Kevin is also the author of Getting the Job Done. Kevin, welcome to the show. Thank you for having me, Steve. I'm excited to be part of your podcast and looking forward to having some dialogue and learning from each other. Yeah, well, me too. I'm also looking forward. So let's start with my favorite question. What is your personal “Why,” Kevin, and what are you doing in your business to manifest? I'd say to start with, I got to use the book as my statement, it's getting the job done. The question is why, what's so important about getting the job done? Well, I enjoy it. I take a lot of pride in what I do. I enjoy the success that comes with it. I'd say many athletes run because of the adrenaline or what gets them motivated and winning and the things that an athlete does on a daily basis when they compete. I try to practice that in business. And in most cases, you've got to get the job done first, meaning you've got to achieve something that you set your mind out to. In my case, it's mostly a lot of big large-scale projects. And then the success that comes with it, the feeling of doing something maybe other people haven't done or couldn't do or you were able to bring value that some other people might not have, it's great. That makes me feel good. It makes the business today what it is, and I enjoy it. Sounds like you're a competitive person who likes to show things that other people couldn't achieve. I am competitive. I'm not going to shy away from that statement. I don't use that to judge myself. I think I'm my biggest competitor myself. When I set out to do something, I make a commitment to myself first and foremost. And it's being able to execute on that.Share on X When I have the opportunity of working with other people, I like a lot of competitive fun. You got to be careful how you manifest competition. You don't want it to get in the way of your success and the success of others. You want to bring the best out of everybody. And I do like that. It's a lot of fun. Okay. Well, you're certainly very methodical about how you do that. In your book you talk about the framework that you call PROJECTS, which is an acronym of how you actually get the job done. So can you tell a little bit to our listeners about the project framework and what it does and how it does it? Yes. T2, the group, the company, for many, many years has been working on projects and those projects range mostly technology, but they range in relocating a corporation's data center or transforming their technology or helping them install new applications to enable them to do other things that they might not have been doing. And those projects require a lot of coordination and a lot of planning, a lot of resource management. And as we've evolved over the years,

Wiesner gilt als Pionier der Naturküche. Viele seiner Zutaten holt er aus der Natur. Durch einen Dokumentarfilm wurde er als «Hexer aus dem Entlebuch» bekannt. Mit seiner Frau, mit der er zwei erwachsene Kinder hat, führte er 34 Jahre lang den Gasthof seiner Eltern in Escholzmatt LU. Einen Neuanfang gab es nun mit über sechzig Jahren: Der Naturkoch hat auf 1053 Meter Fuss gefasst, im abgelegenen Bramboden gibt er verschiedenste Kurse mit Weitsicht auf die Biosphäre Entlebuch. Gekocht wird im «Wiesner Mysterion» jeweils am Mittag, dafür mit der Energie der Solaranlagen. Corinna Braun, (59) Touristikerin Corinna Braun ist Kosmopolitin. Sie ist in Luzern geboren und in vier Ländern aufgewachsen. Anpassungsfähigkeit hat sie immer wieder bewiesen, auch in den verschiedensten Jobs. Besonders gerne liess sie sich in Projekte engagieren, die vorher noch nicht bestanden haben. Etwas Neues anpacken mit «Haut und Haare», das liegt ihr. Mitten in der Fränkischen Schweiz liegt ein Bier-Kleinod mit einer ganz besonderen Geschichte. Ehemals Wölfische Brauerei, dann Gasthof Seitz und nun Elch-Bräu ist das Unternehmen von Georg Kugler mittlerweile zum Fixstern am Bierkeller- und Brauereihimmel der Franken geworden. Die Liebe zum Bier entdeckte Georg Kugler über einen interessanten Umweg: Ein Freund seines Vaters arbeitete bei einer großen Berliner Brauerei und entfachte mit seinen Erzählungen das Interesse am Thema Gerstensaft bei dem damals 12jährigen. Also war der Weg vorgezeichnet: Lehre bei der benachbarten Lindenbräu in Gräfenberg, Braumeisterdiplom und die Frage, was nun? Diese Frage klären wir im Podcast und sprechen natürlich auch über die spannenden Biere und Whiskys aus dem Hause Elchbräu...

Torfmoore bedecken drei Prozent der Landflächen weltweit, speichern jedoch ein Drittel des Kohlenstoffs. Der gelangt in die Atmosphäre, wenn Torf abgebaut wird – z.B. für Anzuchterde von Jungpflanzen. Torf-Alternativen dafür gibt es, aber auch die haben Nachteile. Mehr dazu in SWR2 Wissen.

Länger fit bleibt vor allem das Kurzzeitgedächtnis, das wir brauchen, um komplexe Aufgaben zu bewältigen - zum Beispiel logisch denken, lernen oder lesen.  (14:03) Wie Tiere im Schlaf abtauchen: Seeelefanten schlafen nur etwa 2 Stunden pro Tag, in spiralförmigen Tauchgängen, mehrere hundert Meter unter Wasser. Das haben Forschende aus den USA soeben nachgewiesen. Auch andere Tiere – von Stockenten über Elefanten bis hin zu Fliegen – haben erstaunliche Schlafgewohnheiten.  (20:00) Torf in der Schweiz: Er ist ein Segen für den Garten und die Landwirtschaft. Doch der wertvolle Stoff aus dem Moor ist vor allem ein grosses Umweltproblem. In der Schweiz darf Torf auch nicht mehr abgebaut werden. Statt dessen wird viel davon aus dem Ausland importiert. Doch dies ist nur ein kleiner Teil des Problems.

Podłoża do wysiewu, pikowania i uprawy roślin, jakie możemy kupić w centrach ogrodniczych, najczęściej składają z mieszanki torfu wysokiego i niskiego. Torf jest bardzo cennym składnikiem ekosystemu, który nadmiernie eksploatujemy. Dlatego warto i trzeba ograniczyć jego stosowanie. Zachęcamy do używania podłoży beztorfowych lub tworzenia własnych mieszanek do uprawy roślin.W ogrodzie Katarzyny w Zgorzałem powstała nowa część ogrodu z oranżerią i rabatami ozdobnymi i użytkowymi. To dzięki patronom, którzy wspierają działalność ogrodu pokazowego. W Jacka ogrodzie powstała nowa 100 metrowa rabata ozdobna. Oba założenia powstały metodą nodig (bez przekopywania) z zastosowaniem kompostu z zakładu utylizacyjnego. Rok 2022, to bardzo chłodna wiosna i ciepła jesień. Dobry rok dla pomidorów, zarówno szklarniowych, jak i uprawianych w gruncie. Nieco gorzej czuły się warzywa ciepłolubne, które uprawiane były bez chroniących przed zimnem osłon. Moore sind Multitalente. Sie speichern mehr CO2 als alle Wälder der Welt zusammen. Sie sind Klimaschützer, Artenschützer und Erholungsgebiete. Und zugleich sind sie umrankt von Mythen und Märchen. Aber: Weltweit ist bereits etwa ein Fünftel der Moore entwässert - mit gravierenden Folgen für die Treibhausgas-Emissionen. Auch in Deutschland haben naturbelassene Moore mittlerweile Seltenheitswert. Viele sind entwässert worden, um sie als Wald oder Weide zu nutzen oder um Torf abzubauen. Die Bundesregierung hat eine Gegenstrategie und will Moore renaturieren. Wie können wir Moore besser schützen und trotzdem nutzen?
