     Best known as the gruff newsman he first played on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" he was also a busy character actor and a political activist.  I had the pleasure to meet and interview Ed Asner in 2009 while he was in Bend for the one man show FDR.   Ed Asner passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2021.
