Do you really stop and celebrate your growth in your big milestones in your consulting or coaching business journey? I know I sure don't. A few weeks ago, I received an award from Kajabi, the platform on which my website is built. They recognized me for earning a million dollars. I'm a "$1 million Superhero," and when I got this award, I felt really weird about it. I wasn't sure what to make of it, because it's like, wow, I made a million dollars from this B2C business that I've been working on for the last few years, and at first, I didn't want to celebrate it. Why? Because I'm embarrassed. It took me so much longer to achieve this milestone than it did when I started my consulting business. I got this award right before I went on vacation. It coincided with my 15th anniversary in business, and then I did a podcast with Karen Laus on confidence in pricing and confidence in general. So, I went on vacation and had lots of time to think about why I want to hide something so meaningful. In this episode, you'll hear: The real story behind my $1 million milestone. How I found the courage to leave Disney, rebuild after divorce, and pivot my business completely. The mindset shifts that helped me move from embarrassment to celebration. Why sharing your success isn't bragging, it's essential. A simple reframe to help you own your wins with integrity and inspire others to do the same. Next Steps Celebrate with me: Take a moment to recognize how far you've come. Share your own milestone or small win publicly, or with a trusted peer, and let others witness your success. Drop it in the comments of the post for this episode! I want to hear about it. Practice “sober celebration”: Reflect on your achievements with integrity... not exaggerating, not minimizing, simply acknowledging what's true. Inspire courage: Use your transparency to encourage others. When you share what's possible, you expand what others believe is possible for them. Reframe success: Remember, sharing your wins isn't bragging. It's important. It gives evidence of what's possible when you lead with courage, purpose, and persistence. Join the conversation: Post your milestone on LinkedIn or your platform of choice and tag me. Let's start normalizing the celebration of integrity-driven success. Have you ever been told to keep municipal bonds, instead of corporate bonds, in your brokerage account? You may think that there isn't that big of a difference… after all, they're both bonds. Nate Reineke and Kyle Hoelzle break down the advantages municipal bonds may provide for doctors like you and why they can help your diversification. We also answer your colleagues' questions. A vascular surgeon in Oregon says, 'My son is in college and wants to start investing. What tools should he consider?' A General Surgeon in Oregon asks, with my 529 plan, if my child is over 18, can they be the successor and the beneficiary? A Psychiatrist in Virginia wants to know when target date investing, should the investment target be based on your current age or your planned retirement year? A Pain Management Specialist in NY said that their 403 (b) custodian sent a message stating that they were invested too aggressively. What could cause this? A Pulm Crit Care doctor in California is curious about how to handle RSUs in their portfolio. Are you ready to turn worries about taxes and investing into all the money you need for college and retirement? It's time to make a plan and get on track. In this exclusive Pop Culture Edition of Sasquatch Odyssey, Dani dives headfirst into the world of comics to explore one of the most fascinating pop culture interpretations of Bigfoot: Marvel's Sasquatch. Created in the late 1970s, Marvel's Sasquatch isn't just a towering cryptid lurking in the woods—he's Dr. Walter Langkowski, a Canadian scientist whose experiments unlock a transformation into a massive, orange-furred creature with superhuman strength.A longtime member of Alpha Flight, Marvel's premier Canadian superhero team, Sasquatch has stood shoulder to shoulder with legends like Wolverine and the X-Men, bringing the folklore of Bigfoot into the heart of the Marvel Universe. In this episode, Dani paints a vivid picture of the character's design and evolution: the towering frame, the primal roar, the duality of man and beast. But more than just description, we dig into what this character means. How does Marvel's Sasquatch reflect our cultural fascination with cryptids? Why do we continually reimagine Bigfoot in new forms—from wilderness monster to sports mascot to superhero? Drawing on psychology and sociology, Dani explores how this superhero iteration taps into deeper human questions: the tension between science and myth, the fear and fascination of transformation, and the way folklore adapts to modern storytelling. By turning Bigfoot into a hero instead of a horror, Marvel redefined the cultural script, showing how the same legend can embody both primal terror and protective strength. And, in true Sasquatch Odyssey fashion, the episode also asks: how do these portrayals ripple back into the real world? Could repeated depictions of Sasquatch as noble or heroic actually shape how people process their own encounters in the wild? Finally, stick around until the end of the episode for a special surprise: Brian joins the conversation to share his take on Marvel's Sasquatch, and how he sees pop culture constantly influencing real-life beliefs about Bigfoot. This is an episode that blends comics, folklore, psychology, and the enduring mystery of the creature in the woods.Whether you're a Marvel fan, a Bigfoot believer, or just curious about how myths evolve, this Pop Culture Edition proves one thing: Sasquatch isn't just hiding in the forest—he's alive and well in the pages of our favorite comics.Get Our FREE NewsletterGet Brian's Books Leave Us A VoicemailVisit Our WebsiteSupport Our SponsorsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sasquatch-odyssey--4839697/support.

Marvel Studios and many of its numerous characters are household names around the world. Their superhero-powered movies earn hundreds of millions and sometimes billions of dollars at the box office, including the #2 top grossing movie of all time – Avengers: Endgame. They're also arguably one of the top turnaround stories of the past 20 years, as they rose like a phoenix from the ashes of bankruptcy to ultimately sell to Disney for $4.5 billion. In today's Redefiners episode, Simon and Marla suit up to talk with Peter Cuneo, former CEO of Marvel Entertainment and the leader who led the turnaround of this storied company, along with several other global brands. Peter shares his story of how he got into the business of turnarounds and why he's attracted to risk as a leader. He takes us through how he conquers the common challenge of getting the leadership and culture right at the companies he's led. And he shares some of the 28 leadership tips he's compiled over the course of his storied career into a list he fittingly calls Essentials for Superhero Leadership (which you can also find in podcast form at Superhero Leadership). We'll also hear from Hetty Pye, a leadership advisor in our London office, who will discuss why transformation efforts fail and what senior leaders can do about it. Four things you'll learn from this episode: What are the first things to focus on in a turnaround and how to get your people and board aligned How to make an organization's culture more productive, creative, and effective What to look out for in a shift from CEO to Board role What are the top leadership essentials of Superhero Leadership If you enjoyed this episode, you might also like these Redefiners episodes: Leading with a North Star: Former Decathlon CEO Barbara Martin Coppola's Blueprint for Bold Change Leadership Lounge: Boardroom Bound: How to Navigate Your Journey from Executive to Board Director Music with a Mission: Former MTV International Chairman and CEO Bill Roedy on Leading with Purpose Leadership Lounge: From Firefighting to Future-Building: How Leaders Can Master Perpetual Transformation Digging Deep: Leadership, Growth & Risk with BHP CEO Mike Henry Leadership Lounge: Leadership Under Fire: How Mentorship Can Help C-suites Turn Headwinds Into Opportunity
