My guest today is Shaya Suppasiritad. Shanya is a change maker and creative thinker set out to disrupt the fashion industry with the circular movement. Shanya is the founder of Rntr, a platform helping brands drive growth through RE-commerce which includes Rental, Resale and Repair. Season after season brands are struggling to maximise their ROI for each collection as trends move rapidly. Items are often being discounted and many are left unsold. At the same time, more and more consumers are participating in re-commerce (rental + resale), shifting towards responsible consumption. But for brands to tap into the benefits of rental, resale and repair (New customer acquisition, loyalty, data, increased ROI efficiency and more)…, it can be costly and complex if done inhouse. That's why Shanya founded Rntr. Shanya and her team want every brand to have the opportunity to step into and profit from the circular economy while owning the re-commerce experience for their brand. I took so much away from this dynamic conversation with Shanya and no doubt you will too. _____________________________________________ If you would like to take your Fashion Business to the next level, connect with us via any of the following links and enquire about Consulting, Mentorship or Online Learning. Welcome to Impact Edit, where we bring you the most powerful insights and golden nuggets from our impactful conversations with thought leaders and changemakers in the fashion industry. We are revisiting a remarkable episode that left a lasting impression. In this snippet from our original podcast episode, I'm chatting with Mary Lou Ryan who co-founded bassike with Deborah Sams in 2006 to create what they couldn't find: high quality, design-led, sustainably sourced wardrobe essentials. Lou & Deb chose to work with organic cotton, Australian makers and responsible business practices from the beginning. The pair designed the first collections from a 1950s cottage on Sydney's Palm Beach, and bassike has the ease and vitality of Australian beach life in its DNA. Their debut collection was a considered edit of luxurious, organic cotton jersey t-shirts and pants that instantly connected with wearers in search of contemporary designs with the versatility to work within their existing wardrobes. Mary Lou holds the title of Director of Sustainability & Supply Chain at bassike, with a commitment to accelerating and amplifying positive change at the brand, within the community and the broader fashion industry. bassike is proudly B Corp and Climate Active Carbon Neutral certified. During our dynamic chat, Lou talks us through: Lou's early days in the industry Why and how Lou and Deb launched bassike Bassike's Responsible Business Journey Building Meaningful Partnerships Local Manufacturing & Sustainable practices Nurturing their loyal, engaged customer Working on Mindset & Wellbeing and so much more. I loved every minute of my time with Lou and no doubt you will too. Today's episode focuses on an everyday accessible solution that provides the GIFT of health and wellness services to support to those who need it. This is something that can be integrated into any Workplace Wellness Program and shared with our family, friends and communities. Nikki Williams is a repeat entrepreneur, marketer and health and wellness advocate who has recently launched Mentwell; a digital gift card for health and wellness services where the receiver gets to choose how they redeem, at any service provider, Australia-wide. This means GPs, dentists, psychologists, all Allied Health, all alternative and complementary therapies, gyms, yoga and pilates studios, wellness centres, retreats and more. It's evident that Nikki has a unique ability to use her life experiences as a way of fuelling her passion when it comes to her work life. First, music was a coping mechanism to deal with a challenging family situation; so she became a music manager and PR professional. Then she dove head first into hospitality as a job, but realised she wanted to help hospitality owners and operators, so she started a successful digital marketing agency for this sector. Then wellness became important during a particularly difficult time during Covid, so she created a kids yoga mat company and started building Mentwell. Now Nikki is on a mission to make wellness the 3.0 of gifting. We've had material gifts like flowers and chocolates, then we moved to experience based gifting like hot air balloon rides, and now gifting wellness allows one another to potentially change the lives of those around us. Just 22 weeks after launching Mentwell, Nikki and her team have $5.8m in sales revenue secured for 2024 and are raising $1.5m through a Birchal crowdfunding campaign in May, 2024. Nikki dreams of being able to be a philanthropist as a full time job, helping to increase the global health and wellness of our communities, in particular those who are less fortunate or disadvantaged. Nikki has continuously used her intuition and curiosity to create businesses and she's excited to share her journey with Mentwell so far with our