Join us in this spine-chilling bonus episode of  our Tales of Horror series as Jackson is back so we can dive deep into the terrifying depths of the 1997 sci-fi horror classic, “Event Horizon.” Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and featuring an incredible cast including Laurence Fishburne, Sam Neill, Kathleen Quinlan, Joely Richardson, Jason Isaacs, and Richard T. Jones, this film takes us on a harrowing journey through space and the unknown. We'll discuss the film's haunting premise—an experimental spaceship's return from a mysterious mission beyond the event horizon of a black hole. What horrors awaited the crew? How did Philip Eisner's screenplay come to life, and what themes of fear and isolation does the film explore? Join us as we analyze the stunning visuals, the chilling sound design, and the performances that left audiences on the edge of their seats. We also go into the film's troubled production history, resulting in a rushed shooting and post-production schedule that resulted in lost footage from the film's original 130-minute cut and a 95 minute edited cut being released to poor box office and initial subpar reviews. How did the film eventually become a sci-fi cult classic? Listen in to find out! Whether you're a die-hard horror fan or a newcomer to the genre, this episode will take you on a thrilling ride through the cosmos of terror.  Where To Watch Event Horizon

Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this totally '80s installment marks my 89th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. This installment, titled "Forever Freestyle," celebrates probably the broadest timeline covered by my classic and current collections, featuring material from every decade between 1930 and 2020. My Fuzzy Feature highlights the 1980s miniseries, network series and the 2009 reboot of "V," including a contemporary clip from my "TV is the New Reading" podcast. I track some Cross Connections through the casts of the original and the reboot such as Jossverse connections to Morena Baccarin, Alan Tudyk and Gina Torres and original series connections through Michael Mantell and Richard T. Jones. A flashback episode of "My Name is Earl" featured an appearance by long-acknowledged Golden Thread Beau Bridges as Carl Hickey. And several arterial connections showed up in "Mercy" including Michelle Trachtenberg, Jane Mulgrew and Elisabeth Moss; "Boston Legal" including Jane Lynch, Megan Mullally and Prime Connector Stephen Tobolowsky with William Shatner, Rene Auberjonois and Armin Shimerman. In my Classic Collection, cataloging discs 1476 through 1500, I encountered an ad for a two-disc set packed with '80s dance hits called "Forever Freestyle." You can see the ad here: https://youtu.be/ZDNlUl706Ls Based on finding it in my collection I added the songs in that compilation to my music collection. Also, I found one of two German-language episodes of "Monty Python's Fliegende Zirkus," the Bravo rebroadcast of "Six Feet Under" episode "Eat a Peach," and a Lexus ad featuring some brilliant stage-management tagged "The safest accident is the one that never happens." You can see that one here: https://youtu.be/Xw3-hOE3l8M Plus comments on "Hamlet 2," "The Prisoner," "The Ninth Gate," "CATS," "The Riches," "Fringe," Ellen hosting the Oscars, a documentary on the 2008 presidential election called "By the People: The Election of Barack Obama" and the 1952 movie "Desk Set." In my Current Collection I talk about the "BoJack Horseman" finale and connections between that and the final season of "Six Feet Under." Also, comments on "Quantumania," "Soup to Nuts," "Michael Shayne, Private Eye" and the third season premiere of "Only Murders in the Building." In What I've Been Watching, comments on "Elemental," "Barbie" and "Grace & Frankie," as well as "Project Runway" and "Crime Scene Kitchen." And in my streaming selections, I took in the series premiere of Nathan Pyle's "Strange Planet" on Apple TV. Fun show! Whereas many influencers and icons in Hollywood seek to gain a greater following nationwide, her purpose is so much bigger. For film producer, author and motivational speaker, Angela White, it's not about the lights and cameras. It's about the legacy she will leave to her heirs and those who will come behind her in the entertainment industry. Featured on Fox News, Sirius XM Radio, TBN, and ABC News, to name a few, Angela has served as a trailblazer and mentor for thousands in the media and entertainment world—positioning them to better understand show business and, ultimately, earn more income. Although Angela holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Rutgers University, she chose the road less traveled. Even after obtaining a Juris Doctorate degree from the New York Law School, instead of becoming the go-to lawyer, she became the go-to manager for comedians and comedic actors, such as JB Smoove, in Hollywood. However, it's her professional and educational background that positions her to translate the entertainment industry in a practical, sensible way—benefitting her clientele firsthand. Her jumpstart to producing and managing comedy shows led her to become the series creator and executive producer of The Comedy Underground Series, which was one of the first original comedy stand-up shows from RLJ Entertainment (the company owned by BET founder Bob Johnson and AMC Networks), now known as the Urban Movie Channel. In addition to founding Silver Lining Entertainment, a family-owned multimedia entertainment company based in Los Angeles, California, Angela also founded Backstage Pass to the Movie Industry, an educational platform for those who wish to gain more knowledge in arts, entertainment, and media. Most recently, she launched Dreamers with Purpose, a non-profit organization that assists people of color, women, and those who are financially disadvantaged with dream and purpose fulfillment. Having been poured into professionally and personally by industry professionals and leaders, Angela is intentional about paying it forward in her day-to-day work. As the first African American woman to produce and own a production company that released a theatrically faith-based film, entitled A Question of Faith, featuring Kim Fields and Richard T. Jones, Angela continues to open doors of opportunity for people of all backgrounds and walks of life through her work. Transitioning from talent management to production, Angela serves as a member of the Producer's Guild of America and her films have showcased some of today's top Hollywood talent, including 4Play, featuring Tiffany Haddish; The Last Letter, starring Omari Hardwick; The Sin Seer, starring Isaiah Washington and Salli Richardson; and My Favorite Five, starring Brian White and Jay Ellis, among others. Her work can also be seen on the TV series, Pump, which features Ray J and Michael Jai White and the TV series, Laugh Tonight with Damon Williams that will premiere on UrbanFlix TV in 2020—further positioning Angela as a force to be reckoned with onscreen and offscreen. On the heels of making other's dreams come true, Angela has now taken a leap of faith by entering the world of screenplay writing and directing with her directorial debut Transgress, and Hands Up. As she further explores the world of writing and directing, Angela is ecstatic about crafting new multi-cultural stories and leaving an impact on this nation that cannot be erased. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theactorslounge/support
