world and families are crying out for change.Hope4 was founded to help transform the lives of children and families in one of the worst affected countries in the world; Moldova, where conditions within employment and institutional care are truly shocking as well as being the European hub for sex and modern-day slavery.Hope4 is now supporting more orphans than we ever thought possible, as well as providing assistance to more than 50 children's homes, an orphan crisis center, a center for victims of abuse, as well as countless families suffering starvation. And we've only just scratched the surface. We extend an invitation to you, the leader of an organization who is looking to form a corporate social responsibility commitment from the board room itself. We want to partner with you so that you can truly be part of the life-changing work that's taking place. So, how can you get involved? We are looking for corporate partners to support us in 3 key areas: Name Hope4 as your nominated charity for the year Ongoing monthly support – regular funds allow us to plan and deliver new projects Ad Hoc Support – your generosity can accelerate the projects in the pipelineWe believe that corporate social responsibility shouldn't just be a tick box exercise but instead, a partnership with flourishing results. We want to encourage our partners to be part of the vision and the results; where you can once again dream it, believe it, provide for it and see it come to fruition.

I am a firecracker from Colorado. I am a graduate from Iowa State with a degree in Journalism Mass Communication, and a double Minor in Psych and International Studies. I have played soccer since I was two and have been honored to play Division 1 soccer for Iowa State University where I studied abroad for a month to learn Spanish. Through this experience I have found my love of sports casting and completed impressive internships to help me hone my skills and leadership abilities for this field. Through my time with the Iowa Cubs videography team, Athlete Network intern and my recent time as the Sports Intern for KCCI News, I have been able to add to my portfolio while growing my confidence. I will attend Oxford Brookes University in Headington England, to receive my Masters in Journalism this coming year.At 23 I can say I am proud to be who I am. I have achieved every goal I have set my sights on. When I was seven years old I decided I wanted to play D1 women's soccer in college before I even knew how to juggle. All I knew was that I loved to work hard, I loved to compete; I loved having a dream to chase. I was told I would never make the best team in the state; I did. I was told I would never get a collegiate offer. I was recruited by 9 different Division 1 programs, and verbally committed to play Division 1 soccer in 2013 when I was offered a scholarship to play at the University of Arkansas as a Freshman in High school. I ended up transferring out, and the head coach told me I would never make it off the bench at any college. I have started for Iowa State and had a very successful career. I am constantly having my intelligence undermined because I am blond, female and positive. I have been on the deans list since attending Iowa State, I win First team Big 12 academic award every semester and am on scholarship for my upcoming graduate school. I am now going on to play soccer in England for Oxford Brookes, with other offers from four different English Universities and a program in Florence, Italy. As a strong female, I intend to take the sports casting world by storm and provide others the example of just what tenacity can do; especially women who feel they are being undermined, I want to inspire them to speak up and pursue all they can. The bottom line is everyone can have an opinion and you can respect that, but no-one can tell you what you're capable of or stop you from achieving your dreams. As a journalist and videographer, I promise to live by the following statements:I will take responsibility for the accuracy of my work.I will verify all facts prior to releasing it to the public.I will use original sources whenever possible.I will use honesty and fairness to build my credibility and trust.I will ensure every person is treated with dignity and respect.I will ensure the work place is safe from sexual harassment, racism and other intolerable acts by using my voice and having an observant eye.I will always work hard to do the story justice in its truth.I will not manufacture the truth in what is being documented by interfering with the subject at hand.I will hold myself and those around me to the highest standard, and I will report when the standard is not met.I will not sacrifice myself or integrity in order to achieve, release a story or support a coworker

