C dans l'air du 21 octobre 2025 : Un président en prisonC'est une première pour un ancien président sous la Ve République. Nicolas Sarkozy a été incarcéré ce mardi 21 octobre à la prison de la Santé, dans le 14e arrondissement de Paris. L'ancien chef de l'Etat a été écroué près d'un mois après sa condamnation pour association de malfaiteurs dans le cadre de l'affaire du financement libyen de sa campagne présidentielle de 2007.Bien qu'il ait fait appel de cette condamnation, la peine – cinq ans d'emprisonnement assortie d'une exécution provisoire – l'a conduit en détention. Il a été placé dans une cellule du quartier d'isolement. Immédiatement après son incarcération, ses avocats ont déposé une demande de mise en liberté. Celle-ci sera examinée dans un délai d'environ un mois, a précisé son conseil, Me Christophe Ingrain.Quelques heures avant son incarcération, Nicolas Sarkozy a publié un message sur les réseaux sociaux : « Mais que le prix à payer aura été écrasant. » L'ex-chef de l'État a également reçu, ce matin, le soutien d'une centaine de fidèles, rassemblés près de son domicile. Parmi eux, son fils Louis Sarkozy, organisateur du rassemblement, le sénateur LR Roger Karoutchi, mais aucun des ténors du parti Les Républicains n'était présent : ni Bruno Retailleau, ni Laurent Wauquiez.Le ministre de la Justice, Gérald Darmanin, proche de Nicolas Sarkozy, a lui fait savoir, lundi, qu'il irait le « voir en prison ». Un choix qui fait vivement réagir les magistrats, à commencer par le premier d'entre eux. Le procureur général près la Cour de cassation a estimé ce lundi que la justice doit pouvoir travailler dans la sérénité, en particulier les juges de la cour d'appel de Paris, qui se pencheront dans les prochaines semaines sur la demande de mise en liberté de Nicolas Sarkozy et sur son procès en appel l'année prochaine. « Il y a un risque qu'une telle visite soit ressentie par les magistrats et perçue par l'opinion comme une sorte d'obstacle à cette sérénité recherchée. Il faut préserver de toute influence l'intervention des magistrats dans un dossier aussi sensible », a déclaré Rémy Heitz.Dans la foulée, Gérald Darmanin lui a répondu via un message publié sur X : « S'assurer de la sécurité d'un ancien président de la République en prison, fait sans précédent, n'atteint en rien à l'indépendance des magistrats, mais relève du devoir de vigilance du chef d'administration que je suis, responsable devant le Parlement selon l'article 20 de la Constitution », a-t-il écrit.Le président de la République, Emmanuel Macron, qui a reçu Nicolas Sarkozy vendredi dernier à l'Élysée, a jugé « légitime » le débat sur l'exécution provisoire, en marge d'un déplacement en Slovénie : « Parce que tout le monde souhaite qu'il puisse y avoir des voies d'appel et de recours. Una politica che alle gaffe risulta saldamente abbonata - è ormai ai livelli dell'indimenticabile Jean-Claude Juncker e in scia a Joe Biden - è Ursula von der Leyen la quale, essendo presidente della Commissione dell'Unione europea, ha pensato bene di segnalare a tutti che, udite udite, ignora perfino la più recente storia europea. La spettacolare performance si è consumata sui profili social ufficiali della von der Leyen, che due giorni fa ha scritto: «Il 29 giugno 1985, i leader europei scelsero un simbolo che avrebbe resistito alla prova del tempo. Dodici stelle dorate in un cerchio. Un simbolo potente di ciò che siamo e di ciò che rappresentiamo: unità e pace, democrazia e solidarietà. Oggi celebriamo i 40 anni della nostra bandiera comune».Ora, già accostare allegramente all'Unione europea a parole impegnative quali «unità e pace, democrazia e solidarietà», se non un azzardo, appare comunque un esercizio temerario. Ma, non già da passante bensì da presidente della Commissione europea, pure dimostrare al mondo di non sapere - o censurare volutamente, scegliete cosa sia peggio - il significato delle «dodici stelle dorate in un cerchio» che rappresentano la bandiera europea, ecco, è inqualificabile. Urge pertanto ricordare alla signora von der Leyen, come le «dodici stelle dorate in un cerchio» non siano un omaggio ad «unità e pace, democrazia e solidarietà» - tutte cose importanti, sia chiaro, soprattutto quanto vere e non citate tanto per -, bensì una scelta precisa.Quale scelta? Quella compiuta da chi la bandiera europea l'ha realizzata, vale a dire il cattolico Arsène Heitz (1908-1989), il quale, da devoto alla Madonna, pensò alle dodici stelle sul blu mariano che tutti conosciamo. Per la precisione, Heitz ammise di essersi ispirato ad un passaggio