Hi. Welcome to the Pilote podcast. My name is David Fuller and I will be your host.Coming up with a name for a podcast is like finding a domain name that hasn't been taken. It's an interesting branding exercise - trying to sum up the promise to you - the listener in a single headline. The word Pilot has many meanings in English. The most common usage - the person at the controls of a plane, though pilots may also be in charge of other vehicles like racing cars.Pilot can also mean a test. You may run a pilot program for a new process or a new market. The word is also used in this sense for new TV shows.A pilot light is a source of ignition. Which is one of the reasons our logo looks the way it does. Some of you might see a flame. But perhaps the meaning of Pilot that relates most to this program how it describes the role of a harbour pilot. An expert in specific terrain and conditions who helps those who are themselves experts to navigate waters that are unknown. So the Pilote podcast seeks to….Speak with those in the driver's seat with their hands on the controls.Provide an ignition source, a spark of inspiration to formulate and implement ideas.Help navigate the unfamiliarSpecifically, we will be talking about technologies and trends that may disrupt the status quo. From the way we shop, to how we do business, to how we spend our leisure time.We will try to demystify technology such as blockchain and ideas like the metaverse. We will bust some myths around hyped technologies like NFTs and ask tough questions to those who would seek to build our futures and what that means for privacy and identity. It's not all one way though. We want to answer your questions. We want to know your thoughts. So you can find me on Twitter at dmfreedom. Thanks for listening. Until next time.Support the show (http://www.pilotemedia.com/pilote-podcast/)
