Dive into the latest Opie Radio podcast, recorded live from the glass box porch in NYC. Opie and the crew—unload gripes about helicopter crashes, blinding high beams, and flimsy coffee lids, while riffing on everything from toilet paper wars with Canada to cabbies napping at red lights. Expect wild tangents: Matt’s rise from beer-slinger to co-host after Carl and Vic’s passing, Ron the Waiter’s origin story, and a parking-challenged doctor sparking chaos. The gang tackles fake dead grandma excuses, reminisces about the Rolling Stones’ Tattoo You, and debates tariffs, printers, and fluffy TP. It’s a nineties-themed rollercoaster of laughs, rants, and unfiltered vibes—powered by Lagunitas Hoppy Refreshers, no alcohol needed. He's tattooing women before, after, and sometimes during having sex with them. This week, Dustin welcomes Adult Performer and Tattoo Artist Ellis Camino to the show, and as you read above, Ellis is tattooing women before, during, and after he has sex with them in porn scenes. Yes, DURING. But how does that work? Is it dangerous? And how many times has Ellis done it? With less than a year in the adult industry and discovered by former adult star and infamous tattoo artist Evilyn Ink, Ellis and Dustin talk about how we got here and what it took for the industry and popular culture to finally embrace tattooed alternative performers. How legends and innovators like Christy Mack and Joanna Angel led the charge, and where Ellis, and people like him plan on taking it next.Towards the end of the episode, Ellis chats about what it's really like to be a male in the porn industry and what he is up to on OnlyFans. Both Republicans and Democrats in the US state of Alabama are trying to find a legal solution that would protect access to IVF treatment, after a court ruling cast doubt on its future. By 1981, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were barely talking, having differing opinions on the direction of The Rolling Stones. Making new music together seemed out of the question, but they were booked on a world tour, and needed an album to tour behind. That's when engineer Chris Kimsey stepped in to save the day, poring over forgotten outtakes from the band's previous sessions to cobble together what would become the Tattoo You album. The lead track, “Start Me Up,” was the biggest surprise to Keith Richards, who had written it as a reggae song but never liked what he heard when it was recorded. But, Kimsey found a diamond in the rough: when Richards and Charlie Watts briefly went into the rockin' version we fans have come to know in one of those forgotten sessions. That outtake, after a little polishing, became one of the biggest hits of the Stones' career, and it's a miracle it was ever found to begin with. Steve tells a harrowing tale of being popped in the mouth by a Wham-O frisbee this week. We weigh in on Mick Jagger's recent comments that Keith Richard's story of Charlie Watts punching Mick isn't true. Our discussion on band dynamics leads us to Steve explain how "Start Me Up" was forgotten for years as a reggae tune before being rediscovered for Tattoo You. We lament the coming deterioration of Band Camp, after a buys out by the company that owns Fortnite. Steve plays guitar with Pearl Jam & explains how much The Black Crowes were hated in their home town of Atlanta, to where free beer wouldn't even get people to come to their show. We'll be honest. We both went into this album thinking the Stones were overrated. We learned that this album is a mashup of outtakes from Stones albums released before this one dating back to the previous decade. We also think we've discovered a parallel in some of their non hits to some Zeppelin songs. For example, the song No Quarter from Houses of the Holy ('73) sounds a lot like the song Slaves from Tattoo You ('81). Listen to both songs carefully. EnjoySupport the show

Diane Durrett & Soul Suga', Make America GrooveDiane Durrett & Soul Suga', Blue WaterThe Porkroll Project, Down In MexicoThe Porkroll Project, Going To The StationZac Harmon, Crying ShameZac Harmon, Long As I Got My GuitarElly Wininger, Alabama BluesElly Wininger, (I Wanna Be Like) Rosie.Reverend Freakchild, Jesus Just Left Chicago!Rusty Ends Blues Band, What Next?Rusty Ends Blues Band, Sinner's StrutThe Rolling Stones, Living in the Heart of LoveBlackberry Smoke w the Allman Betts Band, Jesus Left Chicago