dell'Apocalisse che per i cattolici anticipa la figura della Madre di Dio: «Un segno grandioso apparve nel cielo: una donna vestita di sole, con la luna sotto i suoi piedi e, sul capo, una corona di dodici stelle». Rimane vero che tale interpretazione non è mai stata convalidata dalle istituzioni europee, ma è anche vero che - se era il 29 giugno 1985 quando la Comunità economica maturò la scelta definitiva d'adottare quella che sappiamo come bandiera dell'Europa unita - la bandiera fu per la prima volta adottata dal Consiglio d'Europa proprio l'8 dicembre 1955: la Festa dell'Immacolata. C'è di più.Sappiamo che Heitz fu molto esplicito nel dichiarare la genesi della sua opera, raccontando a padre Pierre Caillon nel 1987 quanto segue: «Mi sentii ispirato da Dio nel concepire un vessillo tutto azzurro su cui si stagliava un cerchio di stelle, come quello della medaglia miracolosa. Cosicché la bandiera europea è quella di Nostra Signora». Chiaro? Con tutto il rispetto per «unità e pace, democrazia e solidarietà», il senso originale di quella bandiera è questo. Ma, a ben vedere, la gaffe - o la censura - di Ursula von der Leyen non sorprendono. L'Unione europea che la bionda signora tedesca presiede, infatti, è pur sempre la stessa che chiuse le porte in faccia a Papa San Giovanni Paolo II, allorquando chiese il riconoscimento delle radici cristiane del Continente. Un riconoscimento che chiunque di intellettualmente onesto avrebbe dovuto fare all'istante, ma i cervelloni di Bruxelles la pensavano diversamente. Ed oggi Ursula von der Leyen si colloca perfettamente in questa tradizione cristianofobia che pure si presenta come tollerante ed inclusiva. A parole.

Dans ce dernier opus, elle suit en particulier les traces de deux sœurs, Mia et Inès, “décalques à double face de la romancière”, selon le quotidien “Libération”. Leïla Slimani est née au Maroc dans une famille bourgeoise, elle quitte son pays pour la France à l'âge de 18 ans. Tracts, manifestation, mais aussi accusation de "décision politique" de la part de la justice ou encore l'idée que la démocratie serait en danger, le Rassemblement national martèle ses arguments pour occuper le terrain tout en évitant d'évoquer le fond du dossier des assistants parlementaires européens dans lequel Marine Le Pen et une vingtaine d'accusés ont été condamnés, ce lundi 31 mars. Alors qu'à l'étranger, les dirigeants d'extrême droite du monde entier lui apportent leur soutien : Viktor Orbán a tweeté "Je suis Marine !". Vladimir Poutine a parlé de "violation des normes démocratiques". Donald Trump a dit que cela lui rappelle ses propres affaires judicaires et Elon Musk a dénoncé "un abus du système judiciaire". Pourtant, cette condamnation est l'épilogue d'une enquête ouverte dix ans plus tôt et d'un procès de deux mois. Marine Le Pen et huit eurodéputés ont été reconnus coupables de détournement de 4,6 millions d'euros entre 2004 et 2016. L'argent du Parlement européen destiné aux assistants parlementaires a servi aux dépenses du parti d'extrême droite et des personnes qui y travaillent. "Personne n'est jugé pour avoir fait de la politique […] L'égalité devant la loi est un pilier de la démocratie. Les élus ne disposent pas d'un privilège", a martelé lors de l'énoncé du jugement la présidente du tribunal correctionnel de Paris comme pour anticiper les critiques d'une justice politisée. Dans ce dossier, a-t-elle expliqué, "la question était de savoir si le travail réalisé était bien "en lien avec le mandat" de leur eurodéputé et le tribunal n'a eu "aucun doute" sur le fait qu'il ne l'était pas. Les 12 assistants de neuf eurodéputés (dont Marine Le Pen) étaient bien "rémunérés" par le Parlement européen, alors qu'ils travaillaient "en réalité" pour le parti. La présidente Bénédicte de Perthuis a notamment évoqué le cas d'assistants parlementaires "passant d'un député à l'autre" ou à qui leur employeur ne confiait "aucune tâche". Comme, par exemple, Yann Le Pen, sœur de Marine le Pen, officiellement assistante parlementaire de Bruno Gollnisch alors qu'elle travaillait à l'organisation des grandes manifestations du parti ou encore Thierry Légier, garde du corps de Jean-Marie Le Pen puis de Marine Le Pen, une fonction qui "nécessitait une présence de tous les instants" et ne permettait pas d'être assistant parlementaire de quelqu'un d'autre. Ce mardi, le procureur général près la Cour de cassation Rémy Heitz a insisté sur le fait que la justice n'était "pas politique" : "cette décision n'est pas une décision politique mais judiciaire, rendue par trois juges