community. During our dynamic conversation, we dive into: The significant changes taking place in the health and wellbeing space The power of gifting Mentwell, Australia's FIRST Health and Wellness Gift Card What choosing to align with Mentwell could mean for your business How embracing discipline rather than motivation can be transformational in each of our lives And so much more. For anyone in business, this will be one of the most profound and moving episodes that you will listen to all year. Erin Deering, the accomplished Australian entrepreneur and co-founder of the renowned global swimwear brand, Triangl, has left a permanent mark on the fashion industry. Her innovative use of neoprene cuts and strategic embrace of the influencer effect propelled Triangl to cult status, culminating in a staggering valuation of USD$200 million. Yet, amidst the resounding success, Erin, like many women striving to 'have it all,' discovered the profound personal sacrifices that accompanied her professional journey. Feeling "totally broken" after years of relentless brand growth, Erin made a pivotal decision to step away from Triangl at its peak. This marked the beginning of an intensive period of self-discovery, during which she explored various avenues, including meditation, manifestation, and traditional therapy. Through this transformative process, Erin emerged with a rekindled sense of passion and purpose. In 2023, she launched a podcast titled "The Work," where she generously shared insights on business, personal development, and self-care. Erin, a multifaceted individual, has also embraced roles as a speaker, entrepreneur, mentor, and author. Her memoir, "Hanging By A Thread," recently claimed the #1 spot on Booktopia's charts. This year, Erin gears up to unveil her eagerly anticipated fashion brand in September. This venture reflects her unwavering commitment to blending style with substance, embodying the lessons learned from her remarkable journey. During this dynamic conversation, we dive into: The inspiration behind Erin's book, Hanging by a Thread The highs and lows of growing the iconic Australian swimwear brand Triangl The experience of exiting Triangl and how it was navigated Erin's healing journey from hanging by a thread to having it all The exciting upcoming launch of Erin's new fashion brand You can connect with Erin at: Instagram https://www.instagram.com/erinkdeering/ https://www.erindeering.com/ _______ If you would like to take your Fashion Business to the next level, connect with us via any of the following links and enquire about Consulting, Mentorship or Online Learning. Wanting to further his skills and knowledge he sought out an apprenticeship with an Italian tailor practising in traditional sartorial methods, where he would develop his knowledge and technique. Shortly after, he was granted a scholarship to the prestigious Europeo Instituto di Design in Milan, Italy, where he graduated with honours. After returning to Australia, Vasileff expanded the business to employ and train staff who were equally passionate about honouring the traditions of fine sewing. In 2017, Vasileff was awarded ‘Young Australian of the Year' for his work in founding Paolo Sebastian and its contribution to the Australian fashion industry. He was later awarded ‘Designer of The Year' in the Prix de Marie Claire Awards. Vasileff continues to follow his dream, further developing the brand and business with an international clientele, annual showings in Paris, and adhering to the highest standards of craftsmanship. In this episode, I'm chatting with Mary Lou Ryan who co-founded bassike with Deborah Sams in 2006 to create what they couldn't find: high quality, design-led, sustainably sourced wardrobe essentials. In this episode, I speak with Vanessa Bell, a successful entrepreneur and advocate for sustainability, known for her expertise in the fashion and agricultural industries. Vanessa started her career as a model, gracing the pages of high-end fashion publications and walking the runway for top-tier designers. However, her true passion lies in farming and sustainable fashion. Vanessa owns close to 118,000 acres of pristine land in Australia and is one of the few women in the world with a landholding more than twice the size of Paris. Vanessa has invested in the future by expanding her collection of hand-knitted Australian Merino wool baby knitwear to include luxury women's knitwear produced in Italy, all made from traceable and ethically farmed Australian Merino yarn. The Vanessa Bell brand promotes sustainability by using naturally occurring, renewable, and biodegradable Australian Merino wool and is committed to reducing microplastic pollution in the environment and inspiring future generations to make environmentally conscious decisions. Vanessa works closely with The Woolmark Company (AWI) and is a member of the Australian Fashion Council. In 2022, she was appointed as an Advisor to the Board of Ag Tech company Zondii, where she focuses on provenance and authentication for wool. Beyond fashion, Vanessa is committed to a large-scale mixed