It could very well be the most cohesive sounding collection of strays ever assembled. Comprised mostly of outtakes from their storied past, some that were a decade old, some that had no vocals, others that did, most given overdubs and new vocals, plus a couple new songs, it's an album that got made because The Rolling Stones wanted to tour, but there wasn't sufficient time beforehand to do a whole new album, so they went back, into the vaults. Cut by cut, here we go. Support the Show: https://www.jeffwoodsradio.com/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Jon and Chris are joined by Jim Moscater and Listen Closely newcomer, Mike Slatky, for the finale of season two. The four take an insightful and entertaining look at Tattoo You from The Rolling Stones. Released nearly forty years ago and consisting almost entirely of previously unreleased demos and outtakes, Tattoo You was the surprise hit album of 1981, and the album's second side is considered by many fans and critics to contain some of the Stones' most ambitious and innovative work. Tattoo You and the outlandish music videos from the album also helped introduce a new generation of fans to The Rolling Stones, with the album being released less than a month after the premiere of a new 24 hour music television network known as MTV.

"Back in 1981, when the Stones toured on Tattoo You, they had what many believe to be the first sponsored tour. Jovan Musk paid 1 million to put their logo on tickets and posters. Now it has become common place but the real story is that many companies are sponsoring smaller start-up tours. We've got the scoop and a bunch of email and web address for your band to apply. "

From the album cover to some of the songs that sound unfinished or uninspired, there’s quite a bit to criticize about Dirty Work. The 1986 album was made amid internal disagreements and continued substance abuse issues, leading to a musical document that marks another rough time in the band’s history. It’s not all bad, though! As with most of the post-Tattoo You period for the Rolling Stones, properly evaluating the album requires that you separate the musical document from the in-the-moment critical analysis. The first and last songs serve as highlights, and there are some bright points along the way.
The Rolling Stones were back in 1981 with a brand new album --- except this was unlike any "Brand New Album" they'd ever released as a band, since almost none of it was actually brand new. Instead, the Stones and their engineering team combed the vaults and found a bunch of half-finished tracks, put lyrics and modern production on them, and released them to the public. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, right?Except it was great. Tattoo You is broadly viewed as the last truly awesome Rolling Stones album, and time has arguably been kinder to it than even the initial reviews were. Similar to mix of rock, balladry, and groove that they perfected on Some Girls, this mix of songs sounds surprisingly coherent, despite most of them not coming from the same recording session (or even the same group of musicians, in many cases). We go track-by-track through the grooves on this album, from the archetypal riffage of Start Me Up all the way to the dreamy songscaping of Waiting on a Friend.
With things lightning up I've been able to see a few people LIVE this week. Boy, that was exciting. Who'd have thought? The Rolling Stones set the tone this week with "Start Me Up" and "Waiting on a Friend" - appropriate titles from the underrated and my favorite, "Tattoo You" album. Also, MLB's unbelievable selfishness. Let's get rid of baseball forever. It's dumb. And, The New York Times says people would go to back to Broadway if it wasn't for "The Jerk Factor" -- I guess they won't go if Dave Juskow is in attendance. HEY OOO!!! On the show today is the photographer Michael Halsband, whose work I first saw in Surf Book, a collaborative project with legendary surfer Joel Tudor examining surf culture through the people who built it. From there I began exploring his extensive body of portraits of artists and musicians from Klaus Nomi & Bernice Abbott to David Byrne & James Brown. After studying photography at SVA, Michael got the chance to photograph Keith Richards for the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, after which he joined the Stones on their 1981 Tattoo You tour. Upon returning to New York, Michael made what was to become his most famous photograph, one that I imagine many of you have seen. The 1985 portrait of Andy Warhol and Jean Michel Basquiat wearing boxing shorts and gloves, arms crossed, looking straight into camera against a clean white background. Originally created as a promotional poster for a collaborative show between the two artists, it became the iconic image of one of art’s great partnerships.I got to sit down with have tea with Michael in the same studio where that photograph was made. You can also see my portrait of Michael in the studio at www.williamjesslaird.com/imageculture as well as on Instagram @william.jess.laird and @image.cultureThis show is produced by Sarah Levine, our music is by Jack and Eliza.