indépendants, impartiaux". Le délibéré "a été rendu conformément à la loi, en application de textes votés par la représentation nationale".Fait rare, le Conseil supérieur de la magistrature a exprimé dans un communiqué son "inquiétude" face aux attaques : "Ces réactions sont de nature à remettre en cause gravement l'indépendance de l'autorité judiciaire, fondement de l'Etat de droit", a déclaré l'institution lundi, rappelant que "les menaces visant personnellement les magistrats, tout comme les prises de parole de responsables politiques sur le bien-fondé des poursuites ou de la condamnation ne peuvent être acceptées dans une société démocratique". Dans la soirée, c'est le premier président de la cour d'appel de Paris, Jacques Boulard, qui a fait part dans un communiqué de sa "vive préoccupation" face aux "menaces" et "aux attaques personnelles", "en particulier sur les réseaux sociaux", contre les trois magistrats ayant rendu le jugement. "La critique d'une décision de justice ne peut en aucun cas s'exprimer par des menaces formulées à l'égard des magistrats", a-t-il déclaré.Des menaces également condamnées par le ministre de la Justice Gérald Darmanin, les estimant "inacceptables dans une démocratie et préoccupantes pour l'indépendance de l'autorité judiciaire". Le Premier ministre François Bayrou a apporté son "soutien inconditionnel" aux magistrats menacés et ouvert la porte à une "réflexion" pour faire évoluer la loi sur l'exécution provisoire. This episode features winemaker and viticulturist, Mark Neal, the Founder and Owner of Neal Family Vineyards. Growing up in Napa Valley's Rutherford region as the son of a farmer, Mark was learning about viticulture from a very young age - he says farming is the only job he's ever had. It was Mark's maternal grandmother whom he credits with instilling the family with their early adoption of biodynamics. A native of Crete, she was critical of any other way of farming than the ancient, organic, lunar-based model she absorbed growing up. Mark is now best known as one of the first grape growers to practice and farm biodynamically in Napa. In 1968, Mark entered his father's business, Jack Neal and Son (JNS) Vineyard Management and the duo helped establish some of the most storied estates in Napa Valley, including continuous vineyard management with Heitz, Martha's Vineyard. During the 1960's and 1970's, demand started to grow for his expertise in developing everything from orchards to vineyards, especially after Napa won the French Tasting in 1976. He went on to conduct ground preparation on vineyards such as BV, Beckstoffer, Cuvaison, Duckhorn Schramsburg, Screaming Eagle, Three Palms, Coppola, Dominus Estates, Ink Grade Vineyards, Vine Hill Ranch. Starting in the mid-1990s, he spent years consulting for Gallo Vineyards, building and prepping the company's vineyard estates throughout California. Today, Mark still runs JNS in addition to Neal Family Vineyards. Of the 40 or so vineyard management companies in Napa, JNS is the second oldest, and Mark proudly still has clients on handshake contracts from the 1970s that were secured by his father. In 1997, Mark developed a dual varietal trellis system to combat a palpably warming Napa Valley and plant white grapes like Sauvignon Blanc and Vermentino (as well as other experimental varieties) in his Rutherford Dust vineyard. His innovation doubled up production on the same acre without sacrificing quality, without using any additional water, and without expending any additional carbon footprint. you'll hear about the various benefits of all his practices. He's working his way back and lives at Fusion Studios, an apartment complex for formerly homeless people. He's been very vocal about the issues he faces living with people with significant mental health and addiction issues, but he continues to write and create content for NewsBreak. His father played at West Virginia University before playing professionally in Switzerland. His uncle played for the University of Kentucky's 1984 Final Four team and was drafted by the Indiana Pacers. He is also cousins with Brad Miller, who played at Purdue University prior to a fourteen year NBA career which included being a two-time all-star. He also has relatives who have played for the University of Oklahoma, Morehead State, and the University of Alaska-Anchorage. Cory attended a prep school for a post-grad year and his cousin Brad spent his senior year of high school at a prep school. Without this year Cory would not have played Division 1 and Brad would not have made the NBA.