I tested my limits in professional sports as a volleyball player until December 2018 came and swept my legs out from under me. Literally.During that long and unpleasant fight against a nasty bacterial infection in my ankle, I had to start letting go of my big dreams as an athlete. It felt like someone blew out the candles of my birthday cake before I got to do it.After that dark moment, I saw one of the candles flickering. The glimpse was a passion that was still alive within me. I gently coaxed the flicker to a flame… And to a bonfire. It is built on understanding and unlocking the power of our mindsets and the importance of authenticity in sports and life. Light up! December 2018: I went from a professional athlete to a bed patient in one day. A long story short: I got a nasty bacterial infection in my ankle while I was living my dream and playing professional volleyball in France. I had to go through four surgeries, 4 months in bed, and a pretty surreal life change. Ok, very surreal. But it was damn real. Spring 2019: I stayed sane by staying active, not physically but mentally. Learning like a lizard. Ok that’s not a saying but it rhymes. I listened to podcasts, read books and articles, watched documentaries, took online classes and started working for Extended DISC Finland/Finxs Global basically from my bed in Finland.July 2019: I could not stay in Finland where my volleyball bubble is and I got a chance to coach/learn more about the coaching side of volleyball at Colorado University of Boulder as a volunteer coach so I said YES, packed my bags and moved to Denver! Fall 2019: I kept working with the Sports Capacity Assessment we created with Extended DISC while working for CU and I realized more about the impact I can have in the (sports) world after sports as well… So I kept drumming the idea of authenticity, knowing yourself better, your personality and strengths, using time to do that inner / mindset work. So, other people would not need to underperform. They could thrive authentically! But then…

Soccer, athletics, college football and rugby. YouTube star, educated, much traveled. A genuinely fine young man and Koi Sports champion.....(born 9 September 1999) Tyrese Johnson-Fisher is a former professional rugby union wing for Bristol Bears in Premiership Rugby. At the age of 15 a video of him playing for Oakham School emerged, with over 2.5 million views to date. He spent one year with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team in the NCAA's Sun Belt Conference, returned to the UK to play professional rugby and now ‘Back in the USA”.Richie English is quick out of the blocks as he and Tyrese get together to put points on the board with this enthralling whirlwind story. If you are an upcoming athlete with ambition, this broadcast is a must. Promo Video: https://youtu.be/7MFg6FNYjkwSOCIAL MEDIA LINK…TWITTER…. @tj_athlete Tyrese had competed for 'Oakham' and the 'Croydon Harriers,' which are renowned athletic clubs in his hometown. He rose to prominence after a streaming company captured his finest rugby skills and published a video on 'YouTube.' The video was watched by over two million viewers. In March 2015, he scored four spectacular tries for the under-15 team of 'Oakham School,' against 'Bishop Wordsworth,' during the 'NatWest Schools Cup.' He later played for the 'Leicester Tigers Academy' under-18 team, as a winger. He displayed his sheer brilliance there, too. With 'Oakham,' Tyrese toured all over South Africa, achieving impressive victories over local schools. With this level of performance, Tyrese was expected to prepare for the upcoming 'Premiership U18' league and other school-level competitions. Back then, everyone hoped Tyrese would try for the England under-18 selection, but he chose a completely different path, in a different nation altogether.Despite achieving fame in rugby, Tyrese decided to take a break from the sport and pursue football instead. However, Tyrese also focused on sprinting, another sport he had been excelling in for several years. At the age of 16, Tyrese recorded a win at the 60m 'National Indoor Finals.' He finished in just 6.89 seconds, representing the 'Croydon Harriers' (an athletic club based in Croydon, England). He also grabbed the third position in all of England in the under-17 100m sprint, which he finished in a record time of 10.73 seconds, to qualify for the 'Great Britain Juniors.' He is also a proficient long jumper. Tyrese’s compact physical frame (5 feet 10 inches, 194 pounds) not only helped him excel in sprinting but also earned him the running back position in his football team, something he had always dreamt of achieving.Tyrese then moved to the US to make it big in the American football scene. However, his journey to participate in the sport was not easy, as opportunities were limited overseas. Tyrese happened to watch a match of the 'Elite 200 Camp' in Troisdorf, Germany. This encouraged him to experiment with football with further determination. He then mailed a few footages of his rugby skills, including the viral 'YouTube' video, to the organizers of that camp. The footages were then relayed to the 'Under Armour' selection committee, which decided to give him a chance.Tyrese was released from the college program after a year. He then moved back to England to resume his rugby career. Following this, he remained focused on attracting the attention of Pat Lam, who was the coach of one of the premier rugby teams, the 'Bristol Bears.'