farming enterprise (including organic wheat) with active strategies to become a certified biodiversity and carbon farmer. Welcome to Impact Edit, where we bring you the most powerful insights and golden nuggets from our impactful conversations with thought leaders and changemakers in the fashion industry. We are revisiting a remarkable episode that left a lasting impression. In this snippet from our original podcast episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Molly Rogers and Emma Clegg, the inspiring co-founders of JAM the label. Their journey began with a shared passion for occupational therapy and a deep empathy for young people with disabilities. Molly and Emma recognized the challenges faced by individuals in wheelchairs when it came to finding fashionable and functional clothing. They refused to accept compromise and embarked on a mission to create inclusive fashion for young people with disabilities. Thus, JAM the label was born in 2019, named after two remarkable teenagers, Jack and Maddie. With design features like magnetic closures, side-zip jackets, and pants tailored for seated comfort, JAM has redefined inclusivity in fashion. Starting with just one product, they have now expanded to partner with external retailers, including EveryHuman, Averee, and THE ICONIC. Their dream? To become the number one inclusive fashion brand in Australia, ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can feel cool, proud, and stylish in their clothing. Molly and Emma's story is a testament to the transformative power of passion, empathy, and unwavering dedication. As we revisit this episode, we encourage you to listen closely to the insights, strategies, and perspectives shared by these remarkable founders. Their wisdom is a true golden nugget that can spark new ideas, inspire change, and help you make a lasting impact in your business, with your team, and within your community. So, whether you're an established business owner or just beginning your entrepreneurial journey, get ready to be equipped with valuable information and inspiration. Impact Edit is here to provide maximum impact in minimum time.Thank you for joining us, and let's dive into this empowering episode of Impact Edit. READY TO SCALE UP? In this episode, I speak with Natalie Dabscheck. A leader in the industry, becoming the founder and creative director of Australian fashion brand MOS the Label wasn't so much a choice as Natalie's destiny with over 20 years' experience in the fashion industry. A female owned and led business, MOS the Label was created in Sydney, near the beaches of Bondi by founder & mother, Natalie Dabscheck. Natalie envisioned a brand for women like her - crafting feminine pieces with a relaxed approach for real women to celebrate life. Evolving out of local label, Bebe Sydney, to now offer their own unique take on modern bohemian luxe whilst remaining true to their commitment to a future of natural fabrications, thoughtful design transcending seasons, and being a part of each stage of a woman's life. With Natalie at the helm, as creative director for two decades, Natalie has led a team of artists and designers, managed the vision of the brand, and developed innovative strategies to drive growth. Contributing to the Australian fashion landscape and supporting the incredible women that make up the brand to what it is today. MOS the Label have made a commitment; to research, share and inspire through their core values. Working with people and planet in mind at all times, to ensure a positive impact on our environment and our community. Built on the foundations of a journey to inspire change in the world and a continued effort to reduce environmental impact, build considered connections and responsibly evolve as a brand. In this episode, I chat with Jeremy Meltzer, the Founder of i=Change. Jeremy is a social entrepreneur and inspiring voice for women's rights globally. He created i=Change to help accelerate the impact of extraordinary development projects, focused on empowering women and girls. As a young man, Jeremy was moved to action while living in Cuba. He was shocked at how violence against women seemed accepted and was even considered 'normal' across Latin America. This left him with a burning question... Why is such abuse so common in some communities while abhorrent in others?Over the last ten years in an attempt to understand this issue, Jeremy's met with NGO's and communities in many countries around the world. Jeremy believes the solution lies in engaging men, challenging the dominant versions of masculinity, modeling respectful relationships to children, and funding best-practice NGOs. Jeremy is passionate about the enormous potential, that often won't be realised, in women and girls around the world. What would they build if they could? How could i=Change be part of the solution? In partnership with over 350 retailers like P.E Nation, Camila, Pillow Talk and Clarins, including collaborations with Afterpay and ARA.i=Change has raised $1at a time - over $5.8M and counting (as of 28/5/22), impacting the lives of up to 1.3M people in Australia and globally.i=Change is leading a purposeful retail movement and changing retail for good so that it's no longer enough to sell a product. You can find i=Change at:Instagram: @iequalchangeWebsite: www.iequalchangeJOIN OUR SYFB PROGRAMME If you want to make the Fashion Business your Business in 2022– then head to our website and watch the replay of our last Info Session & QA.Our waitlist is now open for our 'Start Your Fashion Business' programme, so if you would like to join our community jump on the list now!If you're up for a Mini-Course, check out our Start and Scale Studio. and explore Start your Sourcing Strategy, Startup Cost Analysis, and Tech Pack Development. If you want to work 1:1 with a Mentor and kickstart your biz development, you can head to Your Mentor Collective – book a 1 hour of power session with one of our amazing industry Mentors - that's where the magic happens! You can find Fashion Equipped over at:Instagram: @fashionequipped @startyourfashionbusiness_auPodcast Insta: @fashionbusinessmindsetFacebook: www.facebook.com/fashionequippedWebsite: www.fashionequipped.com.auLet's do this together, let's make The Fashion Business, YOUR Business!

I'm so excited to launch season 3 of the podcast and dive into our first episode for 2022!So many of us have stepped into this year looking at our life through a completely different lens.So many of my clients, colleagues, friends, and family have experienced some profound SHIFTS.Whether that is around:- Values and the way we live our lives- Career Path- Business Direction- Passion and Purpose- Ambition and AspirationsSo in this episode, I wanted to chat about whether starting that THING – whether it's a new job, a new business or a new adventure is for YOU! Here is a framework that has been transformational for ME and my 1:1 clients time and time again. It's called the Wheel of Life. This is well known powerful development tool because it gives you a vivid visual representation of the way your life is currently, compared with the way you'd ideally like it to be.It is called the "Wheel of Life" because each area of your life is mapped on a circle, like the spoke of a wheel.Essentially, it's:1. Snapshot of where you are now when it comes to key areas of your life2. Your level of satisfaction with where you are now - 1 being lowest – 10 at highest3. And it provides a framework to assess not only where you are now, but most importantly where you WANT TO BE and can be the catalyst for creating an action plan that is laser focused on your IDEAL life goals. You can customise the spokes on YOUR wheel, but typically they would include key areas of your life such as:- Health- Family- Friends- Career- Finances- Purpose- Love- Self Development- ContributionsThe steps to work through this powerful process start with:1. A Brainstorm of your Life Areas2. Think About Your Ideal Level for Life Balance3. Take Action! You can find your wheel of life template here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PMfNkPiKxL2MeNdzPp7DbMKee1QwlRNV?usp=sharingJOIN OUR SYFB PROGRAMME If you want to make the Fashion Business your Business in 2022– then head to our website. In this episode, Elizabeth speaks with Molly Rogers and Emma Clegg, the Co-Founders of JAM the label.Molly and Emma met while studying occupational therapy at university and bonded over a shared passion for their work. They were both casual disability support workers for teenagers, Jack and Maddie, at the time, and would often discuss how difficult the teens found dressing, as they both used wheelchairs. “Not only was it difficult for them, but anything that was easier for them to get dressed in was not cool and wasn't something that we would have wanted to wear when we were teenagers. Why should they have to compromise on fashion just for functionality?” Emma says.Soon realising this is a common experience for the one in five Australians with disabilities, Molly and Emma launched JAM the label in 2019 (named after Jack and Maddie), a clothing brand born out of the need for inclusive clothing for young people with disabilities. Design features include shirts that close with magnets instead of buttons, jackets that zip up on the sides, and pants that have extra room for comfort when seated and a subtle drop crotch for discretion when using continence aids.Since launching small with just one product, JAM is now stocked with three external retailers, including EveryHuman, Averee and THE ICONIC. “Our dream for JAM is to be the number one inclusive fashion brand in Australia. We want everyone in Australia to have the opportunity to wear clothes that make them feel cool, that they're very proud to be wearing, and we don't think that should be any different for people with disability,” says Molly.Elizabeth was inspired by this chat with Molly and Emma and was so impressed with the achievements these dynamic Co-Founders have achieved in a short period of time. They are clearly on a mission! You can find JAM at:Instagram: @jamthelabelWebsite: www.jamthelabel.comJOIN OUR SYFB PROGRAMME WAITLIST.