Today’s college coaches are forced to adopt new technology at a faster rate than ever before due to current and pending situations that are out of our control. What are the newest coaching tools that let any coach create a supportive environment online? The team must stay together but how can they do that without meeting together on the field? Join your host, Richie English, and the head coach of the CU Buffaloes women, Danny Sanchez to talk about coaching a healthy team in the midst of our new safety guidelines. In 1995, Mesa Community College hired Sanchez to coach both its men's and women soccer teams. From 1995 to 2001, he compiled a 103–15–5 record with the women's team and a 96–36–7 record with the men's team. He was also the 1995 and 2001 Arizona Community College Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.[1] In February 2002, Metropolitan State University hired Sanchez to coach its women's soccer team. Over six seasons, Sanchez took the Roadrunners to a 128–11–7 record and the 2004 and 2006 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship.[4] At the same time as he was coaching Metro State, Sanchez also served as the head coach of the Mile High Edge in the W-League.[5] In December 2007, Sanchez moved to the University of Wyoming. Sanchez did not experience as much success with the Cowgirls as with his two previous collegiate teams. Over four seasons, he took them to a 36–34–11 record.[6] On December 19, 2011, Sanchez became the head coach of the University of Colorado women's team.Follow the Buffaloes on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cubuffssoccerInstagram: @CUCoachSanchez
There’s no hiding from the absence of the US men qualifying for the world cup in Russia. Compare that to the US women taking the 3 out of the last 4 cups. If the US men are going to make it further into the tournament something’s got to change. With college program that’s consistently sitting on top of the national standings D1 head coach, Jamie Franks, sits down with our host, Richie English to talk about the specific development that goes into the 18 - 23 age range, college academics, and overall athletic training to determine how the US is improving its plan to compete and win at the next world cup. Jamie Franks completed his fifth season as Denver's head men's soccer coach and his eighth with the program overall in 2019 after being named the program's 10th head coach in January of 2015. In five seasons, the head coach of the 2016 National Coaching Staff of the Year has put together a record of 67-24-13, improving Denver's record since Franks joined the staff as an assistant in 2012 to 102-41-21. Combined as a player and coach, Franks is 201-68-38 in college soccer, having reached five of the last 13 College Cups and winning a national championship at Wake Forest as a player in that span. The four-time Summit League Coach of the Year and the head coach of the 2016 NSCAA West Regional Staff of the Year was the youngest head coach in Division I in 2015 and the second youngest in 2016, earning the promotion from his assistant coaching role following the departure of Bobby Muuss to Wake Forest. In just his second season in charge, Franks led the Pioneers to their first College Cup appearance in program history after picking up multiple wins (three) in the NCAA Tournament for the first time and earning their first postseason victory since 1970. Franks ended his second season at 35-2-6, having not lost in the regular season and have not suffered a defeat in regulation in his coaching tenure through two seasons. Under the Wake Forest alum, the Pioneers became the first program since Clemson in 1977-78 to finish consecutive regular seasons unbeaten. In five seasons in charge, Franks has been to the NCAA Tournament four times and has received byes as one of the top-16 seeds in three of those campaigns.Franks tenure has also produced the top grade point average in the country in three-straight seasons (2015-17), the second-best grade point average in the country once (2018), three University of Denver Gold Vest awards (2015, 2016, 2018), the first four MLS First Round picks in program history (Dunk – 2017, Hamilton, 2017, Smith, 2018, Shinyashiki, 2019) and 2017 Colorado Rapids Homegrown signing Kortne Ford, who would have likely gone in the top-5 of the 2017 MLS Super Draft. Shinyashiki was named the MLS Rookie of the Year in 2019 following his 28-goal season with the Pioneers in 2018.
